It's been said about plenty of good things, it's just that it's a confession of being a moron with no taste. morons with no taste can still like good things, just by accident, like a blind squirrel finding an acorn. No idea about Thor Love And Thunder though, it's probably bad but I'm not an MCUgay

It's not a very good comedy. It's pretty low quality even when compared to the director's other work.

Why should I settle for the bottom of the barrel stuff? I'm just not gonna watch it. I have better things to "turn off my brain off" to.

He’s not wrong but I don’t think that’s the path MCU fans wanna take. Pretty sure if I said “Yeah Avengers is highly rated but it’s about a green monster and metal man fighting aliens. It’s for kids,” they’d be pissed

Why does every movie have to be taken 100% seriously in order to be good? What is wrong with mindless fun? Do you go to amusement parks and wonder how people can have fun flying thousands of feet in the air on rollercoasters?

Also, these are capeshit movies, made to be nothing more than mindless fun for the average moviegoer. They aren't Tarantino or Scorsese films. You're not supposed to think of them like that.

Comedies can be groundbreaking cinema too, you do realize that, right? It's a fricking movie. Not a Rollercoaster ride, this is why scorsese laughs at you, you stupid manchild. Also, these are capeshit movies, made to be nothing more than mindless fun for the average moviegoer.
The Sam Raimi Spiderman movies and the Nolan batman films would like to have a word with you.
      >You arent supposed to think
Well good to know the average mental state of a Marvel fan.

        >Comedies can be groundbreaking cinema too, you do realize that, right?
Comedies can make you think through satire and parody, but they are not required to and not every comedy has to to appease you.
        >It's a fricking movie. Not a Rollercoaster ride, this is why scorsese laughs at you, you stupid manchild.
Scorsese laughs at Marvel movies, not the people who watch them. He laughs at them because they can be compared to rollercoaster rides with obvious highs and lows made to garner reactions.

Good comedy makes you think. Bad comedy requires you to simply laugh along with it. Which is what the MCU does.
          >Scorsese laughs at Marvel movies
Yes. Because they're cheaply made, gross pulp with zero artistic merit and bottom of the barrel, designed by marketing executives to ensure maximum profit. They're not art, nor cinema.

Imagine thinking Tarantino's trash isn't mindless. It just still has more substance than MCU schlock somehow.

        That's my point, dingus.

I'm glad we can agree on something, but does the MCU movies HAVE to be "cinema" or "art". Regardless of what you or I may think of them, they will be remembered for years to come. They will be a part of pop culture, and we can't say that pop culture does not have art or cinema.

          >Does it have to be cinema or art?
Why not? There's plenty of good superhero movies like the Nolan Batman films and Sam Raimi Spiderman movies. You're just excusing shit. Your mindset is whats leading to cinema becoming shit.
          >They will be remembered
Not an argument. This does not define quality. Nobody will be remembering these movies in 10 years anyway.

Making a movie with zero substance defeats the point of making it in the first place.

The MCU as a whole will be remembered, but not on an individual basis. The films themselves are very forgettable mostly

This argument falls apart if you go along with it being a comedy because it’s not a funny comedy.

Yes. Smart people already know that. But try to tell that to millions of people who are fans of hundreds of corporate-bought pop culture "reviewers".

It's been around for decades, you underagegay. It's the motto of every shoddily-written action movie and comedy.

Its funny I have never heard someone who thought something was decent or good tell people to turn off their brains. They usually have an aspect of the film they really enjoyed like the cinematography, the acting, the jokes, the characters etc.
