It's good. Only bad thing in it is the CGI but that's understandable since it's Cinemax.
Only the first season is good.
This kind of. The show really quickly runs out of steam and wastes the potential of it's premise. I didn't even bother to actually finish the show, I'd run out of patience.
It totally wasted Kai Proctor. Only Job makes the show worthwhile after a certain point.

It goes beyond badly after the second season. It is clear that the writers and showrunners had no ideas what to do with the series. They just start killing characters left and right to create cool scenes and drama.
You may be right but Season 3 is so over the top, I have to say the show peaked here, and let's not talk about s4.
the police dept siege, the assault on the military base, the extrajudicial revenge killing in s3e1, the qt's dramatic death scene
Pretty sure it was the explicit blacked style soft core porno in like the 2nd or 3rd episode that marked the end of my Banshee experience
there's nothing to discuss, you literally have to turn your brain off
it's hard because there's so much technical skill and effort that goes into the show but what comes out is mediocre, and it takes itself so seriously most of the time.
Antony starr can do a lot more than he shows in banshee, watch outrageous fortune for something completely opposite this

Feels like 90% of people only watched it because they saw the clip of him beating the piss out of the boxer, or they saw four eyes disembowelling the native american woman.
That and the promise of more nudity from True Detective anal sex girl.
I watched the show because of the actor and unironically disliked the scene with four eyes killing the hot native woman. Felt like they just wasted the native woman they had been building up. The whole show at that point felt like they didn't know what to do with the characters. Same with the native woman's brother just dying.
She reminded me of one of my favorite book Characters Mercy Thompson. Average urban fantasy of a no nonsense mechanic native shapeshifter in a love triangle with werewolves. Could have been kino.

Job is unironically the coolest token homosexual character ever written.
I am unironically working on a weg that parodies the show because the premise of a fake sheriff in a small town who's actually a sex haver criminal just lends itself to porn. And yes, the MC will end up fricking his daughter in my game.
there's really nothing quite like it out there. i'd liken it to something that's halfway between justified and spartacus. and like spartacus it constantly gets underrated and underestimated. it's got great violence and nudity, some very clever writing, incredibly fun larger than life characters like hood, kai proctor, chayton, burton, job, mr. rabbit, the colonel from the military base, etc. it also has a rich lore with many different competing factions in the town, like justified did.
everyone should give it a chance. maybe you end up thinking it's moronic because of all the violence and nudity, maybe you're able to appreciate it and it becomes one of your favorites.

Job the troony was one of the best characters on the show. I guess this show was back when they just accepted that trannies are weird and built off of that instead of trying to make them seem normal.

Banshee is just modern pulp. Whether you think that's good or bad is up to taste.
it gets worse and worse. enjoy the 1st season. by the end you want to slit your own wrists instead of watching it turn to total diarrhea.
