>why are they dressed like space hobos?
>that fight scene was too short
A sci-fi masterpiece
Looks amazing
Sounds amazing
The characters have immersive respect for their world without quips that bring you out of the moment
I had full-body Goosebumps in the final parts
It's trust fund band slop for fundies courtesy of the giant worm baskin roberts
>a hard pill to swallow: frank herbert is a ______ _____ ____
CIA funded israelite
Well said.
Pretty cool guy
>I want to free my people
>NO NOT LIKE THAT
Women am I right
I think that if Denis wants to change the story so bad he should've make Paul and Feyd have sex together before they kill each other
Nothing short of a monumental achievement in science-fiction filmmaking. Sensory overload and one of the most immersive cinematic experiences ever crafted. Denis Villeneuve is operating on another level. A level of ambition and audacity we rarely see within the art form. Dune: Part Two elevates itself to transcendent heights, among the pantheon of greats. It has cemented its name alongside the immortals in film history as one of the greatest sequels ever made.
Woah I was just going to say exactly that! that’s to funny
An astonishing piece of fiction
A million times better than marvel and capeslop
A million times better than nu Star Wars
Mediocre as a Dune adaptation
Why were there Fremen that questioned their own religion? How did they know Bene Gesserit had planted their religion, a secret that basically only the Gesserits knew? Idk, kinda undermines the whole book.
wait are they including rebellious fremen in this one? they're not supposed to have their ''wait, are we the baddies?'' moment until book 2 or 3
Zendaya and her zoomer friends were mocking it.
It's probably to make the whole Bene Gesserit plot more understandable to normies, but yeah, it's a dumb choice.
the northern fremen are more skeptical in the books too
>what did I think of it?
Subhuman, make your own opinion
newbie
I was just about to make a thread about the first one, since I watched it yesterday, and found it to be a technically good movie, but also pretty damn bland.
Unironically ruined by the Zendaya ending. Didn't like the changes from the book like Rabban dying at the end and not before. It's weird that Lynch adapted things far better in the 2nd half.
I am in doubt that I want to go watch it in theaters now.
>Being this autistic
Yes.
Just have fun and go to the kinoplex my friend
A real edge of your seat experience where the main characters cut through their enemies like butter for 3 hours without any real hardships, sacrifices, or failures.
See this is why I hate that Villenuve altered the book. Dune was never exactly as great as everyone made it out to be. But it did have the basics such as Leto II (1) being born and dying before the final battle. By removing things they alter the story so that it's the geopolitics without emotion, if Lynchs Dune was too epic rock sci fi that white washes things into being corny then Dennis's is going to be the one that's known for choosing to be nihilistic and removing things too much that just backfires in the opposite direction.
Dune isn't meant to be a thriller. It's more looking at the mechanisms of control and how they come about, the politicking
well if that's the case DUNC part 2 sure did a great job of depicting the politics of Herbert's universe, by omitting the Spacing Guild entirely
Is it just me or this literally James Cameron's Avatar but in the desert?
A planet of natives are invaded and colonised by a comically evil military force in order to extract natural resources. The main character eventually defects from said military force, falls in love with one of the native women, becomes their leader and joins them in their fight against the invaders.
Yeah I know Dune came first but something about this movie specifically made me realise just how similar the two stories are
Goyslop
If you're like me and a fan of the books, you probably hated it
