Same thing as literally every other screenwriter in Hollywood. This is why we need to support the strike, so that AI doesn't churn out identical, soulless scripts for every single project.
As much as I despise modern 'writers' it's a pure pick-your-poison type of situation. If AI is let loose, then the bugman dystopia is complete. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, I guess. Even though they've been complacent golems, I still would rather keep them than some soulless machine that will be programmed to be the poz-800 and demoralize us all to oblivion. The pendelum has to swing and it doesn't hurt if you give it a good kick.
This is literally no different from the series. Boyd/Dewey Crowe/Wrong Kid Died Givens/Wayne Duffy/season big bad always got huge chunks of screentime.
The negress lawyer is not the antagonist, an episode full of him would have been much better, as subpar as he is.
There's a reason why they're spending time on her dipshit. She's going after the other lawyer with the black book of corruption. Then the money hungry ex coming into the picture is bad news too. Have you even read City Primeval?
No, and I don't care about some fat black lawyer who plays the race card to get violent Black folk out of jail time's relationship problems. If that's what the book's about it sounds like shit too.
You're on Cinemaphile, these people don't read
Raylan used to be like 50% of the show, he literally has less air time in last week's episode than the obese black b***h's ex husband who is like a tertiary villain. It was the last episode for me, I gave it a chance, a second chance, and another still, but I'm tired of looking at that ape in a nighty and her gut or watching the total fricking charisma vacuum that is the Mansell. The plot goes nowhere and is just a pretext to parade more and more Black folk in front of you.
zero interesting characters except for keith david maybe but he dies first episode
raylan is moronic and shit
no charisma or humor from all the side characters and criminals
raylan is attracted to a sheboon
manlet "this is how we do it" gay fake tough guy
80% blacks
the original justified was carried by funny/goofy/charismatic/interested side characters and criminals, and had lots of hot women
this mini series seems like punishment to the show for being liked by the 'wrong people'
>This is literally no different from the series.
>Its like you've never watched Justified before.
K E K
E E E

>You don't know first hand about being a poor jiggaboo?!?!?!?! KEK, LOSER
Dropped it after the first episode.
Yaint even have raylan shoot anyone I am not interested.
I did like seeing Deacon from King of queens I don't think I ever have in anything else
>Yaint even have raylan shoot anyone I am not interested.
Well Raylan just shot the black prosecutor several times over the course of a night.
The ugly coyote face on picrel, poor guy was wondering how the frick he sank so low.
He should've never given up his armor.
Tv told me it was kino.
Try to watch s1e1: copman try to bust some "nazi".
Fricking DROPPED.
Kek
Its like you've never watched Justified before. They always set up these other villains and villain supporters so eventually Raylan shoots the frick out of them. Its 6 episodes long. You'll get your throwdown
i had low expectation but i can't believe how bad it is
They could've at least hired a skinny black lawyer woman so Raylan being thirst over her is believable.
It's bizarre. Even my culturally left of center wife is grossed out by it. Doesn't really bother me. I had to watch Roger Moore lust after May Day in View to a Kill when I was a kid.
Grace Jones was fit and exotic and was dating gigachad Dolph Lundgren at one point. This b***h you could find cashing her EBT check in any inner city in America.
Fair. I just couldn't get past her face/hair. And I wasn't yet desensitized to black women yet at that age either.
How old are you boomer that you think "EBT checks" are a thing. What's the first letter mean?
Tell us more about being raised on EBT, Jamal.
Keep paying taxes into a system you hate so I don't lift a finger. Just smarter than you wagie.
If only he had some kind of brother he dug coal with who could put obese black people in their place. As I live & breath Raylan Gibbons
>no crowder no watch
simple as
OG Justified also had prime poontang. I haven't watched Primeval yet, but I am not optimisitic in that regard.
Mansell's girl is alright, other than that it's all fat black women. And Timothy Olyphant's actual daughter who clearly has no future in acting with her weird ass squeaky voice for a few episodes.
>Timothy Olyphant's actual daughter who clearly has no future in acting with her weird ass squeaky voice for a few episodes.
Was shocked to find out she is 20. She could honestly pass for 13. Great job by the wardrobe and makeup for the show.
Jesus, you racist dipshits are awful. And it isn't even so much that your racist, it's just that you're all the biggest fricking crybabies I've ever heard. Frick just change the channel or better yet turn the damn tv off and go outside. Fricking hell, you pussy ass homosexuals.
yeah, we will never dug coal together
>the show isn't bad it's just racism!
this is bait
Calm down, incel. Instead of throwing tantrums about things that get you mad, hide threads that get you upset and go outside.
You annoy everyone around you.
>I entered a thread full of people I dislike and now I'm mad! How could this happen to me!
The worst was episode 3, written by a sheboon writing dialogue like “he’s not too bad for a white guy” and throwing in lots of terms like “cracker”.
The best thing that could happen is the WGA strike never ends, then maybe most of these brave new world people will go away.
It's fine. I'll watch it. Doesn't have the exceptional characters it used to have like Boyd and Dewey. Missing the humor. Missing the western charm/culture of the original. Raylan is still Raylan and Olyphant is still pristinely perfect to play the cool marshal.
The scenery, environment and intensity of the show is still solid like the original. Probably more intense since it's more serious.
Sad that you really couldn't get away with this today
This episode made me want to go out and bang a white trash hooker for 20$.
And now the prosecutor is gonna break bad and join Marcel and jazzman, after what is arguable the worst acted scene in the show, this season or any previous seasons between her and the ex husband.
Couldnt they have let this how rest, whats the fricking deal with resurrecting these shows only to take a fat steaming shit on em.
This show was Olyphant's idea after reading City Primeval. He talked with Tarantino about it while shooting Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and they both agreed that it could work with Raylan as protagonist. I don't know how much control he had over casting or writing, however.
Shitty idea, to be fair. The book already had a good enough protagonist and a good dynamic between him and Clement. Shoe-horning Raylan for brand recognition and because it's the only half way notable thing he's done in years was ill-advised.
>Shitty idea, to be fair. The book already had a good enough protagonist
I thought that this and fire in the hole shared the same protagonist, i mean that they were both just 2 short stories about Raylan or w/e
So this story had a different mc and they just put Raylan on it instead?
>So this story had a different mc and they just put Raylan on it instead?
Yes.
If Leonard Elmore was still alive, I don't doubt he would have tidied up the story a bit to make it work, as the allure of Justified was its southern western atmosphere which is just completely lacking.
The only two parts that have felt even remotely like Justified was the scene in Florida in episode 1, and Raylan talking to the uncle
Welcome to 2023.
>'I worked ma ass off fo' diss
>Translation: Diversity hire
>black person
>steals the show
Makes sense.
Boyd carried Justified, and if had died in season one, the show would have been cancelled after season two.
This. I honestly think it was a fricking mediocre show who's only interesting aspects were Boyd and the criminal-of-the-week format which missed more than it hit.
Boyd was great, the crowes and Bennetts were entertaining, Avery and Boone were kino too.
Quarles was the only meh villain imo.
>Bennetts were entertaining
the Bennett family singing High on the Mountain by Ola Belle Reed was a top Justified moment
>Bennetts
Mags was pure SOVL. Holy shit what a good actress.
>the hammer scene
Man that was some good shit.
>Quarles was the only meh villain
Ikr, you'd think a manipulative psycho who rapes young men would be memorable. They somehow fricked that up.
Dig the coal pay the toll
people talking about racism itt are moronic
all the black characters from the original Justified were either cool, interesting, funny, or at least just normal believable characters
Limehouse is an excellent character, for example
the bottom line is that people from the country, of any race, are more soulful, genuine, interesting, likable, and human than any bugman city dwellers
he should buy pants with that 10k
>Raylan oil drilling an obese black woman
Please, PLEASE show me a picture of the person who wrote this.
>scene of black woman telling Wendell he lost weight
>"yeah I quit coffee, started green tea"
Jesus Christ, what the frick do they put in their coffees over there? Butter?
the dialogue was weird and stupid and you're correct that it seemed weird
but actually some southerners do put a little butter in their coffee instead of cream kek
Does anyone have that you will never leave Harlan alive Pepe
