Recently watched the first episode and never continued from there.
Tons of references, random humor of the times, funny reoccurring jokes, and wacky hi jinx. Its pretty weird seeing a show like this being made in that era, but it was shoved into NickToons.
I dont want to watch more because I’m afraid of what it’s capable of.
I remember this show. It was advertised as the first "American anime."
Except it felt like a Western cartoon with some animesque elements. Worse still, it felt like it was made by some 40-somethings who aabsorbed a little bit of anime through Toonami, enough to get the gist that superdeformation and big bug eyed girls were things in anime, without even coming close to beginning to understand how to make any of thatt work to feel authentic, and so it just reuse the same superdeformation and anime eye jokes over and over again.
I know there was a fart fetish episode, but besides that, just bad "American who watched Toonami for half an hour tries to make an anime but doesn't commit all the way" sort of deal
I agree with this. And I hate when Cinemaphile lies. Both this and My life me are advertised in the same "show made by a japanese culture fan" when in reality both of the creators have minimal knowledge regarding anime. Such a disappointment.
I hate this show because my favorite cartoon reviewer hates it. Also, it’s humor based and doesn’t have lore or gay underaged brown girls fricking their girlfriends, so it’s bad. And it pisses me off they’d DARE mock anime in any way. I suggest watching something good from the 2010s-2020s (only good cartoons) with plenty of rep and no humor to be found. Just good, clean lore filled episodes, drama, lgbt diversity, RESPECT FOR FRICKING ANIME, morals, and story driven. The way a cartoon SHOULD be.
I watched the first episode years after the show ended and it explained something I never got. I never understood why the show was called "Lily-Mu".
I didn't realize that Lily was the main character and that Mikey replaced her. It also explained why she was a b***h to him for most of the show.
But yeah I liked the show, pretty fun. The theme song was killer.

Frick them. "Hey! Look! Out! Streets! Don't you see that man is Kappa Mikey!"
There's two scenes i can remember off the top of my head which hints at this. >A scene where Yes-Man dresses in Mitsuki's LilyMu outfit and says, "I secretly love you, Yes-Man~" This happens at the end of one episode, i forget which one. >Lily tries to figure out who Mitsuki's secret admirer is and her first thought is Yes-Man of all people.

Kappa Mikey was like the inverse of Panty and Stocking >American cartoon trying to look like anime
And that's it, that's their only similarity. I don't know where I was going with this.
I always hated this show because I cant fricking stand the 2000's art style that tried to copy anime and do over the top reactions and chibi shit. It drives me insane. I got the same feeling whenever I would see some 2000's kids deviant art shit of OC's or fanart of their favorite animu characters.
YAASSSSSSSSSS MAAAANNNNN
I never really get this cartoon. I know it was racist to Japanese anime.
he looks like the weird OC guy from one of the marvel vs capcom games. so I guess its an archetype
It's not an oc but a Japanese comedian who was popular at the time
This was like if they put Urkel in Mortal Kombat

I thought they were mocking anime
they were it was the entire setting and point of the show

The relationship angle with the blue haired girl was what I really cared about.
oh yeah i watched the show a bit ago and it's kind of implied that yes man wants to frick her

>Best girl wins
Japan can learn from this show
because it was funny
this was the best show ever made and I shouldn't be surprised Cinemaphile is too dumb to appreciate its genius
Because anime

>mocking anime
>implying it even understood anime beyond super-deformation gags
Bein real generous about a submediocre weebshit cartoon, friend
He's litteraly doing "owo" on some of these.
Has anyone ever jerked off to this character, do you think?
I wonder that too.
Was embarrassing to look at back in the 00s and still is. Opening has a nice Beat Crusaders song
