I really liked it. I've got island Asian blood in my veins though so of course I would like it. There's no other possible reason for me to enjoy it. I saw Asians and recognized myself and clapped.
Had some cool and sad moments, but otherwise it was way to Reddit and too much woke shit. One of the most overrated movies I have ever seen, even though it could have been ok without all the Lesbian shit because it added nothing at all and just made it more cringe and obviously forced.
You are angry at whatever normalgay told you >oh bro you'll love it, it's right up your alley
For wasting two hours of your life on the most boring and pretentious piece of shit film you've ever seen. Some of the art direction was pretty creative
The worst part is it was more than one so you thought >They can't all be wrong. Maybe it is a decent movie
Then you just sit there and wait for it to get good and it never does.
awful lot of people talking about reddit on a site that isn't reddit and a movie that doesnt reference reddit directly
(you) are all closet redditors trying to fit in, bc i for one, never think about sites i do not use.
i mean how would one recognize the reddit style without using the site, thus making them a redditor.
>i mean how would one recognize the reddit style without using the site, thus making them a redditor.
Someone could go to Reddit and read one of their threads, and then know what they're like. You don't need to visit a place to know what it's like. Someone could hear about Reddit on Cinemaphile, and then know what the place is like. I think everyone I share this site with is Reddit, because they're unintelligent like you. I'm filtering the thread now, so feel free to reply.
I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fricking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of the chair for the last 30 minutes it was so painful. >Ayy quirky A24 movie lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place
it was marvelcore with a rick&morty level plot
though I did feel it was "complete" as a movie, goofy proportion and pacing was just right, the moral I didn't give a shit about, but it was acted and presented very well
it didn't feel like an oscar movie, but it was solid for sure

You thought it didn't live up to its stature as a truly random, unique, or "weird" film, because you've seen truly out-there films, and you know the thing that makes them so thrilling and electrifying is the fact that they were made without much regard to how the audience would react. This movie, on the other hand, didn't sit right with you. All the "weird" creative decisions were there, but you never felt like it actually went off the deep end. It was as if every decision had a sort of knowing intention behind it, like the directors *knew* you'd totally find this next part super random, and were anxiously waiting for you to pick up on it.
That's why each labored repeat of the same cutaway gags (hot dog fingers and racacoonie) felt less like its intended effect of amping things up, and more like ot was beating a dead horse.
Ke Huy Quan has the most grating voice I've ever heard, "be kind to each other = saving the world" is the most trite message a film can have at this point, the Asian family drama is incredibly rote, the humor was laughably dated when they were shooting.
But I watched it on acid and tears were streaming down my face for half an hour straight, eyes glued to the screen
It was reddit, and it was memes.
LIEK OMG, it's like "Ricky and Morty" and "Kung Fu Hustle" had a baby!
Highly overrated and you don't use that term lightly.
It sucked. Especially the oscar meyer finger b***hes.
Why would I watch anything about a badass bug woman?
>dude sausage fingers and putting things in their butts so random xD
>her le pinkies has teh ABS!! XDDD
