Tomino is a hypocrite for calling Shinkai out but never allowing his MCs to frick either

Doesn't Amuro explicitly frick Sayla in the novel?
And say what you will about his MCs not fricking on screen but his point was that Shinkai's movies have zero innuendo and sexual energy to them, which of all things you can blame Tomino of that's not one of them.

I don't think Tomino was saying Shinkai needed to add full on sex-scenes but that the romance in his stories lacked sexual intimacy. Tomino protagonists are generally pretty overt in their desires.

Exactly, Tomino's shows are very PG rated, even Brain Powerd, but you still have characters going frick crazy and sleeping with everyone on board Orphen. Turn A has a Pagan sex ritual as a coming of age ceremony in its first and second episodes. The point for Tomino is not to write a porno or super ecchi show, the point is to give enough implication that that stuff is going on off screen, that the desire characters have feels raw and perverse. Not saying he always nails that, but that's what Tomino is trying to go for in his shows.

It's fricking ridiculous. I like the show, but it is insane

It's just ridiculous. It's a good show with a few extremely questionable decisions but as far as timelines go it's one of the most detached ones, it takes place in the UC, but it really just felt like a soft-reboot of sorts due to how batshit wacky everything was.

Victory is literally a toy commercial targeted towards children. This this board filled with underagers or are you guys just moronic man babies?

Wouldn't it appeal to both groups since it's a toy commercial?

Both, but most underage posters are in wfm or ibo threads, old UC threads like this are filled with manchildren

Every single Gundam series is a toy commercial with the exception of maybe Turn A and most of them are for children. They literally air at a children's timeslot.

That's why Tomino featured 3 different comedic reliefs, a Haro, a baby and a dog. Two of those kept getting into life or death situations constantly and the baby kept getting bonked and being amidst explosions.

this was the worst part. i hated the baby and dog, and also suzy and the fact that the protagonist is fricking 13. it just makes it unbearable to watch for anyone who isn't in middle school. it's not even that dark or depressing, most of the deaths were done poorly and were just no name designated jobbers

Kind of funny to think that Victory Gundam is more closely attached to G-Saviour than any other UC entry besides F91 and Crossbone retroactively

That opening with the civilian getting slaughtered by the collateral damage of the ms battle was great, we haven't gotten a scene quite like that in other Gundam media

That said the MC and a lot of the cast was forgettable, only good characters were Carrozzo and Cecily
