It's okay if you're just reading for the lore but storytelling could've been better.

that about sums up most warhammer stories.

one thing for certain though, the language of the imperium is better written than spoken, learned that the hard way after watching the official cartoons

I thought it was setting up the rookie sister as an important character but turns out she was merely a plot device, and only for 2/5 books. She was also as green in the end as she was at the beginning, there's no character development for anyone. I guess that's just what you'd expect from a short run.

Technically, because the Immortal God-Emperor of Man is no mere man but the apex of male, the alpha of alpas, the chad of chads.

So, did the 40k comics not sell at all? Why did Marvel stop making them?

I think so, it might not have been a big loss for GW too since we all know they'd rather produce all these comics, books, and TV show stuff on their own, like it or not.

Anywho, I admit I don't know much SoB stuff.
Nuns with guns and fire, Vandire was a c**t, love the Emperor, sometimes a Saintess shows up.
But, like, how do they operate? Are they like a Marine Chapter that gets called in to battles? Do they, lore-wise, deal with one enemy exclusively or they fight Tau and Chaos alike?
Are they the same 'rank' as Marine (special super soldiers) or closer to Guardmen?

Sisters operate in a fricky place. Bear in mind that I'm way behind on the lore and it's probably even frickier now than when I was into 40K.

Sisters are closer to Guardsmen than Marines. Sisters don't have the legal distinctions and authority that Marines do. But they're more elite than most Guardsmen, and the sisters fall under the authority of the Ecclesiarchy rather than whatever branch of the Imperium the Guard falls under.

There's also a lot less Sisters around than Guardsmen. Sisters kind of operate like Marines, although there's combat Sisters and non-combat Sisters. Sisters are organised into distinct groups that operate like Marine Chapters, sort of. A Sister's "Chapter" will be combat or non-combat. The combat ones go wherever to fight. I don't think they have the level of autonomy that most Marines do - they can't just decide to show up wherever the frick they like or frick off and do their own thing while worlds burn if it suits them (i.e. Dark Angels fricking off because they heard rumours of a Fallen a system over).

They also fight whoever. The fight Tau, Chaos, Tyrannids, Orks, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Heretics, Renegades, Xenos, those new dwarfs with a fricking gay-ass name and even homosexualier lore, the Imperium, Space Marines, Guardsmen, Sisters of Battle, Chaos. You name it they fight it.

Sorta kinda not really. The league of Votann are dwarves with cyberdwarf waifus that revere blogposts of their grandparents. They hold grudges but are also quick to ally with people if they find something to benefit from it, and are also quick to betray if they find that it's more beneficial to do that.

      >But, like, how do they operate?
They're the armed wing of the Church of the Emperor
      >Are they like a Marine Chapter that gets called in to battles?
No they usually get called in a deal with a "lack of faith" that turns into an armed Uprising
      >Do they, lore-wise, deal with one enemy exclusively or they fight Tau and Chaos alike?
They deal with any xeno and they usually fight Chaos Cultist, typically human cultist
      >Are they the same 'rank' as Marine
No Astartes are considered "demi-gods" in 40k and trans-human
      >or closer to Guardmen?
Kinda, but a Guardsman and Sisters scope are different. It's not so much the Battles they get called in to deal but more of the reason.

        >>No Astartes are considered "demi-gods" in 40k and trans-human
I thought only the primarchs were considered demi-gods and the Marines were just considered... well I suppose 'heroes' would be the best term.
... Which I guess would make the Adeptus Custodes something more... divine attendants?

In 30K the Primarchs are "demi-gods", in 40k, most of humanity isn't even aware of the primarchs, they just see Girlyman as the Emperors only son. But that might change with the Lion returning
