Shes always been a bad character. Most marvel females began as bad characters who evolved over time. Jean never really did. Shes just the hot red head the boys fawn over and there to motivate the boys into action when she inevitably gets fridges again.

It's unlikely that an 05 X-men would even be allowed outside the X-books nowadays. Even if they were, psychics don't get used a whole lot in the rest of the MU. Moon Dragon and Maximus are arguably the most prominent non mutant telepaths. Also there isn't a lot of demand.

First chapter of her solo was 26th which is horrible for a X-book #1. Ten spots higher than Kamala but iirc she's getting a second printing.

She's also self righteous and arrogant, which can be fun negatives to look into, but awful when the writer wont let her be challenged or question herself.

Three problems: the X-office is never going to let anyone else get their hands on her or not have her tied down to current storylines, telepaths are almost always powercreeped to the point of having to write around them or writing them out, and most of Jean's personality post resurrection was handed over to Emma Frost (back when writers were actually bothering to show she could be a good person instead of writing a horrific b***h and saying Emma's a good person).
