He didn't shoot anybody, but he was a jerk who deserved expulsion
Seriously. Nick and his friends got off easy with suspension and community service. Meanwhile, Jimmy was treated like the problem. That was a load of bullshit. Jimmy was clearly the victim, yet the show wasted no time demonizing him just because he was different.
Also, frick Virgil for treating Jimmy like he was the bad guy and doing nothing about the bullly.
The whole episode was made for two reasons. Bullying and gun safety

It's realistic though. Schools don't punish students based on who started it, they punish them based on who was involved at all. If you fight back against your bullies, you get punished just as much as they did.
>No shit you fricking idiots. You trained a generation in zero tolerance and m but now you expect them to help you. Frickers
This. You create bystander syndrome when you tell people that even self-defense isn't legitimate. All the school wants to do is wash their hands of responsibility of student violence and risking their asses getting sued by making them seem impartial in making it so all parties, victim and bully alike, are punished.

I'll tell you a story I personally witnessed in my high school in Australia: >class is on school trip >kid is lying on the side during the trip lunch time, minding his own business >some bullies start throwing things at him while he's napping >napping kid stands up and pushes one of the bullies to the side >bully punches the kid's head as hard as he can >teachers rush in to break things up, literally all the students witnessed the order of events >bully's parents rush in to the next week to sue the school and the napping kid's parents if the school punishes the bully even slightly >nothing happens to the bully at all
Similar to what I went through, except I split his head open with a paperweight, blood all over the fricking place, and my parents were pissed over the thought of being sued by his parents, but nothing came of it and I was suspended for a week. The worst part wasn't my parents getting pissed, it's the fact that teachers and staff knew I was getting picked on, but ignored it, or even laughed.
I encourage the bullied to fight back, and to make it vicious. I'm not encouraging shooting or stabbing bullies or some really stupid and extreme shit like that, but it's objectively wrong to drill b***h behavior into the bullied, and it has to be drilled into their head of the bullies that there are people out there who don't give a frick who they are or who they know.
>It's realistic though. Schools don't punish students based on who started it, they punish them based on who was involved at all
The fact people pretend this literally doesn't happen all the fricking time in real life actively are cuddled morons.
It's fricked up the people that fight evil homosexuals on their own terms gets punished for it. This has been a problem for eons in muttland and britain it's ridiculous. The law is a fricking joke and worships evil.

One day, things will have to change, no matter the cost
Moreso if the Bully's parent is on the school board.

Bullies are almost always the over entitled children of rich parents who have connections.

Wait
Parents get sued if their child has a violent outburst?
Shit now I feel bad about chimping out so much during high school.
I'm turning out to be a bully myself.
I shouldn't be so hard on them.
They are not adults but not children.
It is hard to know when you are hurting them.
Mostly because they don't want to accept any kind of responsibility of controlling the situation, for fear of shitty parents putting them through the wringer of how their little shit kid is a good boy and could never be a bully.

It depends on what you're chimping out about and who else is involved.
I mean, it posits that the bully did shit for no reason and will receive no cosmic retribution from an unseen force, but also that the actions had meaning and consequences for the narrator. Doesn't read as the author being nihilistic to me.
Karma does exist do you really think a brute who beats people up for no reason will live a normal life? This is assuming each person they fight doesn't one day decide to kick their shit in back. This comic seems more like a "if I didn't see it then it didn't happen" mentality. It would be more accurate to say it's entirely possible that a bully will hurt many more people that by the time their actions catch finally up with them it won't matter.
Social issues in cartoons will never not be cringe. Don't care how well done it is, get your real life shit out of my cartoon about a kid who can shoot lightning from his fingers.
I agree, I was actually drawn into the show a little later (When Reggie got his own powers and became Virgil's sidekick) I really thought some of the powers and enemies were cool but damn were so many episodes just preachy I didn't pay attention until there was a cool fight
if you kill your bullies, you lose
Prove it.
Jimmy didn't even kill Nick. He only shot Richie by accident because Nick's friends tried to stop him
nope they lose since they can't do anything if they're dead
>Oh it feels good! It's just like on TV!
Nick didn't shoot anybody.
He didn't shoot anybody, but he was a jerk who deserved expulsion

Hooray Columbine!!
Whats funny is that the Columbine kids weren't bullied loners acting out. They were legit neo nazis.
Real life isn't TV.

Schools should punish the loser.
When article about the teacher got a beat down by a student, my favorite part was when the teachers were crying how none of the students helped.
No shit you fricking idiots. You trained a generation in zero tolerance and m but now you expect them to help you. Frickers
>m
Is this a typo?
Yeah. Phone posting and didn't proofread

Schools don't care about you, they care about keeping order. The school ran just fine with Jimmy eating shit every single day.
Honestly Jimmy should have never picked up a gun in the first place, but once he pulled a glock out he might as well have finished the job.
I'm turning out to be a bully myself.
I shouldn't be so hard on them.
They are not adults but not children.
It is hard to know when you are hurting them.
some of the things they do are so infuriating, its like they want the abuse, because why else would they invite such behavior?
we say this is a place for men, but we are all of us boys.
Rule34 on Jimmy?
Jimmy was probably a troony
in true shcool shoter fasion she didn't even kill any of the bullys just wounded some innocent friend of the protagonist static shock
that episode was funny
The second season of 13 Reasons Why also has the MC stop the school shooter from killing everyone, including his bullies.
I was bullied in school
The powers that be want you to stop complaining about being bullied
Mostly because they don't want to accept any kind of responsibility of controlling the situation, for fear of shitty parents putting them through the wringer of how their little shit kid is a good boy and could never be a bully.
It depends on what you're chimping out about and who else is involved.
>edgy weirdo that shows off a gun to anyone who gives him the time of day
I wonder why he got bullied?
People need to sexually harrass their bully it works miracles
Is this true? Or simply nihilism?
That's why you have to kill them.
Frick your happy ending
I don't really see how that could be considered nihilist
I guess it’s because anon posted a comic that rejects the idea of “karma” people are so used to believing

This Black person hasn't watched a single episode of Static Shock. It's so Aesop heavy it's practically edutainment.
I agree, I was actually drawn into the show a little later (When Reggie got his own powers and became Virgil's sidekick) I really thought some of the powers and enemies were cool but damn were so many episodes just preachy I didn't pay attention until there was a cool fight
I honestly don't remember much bullying in school. Maybe I was just oblivious but most of the time people just minded their own business
There wouldn't be gun violence if there was rape.
you see?
noise. just endless noise.
distracting. confusing.
it never goes away.
you can be alone in your room and it somehow persists.
why?
because we are terrified of the silence.
terrified of the emptiness.
> why?
>because we are terrified of the silence.
>terrified of the emptiness.
?
Static impotently standing around while they were beating the shit out of Jimmy really screws with the moral.
