The white trash revival they were trying to push around the time of this movie, dukes of hazard, my name is Earl, simple life etc etc never really took off. About 20 years ahead of its time.
Nobody really hated Bush when this came out in 2001 it wasn't until after 9/11 and everything went to shit. Joe Dirt came out like 3 or 4 months into his presidency.
It was poorly received by critics, but most people I talked to loved it and it's still remembered fondly. It's indeed kino and arguably David Spade's best role
Absolute kino, I remember watching it with my dad in 2001 at a hotel in San Diego while on vacation. We ordered room service and wanted to watch a movie and selected this on the room tv because it looked funny, and damn was it memorable. We still quote it from time to time.
I've only seen the sequel, I liked the part where the guy tries the popcorn trick and his whole family jerks him off. I've also only seen dumb and dumber too, I liked the memory machine but other then those two gags I didn't like them so much.

This is a good point. I think Joe Dirt would be extremely well received if it were released now.
Dude, my name is earl was huge
It was just Hollywood trying to cash in on Bush-era republicans. They hate you.
If that's what they were trying to do they failed and made something great

Goodbye Horses
Keep that skoal, baby.
I want to chew tobacco and learn to talk to women just to try this.
When asking how anything works my friends and I all still say, "Well how does positrack on the rear end of a plymouth work? It just does."
Probably because Kid Rock is in it

>(You)
>SHOW ME THEM BOOBIES
>luckily my neck broke my fall
It ended being a lot more heartfelt than I expected
I love this movie. It has so many funny sequences. I once met Brandy at a comicon. She is so damn gorgeous in person.
>tfw you find out there's two Brandys
Life's a garden, ya dig it. Gotta keep on keepin' on.
it's fun. won't watch the sequel
incest part remains with me daily. thank you jaime pressly for taking this role. brandy is no match for you
most farfetched part of this movie is that he could afford a Dodge Daytona and a hemi
Is that the car that was gifted to him?
He didn't buy it in that case
You ain't got no whistling bungholes? No roman candles? Black cats? Crap flappers? Lady fingers? Snicker bombs? Zippity doo das?
Husker Du's? Husker Dont's?
Always enjoyed it. Sort of a low brow half-assed Forrest Gump comedy with good gags, lovable characters and just fun.
Fun isn’t allowed these days, unfortunately.
I see nipples
Big brown beautiful nips
DEF LEPPERD SUCKS!
It’s a space peanut
We call em Boeing bombs *wink*
She's a coal burner btw.
Love it and love David Spade and am not ashamed to admit it
DUDE, YOU WERE EATING OFF IT!

I saw this on tv once as a kid and thought it was hilarious. Haven't seen it since but it'll always be based in my book.
