The alcoholic turd I just flushed down the toilet looks like a masterpiece compared to JW: Dominion.
The JW movies are worse than tragedy, they're atrocities.

its actually very good. the only thing holding it back is the lack of a climax. it just fizzles out and ends. not sure what they could have put in after the raptor egg scene. anything but a guy with a megaphone though lmao

The final encounter with the spinosaur was the climax.

It's weak like the entire movie. The raptors carry the movie alone. And a few nice-looking shots.

At worst it's a shallow island adventure with no consequences and no harmfull effect to the previous movies

I wish they dwelve more into the mystery of the Spino and the other unclassified dinosaurs of Site B that are just there without being present in any In-gen list, as well as the prototypes in the lab. In the theatric run they just hint at all that stuff with 2-3 lines

Bird Cage was cool too. But apparently was a scene initially planned for the Lost World, so it would be still Spilberg's brainchild

Didn't have a plot to start,
      Like dinosaurs... Around the world
Lol no, hace the main characters narrowly escape scene after scene knowing none of them die or even get scratches while white man company bad.

I really wished they had gone with the human Dino hybrids and made it max horror. The books had a lot darker scarier tone that I think the reboots could have benefited from.

I'd agree with that. JP honestly pussies out on being a horror in favour of being a blockbuster too much.

I'm putting it between Dominion and Fallen Kingdom. This one started the problem with not killing non-antagonists.

3 is the second best film in the franchise. 2 is probably the most overrated one and frick anyone that dares say it's even close to being comparable to the first one.

You are so correct. I get people having their own opinions and shit but JP1 > JP3 > JP2

I like and rewatch them all btw, lost word is a good film just fricked itself by not including the raptor boat attack.

JP3 has some fricking great shots in it. One of my favourite is the guy on the runway waving for the plane to stop only for the camera to cut to the Spinosaurus running out and snapping him up. Also the big long shot of the Trex vs Spino fight. JP3 has some great visuals.

It's so good it fools people into thinking that what comes next is just as good and not just a standard modern blockbuster action scene.

After Fallen Kingdom goes through the same process as JPIII and becomes the "underappreciated" sequel I wonder what will be cited as the reason. For JPIII it's velociraptors (genuinely good argument) and a couple shots of either spino or pteranodon (inconsequential to the movie).

The movie really needed an human villain, as the Spino was underdeveloped as a mere walking jumpscare and the raptors chased the gang just to have their eggs back. A third enemy was needed

Considering every move aside III had some sort of expert big game hunter, why not making the clueless couble of idiots hire some famous but also dangerous sociopath hunter, that later went rogue once discovered he was tricked and they were NOT billionaries?

Since they are back in the new movie I wonder what about the other Sorna residents. Some were relocated but something must've stayed there.

Kept there as a reserve for eventuall new sequels, like the good old Spino. Too bad the existence of site B by itself makes the entire plot of Fallen Kingdom and Dominion nonsensical

        Anonymous

Sorna was a protected zone, Spino was a foreign element and some speculated that he threw the island into imbalance. In the movies perhaps it was still a total unknown so for all they knew Nublar had the last dinosaurs (of course the technology of cloning exists so it's only a matter of someone cloning them again). And Spino is in the cartoon so he's ok at least. There's no way they transported every dinosaur to the last compsognathus so Sorna is probably still a peaceful lost world. I hope JPIII raptor tribe is doing fine wherever they are.

The entire premise of Fallen Kingdom is nonsensical if there is another isle full of dinosaurs. All that wanking about letting the dinosaurs returning extinct while there is another island full of these homies? Same goes for all that nonsense to catch Blue where they could had just kidnapp the raptors from Sorna

Sorna species confirmed to be alive in canon as of Dominion:
      Buck and Doe
      Spino
      JPIII Raptors
      Ceratosaurus

I think he's just coming to the defense of it because of the bad rep it gets for nothing more than the dream raptor scene and the T. rex vs Spino fight. Like you said, it's fun to watch. Not a masterpiece, but a lot better than people made it out to be.

I liked it more than the first one as a kid

I still regard them as equals. I was actually surprised to see so many people hate them, but equally unsurprised to see many regard it as underrated and some even feel the same way as I do. JP3 was really good and was better than 2, and I can't imagine it would be easy to top in the modern cinematic environment. Maybe if film undergoes a renaissance in 20 years.

            >the dream raptor scene
I genuinely don't understand why people harp on that scene so much. Sure it was kind of dumb but it was so fricking innocuous and yet people act like it ruins the entire film.

I maintain that the only thing wrong with that scene is that it isn't a Raptor from the first film.

I always thought it was trying for more surrealism than simple horror. It was a dream after all.

It could have been, I just think having only seen one type of Raptor it would have made more sense for Alan to dream of that specific one since it highlights his fear of getting near those islands again after all those years a lot better.

            Anonymous

The biggest problem with it is the same as World and Dominion, it sets up some real cool possibilities but doesn't follow through and gets bogged down in nonsensical side plots. It would have been real cool seeing the mercs take out dinos with their 20mm rifle but getting flanked, instead we got gunshots in the distance. Why couldn't we think of a better reason to go to the island than for a missing kid? So then we get a protracted divorce subplot that takes center stage way too much.
