I was turned off by the designs but the action was surprisingly exciting and I was into the main character's arc, even for as simple and straightforward it was. I've also heard it was based on a comic. For anyone who read that, is that worth a look too?

I love how try hard cool it is. It loops too endearing to me. Also I loved this movie as a kid
The comic's pretty decent, think early Invincible, but Duncan's kaiju-side is a lot more explicit
It didn't have an ending though
I wish the comic took off I think it’s a pretty good idea. And I’m a big kaiju fan so any new entry to the genre is welcome

That’s a pretty cool idea. Although it stop brings up the question, how did/would a woman feasibly have a kaiju kid when the father is the size of a building let alone a different species

I liked the tomboy monsterfricker.
It was weird because it felt like the movie missed the whole point of the comics?
Duncan didn't get with the pretty blonde girl he had a crush on in the comic.
She only saw him as a friend and he got mad because he thought it was because of how he looks and called her shallow, but then she turned it around on him and said he was treating his chubby Latina best friend the same way
And then there's the part where in the movie Duncan's military handler was the real bad guy and his dragon dad was a noble soul.
When it was the exact opposite in the comic

I actually have this movie on DVD as well as the first TPB because I liked the concept and hoped it would take off. Sad that it didn't.
