I'm just now finding out about this realm of media and it's not surprising that it's good stuff considering how many good Korean movies I've seen.
So far I've watched:
Vigilante
Death's Game
The Silent Sea
What are you guys watching and what do you think I'd like based on the fact that I mostly enjoyed those shows.
>korean cinema
If I wanted to watch a movie with bugs, I'd watch this superior film.
K-Drama is unironically better than most of the US slop I've tried to watch recently. It's sad, but it's true.
>no nigs
>no gays
I wouldnt be surprised.
no it's not and both are shit
why would i watch some moronic korean garbage when i can just watch old movies?
not garbage but w/e i guess go watch heat or whatever for the 50th time boomer
heat is shit, the fact that this is what you think old movies are or that there aren't enough for you to watch a new one every day shows how moronic you are
the sort of subhuman level you need to be at to enjoy kdramas is lobotomy tier, just have a nice day and get it over with if this is where you're at
cope and seethe troony
moron
>crotchety old snob
this is like saying to someone they're snobs for not wanting to watch a mexican soap or some kardashian reality tv lol
>or probably just a racist and or midwit that doesn't want to read subtitles but you're masking it like you're some serious cinephile
it's not about being a cinephile, you shit for brains shitheel, it's about not watching literal fricking garbage
funny that you'd call me racist when i've tried plenty of shit, including turkish shows (which, while not good, are 100000000 times better than kshit)
koreans make ok movies but their shows are garbage, they're always dragged out crap with ten times more episodes than the story needs
sounds like you're just a crotchety old snob
or probably just a racist and or midwit that doesn't want to read subtitles but you're masking it like you're some serious cinephile
This is a shill.
Korean drama stories are telenovelas tier. Cmon now, theyre unwatchable unless they're some sort of comedy/satire or action(asiatics are good at that)
t. hasn't watched any kdramas that try to be anything other than telenovela tier
STILL better than woke shit
How do we save western TV from all the woke shit?
Roof Koreans?
I finished Money Heist Korea. I liked the version with the two koreas thing and Jeon Jongseo a qt
>Jeon Jongseo a qt
then you should go watch her lead this amazing show
dangerously based. laughed my ass off when the cop was prepping himself for a fight. wish there was news of the series continuing though
She looks like she got the jaw shaving surgery
try Mister Sunshine
This is pure telekino. Wish there were more like it.
Bro kino. Highly recommended.
That ending tho..
can't believe how much that cheeky little homie in the middle grew on me over the show, his ending was rough.
>woman sidecharacter does the independent strong woman trope ten times better than any western show
The ending was sad overall thoughever
I haven't seen this yet but it might be relevant to your interest if you like death game
>A mystery teen drama that takes place when a class of second-year high school students is suddenly forced to play mafia games in real life during their retreat.

shame that Netflix has got their grubby hands of kdramas now and are ruining them with shorter episode counts and more violence and sex
Watched 1988 and it was really comfy, but I heard 1994 and 1997 aren't the same level. Is it still good?
I liked the older ones better, not as well polished but more soul and felt like they were made more for a purely Korean audience since kdramas weren't as big in the US yet when they were made.
1988 is the best Korean tv series I've ever seen in term of comfiness, nothing ever come close.
How is it comfy?
Slice of life, no high stakes, no drama, multiple normal up&down relationships between a dozen people, believable and genuine characters (beside captain autismo who wins in the end)
Oh great now there a k drama thread when I’m going to sleep
If this thread is alive when I get up, I can post some recommendation.
I'll try to keep it alive but Cinemaphile is full of chuds that hate k-content
The k drama have been doing well lately.
Last week there were 2 threads that reach 300+ replies, I believe.
Lmao, pathetic incel. Keep self bumping your turd thread then.
I sincerely hope some korean chick would recognize your service and give you some pity handjob.
You should watch some rom-com kdramas and chill tf out
It always the same pathetic rabbi who keep coming here.
I watched Reborn Rich and thought it was pretty good. I struggled with the subtitles though as they went by fast and the characters weren't called like "Steve" or "Bob" they always referred to the chracters as SWANG-SAM-SUNG and shit and gave up trying to remember peoples names and just used their faces.
I'm going to gatekeep kdramas
But uh
My mister
The gloryI wanted another season reee
Death game
Hell bound
Sweet homeI like what's his name
All of us are dead
you can't gatekeep if you have basic taste
Those are just the basic tiers I know of.
I feel drowsy hopefully you keep this only good thread alive mang.
Autumn in my Heart
Koreans look really ugly without any surgery lol.
they look ugly uncanny valley tier with surgery
every kdrama ive seen has shit actors that can barely move their faces and so so much makeup that still isn't nearly enough to cover up the oiliness
You can tell quality of the show by how non-caked up actors look. 90% of them are either mediocre or are outright terrible. Moving is a recent one that I liked but it doesn't stuck up to expensive American shows (writing is lacking)
Anything with park bo young
Korean TV is worse than modern anime.
Comparing their cinema to their TV is absolutely insane.
I don't watch K-drama because there are no black people.
>Cinemaphile has the worst taste is asiatic drama
who could have predicted this
post recs

Doom at your Service
first one I watched is My Mister and it was fantastic. RIP mister though.
Anything similar style / quality?
anything with IU
My Mister is kind of in a class of its own. I guess you could go on MDL and search for shows with similar tags. Or just look at the most populer / best rated shows:
https://mydramalist.com/search?adv=titles&ty=68&co=3&so=popular
and
https://mydramalist.com/search?adv=titles&ty=68&co=3&so=rated
My Liberation Notes is similar because it's by the same writer.
My Libtards Notes is trash and people who suggest it should be shot on sight.
What the hell is libtarded about that show?
This (redacted) is probably piss about this scene
My Liberation Notes was missing something, the romance was well executed but didn't work for me (maybe because that guy will forever be the serial child killer from Mother for me), watching the siblings just drift along without any real purpose for 16 episodes was maybe a bit too much i guess, would have liked some kind of plot.
don't forget the obvious gigantic amount of money poured into every episode by Netflix
That's why I though it was great. It about the daily struggles of life and make it hit home to a lot people who are just "drifting" in life like theirs.
>my liberation notes
>our blues
>39
>lost
>move to heaven
>tomorrow
>be melodramatic
dear my friends
Where can I pirate kdramas?
AvistaZ
dramaday.org
mkvdrama.org
Thank you anon.
kdrama for modern shows
cdrama for historical and wuxia (xianxia is awful, there is not a single good xianxia series)
The people in it are funny lookin. Not gonna watch it.
recommend me kpop show with many footshots. women only, but twink shots are fine.
IU does some good foot shots in hotel del Luna
muhamed seething hard today
Womeme thread
K-shit is garbage
Kek implying mutt television is better
Enjoy your trannies, gays and blacks
But anon there are some Asian dramas with gays ngl.
not really, there are gays romcom that are targeted towards gays and teenage girls (for some reason, they are the largest audience for this kind of show)
but outside of that specific genre you won't find random gays characters shoved into every show
There are some gay and trans characters however most are for comic relief. There are many gay Thai dramas targeted towards the LGBTQ audience.
is this show worth spending my sunday marathoning?
I think so. I'm at ep6 and it's been a lot of fun so far.
yes
Oldboy look young here
Should I watch My Mister or Our Blues first?
Everything seems worse after My Mister imo so Our Blues first
I just finished Anna and really liked it
But why does it only have 6 episodes on Prime? I'm seeing it's supposed to have 8?
Can you recommend me a similar drama?
One Spring Night
because you saw the edited version (6 x 50 min) and not the uncut one (8 x 60 min) which is the director original cut (sometimes called extended version)
I only saw the extended one, but people who have seen both are saying the extended is way better
6 episodes was the standard version. The extended director's cut had 8 episodes.
> Can you recommend me a similar drama?
What do you mean by similar?
Little Women
The Glory
>he saw the butchered version
you are only missing 3 hours chud
World of the married
>sexoo
This is what you get when you let western pigs get their grubby hands on kdramas. Edited content for different markets and shorter episode counts. Netflix and Amazon have butchered so many old kdramas by editing out whole scenes, music, etc.
I know it doesn't exactly apply in this case since it's a new show but if you watch any show made before around 2018 make sure you find a HDTV rip because odds are if you get it from a Western streaming service it's going to be butchered to hell.
Anna was edited without the director consent.
Same shit happened at Netflix this year with Song of the bandits, and everyone on the team is mad about it so they shit on Netflix at every occasion (great marketing strategy). I can only hope we will see the director's cut one day, like for Anna
Why frick do amazon and netflix do this? It's not like they're a live tv network that would need to cut things down for commercial breaks and hour-based scheduling blocks
they cut things because of copyright bullshit and they cut things they think western audiences wouldn't understand / to make the show more palatable to a western audience. It's dumb
Middle Men Monopolies are a mistake
>if you watch any show made before around 2018 make sure you find a HDTV rip because odds are if you get it from a Western streaming service it's going to be butchered to hell.
Honestly the vast majority of the time that isn't even the streaming sites fault. They simply buy the content directly from the asian providers and they get what they are given. Even if they get the full show you'll often notice a series looks worse on Amazon because they are given a lower bit-rate encode than the original source.
Korean guy here. My mom, sister, and gf all love BWC.
What about your appa
I think he'll definitely fancy one of those hehe.
based
i'm a white guy and my sister is dating an asian guy.
we should get on one of those family swap tv shows
My doctor is korean. Her daughters date white guys and her son date a SEAmonkey.
And goddamn, she is top tier milf
Death’s game was fun
But its an 8/10, not a 9/10 and I have no idea where the 10/10 calls come from
Its way too schlocky to be great
there are not enough quality kdramas. most are shitty rom coms which can be fun depending on the plot and actors.
the really good ones are like one per year. I see some good titles posted here like anna and my mister. these are very good, especially anna. I will add extracurricular and my dearest.
been watching kdramas since 2012 and the best one I've watched over the course of these years is actually a very new one called mask girl. it is in a league of it's own.
Mask girl is a fricked up kdrama. I loathed it. There was no justice. It should be remade
I liked the first Mask Girl the best during the set up
the resolution of the plot can be hard to come to terms with for some people, but what makes mask girl stand above everything else is the structure, the way the story is told, every episode is meaningful, every character is developed, good acting and good production quality.
I literally can't say anything bad about this drama.
Mask girl is awesome. So too is My Mister, My Dearest and Mr. Queen is entertaining. Moving is pretty good. Stranger is good, the first part is better. Reborn Rich, The Legend of the Blue Sea is good. There's one that is quirky but entertaining, Zombie Detective. Also liked Hotel Del Luna
where my /druk/ people at
Would you guys recommend Mr Queen? Is it good?
>Would you guys recommend Mr Queen? Is it good?
It's a funny show like Oh my ghost, strong woman, forbidden marriage, etc
>that plot
I don't think I could watch this as an heterosexual man
>my dearest
sell me on this. what makes it that good? because from where I stand it looks like one of those shitty rom coms your complaining about, with the added displeasure of the always unwelcomed love triangle
>>my dearest
>sell me on this. what makes it that good? because from where I stand it looks like one of those shitty rom coms your complaining about, with the added displeasure of the always unwelcomed love triangle
it's not a love triangle, maybe the trailer tries to sell it like that but it's not.
what makes my dearest good is that it is basically carried by the male lead and for a historical kdrama it's not that cringe. it takes a bold approach to kdramas in the sense that it portrays the koreans as weak little b***hes, which they historically were. it offers a more realistic look at what people do when war happens.
idk how many historical kdramas you've seen but I assure you, this is by far the best.
Thanks, I'll put it in my "to watch" list
the actors all did a great job in My Dearest not just the leads
>I don't think I could watch this as an heterosexual man
It does cross your mind however the way its done and how well the actress played the role its not homosexual at all. Its also a good plot
Is it one of those time period drama? I saw an image and I can’t get into those type of shows besides game of thrones.
yes, it's a time period drama, they are all unwatchable garbage, except this one. smile.
Modern day arrogant male fine-dining chef gets transmigrated into past and into the body of a queen no one likes. Hijinx ensues.
It's a rom-com with an emphasis on the comedy. For it's genre it is one of the best in recent years.
>Hotel De Luna for IU
and honestly despite this board hating Korean Tv shows they're surprisingly chill and comfy just watch their romcoms and chill.
Too many people are sleeping on Sweet Home.
Its like the next evolution of zombie-style kino we've all been waiting for. People turning into random monsters with different abilities and motivations adds so much to the genre, even if the show is a bit animeish. Season 2 was solid.
I couldn't finish sweet home season 1
Besides the coombait, the imagine dragon songs was obnoxious. CGI was wonky as hell, and the storyline was so so
All of us are dead was better in term of it
forgot pic
yuck what a fricking ugly girl
is there a reason you respond to every offtopic post?
Is there a reason why israelites and wippo need to come to this thread when they don't watch korean shows?
im asking why you humor every poster that comes into this thread to mock your shows?
>implying it's only 1 poster who doing this
nah he's right
She's better looking in Parasite
Is there anything equivalent in american tv besides mukbangs?
Are there any good crime kdramas without comedy? Korean comedy often makes the story worse.
Mouse is pure kino
How does saar rate it?
Innocent Defendant
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes
Flower of Evil
signal
Vincenzo
beyond evil
I couldn't remember the title, but Vincenzo was exactly the show I tried and I bounced off of it because of the comedy.
There's a serious side to Vincenzo
For example, he cuts a womans achilles tendon, puts music on and then sets her on fire.
The main character keeps his ruthless mafia streak the entire series, even with all the comedy/romance.
The worst of evil
The King of Pigs
Come and Hug me
Vigilante on D+ was the first new show I could watch & enjoy on D+. All of the western shows I tried to watch on D+ were, at best, mid. Vigilante is a basic crime drama with really violent fight scenes. And I really liked the main characters, with the police investigating the Vigilante being incredibly based.
Hell Is Other People
I agree
>Vigilante
After just watching Vigilante on a whim I literally can't go back to Reacher and I didn't even think Vigilante was that amazing or anything but if you just compare the action & fighting scenes especially with the big korean cop to the pozzed shit in jack reacher s2 its night and day in quality. I don't think ppl realize just how god awful western entertainment is right now when something like reacher is being viewed as peak.
Mask girl was good and very different. Dont watch any trailers it will ruin it for you
Please recommend more like Mr. SUNSHINE
>mr sunshine
>Kim tae ri
this chick appear to be everywhere in the last few years
red sleeve
Despite all being unfiltered kino, she's only in 3 TV Series in 6 years
Took her 4 years to do a Drama after Mr Sunshine as well
She was good in Revenant this year but overall the show was kind of mid, wasted potential i'd say
good kdrama shit on d+ this year apart from Vigilante: Moving and The Worst of Evil
Imagine wild-eyed, possessed Kim Tae Ri's pussy lips gripping your wiener
yeah imagine having kim tae ri as your possessed ghost b***h and all she does is a bit of casual murdering here and there when everyone was waiting for her to rape that stupid professor to death
>everyone was waiting for her to rape that stupid professor to death
it's sad that this didnt happen
it did in my mind
hnnnnnnnnnngt
I'm sure there's a perfectly innocent context to this scene and it's for the best that nobody explains it.
delete this
hee-do would never partake in this lewd acts, while competing in fencing
>the handmaiden
for me, it's screenwriter Jung Seo Kyung
She, IU, bae suzy and the bully girl from the glory need to do a show together in the future
IU and Bae Suzy were in Dream High. Great show if you don't mind camp.
I could have saved her
needs the one from it's okay to not be okay too
canceled for being a bawd :/
canceled because her first show as a lead flopped :/
>canceled for being a bawd :/
>
I thought it was because she was abusive towards her bf
god I wish she would abuse me
Imagine
"abusive" is the Korean term for standing up to her domineering and controlling boyfriend. Despite what is depicted in kdrama, Korean society is very misogynistic.
>canceled because her first show as a lead flopped :/
killing vote wasn't that bad, it should have stuck to the main premise longer though
Perhaps not bad but when you take your popularity after The Glory to star in your first lead roles at 33 years old and you do
Lies hidden in my garden (1.5% ratings) and Killing Vote (3.5% ratings) when a cable network show has to do at least 5% to be considered decent, you're kind of doomed
What about Welcome 2 Life? Is that any good? They make her look ugly in it though with a dyke haircut and outfits
She's not in much, really. She's only been in 3 kdramas in like ten years.
Thanks frens, I'll look into those.
I adore her character in twenty five twenty one
Under the Queen's Umbrella
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
plus pic related
>Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
A cheery, happy, feel-good show for all the family.
Why do Koreans like converse shoes so much?
probably looks the most formal in term of all the sneaker brands
name a more iconic opening shot
kdrama threads on Cinemaphile are ass, it's either normies recommending whatever's the latest violent Netflix slop or chuds screeching about bug posting.
>latest violent Netflix
there's literally nothing wrong with those 3 qualifications
streaming platforms really helped improving kdrama production values lately, which was very much needed. and violence was always part of korean culture, cf. their cinema.
Mask Girl (Netflix, 2023) is the bridge between kdramas and korean movies, and a perfect example of the level of quality most kdrama could achieve in the future.
>muh production values
We were happy with our campy romances and family dramas tyvm. Now Netflix is going to ramp up the sex and violence until kdramas are indistinguishable from western slop.
>We were happy with our campy romances and family dramas tyvm.
you'll still have them though?
As long as israeliteflix don't impose their influences, I am fine with it.
I'm dreading how they're going meddle with squid game 2
why did /our/ girl stop getting role since squid game bros
it's going to suck
even if it doesn't suck we'll pretend it does, you know because muh netflix bad
Koreans are the de facto kino makers now that American shat the bed and only make shows and movies about gay Black folk from outer space.
Someone give me the webm of her doing stupid shit with her fingers then pressing a doorbell
I asked for a webm, damn you. I somehow find her stupid finger shit hypnotic. Thanks anyway.
Sorry
No, you still helped me. Thank you for that. I'm sorry for being a bastard to you.

I come to these threads to find more shit to search out.
How many American shows did you watch the same year?
Probably five or six.
Succession, House of the Dragon and Reacher are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Zero British TV shows.
I'm English.
>Zero British TV shows
I tried Bodies because it had great reviews, dropped it at ep02 tired of being lectured about the virtues of islam and gay love, then promptly went back to pozzed-free asiatic land
British tv used to be thought of as kino on Cinemaphile. What went wrong? How do we save it?
>What went wrong? How do we save it?
some of the upcoming stuff doesn't look bad https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/new-british-tv-series-2024-bbc-itv-channel-4-sky-netflix-disney-prime-video/
i think it's mostly just lack of interest because we're a joke of a country now
Combination of factors. Good TV is expensive. Tory governments have gutted the BBC (and C4) and the license fee for political reasons (being unbiased meant calling out Tory politicians for being c**ts, they didn't like that). Streaming sites mean there's less of an audience. Less advertising for network TV etc
All the good British writers, directors and actors went to where all the money and work was - streamers / HBO.
How come those aren't any good then?
>Zero British TV shows.
>I'm English.
same, got rid of my loicence years ago. the only british shows i hear people talk about at work are love island, big brother and i'm a celeb.
Yup, frick that bullshit.
license free for years, too.
You can't, it's done.
Last show I watched was last season of Happy Valley and before that Line of Duty. Rest is absolute cancer.
It looks like this year will be comfy too.
I do the same. Annoyingly the external hard drive for my plex server got corrupted, so I'm in the middle of a 30+hr recovery of it to a new drive, which means my viewing of comfy fake news and incest drama Pinnochio has been interrupted. Hoping the plex history doesn't get fricked up too.
I will look into this Pinnochio...
This is one of the most taboo things in the West and it happens so often in Korean TV shows and movies that we began to be shocked when kids weren't killed.
I could have saved her.
she is so fricking cute.
She's also great in Memories of the Alhambra. Also those spanish shirts and shoes with tight jeans, great combo, and the outfits her game character would wear when playing classical guitar.
for me nothing will ever beat that dress in Sysyphus
yeah I started watching this for she but I couldn't finish it, it's decently rated enough but I thought it was terrible.
Tbh I'm skipping all of the AR game combat scenes. It's not so bad then.
prepare for it getting worse toward the end
they don't have enough material for 16 episodes so prepare for infinite flashbacks and people who take 28 seconds to answer a phone call while making a concerned "hum should i answer this" face
>they don't have enough material for 16 episodes
The show killer. Same thing with Alchemy of souls. And they made two seasons of that.
Lots of amazing things brother, except maybe for Gyeongseong Creature which was exceptionally bad, way worse that it had any right to be.
Aw, I just saw a new show and the trailer looked decent.
Is it really that bad?? It's on my watchlist because, well, Han So Hee, 'nuff said.
the screenplay is hilariously bad, the director knows he can't save the show so he's just phoning it in, and the production designer should be hanged for bringing shame on the whole profession; I've never seen such fake looking sets in my life even the doors are made out of plastic and don't work properly
>Gyeongseong Creature
>watching episode 1
>girl-boss shows up
>fix bike that was years without running with a pair of screws
>disarm man in the most cliche way ever
>roundhouse kicks all around
>close video
And that was the end of that. Didn't even have to get through the first episode to know it's shit.
>fix bike that was years without running with a pair of screws
kek there's so much worse absurd shit happening later that i forgot about that part, amazing start indeed
also don't forget she's buying those things to repair the bike even before she inspects it, she just know she's godly like that
>Alchemy of Souls
First season was good (kind of). Second season was shit.
First season there was some 5 filler episodes that just made me want to gauge my eyes out. Second season they changed the female lead's actress and her character changed completely. I was super mad.
I agree S2 wasn't as good as S1, but it was the same actress that played her in the first episode, it was planned, not a random recast.
Huh, I didn't notice that. Regardless, I liked the previous dynamic between the two leads. The new actress just wasn't the same character (justified because of the amnesia, but still...)
plus she's way hotter anyway
Sweet Home, Alchemy of Souls, Death's game, Moving ... she's in everything right now, she's the new it girl
Any of those are good?
I liked alchemy of souls and moving, moving is capeshit but still overall a kdrama about family, not typical western capeshit.
yes, they are all some kind of variation of capeshit, but good.
moving is capeshit, the others aren't. fricking zoomers.
zombieslop with superpowers is capeshit. Would a rose by any other name etc etc
both sweet home and AoS are centered around superpowered individuals as MC
>AoS
That's just normal fantasy though.
sweet home is monster apocalypse and alchemy of souls is wuxia, you are a moronic zoomer who thinks everything is capeshit..
Actually, Jung So-min's RBF kind of grew on me by the end of the season.
she's only hot in Sweet Home because of the light/dirty/sweaty makeup
in any other show she seems to insist in wearing two literal tons of make up until her face is completely white and near featureless
2nd seasons shouldn't be common in kdramas, this nonsense is Netflix / the wests fault
I LOVE ALCHEMY OF SOULS
>Death's Game
>episode 7
was it the white truck again?
Somehow 18 is super comfy, but sadly real short. Please recommend more like it, that are perhaps not so short
I wish the girl was in more stuff
A Time Called You
Thanks fren. I think I have that on my seed box, will have to double check
It's not as good as the Taiwanese original "Someday or One Day" but it's still a solid 8/10 with the whole time-travel back to school days theme.
30 But 17
Thank you too
Twinkling Watermelon
Go Back Couple
And you.
I'm adding all these to my mydramalist list
Crash Landing on You
Healer
what shows was over rated and why is this?
I enjoyed the whale facts
Attorney woo was overrated because Cinemaphile is full of autists who dream of an autistic gd
I just want a loving and loyal supermodel tier Korean gf bros, is that so much to ask for
Why does Cruel City never come up? The story is cool, and the female lead is super hot (WHY IS SHE NOT IN MORE STUFF?) . Even the other female character is a total milf.
I remember her as the evil violinist from Kairos (time travel kino), she's pretty but had ton of ps I'm not sure you'd recognize her from 2013
Winter Sonata
Why are Korean romance stories so superior to western romance?
less sex scenes
The female characters haven't ridden the wiener carousel.
This.
>watching mayflower witches because of Daddario
>first episode she fricks random dude from bar
>turn off TV
climax of the romance is them holding hands, a hug, and/or a light kiss on the cheeks
vs
spit in each other faces and rough sex in 5 positions while on coke and while the dog and/or the woman's 8yo boy is watching them
They are about building a relationship and showing emotions, not who fricks who.
I didn't give a shit about any of the relationships in You or Sandman or Queens Gambit.
But several kdrama romances have made me cry and roll on the floor.
I want her to bully me so hard
AHHHHHH
>cuts her hair
>stops being mean
what a waste of a show. I really liked the first 3 or 4 episodes though
She was still mean to everyone other than the two brothers, and she was shat on for the short haircut
The same reason why Asian cinema in the 21st century is generally better than Western cinema. They have more of an artistic emphasis rather than a didactic one. Most Western media now is essentially propaganda or demoralization. To compare, K-dramas focus on family dynamics, conflicts between tradition and modernity, class disparity, etc, real things that everyone can relate to. Western media proudly derides things like family and places no importance to romance since it promotes sexual deviancy instead. Romance is so obsolete in Western culture now that rom-coms are an extinct genre. There are no Western romance dramas that people watch, every normie just watches Turkish and Korean stuff
>They have more of an artistic emphasis rather than a didactic one.
extremely untrue
It's very true. If something like Parasite was made in America then it would have no nuance or impressive stylistic technique. They would just hire a bunch of Ivy League Marxists who live in Britain to shit out the screenplay where they seethe about rich people and nothing more. The Handmaiden is a better gay/lesbian movie than anything the West has made in 2 decades for the same reason. It's more artistic than sentimental
*I meant to say 35 year old Marxists who live in Brooklyn
You're just proving you really don't watch korean or much asian cinema at all. They have just as much slop as hollywood
Not him, but you're wrong and he's right
Not him but you're wrong
not him but you're based and correct
not that guy but i would argue that korea doesnt go as low as capeshit (although they still produce capeshit) but their artistic movies are not even close to their western counterparts
>artistic movies
>western
Bro... just stop.
Find me 1 thing from Korean television comparable to this shit
Here's a better one
How do we save the west?
Hol' up! He lived?
dem death's rules bro, even the screenwriter had to abide by them
Nah sorry. Ill stick to my unpretentious undiluted peak crige core asiatic sitcom shit like Vampire Idol.
My only complaint about kdrama is that they overuse the "character covers their love interest with an umbrella when it's raining" trope way to much. It feels like it happens in every romance. Why can't they add some variety?
also the mandatory piggyback at one point
wtf korea
>koreans aren't white
>self proclaimed white nationalists "love" korean shows
It makes no sense
They're honorary whites
SIR refer to this post
koreans are honorary white people
Hitler said that Japanese, Koreans and Chinese were cultured people and honorary Aryans.
He was right.
I love Korean shows because of the things they lack, not what is in them.
If something doesn't make sense, that's because your mental model of that thing is wrong. You should try to think deeper about it until it does make sense. And no, "they are just moronic/crazy" is not the answer.
>If something doesn't make sense, that's because your mental model of that thing is wrong
Now THIS is a cope
watch weak hero class 1
it's fun.
has there been any k drama with 4-5 seasons?
No, and that's a good thing
Because of this thread I'm watching Mask Girl, Anna and My Dearest. Anything else to add to the list if this is what I've seen so far?
Twenty Five Twenty One
Uncontrollably Fond
Moving
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Our Blues
Thanks I'll check them out
Mask girl sucks. The final episode is mask girl fist fighting her rapists mother(who is also the grandmother of her rapebabby). Very ridiculous show and not in a good way.
filtered
Yeah when she broke out of prison I was totally filtered!

[Last Name = Park, Kim, Lee etc.]
[First name made of two syllabes = two Hangul characters = two chinese characters]
