From one to ten what is your rating?
3/10 maybe 4 I don't know
Meh. Long ass toes.
I just felt so empty during the scene where Kens are happily serenading Barbie on the beach, and the narration is the Barbie's saying that they're going to emotionally manipulate them at their happiest moment into fighting each other.
You don’t know how you’d rate it? 3/10 MAYBE 4? But you don’t know? Opinion discarded. Wishy washy gay.
I don't rate movies homosexual.
I watch them and if I like them I remember them.
I feel 3 for how garbage the script and messages were, but maybe 4 for how enjoyable Gosling is at times.
It's the beginning. It isn't said, but it's implied.
Narrator says being a mom is only fun for a while.
>It's the beginning. It isn't said, but it's implied.
that's incredibly fricked up
It is.
It made me a redpiller. I was all for women being equal to men going in, but now that I see what they do with power, they aren't to be trusted.
The narration. And the monologues. Mother and daughter have some and they're terrible.
But most of the dialogue besides Ken lines are forgettable.
Infinite really. Couldn't keep count.
It's a 2001 parody scene of little girls playing with baby dolls, then Barbie appears as the monolith and the girls smash the baby dolls. All it is is a metaphor on how versatile and successful Barbie is. With a baby doll you can't really do anything else with it than pretend to be a mom. Barbie has much more variety. That's what the whole "being a mom is only fun for so long" line is about. You guys are fricking unhinged with your culture war schizo theories.
Women should be mothers
>Narrator says being a mom is only fun for a while.
Yea sounds like something a corporate-backed “feminist,” global-capitalist white woman would write. Love their superiority more than they love their own children, truly cursed women.
Anytime a movie parodies an infinitely better movie, I know it's bad.
She's the one with the monologue. The
>men historically and commonly want you to be pretty, but not to pretty to tempt them, and life is so hard
speech.
“Being a mom is only Fun for a while”
Jesus Christ they’re actually trying to ruin families
Why do they keep trying to brainwash people they dont want to start a family?
It's a mystery.
you know why. Less white people.
Only white people. They want non-whites to keep popping out kids who can then be brainwashed into hating white people and supporting the violent slaughter of all whites on Earth.
Dont be a tool, nobody thinks you are cool.
This movie actually hates men. Not in a "men are holding us back, fight for what's right" kind of way, like it just thinks they're stupid and disposable and naive for thinking they deserve to be loved. It tries to be "fair" to them and that just makes it worse. It's casual, bored hatred, and I understand why it made you sad, it did me too.
It's the girl version of Beau is Afraid, doubly so because where Beau gets absolutely demolished, Barbie gets everything she wants
Hollywood deserves to collapse
beau is afraid is kino though
Imagine if a woman wrote it. The mom would've been the hero
i dunno my mom hates her mom, but yes, i think what makes beau great is it's very centered on male difficulties
>beau is afraid
tell me how its related anon, I actually want to know
Both are about a character who lives in a very cloistered and controlled environment whose life is upended by the whims of a godlike female character who lives far away from them and who are both plagued by anxiety and thoughts of death. They both go on journeys to find the godlike female and encounter "helpful" characters who are attempting to trap and control them, as well as random strangers they find threatening and overwhelming. Both characters are aggressively antagonized by a middle school aged character and pursued by a vaguely militaristic character. Both end with an all-powerful matriarch being the vessel the character meets their ultimate fate through. Both movies are overstuffed with ideas, disjointed and surreal, and revel in long stretches emphasizing the artificiality of the character's world, and both are deeply concerned with identity and gender roles.
ty
alright I'm sold. Only kino can elissit that strong and pathetic of an emotional reaction as you have just described.
how were her feet?
how many feet scenes?
she's got nice toes
Two. They're all in the trailer.
It's unbearable.
It's just like, what do we do at this point?
When Barbie's are ruling, men aren't even allowed in their mansions.
But Kens rule, and they let Barbie's in for boys night and share their passions with them.
And somehow that's bad.
I really hope Mattel goes bankrupt and gets brought out by Namco Bandai
you realize warnerbros is the producer right?
You realize Mattel approved this right?
people who are actually involved with the creative side takes more blame
Didn't Mattel used to be so protective of their IP and brand image they wouldn't let Barbie be used in the first Toy Story movie? I can't believe they let this shit get greenlit.
I'm honestly not making this shit up, apparently Margot Robbie convinced Mattel that this will make billion dollar at the box office that's how she got the Barbie IP for her production company
I think how well Pixar handled Barbie is probably what inspired them to okay a movie... But then they ended up with this shit. If they'd let Pixar (at least at the time) do a spin off movie it probably would've been very good. This one will do great anyway though, my theater was packed with women fricking dressed in pink, some in straight up prom dresses, I'm talking dozens of them for multiple shows. The movies going to be a hit, at least for this weekend.
"live action" should've been the first giant red flag that it would be shit, I agree Pixar in their prime could've done a good job. An animated film for children but that nostalgic adults could also enjoy would be the ideal way to do a Barbie movie.
lol
Why does she look like such shit compared to Wolf of Wall Street
It isn't WB is the distributor, movie is produced Margot's production company
Are you serious? They literally have the women enacting segregation and that’s somehow good??
What the fuuuuuck
No shit, woke people want revenge against “oppressor groups” and fully intend to take it to the furthest extent they possibly can. In terms of racial wokeness (which is what they’ve been overall pushing loudest and hardest), that means violent extermination of whites. For gender wokeness, feminist c**ts like Gerwig would gladly kill all men if they could, but they’re unable to do so and too lazy to try.
>how many feet scenes?
Not OP but there is a whole sequence in the beginning about her feet.
That's like 95% of the words spoken in the movie.
Break it down brotha.
What was bad about it
Any sex scenes?
Haven't seen it yet, do they talk about feminist and patriarchy shit??
The word feminism is used within the first five minutes, and that guy who said if you took a shot everytime they say patriarchy you'd die wasn't joking
is it true that there's a scene of little girls smashing up their dolls and saying they don't have to be mothers
Literally first scene, a parody of the monkey sequence in A Space Odyssey.
Narrator 'recalls a time when the only dolls little girls could play where babies and play-pretend to be mothers'.
when was this supposed to be? 19th century? the message is like 150 years too late. suffrage found its roots in the 1890s
It doesn't mention a particular time frame.
all time frames? which century did the dolls exist in? girls have had whatever dolls to play with for a long time now. companion dolls are normal and they even made them in tribal times
raggedy ann's are wholesome
if you think they're wholesome you should see some of the cherokee dolls. made with love.
These people fight the same already-won battles over and over.
That’s the left’s entire MO, create problems to justify its existence
You do realize why Barbies were made right?
I thought this was supposed to be a fun light hearted comedy? Why is everything a fricking psyop?
It’s America. Women are extremely manipulatable and white women are especially easy to play through their sense of superiority, it’s why they were elevated. Can’t be the most important demographic of voters and consumers in a country like America and not be aggressively manipulated, but their superiority gets fingered so they’re fine with selling their spirit, don’t have the foresight to see themselves in the cultural guillotine to politically energize the new majority.
Erm.. ok?
true
That scene is comedy you dunce, you tell me what a giant bimbo barbie monolith is supposed to play as
I didn't watch the movie homosexual
The goal of critical theory is to make everything about critical theory. So then you can become a critical theorist and corrupt other things with critical theory. It’s a social virus.
that version died with amy schumer
You know ~~*why*~~…
Maybe it was just saying that girls wanted more variety in their dolls and Barbie as a brand found success in a market oversaturated with baby dolls... nah it must be cultural subversion.
It's both.
They literally make the statement.
This is garbage doll history, there were fashion dolls and not just baby dolls before Barbie.
>Narrator 'recalls a time when the only dolls little girls could play where babies and play-pretend to be mothers'.
you know, i have a daughter and she is one year, 3 months old, she picks her dolls and pretends to be a mom too, this isnt "because of barbie", this is an instinct they have
It was in the fricking teaser moron
Still not watching it, shill.
>he fell for the meme
did you leave the movie with internalized misogyny or have you finally learned what toxic masculinity is and have you decided to better yourself?
Frick you, Gretta. Your Mattel-Chevrolet commercial is horrible.
Which dialogues are particularly bad?
how many times is "patriarchy" mentioned?
How much did you pay for the ticket and how much do you get paid per post/thread created on Cinemaphile?
Did the Goose let us down?
He was funny and great in certain scenes, but they made him very feminized in the beginning and end.
Sobbing like a little girl and saying that leading isn't fun.
No. A woman mentions the Snyder Cut joke.
>Sobbing like a little girl and saying that leading isn't fun.
I thought this was just him coping, because he says the mini fridges freezer was bad but also amazing. I figured it was just playing into the dumb stereotype that men hide their feelings to look stronger, and he didn't want to admit to Barbie how he truly felt
Yeah, that's how I read it too, him telling Barbie what he thought she'd like hearing
Yeah. A part of me hoped at some point Barbie was going to call off the coup and just try to rationalize with Ken, talk to him about how he doesn't like being number 2 and having no security but that only kind of sort of happens after they've already broken Ken. While Ken realized the power of his bros, they're still sort of second fiddle now with a little more power. They have identity, but still lack security I imagine, and the only Barbie he was really into leaves him to the human world (granted, I don't think Ken wanted to really put in the work to become a Doctor or whatever but damn).
He's the only watchable thing in the movie.
Ken's are relegated beings in Barbieland (Barbie reveals she doesn't even know where Ken's live, because every Barbie has a house), and when Goose goes to the 'real world' he gets instantly fascinated with 'patriarchy' and steals books from a school library on 'how to be a man'. Goes back to Barbieland and teaches his peers on the wonders of masculinity, and they overrule Barbieland.
Don't know the rest because I didn't bother and leave the theatre.
What fricking delusion do these feminist morons have that public or school libraries would have MRA books? Most library have been purged of non-woke texts. This entire movie is life-on-tutorial-mode feminist women
>crying out in pain as they strike you.
Is there a rendition of Aqua's Barbie Girl?
Did ken watched 300? Was it kino?
are there any highlights? any parts you enjoyed?
The patriarchy being enacted scenes were fun.
Some parts is just being able to take a joke.
"Funny buff stupid guy" shit, that's okay.
But I really think the coldness Barbie's show Kens in the beginning, contrasted with the way Kens seem to want to be around Barbies all the time during their reign, is really unfortunate.
I also think it wants equality, but also just wants women to be a little bit more in power.
It just sets up strawmen about generalized behavior, debunks them, and then says, "the world should be run this way to avoid said strawmen."
And the strawmen are all against men, and when it comes to Barbie's problems, it's only because she's so perfect and beautiful.
No. Gosling does. Limu is pretty bland.
he said he liked Ryan Gosling as Ken in some scenes pay attention
I didn't ask you, homosexual, but thanks for playing. get off op's dick and stop answering for him.
Any of the music numbers were very fun. And enjoyable. Any scene with goose was fun.
The movie stops for an extended and pretty fun goose musical number in the second half
Also he has hilarious reactions throughout
Is the men hate really that bad? I was going to see it with my friends this weekend thinking it was going to be another Mario movie (chill, fun time, nothing complex or serious) and this week I only have heard all this feminist, Barbie hating, crazy director, misandrist shit
Is it really that bad? Or is it only chuds doing chuddie things?
What the frick is wrong with you zoomers that you're going to these trash films? Black person moron
It's chuds chuddling.
The lesson is men shouldn't be defined by women and women shouldn't be defined by men. Barbie literally admits to being in the wrong.
If anything the movie is bimboification propaganda
>Barbie admits to being wrong
She says she's sorry to Ken for taking him for granted.
She starts the movie saying
>I'm Barbie and I help women irl and women can do anything and irl land is perfect!
To realizing
>I'm no longer Barbie but I sometimes help women irl and women can do anything and irl land is alright
It's all about her.
Her problems irl are caused by men, and the problems she put onto others is from the expectations of men put onto Barbie.
Ken is bad because he's inherently only dependent on Barbie to have value and needs to go do something else because she doesnt like him.
>Ken is bad because he's inherently only dependent on Barbie to have value and needs to go do something else because she doesnt like him.
Worst part is he was literally created for that purpose, he says it in those words, and it's true. The movie keeps trying to have it both ways on every issue and sometimes nearly says it explicitly, America's whole rant is about that and is what wakes all the brainwashed Barbies up. The moral of the movie is TRULY representative of what women believe and the classic green text we all know: what's right is what a woman wants right now, always. The movie has a schizophrenic vibe and near literally tells you not to think too much about things, like them totally dismissing explaining how Barbie land works in the corporate HQ scenes
What doesn't work for me is that it's trying to make a message about gender equality with a character INVENTED as an accessory for Barbie, and comparing him to how women at one time in history were treated a bit unfairly.
It just doesn't match.
The solution for Ken is, idk do what you want but don't try to conquer women.
And the solution for Barbie is, go above and beyond all expectations and maybe one day Kens will be in equal power if the real world gives women equal rights also.
It's not pretty.
It's bland, at the expense of men.
If you've seen it, can you explain to me how it isn't?
Maybe I'm overreacting.
>It's bland, at the expense of men.
Just watch the movie if you care so much you pearl clutching homosexual. Barbie literally apologises to ken in the end.
I'm OP you ape. I've seen it.
She apologized for "taking him for granted".
That's it.
But he didn't do anything for her. They had no jobs in Barbieland.
He just existed, and she didn't want to be around him.
So it was in reference to how much he cared for her. That she took his kindness for granted.
Her apology is
>Sorry I treated you like shit because you were nice to me but I don't like you so find yourself without me
That's fine, but the movie spends the entire runtime vilifying him and rarely criticizing Barbie.
Ken is not vilified the ken song is literally there to tell braindead people like you masculinity is fine. Hes just a child with childish ideas same as barbie. The movie is about barbie growing up, I assume the sequel we will see the same as ken. Maybe the barbie movie went over you seething homosexual heads.
>sequel
lol buddy, lets just see if it makes the $150 million budget and $150 million marketing budget back first
>Ken is not vilified
He is the antagonist at the end of the film.
He takes over Barbieland, makes a patriarchy, and the Barbie's have to form a team to foil his plan so he can't change the constitution.
How are you this dense?
And then he denounces it. Because even when Ken's rule their entire sense of self is still about being desired by Barbie.
How are you missing the obvious metaphors with the Ken take over. Like bro. Did you actually watch the movie or larping? The actual villain's are the board room meeting execs. Ken is just a child throwing a tantrum he doesn't know any better, he isn't doing it out of malice every ken loves there barbie and wants the best for them but barbies are selfish. The kens are the victims in the story you fricking idiot. They literally want equal rights.
>The actual villain's are the board room meeting execs
Who are trying to give Barbie exactly what she wants, for things to go back to normal by putting her in her original box, basically rebooting her brain. Only she inexplicably doesn't want it anymore once they're about to give it to her.
Is the hero's journey too difficult for you to understand?
>but I don't like you so find yourself without me
>That's fine, but the movie spends the entire runtime vilifying him and rarely criticizing Barbie.
And all the third act problems are the RESULT of him finding himself and trying to remake his life into being about his needs and the things he likes and cares about, but they're things the Barbies don't like so they have to go back to normal and him "finding himself" is things just going back to the way they were, where barbieland is exclusively about Barbies and he's expected to either love their shit or frick off
>him "finding himself" is things just going back to the way they were
I like how they portrayed him finding self-worth in our world was chuddy. Joe Roegan, Peterson, Zack Snyder's justice league.
>Peterson
Does he actually get name dropped in the movie?
No, neither does Rogan, and the Snyder thing is mentioned but in a completely different context. Dude is literally just making shit up.
>It's all about her.
It's her fricking movie.
I wasn't saying it as a bad thing.
It's all about her, leads into, her problems are...
That's where my problems lie.
With the portrayal of her problems.
Ignore this guy he never watched the movie or is just braindead. Her problems are America Ferrera problems since shes the one with the barbie. Which basically triggers barbies existential crisis.
>Ken is bad because he's inherently only dependent on Barbie to have value
Yes, the """elites""" did not give any value to Ken. They know women make them money, so they only care about women, not the well-being of men.
The last 10 minutes is "Men should sieze their idea of self from the elites and women should become mothers." Probably one of the most trad final lessons in movies within the last 13 years
But Ken is super successful.
His house sells off the charts. Warner Bros is planning a movie for him.
The CEO says
>Money doesn't matter I got into this for little girls dreams
But then goes on to basically shit all over Barbie and the mother in the final scenes.
So it's obvious he was lying.
>Get value from the elites
But you said the elites didn't value him?
How is that trad?
The women all get their jobs back, and the only pregnant Barbie is treated as a joke.
Where are they encouraged to be mothers?
>Where are they encouraged to be mothers?
You gonna pretend like the plot doesn't revolve around America Ferrera being a mother.
She asks for a doll to be made that is maybe just an ordinary mom that is successful but not too pretty and okay with not being special because it's okay to be a mom but also to not be a mom.
There's far more condemnation of motherhood than outright embracing of it.
She just wants to feel good. homosexual it was realistic instead of saying everyone is special in there own way bs. All she wants is to feel special and thats fine. Barbie has the same arc she chooses to just be a normal woman. Why is this a bad thing? You wanted some girl boss ending?
>homosexual it was realistic instead of saying everyone is special in there own way bs.
"being a mother is good" is not the same as everyone is special in their own way shill.
You are literally mentally ill, braindamaged, or an ESL.
>Ken is super successful
Yes, the CEO was presented as a buffoon. He was intentionally stupid. That's how he was written. It's a comedy, and he is satirizing out of touch CEOs.
>So it's obvious he was lying
No fricking shit you moron. The fact that you took that scene as him being honest is what makes me 90% sure you're an ESL or autistic. It was all a rehearsed statement - and he STARTS by saying he had a prepared response.
>>Get value from the elites
I said SIEZE THEIR IDEA OF SELF from the elites. The elites treat men as disposable, and it's up to the Kens to not wait around for value from people who see them as inherently worthless.
>Where are they encouraged to be mothers?
The ENTIRE ENDING.
Jesus christ they should ban whatever fricking country you're posting from.
>CEO is stupid
Okay? That's what I said.
>SEIZE THEIR IDEA OF SELF FROM THE ELITES
The stupid idiots?
>It's up to the kens to not wait for value from people who see them as worthless
But Ken is made as a doll to be with Barbie.
It was this film's choice for Barbie's to not be in love with Kens and treat them like animals.
I get this is just a story choice, but the story they chose for Kens was
>the character which has always loved Ken doesn't love Ken, treats him like shit, gets pissy when he revolts, manipulates him when he's happiest, and then says, "Damn, sorry I took you for granted. Still don't like you and I'm leaving."
And y'know, the end message would be fine.
If they didn't spend the whole movie blaming problems women have on men, and then only giving men a
>Yeah sorry we we took you for granted, but you're still going to be oppressed
>still about being desired by Barbie
It was about being somebody. Running things. A part of it was being desired by Barbie, but another part of it was doing cool shit he liked. Like watching The Godfather, listening to Lou Reed, lifting weights, having boys night, living in a house, being treated as an equal.
It wasn't all about wanting Barbie.
I never said Ken wasn't a victim.
I said the film portrays him as a villain.
If he was truly a victim, why would the film end with Barbies telling Kens
>No you can't do what you want because the real world treats women badly, so when the real world gets fixed you'll get what you want
When did men do that to women in the apparent terrible patriarchy?
Goddamn you're all NPCs.
No wonder you liked this flick.
>When did men do that to women in the apparent terrible patriarchy?
Islam is right about women
Sharia law promises women that when a magical land is fixed they can have equal rights?
20 years of American ''''''feminism'''' yet they failed in Afghanistan.
Women wanted the end result.
>Women wanted the end result.
Women have no rights. Only men can give women rights. They right these girl boss fantasy films but when war time comes the curl up in a ball and flee the country. They had to beg men for rights and like cucks men said OK fine here you go.
I mean, shit, it's as simple as this.
>Kens are oppressed and want to have jobs, be liked by Barbie, and be equal. This is a reflection of women in the 50s and also a projection of how shallow men viewed women's desires combined with the modern problem plaguing men of loneliness
>Barbie is perfect, but her human is imperfect. She rules in Barbieland, with houses, jobs, and unappreciated attention. This is reflective of men in the 50s, and how men didn't appreciate their wives? I need a citation on how prevalent that was.
>Real woman's problems regarding Barbie stem from Barbie being pretty and not everyone looking like Barbie, even though the beginning of the movie tells us that there's a Barbie made for everyone and that fits every job.
>All female problems in the world are caused by the ambiguity of behavior relating to men's perception, which also falls on Barbie, and is men's fault
So Ken's exist a proxy for women's problems, which also cover the problem of how women are annoyed by men wanting them, and the solution is
>Figure yourself out without bothering us
which is also a callback to the 50s where girls had to stop waiting around waiting for respect, so it isn't even a sole goal for men to have.
And the woman solution is
>Beat the patriarchy by being yourself, support all women, don't hold yourself to male standards, do whatever you want, be whatever you want, being a mother is okay, but not being one is awesome too, you can pretty much do whatever you want
Whereas Kens can't, because
>women in the real world are oppressed so you can't serve on the court
The only way this works is if Barbieland, the reverse of the real world, is truly IDENTICAL to the real world.
But...it isn't.
Men and women are equal.
Women are super fricking powerful. They can have any job.
But in Ken land, the one job they want isn't available to them, and then have to
>start from the bottom
Explain to me how this in no way is against or unfair to men.
This post reads like Philip K. Sick and perhaps this film is a covert advertisement for CAN-D rather than a doll
Does the movie ever reference that Barbie originated irl from German dolls with the same face/build who portrayed a high priced escort, and the dolls were originally sold exclusively to men?
Can anons confirm if these German dolls were the product of the Weimar Republic pre-WWII? With this movie that would make for an epic knot of post modern doom.
It would not surprise me in the slightest if they were Weimar shit.
>Ken is bad because he's inherently only dependent on Barbie to have value and needs to go do something else because she doesnt like him.
They already did this as a joke in the "Life in the Dreamhouse" show where Ken tries a bunch of different jobs/skills only to find he sucks at all of them and finally accepts that he's only good at being Barbie's boyfriend.
Except in that show it was actually funny.
Are feminist discourses intelligent?
Not damn bad
SEX WITH SKIRTS
honestly can't believe the amount of regular type str8men that are seeing this movie
They are morons wanting to be part of the meme and cucks mostly
>part of the meme
god gays that will go see a movie for that type of reason are so cringy and theres so many on here
It's actually enraging on an inarticulate level
I was going to go see it for Ryan Gosling.
But then it turned out to be feminist propaganda. Passed. Stayed home and jacked off.
You should see it. Lots of hot women were in my theater dressed like Barbie (loose) so lots to add to the spank bank
Frick off shill homosexual.
Instead of paying for a ticket and rewarding the people who made this garbage movie, just hang out outside the theater and ogle the chicks as they leave- it’s be easier to do that anyway when they’re not sitting in the dark.
99% of modern men are cucks.
Does Simu Liu basically give an A-List performance and basically steal the show in this movie? I heard he leads the Ken revolt right?
The start was bad but then I felt like it was going places, ended up tanking the last 3rd into misandrist garbage
Why are you sad? Is it because of the movie?
He explains it well.
I don't understand why anyone expected anything different.
I was expecting a foot fetish movie.
Is America Ferrera's performance as amazing as everyone is saying? Is he going to win an Oscar for this?
>he
SHE!!! SHE!!! SHE"S a woman!
Without irony, do you think this movie will become the worst of the year?
It's fricking close so far.
It's a bit worse than Indy.
Mine was solid, but I think it's because it was the final showing of my local theater before it closes tomorrow.
Was the theater empty? Is the boycott actually working?
Is the new goose personality worth downloading?
It feels undercooked
I see i see. I will stick to the old personality then.
Did the audience clap at the end? That's what really matters. It tells us how good it was.
Everyone stood up and left in silence.
Yes. Maybe months.
>Everyone stood up and left in silence.
Did they stay for a stinger? If they didn't, then that's a bad sign.
Will all the right wing grifters on twitter and YouTube be b***hing about it for a week straight and be mostly correct in their assessment?
It has begun.
The Taliban succeeded where Ken failed
Matty is right , If you expected a fun lighthearted comedy in the current year you should really see the writing on the wall
I hate the term "woke"
"pozzed" fits better and is 10x funnier
It needs to be switch up and changed to something else like when SJW turned to woke.
why not 'suicide' considering people who support woke are suicidally stupid
Nah, that doesn't work. Whenever I'm in a position to use 'woke', I use 'delusional' instead. Because it is true and makes then think they are being gaslit, which is funny.
These people just write this stuff to get engagement. One of The main characters is a mother. The movie is about her feeling lost as an adult so she plays with her barbies remembering her childhood.
No, that’s what the movie should be about. Instead it’s about her blaming men for everything that goes wrong with her life and fighting to, ironically, do to the Kens what she thinks men do to women in the real world. Remove her and her shitty daughter and you could have a great comedic movie about equality and respect, instead we get yet another monologue about how hard being a woman is ;_;
I guess this chud wants a monopoly on young girl's time for...reasons
Cuckservatives are israelited shabbos goys. The ONLY based stance is a Tom Metzger-type third position that’s far-left on economic issues and far-right on social issues. A socialist of the national variety, if you will.
>I'm honestly sad so I wanna talk
Why would you be sad? You are the target demographic how did it not appeal to you?
I'm not a woman, a homosexual, a feminist, or a leftist.
How was it my target audience?
You were stupid enough to watch it and have expectations. Your a normalhomosexual.
have you googled "barbie" yet?
It was that bad? My gf wants to go see this crap. She already made me see The Green Knight which was horrendous
It's bad.
Sorry I still have hope in decency. One day it will be rewarded.
No.
The final message is, "men and women can be what they want to be unconnected from others".
But it gets there with a lot of shitting on men.
Eh. I didn't see much of that. Race was never brought up except for a white saviour joke.
>Sorry I still have hope in decency
And yet you went to see an indecent movie, curious.
It's easy to label something without giving it a chance. I thought Little Women was solid to be honest.
It was weird it wasn't like to shit on her but more unironically exclaimed as if it was a good thing but obviously I don't think the audience was supposed to find it good.
Have fun I guess.
>It's easy to label something without giving it a chance
You're right, brb gonna go dial up my dealer get myself a couple of 8 balls. I really shouldn't judge hard drugs without giving them a chance.
One is scientifically provable and common throughout history.
The other is a movie never made before and never released before that we have to judge through two minutes of edited footage.
Sure I guess if your 15 and have no life experience. Those of us who have been alive longer than the twin towers have been down can see the lines in the matrix. It's really very simple but you have to learn to look at the bigger picture. If you can't see a trailer and know in the first 10 seconds what the propaganda is going to be than the propaganda was made for you.
>muh matrix
Literal moron
>he can't understand basic analogy
glass houses my friend
>Race was never brought
>except when it was brought up to shit on white people
huh
i liked green knight, had big last temptation vibes
You should break up with your gf since she’s clearly addicted to pozzed anti-male anti-white (in the case of Green Knight) garbage made by people who hate you and want you killed.
are you going to have a nice day?
Did it make you feel bad about being a man? Did it feel like all the theater was laughing at you? Does the message "men are either stupid or losers" is really in this movie?
Does this post on pol have merit?
Ah so it's this satanic crap all over again
I miss this guy, I know he's still doing his thing on one of those alt sites but it's just not the same.
Kek call your mom you chud freak.
Afraid of someones opinion you can't oppress? That isn't very inclusive of you my friend.
I will make fun of you and you will internalize it and you will think about it as you fall asleep alone as you will every night for the rest of your life
You got me, but actually I'm thinking about those Bush's baked beans. Can't get enough of them.
You're not kidding, Pleasantville is just a fricking evil movie by horrible people
>the only problem with woman rule is because it's the wrong color of woman!
what an absolute fricking joke of a board.
That’s clearly what leftists sincerely believe you disingenuous homosexual.
What was the last line?
>I'm here to see my gynecologist.
Thanks anon
>this is what all the roasties on Twitter are freaking out about
If you had to go to a doctor to get your penis inspected you’d probably be nervous too
I have been to the doctor to both have my balls inspected and have my butthole inspected and I don't make a big song and dance about it.
My doc just didn't do it because it didn't actually prevent detection or deaths.
>>this is what all the roasties on Twitter are freaking out about
Barbie is a literal child mate.
Connect each pair of geometric vertices of an n-dimensional hypercube to obtain a complete graph on 2n vertices. Colour each of the edges of this graph either red or blue. What is the smallest value of n for which every such colouring contains at least one single-coloured complete subgraph on four coplanar vertices?
8.5/10 from me. Performances are all great. Could have used more dance numbers. The music and choreography was great.
I think they should have exorcised the "real world" characters, Will Ferrell, the mom, and the daughter don't really do anything besides just dump exposition.
Cool, mind posting the link to your reddit post? I would like to give them some gold for that review.
>leftist troons go see the Barbie movie expecting it to be a social commentary about how they are oppressed and it's all white men's fault
>turns out it's just a silly comedy
>troons get mad, movie drops hard
on first weekend
>chuds realize this and start buying tickets
>movie becomes a box office success, grossing around 2 million
>grossing around 2 million
We can at least give it 6 million
Is it better than Clueless or Legally Blonde?
Wow I can't believe Greta Gerwig included heavy-handed feminist themes in her moving picture
Lady Bird was relatively tame, but then again it came out in 2017
Heavy-handed was a bit pejorative on my part, but she's definitely never obscured her feminism
Not a quality judgement here (I haven't seen it yet and am undecided on going), just saying I'm not going in expecting a message of male empowerment, you know
wait, the kid who b***hed about oil is the one who directed this movie? how old is she?
She’s like 18 but looks much younger due to her weird fetal alcohol and Down syndrome-like genetic disorders.
Was was the Snyder Cut joke?
A black Barbie gets un-brainwashed and says
>I did write a book once. But I had a bunch of thoughts surrounding Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League in my mind.
Or some shit, basically saying she was smart but thinking about Snyder made her dumb and controlled.
It's
>It's like I had a dream where I was really interested in the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
Which is cute and all till you remember Warner Bros. produced both Barbie and Justice League, so it's a very safe joke.
It is safe.
I'm 19.
I can tell, I just want to have hope.
I don't want to be a pessimist yet.
>I'm 19.
>I can tell, I just want to have hope.
>I don't want to be a pessimist yet.
Ah well it all makes sense now. Well good for you, hope was made for the young. Maybe you will be the one to turn things around. Keep that optimism burning as long as you can. But don't let it lead you into getting suckered so hard you can't come back.
I was a carefree person when I was your age, I'm really sorry you have bear with all this shit at you age now
There are days where I feel like I've got it the worst.
But at least I have a home, AC, food, water, family, friends, and the ability to search for a large amount of knowledge.
When I think about whether I want to be mentally challenged constantly or physically challenged constantly I choose mentally.
But that doesn't mean being a lazy bastard, kek.
The joke was the Snydercut is dudebro pseudo-intellectual cinema.
The other movie they use is The Godfather, which I think is a miss since Goodfellas is more accurate for those morons
Goodfellas is great though.
With some friends.
I'll do my best. Thanks anon.
Like the other anon said, it's a safe joke, meant to perk up ears and make articles.
>I did write a book once. But I had a bunch of thoughts surrounding Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League in my mind.
>Or some shit, basically saying she was smart but thinking about Snyder made her dumb and controlled.
Lmao is this real? Why would they make such an especific joke? I don't expect anyone to get it aside chuds that won't watch the movie btw
Because it was written by someone who works in the movie industry and is also on Twitter 20 hours a day, the Snyder Cut is their version of gamergate
The joke is literally "Young men are obsessed with this movie."
And that's not wrong. There was nothing else to it. Guys to this day are still obsessed with the Snydercut and the Snyderverse
You don't know anything about the Snyder Cut controversy. People IN Hollywood consider the movie's release and existence as the result of a coordinated online bullying campaign and a huge concession by their camp to toxic masculinity. They fricking hate that movie
Is that related to why Cavill's getting attacked so much recently?
A bit but that's mostly about Witcher. Most of the JL cast came out unscathed, "they were just doing their jobs". It doesn't effect the rest of DC either, nobody seemed to have an ideological problem with Flash, it was all specific to Justice League
Yes, but that's not the joke. The joke is the Snydercut is something men like.
Snydercut, Godfather, beers, exercise, Photoshop, bro time, and loose bimbos.
If you add heaps of dogshit unnecessary context onto everything, then you're not acknowledging the actual movie. Why stop at the Snydercut? Maybe it was an attack on Snyder. Maybe it was an attack on parents who have kids who commit suicide. Maybe it's an attack on mental health in the US. Maybe it's an attack on the insurance companies that guided the medical system to be what it is now. See? You're going full schizo on a line that is just "guys like this" in a movie that is filled with "guys like this" comments.
>The joke is the Snydercut is something men like
Is it liked by men more than other capeshit, though? I find that hard to believe.
Reminder that Snyder´s family watch Barbie animated movies at home, and now they are gonna see a live action Barbie where for no fricking reason at all they have to bring up justice league and take all the fun out if it.
>I'm honestly sad so I wanna talk.
I guess every one of those leaks were real and the reshoots didn't help huh?
what this movie is about?
Men bad
Did u go alone?
It's propaganda.
I thought this b***h was like 28. How is she 16? She's going to hit the wall by the time she's 17
why are white feminists so insufferable
Come on, let's not discriminate by skin color. They're ALL insufferable.
>le white people are le bad!
Frick off k i k e. As bad as white feminists are, black feminists are much worse. Woke Asians are among the most virulently and hatefully woke people out there for some reason, so they’re worse still. And as usual, k i k e feminists are the worst of all.
Both barbie and ken are kids since they're childrens toys barbie grows up and chooses to be a normal woman nothing special. She apologizes to ken. If they make a sequel it will probably focus on ken also growing up. The message is bland as toast, not sure how people are getting offended. Ken song is kino.
It's literal schizos getting offended.
Reminder this script is from 2016 so it makes sense why its so obvious with political shit
im sort of disappointed at the levels of right wing seethe at barbie sort of assumed thered be more literal shaking and tantrums
Doesn't it go against the message to not let at least one ken on the supreme court?
Feminists hate men and want revenge and supremacy, not equality. That’s exactly the message of the movie.
>that dashed line near "Asia"
this movie is going to do incredible box office in China
Ending was weird. Structurally in Barbieland it's not like the kens have much else. It's rigged against them to have anything to do or be in any position of power so the finding yourself scene was just sorta lame to me
Like cool, he's not just "beach" anymore but none of them are allowed to have a real job either
When did you first realize you were a homosexual?
When did you first realize you were trans?
I thought it was hot when all the Barbies became kenbawds
I want my own Barbie Slampig who rubs my feet haha
I could kind of see how that is the 9 dash line. but not really. There's another one going from America to Greenland. Unless Barbie takes place in the timeline Trump succeeded in buying that island.
Does Simu Liu really get raped by a bum? That's fricking bullshit right? As an alpha Asian male he would never fricking let that happen!
>OH NO my anti-motherhood, girlboss, misandrist slop doesn't like ME? a man?
>anti-motherhood
The movie is not that fricking moron, watch the movie
Some of the first lines are...
>being a mother is fun
>for a while
>ask your mother
Yeah, haha not anti-motherhood
>slow-mo sequence of little girls breaking the heads of baby dolls
Yeah...I love motherhood...
>"Wow Midge is fricking weird, right guys! She's pregnant!"
Haha, not anti-motherhood
>"I mean why isn't there a Barbie who's like an un-special, boring mom with a low paying job, because being a mom is okay, but not being a mom is definitely okay too!"
Yeah...ha ha...they really love motherhood...
>*entire part of the story is how the daughter is treating the mother like shit and they bond over defeating the patriarchal Ken*
Ha ha...yeah...motherhood is great...
And yet mother and mother barbie save the barbies
>mother
You mean the mexican woman who HAPPENED to be a mother, and her being a mother had nothing to do with the plot besides being a plot twist about who Barbie was looking for?
Her speech was about motherhood, or about womanhood?
What was it?
>mother barbie
Who is mother barbie?
Midge? She doesn't do shit.
Or the woman who made Barbie?
She doesn't save Barbie, she fricking dies.
She just helps Barbie come to terms with becoming human.
It's almost like motherhood played a role and didn't discourage or encourage girls to be mothers,i expected something more malicious tho
>played a role
How?
If I make a movie about men and a character happens to a father, and the character goes on a big rant about being a man without mentioning fatherhood, is fatherhood playing a role?
Or is it just there?
>only to have this dream crushed
I don't even see how the Barbie movie deals with that.
Barbie gets everything she wants.
>entitlement and repressed emotions
Ken's emotions aren't repressed.
He's very clear about them.
Barbie just doesn't care. In fact, he's too emotional.
The only reference to it is him crying at the end and not wanting to be seen and saying crying is unmanly, but that's AFTER the patriarchy shit.
Beforehand, he's apparently just as childish, which would be a result of his basic existence I suppose?
So the message for Barbie is
>women in the real world want you to think you can do whatever you want and you can but you won't have a perfect life like Barbieland
and the message for Ken is
>existing as Ken in Barbieland isn't perfect, and adopting how males think in the real world is just as toxic and you can only be saved by being yourself...which was apparently bad in the first place...but be yourself in the way Barbie tells you how to be yourself.
Wow. Great one.
Yeah it's really favorable to men.
Absolutely.
I recommend all men watch it.
Because it definitely chastises Barbie for being so shallow and mean to Ken.
By the fact that all Kens are rushing to Barbie for jobs and they're rejecting them.
in the movie, all kens are bumbling idiots who are the butt of the joke while all the barbie are smart independent womyn who'll never be the joke, guess which one and only barbie that was constantly made fun of?
yep, the pregnant one.
that's literally anti motherhood you fricking dumb israelite.
You fricking idiot I'm on your side that entire reply was sarcastic.
kek wrong reply, it was meant for
Ah.
Makes sense.
Sorry anon I should not have said the f-word to you.
You did not deserve such harshness.
Did they address the fact that Barbie is still a blonde white woman in the year 2023
Yes, the human teen calls her White Savoir Barbie as a joke
She has zero israeli you wienersucker!
Wow I can't believe how anti semetic this movie is.
kino where males get human rights when
Y'know what Cinemaphile's reaction to this film reminds me of? Gillette's infamous campaign. Both are misunderstood as attacks on men, when in fact they say that men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy when they deny any semblance of identity by latching on to their fragile masculinity. And I bet some of you gays got genuinely upset because this person is represented by literally (You)— Gosling.
And I say with no irony that Hari Nef was the hottest Barbie
>, when in fact they say that men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy when they deny any semblance of identity
If women got majority positions of power, would this same Matriarchy logic apply to them?
I mean, why wouldn't it.
>NOOOOO you can't make your identity what masculinity was for thousands of years because...uhm...you're actually being hurt by it! Yeah! Modern science says that men should be more emotional!
>What? Yes this was all started because of women's reaction to masculinity...b-but this is for YOU too!
Give me just one...one good fricking reason that having masculinity be a part of your identity is bad.
I said FRAGILE masculinity, dumbass. Ken was an utter manchild through the entire thing.
>All Kens are manchildren
How was Barbie immature then?
I saw both Barbie and Ken as reflections of society's children and how they're raised as people of their gender. Girls are told they can be anything they want, only to have this dream crushed by reality. Boys are fed the "boys will be boys" mantra and turn into unstable shells of entitlement and repressed emotions. It's kinda unfortunate that Ken stays that pathetic in the end, but both him and Barbie are basically walking their first steps. It's a coming of age story.
The movie ends with Ken watching Barbie leave forever (which he couldn't do earlier) wearing a shirt that says I AM KENOUGH. The message, that you should focus on what makes you happy, rather than simping for self absorbed women who disdain you, is pretty clear though it seems to have filtered out the midwits.
The movie is pro-KGTOW?!
>fragile masculinity
You mean that thing which means “literally anything I don’t like about men, who should absolutely conform to my expectations”?
>Gillette's infamous campaign
>misunderstood as attacks on men, when in fact they say that men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy when they deny any semblance of identity by latching on to their fragile masculinity
lmao
>in fact they say that men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy
kek, stop reading right there, good bait
>gilette were misunderstood
>men are victim of patriarchy
you should go back to /lgbt/ now, limp dicked homosexual
>men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy when they deny any semblance of identity by latching on to their fragile masculinity
Have you considered that the problem is that men aren't allowed to be masculine?
How are men not allowed to be masculine? Are there any specific examples of masculinity that aren't allowed?
You misunderstand, ugly to average men aren't allowed to be masculine. Attractive men are called "himbos" and are ruthlessly mocked in today's popular entertainment but perceived as innocent.
Define "be masculine"
Hit on women
What's masculine about that? It's just talking. Is it manly when a woman hits on a man?
Of course it is, stupid
>Are you manly if a woman is attracted to you?!
Yes. Because she's into men.
This is peak reddit discourse. Yes, approaching someone to frick is masculine behaviour and women despise having to do it.
You guys have to be zoomers.
>Define masculinity
Courage = perseverance in the face of near insurmountable odds
Synonym = having balls
Vs the mislead zoomer
>Slapping girls on the ass
In regards to slapping the asses of females who are total strangers, this is barnyard chattel behavior or g0yim m.o. that was always more common and instigated amongst lower races. Expected when in utmost moderation or rare drunk hijinks, but a man respects property above all, as it's the foundation of security and preservation. Property begins with the self. Violating the property of a girl's person jeopardizes the standard for yourself and your community. It also can reinforce psychological conditioning in a woman's choice of mating partners to favor the thug and brute of color, leading to dilution and a perpetuator of ill mating behavior. Also a good way to get shot.
Slapping women on the ass
I know this is bait but
>Gillette's infamous campaign. Both are misunderstood as attacks on men, when in fact they say that men are, in a way, victims of the patriarchy when they deny any semblance of identity by latching on to their fragile masculinity.
The first thing to note here is that you're talking about a profit-driven company that razors and other men's hygiene products. Why is it that they suddenly became concerned about patriarchy when for years they marketed their products as the "best a man can get"? It is instantly suspicious and in bad faith.
Second, men do not perceive themselves as victims in the same way. The might consider themselves as victims because of their boss, or because of the government but not because of "gender roles". If anything nowadays they are reprimanded for being too masculine.
Movie was co-written by her husband whose a israelite
Where does Barbie rank in her filmography
>https://www.timesofisrael.com/barbie-director-wants-viewers-to-feel-like-i-did-at-shabbat-dinner/
>‘Barbie’ director wants viewers to ‘feel like I did at Shabbat dinner’
>JTA — Barbie the doll has a deep israeli history. Now, the creator of “Barbie” the movie hopes watching the film will also evoke a deep israeli experience.
>Greta Gerwig, who conceived and directed the buzzy live-action film released this month, told The New York Times that she hopes watching the movie will be a quasi-spiritual activity for its viewers. The feeling she wants to achieve, she said, is the same one she felt as a child when she was a guest at the Shabbat dinners of close family friends who were observant israelites.
>At those dinners, she recalled, the father would include Gerwig as he blessed the children, a traditional element of Shabbat ritual. (Gerwig’s own family was Unitarian Universalist and she attended a Catholic high school, a period of her life that inspired her 2017 film “Lady Bird.”)
>“I remember feeling so safe in that and feeling so, like, enough,” she said. “I want people to feel like I did at Shabbat dinner. … I want them to get blessed.”
>Gerwig is winning acclaim for transforming Barbie from a stagnant symbol of capitalism and women’s oppression into a canvas for exploring self-discovery, through an accidental jaunt from the toy world into the real one. The movie’s lead writer, Noah Baumbach, is Gerwig’s israeli partner and co-parent. Its stars include israeli actress Rhea Perlman as the doll’s real-life israeli creator, Ruth Handler.
>The movie is the first for Mattel, the toy company Handler and her husband grew into an empire. Mattel has always closely guarded the Barbie brand, but under the leadership of the Israeli-American Ynon Kreiz, who has served as its CEO since 2018, it is loosening the reins.
>transforming Barbie from a stagnant symbol of capitalism and women’s oppression
>oppression
wat
was this person's family too poor to buy barbies and now they're bitter about it?
Fun fact: Barbie is a ripoff of a German doll based on a German comic strip, Bild Lilli, which israeli Ruth Handler saw when on vacation.
Every Single Time.
Only 2 replies to this post? How is that possible Cinemaphile.
How to justify your anger after reading that? It's their creation.
see
tldr
What was your favorite joke?
I liked the depressed Barbie that watches pride and prejudice. Felt just as pointed as the snyderverse jab
The mansplaining scenes with the barbies trying to distract the Ken's was pretty funny.
I laughed really loud when that guy slapped barbies ass
>Men saying or doing anything ever is mansplaining.
>The message of the movie is that men need to shut up and go away and be content to be unseen and unheard because women hate men for existing.
I Margot like the leader of the Barbies?
>I Margot
>Did like
Auto-Bots have arrived. Sloppy code.
Where my coomers at?
What outfits turned you on the most? That cowgirl barbie ass was magnificent
Did like the audience bust up laughing and applaud at the Snyder joke?
The audience was all women in their 20-40s, they have no idea who Zack Snyder is
Which mansplaining joke landed the best in your theater?
The one about photoshopped killed at mine
They didn't really laugh at anything, the movie wasn't funny. I think they only really perked up for Depressed Barbie
True, the guys were laughing more then the girls tbh
This movie has had so much marketing that it probably needs to make like triple its budget.
It’s budget was like 150M max and it’ll probably clear that this weekend alone. The marketing paid off and it’ll be in the pin- I mean the green
Can't believe mission impossible died for this shit. Feels like every big actor lets me down with their final movie. They never go out on a high note always a whimper.
test
>have an older sister who has a couple barbies
>forced to take nap time in her room
>can't sleep because it's noon and the room is super bright
>enjoy stripping barbie naked, removing her head and shoving her shoes down her neck hole
I grew up to be pretty normal though
As a kid, when my sister wasn’t there, I would borrow my sister’s fully-dressed doll and take all of its clothes off one at a time, because even then that turned me on (I didn’t understand what turning on was).
Jews themselves will have children while promoting infertility for the goyim.
Atleast half of you would be feminists if you were female let's be real
Does Jordan Peterson get referenced at any point in the film?
The movie was really funny and I enjoyed seeing it. While it sucked to see the scene where the Barbies ruin the happiest moment for the Kens into fighting each other, it did save itself partially where Barbies agree to not go back to how it was before but to have the men discover who they themselves are and not dependent on the women as well as following a set standard for what it means to be a man. If you pay attention while it was a happy time for the Kens in the Kendom they weren't themselves but all copies of each other. Good message for men to be themselves and not fall into the trap of people like Tate or old ways where men HAD to do this or that to be considered a proper man. Ken just wanted to be happy and the Barbies are more then happy to help them be happy in the end as they find themselves as well. Dont fall for the blackpill about the movie bros. We are all Kens and we are Kenough.
>We are all Kens and we are Kenough
Same as JK Rowling and the childless Harry Potter actors
Did you dialate?
