we have the anecdote that cio's husband GIANT SPHINX DEMON put her mask back together after her first shattering. he hasn't shown up at all for a long damn time, could he have put her back together again?
It's even got the fleshy look of his "daughters"
I don't know, would he even care at this point? He put her mask back together the first time because he wanted Yabalchoath back, and he got that lesbian blue gremlin instead.
They sound like semi-functioning autists to me. >Pale devils (also known as cacodeamons) are the lowest order of devils and generally regarded as the least powerful. Typically summoned to perform mundane tasks such as physical labour or guard work, they are given extremely long names to shed in order to keep them under control. Though typically short, asexual, and bulbous, Pale devil’s have a wild variance in physical form, as they are usually much closer to the chaotic Black Flame. Pale devils can easily regenerate limbs, and the longer they live the larger they grow, with very large Pale devils often being used as beast of burden. >Though Pale devils cannot speak, have little personality, and show little understanding or interest in advanced topics, they have a capable and at time keen intelligence. They often have odd habits – such as compulsive counting or cleaning, are very good at repetitive tasks, and show a surprising amount of intuition and cunning when pressed. Pale devils will perform most task without a great deal of skill, but also without question. This make them very popular servants, for a Pale devil will not only remain obedient, but will also be very unlikely to discover the nature of their secret names and change colour.
"Himself considered this his business, as Allison sought to use devils in the break-in. Himself gave approval for this adventure as part of a wager: If Allison were to be successful, she should "spare a thought" for Himself as a favor. If the enterprise were to be a failure, Himself promised that he would allow the Heretic's Council to kill Cio.[10]"
So did getting bodied by Jag count sufficiently for this to have been indirectly fulfilled? Alternatively, was the raid on Yre considerable as a success, potentially providing Allison a motive to break him out?
i'd say from the devils' point of view the raid could be considered at least a partial success. i mean yeah Allison didn't find the guy she was looking for but frick does anybody but Allison care about that when the vault's been cracked open and there's millions of gold doubloons just pouring out like a waterfall in all directions.
From the devils' point of view Allison might have fricked everything beyond belief. Bank of Mammon's in disarray, the finances of millions of worlds in jeopardy, war between the demiurges, demiurge death, Jag coming to kill them all: Allison brings change and uncertainty, she's bad for business.
However he wagered Cio "to return [her] to the state her hubris has rendered her" should Allison fail yet Cio is already dead; the devil in front of Allison now a new being. With his wager nullified even if he had deemed Allison's escapade a failure, what can Himself do now within the bounds of their original agreement?
It is Cio just as much as the white booger monster is Cio.
Think about Shiva and Brahman. You have a lot to learn about how the incarnations of gods work.
I miss insect Cio with bug eyes that talked in tongues.
I think he made the comic his main job after Book 1, before that he could fool around and fully follow his artistic vision, after he had to make the characters more marketable
Gonna be interesting to see how he resolves this, whatever it is i hope it's not some fast solution that makes one wonder why she died in the first place.
If Allison can return her to who she was or not could go either way and be fine for me but regardless of which i want it to be something not trivial.
There will always be a little glimmer of her there but the story has shown that the Devil essentially becomes a new person.
Speaking of Devils, I’m surprised Oscar hasn’t made his comeback yet.
It's not Cio's body though, it's Aspected Chaos' shell. Regular devil can't revive without mask, but AC was a totally unique case in the entire universe, so there's enough wierdness for her to claw back through it.
that shard is like the last piece to reconstitute her or something, that's why it fits perfectly. she's secretly wolverine and can regenerate from an atom or something. i can see it now
Devils and angels are already established to be super-immortal. And both Cio and White Chain had been killed before. It is just that reviving takes time, and they never come back being exactly the same.
[...]
oh god forbid a protagonist ever stays dead! what a fanserving hack.
White Chain went against the way angels are by becoming something diferent. Cio will go against the way devils are by coming back while being the same.
Just you watch.
No absolutely fricking good he did just this, if they’re going to force his hand then he’ll just turn that fricking hand into a monkeys paw. I’m tired of death not having consequences in stories anymore, it’s fricking boring.
No, frick everyone screaming and crying and stamping their feet about her dying. If there's no consequences there's no point to the story.
And I'm not talking about 'oh all the countless dead across the multiverse,' that's fricking window dressing and you know. Real casualties are the ones that directly affect the characters.
>If only webcomic artists could somehow get editors to tard wrangle them and keep their shit in line.
As someone who has had to work on large scale art projects for a deadline, a tard wrangler would have been very much appreciated, I was my own boss and my boss was a pushover.
Artist hate editors, but as it has been proven many times, artist don't know what's good for them. I am absolutly not partial in this argument, working for a publisher myself.
Wow I didn't even realize this was White Chain's place. Thought they ended up crashing at that white thing's place. Although I don't get why Allison seems to know it.
So White Chain went back and found the pieces of the mask, I imagine. Couldn’t fully bring her back since Allison had the final piece, but I assumed devils couldn’t form new bodies unless the Masks were completely intact.
Shoebox apartments in Throne must be triple the hell they are on earth. The neighborhood just knows there's an angel nearby hence why everything on the surface looks peaceful.
I had one for a number of years in NY, in a medium building full of character. Good light, surprisingly robust kitchen in a demi-hallway off the bathroom, great bathroom. Called in firefighters once, and the whole truck’s team somehow fit in the place like a clowncar. They were so outsized for the space, with all their gear their captain was laughing at them from outside the doorway.
It was heaven for while it lasted. Good for two. Different State now.
Modern stick building creates sterile boxes that leak heat and sound like sieves. Older solid construction buildings keep extraneous heat and sound out of your space and let it actually be cozy.
The pacing has been fricked up ever since the first time skip. The Jadis arc was really boring and probably lost a lot of people, but the energy level in these threads had already peaked back during the vault heist arc.

Are you kidding? Commies eat that god ruler shit up, because only a literally perfect god would make their joke of an ideology work in the real world.

Thing is - the Jadis arc discussed the issue at length. Even if Allison defeats Jag and any other demiurge to ever arise - she cannot prevent new hierarchies from arising. She cannot punch the world into harmony even if she wanted that - and she does not want that. The Heir tryng that and failing is what the Wheel literally is. And then Maya's flashback arc that illustrates how "fighting the vile oppressors to end the evil of the wolrd" is precisely the story of Yaun ten Jantris' and Maya's downfall into (and from) Godhood.

Oh frick it's the Slenderman-Dynamite-Did-Nothing-Wrong schizo again.
>and?
That was way before BLM. And if you were a least a bit less moronic /misc/ack, you would notice that it makes the entirety of the final duel of Ring of Power into a literal case of black-on-black violence.
It's also topkek worthy to b***h about Aba allegedly losing sight of the Kirkbride influence simultaneously with going on about good hierarchies. Did you even read the 36 Lessons or C0DA?
Could you imagine if it's that and then in the last second Incubus shows up and goes >you sad sack of shit >I haven't forgotten what's good in life >BECAUSE I LIVE TO SHED BLOOD!
and steals Jag's key?
Even if Jag gave up on fighting, he's still indestructible. He could probably crush Incubus' so-called indestructible skull with his bare hands lol
Very dumb college girl get isekai'd and given the task to stop the machinations of a renegade angel and his omnicidal warrior poet. Lots of cool lore, mythology, and liturgy scattered throughout. The demiurge characters steal the show.
Gets the power of God shoved in her forehead by a newly beheaded ruler of the multiverse and is teleported to a corrupted heaven where she has to defeat the 7 evil demigods and rescue her not boyfriend. Things don't exactly go like that.
No, he's right. Humans are the source of most problems in ksbd. I'd say devils tolerate humans because humans are the source of masks and made the first deals, but that's about it.
Are the girlfriends back?
I legitimately don't know
I wanna know what that big monster is, its cool looking.
its Cio
do we know for sure or just guessing from the fact that it came to the shard Allison has?
Why would it be anyone else absorbing the cio shard like a missing piece
I thought at first maybe it was like an envoy sent by someone (her husband?) to collect the shards but yeah you're right.
we have the anecdote that cio's husband GIANT SPHINX DEMON put her mask back together after her first shattering. he hasn't shown up at all for a long damn time, could he have put her back together again?

I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going.
Cio looking cute
Is this a new eidolon Cio? Her husband or whoever revived her gave her a cool body.
Aren't Pale Devils supposed to be extremely moronic? Did Allison just get a Casca?
>Aren't Pale Devils supposed to be extremely moronic?
No they simply aren't able to talk.

The white devil with the cat in the raid seemed pretty smart
>he doesn't know
Woe is he who assumes the master for the pet.
Even better, she got a Luna/Judah from Fire Punch. Allison is gonna groom this poor moronic pale devil into becoming Cio again and it's gonna be kino
we're getting the band back together
"Himself considered this his business, as Allison sought to use devils in the break-in. She created chaos, for the Devils' purposes that was probably a smashing success.

No joke before it absorbed the shard of Cio's mask I thought White Chain turned into an H.R. Giger art piece out of drunkenness.
a Cio who can't talk is a straight upgrade
how could a man be this wrong
To be fair, she hasn't talked like that since Book 1
Which is a shame
Yes. Insectoid cussing Cio was best Cio by far.
Objectively wrong
That's not Cio
It is Cio just as much as the white booger monster is Cio.
Think about Shiva and Brahman. You have a lot to learn about how the incarnations of gods work.
Early Cio was the best Cio.
.

If Allison can return her to who she was or not could go either way and be fine for me but regardless of which i want it to be something not trivial.
>If Allison can return her to who she was
That'll break the story and make Allison an enemy of change and a villain on the same level as Metatron.
God i hope you're right and she just learns to love the new her.
I'm betting Allison will try something that will sort've bring her back but she'll be changed like how we still have White Chain but she's changed
Okay, but Cio the-way-she-was was maybe 60% of what made the comic so enjoyable.
Goddamn I can’t tell if this is an upgrade for Cio or not. Let’s see if Allison can handle it.
Yes finally some freaky shit. I'm ready!
I dont think Cio will be the same even when she evolves back to blue
There will always be a little glimmer of her there but the story has shown that the Devil essentially becomes a new person.
Speaking of Devils, I’m surprised Oscar hasn’t made his comeback yet.
>when she evolves back to blue
Alisson should give her a really short name so she goes straight to gold.
"Frickpet"
IT’S YABALCHOwienerS TIME!
unfortunate that her missing eye is on that side, it looks like she's meditating in panel 5. wouldn't be so awkward if her mouth was open or something
Princess?
Princess is a Gold devil now. Wonder what the name would be. Maybe just Jack Moonshine. Moonshine Princess.
The fewer names the stronger, I imagine she's just Princess now.
Princess was the first name, but if you've only got one name you're Ebon not Gold.
>An almighty Ebon Devil named…Princess
What a journey this poor black flame has lead.
its his fault he was a spectacularly sore loser
It's not Cio's body though, it's Aspected Chaos' shell. Regular devil can't revive without mask, but AC was a totally unique case in the entire universe, so there's enough wierdness for her to claw back through it.
That looks nothing even close to Aspected Chaos’ body. Cio currently looks like a maggot taking on a vaguely human shape with all those folds.
It's a maskless pale devil trying to rebuild a miracle. Even if it doesn't match up perfectly it is there.
head looks like an ant's with the tiny eyes on top
>tfw you've just woken up from drunken slumber only for the protag of your fav comic to go through the exact same
this is a weird feeling.
Eyyy, same here!
I assumed she would have to go get Cio back from Himself after the deal they made.
Kind of looks like Juggernaut's shell after it got blasted by Viggy Gaze.
oh god forbid a protagonist ever stays dead! what a fanserving hack.
Still hopeful it’s a monkeypaw
that shard is like the last piece to reconstitute her or something, that's why it fits perfectly. she's secretly wolverine and can regenerate from an atom or something. i can see it now

White Chain went against the way angels are by becoming something diferent. Cio will go against the way devils are by coming back while being the same.
Just you watch.
yeah she's not like the others! she's strong and independdnt! dhe's different and unique! this shit is so played out my god
It worked for white chain
Cio was always more human than the other devils.
Golly it's almost like they're part of the main cast of characters trying to literally break the framework of the world or something.
>the're main characters! they can't die!
thanks for proving my point midwit.
it's lazy fanservice for dummies like you
>equating WC to Cio
I'm laughing
Jesus fricking christ Abandon you didn't have to butcher the hopes of Ciogays like this

Nah bro this is good, if she was gonna die and not just be maimed then there had better be actual consequences to that death.
I probably just missed it in the archives but did we have a thread for last update? I didn't see any when i checked last saturday.
there was, the OP of that thread was a moron who didn't put "ksbd/k6bd/kill six billion demons" in the subject field
Ah that makes sense then, thanks dude.
Whitechain's appartment looks oddly smaller now
o, earth is not part of one of the demiurges's 777 worlds? i didnt knew there where free worlds.
Nah it’s a part of it, Mottom just hasn’t conquered it yet. And I guess she never will given the circumstances.

there's another person in where there was just space. and a huge-ass pale demon to boot

Wow I didn't even realize this was White Chain's place. Thought they ended up crashing at that white thing's place. Although I don't get why Allison seems to know it.

I like post-maybe sword Allison. It's Allison coming into her own as a character.
Because as far as I care at this point, Jag is the real protagonist.
The women look too black or ugly wtf

Cio then, but also Cio now:

ABSOLUTELY UNROYAL
Can't can also be a statement of not wanting to, in which case going to a posh restaurant and demanding a bathroom access immediately after would be very royal.

Mindbroken
I'm just gonna go out and say it: I dislike how Allison looks when she's wearing red lipstick and I hope it's gone for good now.
Oh yeah I meant to ask last thread:
Would Buddha or Marcus Aurelius be more [ROYAL] in the KSBD setting?
Marcus Aurelius is literally Jadis with a dick instead of transcendental technology.
Even if Jag gave up on fighting, he's still indestructible. He could probably crush Incubus' so-called indestructible skull with his bare hands lol
So…why can’t she pee there?
It's hard to make out the details but it looks like it could be someone's camp. I see bottles, pizza boxes and cardboard mats on the ground.
What the frick even is this comic?
I've seen it posted here before and it looks cool.
Give me a quick background summary?
college girl gets isekai'd
Very dumb college girl get isekai'd and given the task to stop the machinations of a renegade angel and his omnicidal warrior poet. Lots of cool lore, mythology, and liturgy scattered throughout. The demiurge characters steal the show.
Gets the power of God shoved in her forehead by a newly beheaded ruler of the multiverse and is teleported to a corrupted heaven where she has to defeat the 7 evil demigods and rescue her not boyfriend. Things don't exactly go like that.
Hi, I'm new, does she ever actually kill six billion demons? is it like an ongoing thing? if so, what's her body count so far?
Its a title, not specifically a thing she's going to do.
🙁
The title means nothing
Best guess is it's like a chinese fortune cookie and it actually means "solve a lot of problems".
>what's her body count so far
like, 37, tops, so she still has a ways to go until total democaust
>I know a few humans.
>They aren't ALL bad, despite what they did to the throne
I love their casual racism.
They're right, though
Humans are the cause of everyone's problems
Not true, they seem to be doing pretty well by the devils. Black flames stick together I guess.
No, he's right. Humans are the source of most problems in ksbd. I'd say devils tolerate humans because humans are the source of masks and made the first deals, but that's about it.
