>ernest questions the official ally reports
Not OP, but
He was way more talented than he showed himself to be
His VA skills were super impressive as well, and I bet had he lived longer he would have transitioned into VA stuff like Bill Murray's brother did.
>VA skills
explain
He was Slinky in Toy Story and his last performance ever was the crazy prospector guy from Atlantis. The movie was actually dedicated to him because he died shortly before it was released.
He had multiple voice acting jobs that he was very good at, what is there to explain
Zoomers cannot extrapolate
is that the dude from reno 911? holy fug my sides
Look up The State
He was a literal fricking hillbilly song and dance man from Kentucky who was a jack of all trades: super talented bluegrass musician who performed at the Opry, was a brilliant actor who won several stage acting awards and was employed at the pioneer playhouse, and overall was widely considered a star-in-waiting when producers stumbled upon him.
However, the one thing that stuck was a) His Ernest character(which he developed in a way very similar to how Paul Reubens developed Pee-Wee)
and b) his voice-acting skills, which carried him after Ernest faded
He also made a ton of jokes at the expense of Italians, which were funny.
as a Kentuckyian I fully support Jim Varney posts.
He was also handy with a blade, apparently a pretty skilled knife thrower according to a few accounts
Cool
Indeed
He went to the college in my town. So did W. Earl Brown. I still don’t understand why he wasn’t cast in TLOU show. It was one of the reasons I didn’t watch it.
Need I say more?
That's a photoshop
So that's why there were so many midriff and swimming shots of kids in Ernest Goes To Camp...
>Hey, Vern! This feller says he has his own island! And he says we can come with!
I liked him in tremors 1 & 2
>ernest commits rwandan genocide
He's pretty much reddit meets netflix meets globohomosexual feminism. Basically he's feminism the person made to hypnotise the viewer into thinking "white men bad" and "POC women good". There isn't really much more to this dreary guy than that.
>Basically he's feminism the person made to hypnotise the viewer into thinking "white men bad" and "POC women good"
If I hadn't watched Ernest Goes To Camp a few hours back I would've called you a homosexual but that movie was comically woke for its time period.
However, he made up for it by making everything else, i.e.
Krader was clearly a israelite and so was his main henchmen and sleazy lawyer
True, his henchman were israelites and he likely was too.
St. Cloud was cute as well.
Sometimes the left is based, I guess.
>white boy
we own America we won it in the war
>Indian man
Who can own a rock?
Who can own a tree?
only the great spirit
I was so disappointed that he never shed a single tear in the movie
What the fricks gene Simmons doing
You weren't even alive when they were making Ernest movies you moron.
TBF I'm OP and I'm a Zoomer, my only experience with him was watching Ernest movies in school because I had a based elementary school teacher. My little brother is addicted to Jim Varney shit and I love it.
You’re a fricking dipshit.
Not very often that a post on Cinemaphileic. It's me, but this sends me into a murderous rage
chronically online homie
What?!? He was beloved.
But he's the hero by the end.
He's noble. Hes friendly. He's lower class.
I don't get it.
He's literally the hero
>According to an interview, one of his final projects was writing a screenplay about the legendary feud between the Hatfields and the McCoys, stating that his grandfather hunted squirrel with the Hatfields. Varney also allegedly had been hoping to acquire more serious acting roles before his death, wanting to step outside the typecast of Ernest.
VVVVGGGHHH, MORE LOST KINO
That would have been so cool. Imagine Varney coming back for True Detective or a Tarantino movie
I'd imagine he'd either get into indie dramas like Bill Murray did in the 00s given Varney was closely involved with the indie production scene, or he'd be the next Jeff Bridges.
Either way, what a tragedy.
The last character actor in a lot of ways, under rated.
How so?
Larry the cable guy
HEY VERN!
I love how late 80s that show was
Is he still doing Dirty Jobs? I loved that show.
He died, that's the dirtiest job of them all
Earnest Scared Stoopid is about them
You're thinking of Dr. Otto and the Riddle of the Gloom Beam
Haven’t seen that one. The one I mentioned is too though which is why the term goblin is linked to them
Another based soul taken from this world far too soon
He just smoked too much
>1982
Nice, you almost fooled me
I know this isn't a confession thread but I have to tell you all. It's embarassing but for the longest time I thought Jim Varney and Ted Raimi were the same person. I have no excuse and I love them both so I guess it's fine, even though it isn't.
No problem, some confuse him for Mike fricking Roe, picrel
Toy Story and Atlantis gaytard
I thought Billy Corgan and Michael Ian Black were the same person for awhile. I think I saw the video for "Today" and then an episode of The State shortly after. Keep in mind this was before HD.
Also he had hair then
kek
>SHAPIRO-KAY-EEYAY-EEYAY, YOU WEAR ME OUT
No worries, I confuse Stanley Tucci and Mark Strong a lot.
You mean Andy Garcia and Mark Strong?
I thought richard attenborough played gandhi and was really impressed how much he'd changed in 10 years between that and jurassic park
Jim Varney, more like Vim Jarney.
Know what I mean, /tvern/?
>he doesn't have any miak
NGMI
He's got the face of a guy who would rape your daughters, chop them into pieces with a hatchet and then burry them. And then you see him act and he looks like one of the sweetest souls.
You can't help the face you're born with. It might not match your personality, but that's how people look at at you.
>i-is that a country person? homie MANG SAVE ME
well this is a good thread. I had no idea Jim Varney was a genius
Is there any more footage of Jim performing Shakespeare? I've only seen it on the brief news report and he was very good.
ernest scared stupid is a great movie, watch it for halloween
Damn I didnt know Anthony Cumia could act.
All you did was read his wiki.
Correction he watched a youtuber read his wiki.
he looks kinda like a chad, I didn't know he looked like a chad
He was awesome.
I always liked Ernest. He had that innocent humor.
Loved earnest as a kid, Earnest Scared Stupid scared the shit out of me lol.
Shame he died so young, fricking cancer.
I watch Ernest Scared Stupid every Halloween season and have been for 25 years
Goes to Jail > Scared Stupid >>>>>>>> Saves Christmas > Goes to Camp
Haven't seen the rest.
