I put off watching it for a while because it was 'capeshit' but Moving absolutely mogs all of them.
The episodes focusing on different characters was a bit challenging to get through.
Normalgay take
Moving was incredibly well done
she is literally perfect
literally her worse look. she was more beautiful in happiness and w
delusional
she was also a lot younger in w
milf+glasses is peak. youth is overrated.
she has never looked better than she did in moving, aging like wine.
Moving was shit. I can't believe slop like that is rated so highly.
Maybe I'm just tired of the same old shitty storylines, but the whole premise of teens with special powers going to school was boring as hell. Well actually I like that premise, what sucked was the whole government to cultivate them and monitor them as well as the mandatory assassin/foreign power trying to kill them
/filtered/
Agreed
It's better than most capeshit but it's still slop.
>I come into every thread and call everything slop
When is season 2?
didnt care about the parents episodes at all just wanted the fatty and his unkillable gf
but those were the best parts
I thought it was a little jarring going back in time after the first chunk because I wasn't expecting it, but they were the best episodes imo, and then bringing everything back together for the final episodes, it was a really well structured show.
This
. Dropped the show after it stopped focusing on them.
>What korean tv are you watching this weekend?
The new episode queen of tears later
It overtook Goblin for second in ratings history. Is it worthy of it?
If you found crash landing on you entertaining, you would like this too
I liked it better than Goblin.
I'll watch QoT after all the episodes finish airing. Please don't spoil.
>I liked it better than Goblin.
are you a femcel?
No I'm a mancel.
ML and supporting cast in CLoY was better imo.
Is it better than My Liberation Notes?
My liberation notes is very good, I did not expect to ever enjoy something so heavily slice of life yet I do. The characters are all very realistically imperfect and uncomfortable without being "so quirky omg". I'll take any suggestion for things with a similar vibe / acting quality regardless of genre.
Little Women
picked up, looks utterly out of my viewing zone but I've been surprised before.
Actually haven't, I came across some spoilers here (fair enough it's been out for years) and I'm waiting to forget about them before I watch it.
I'll check it out too.
Thank you all, gonna sleep now.
>My Mister, but you probably already seen it
>Our Blues
>Doctor Slump
Be Melodramatic is a poverty version of my liberation notes
not as good but it was fine.

Haven't seen MLN but Summer Strike is comfy slice of life.
I'm 5 episodes in and I'm really liking the revelations about their relationship, it's basically gaining a new dimension every other episode which is great.
Wasn't expecting her to having lost her baby as the main trigger to the death of their relationship.
Episode 6 to 8 is where more of the good stuff happens
I just dropped by to remind everyone that My Mister is the peak kdrama and it will never ever be topped
If it's so great why didn't she save him in real life?
this is, without a doubt, the most moronic thing that gets said in these threads.
not as moronic as IU letting her mister become an hero
>guaranteed replies, the post
Still, slightly too soon, brother. She cant save everyone
I'm watching Call It Love right now and I like it better
The mom in that is a real b***h
Yeah she obviously has some mental condition (that actress always seems to portray a character that's hysterical or has some mental problems), but she's comically evil so it's almost funny
>the copy is better than the original
nope, also obviously a very, very young screenwriter with no life experience at all except for the kdrama she watched all her life. I mean, I'm all for them redoing the My Mister storyline, but at least do it correctly with a competent team
I CONCUR.
>Koreans are good at making tv now.
They really aren't. It's all melodramatic nonsense for women, and almost all of it is derivative of anime/j-drama/visual novels.
One of the worst things ive ever seen. That kpop idol cannot act and the writing was shockingly bad.
youre just jelly we dont like jap tv here
go to Cinemaphile or /m/ if you want your jap discussions
Just because Korea and Japan hate each other it doesn't mean you have to too, weeb.
They don't hate each other though. Their governments sort of hate each other but even that's changing now that China's becoming a bigger threat. I was in Tokyo two weeks ago and they seem to love kpop and kdramas there.
Japan is cool with Korea but Koreans hate Japan
Then why koreans love anime and japan movies are always in their top 10?
The same reason I like Indian food but hate Indians
jej
I wonder why Koreans and China may not be fond of them.
Every surrounding asian country hates Japan for what they did to them in the past.
Chinese for Nanjing, Koreans for the camps, Philippines for Manila.
Japan was doin some wild shit before the bombs dropped.
Fun fact is that China is being so aggressive in that area that both Korea and Japan have decided to put the past behind them and start working together just to counter Chinas aggression.
Crazy when you think about it.
I mean a huge part of the Korean war was the US having Japan manufacture goods for the south, this was a huge boost for Japan's economy coming off ww2 and made fighting the commies in the north much more smooth. Japan became much more US foreign policy friendly after Hirohito unconditionally surrendered but that doesn't mean the other countries forgot what was done to them in the past.
>IU will never tell you to keep fighting
>IU will never force you into indentured labor in her ghost hotel
Agreed
?feature=shared
I watched it bc of the hype. Pace is slow and the brother with the glasses is annoying.
He also tossed over Kwon Nara like a gay.
nara is my goddess. she was so good in he lesbian high school girl role
kwon booba more like
almost done with my liberation notes
have you tried long jumping yet?
I STARTED WATCHING THIS YESTERDAY.
«TRANSACTION»/«THE DEAL»/«THE PERFECT DEAL».
How did the koreans react to Jennie being in The Idol btw?
She was canceled.
About as badly as could be.
>holding hands is frowned upon
>lets show a camelhoof and get dry humped by african americans
it was never going to work out well
>koreans are good at making tv now
hahaha no they arent. Kdramas are fricking AWFUL.
>A black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts Young Won’s career and family at risk, she teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family.
This one seems interesting. Kim Hee-sun's last drama was kind of ass but a black comedy mystery sounds fun. Plus I see Ahn Kil-kang in the supporting cast
Its a shame that SK is literally the most depressing culture in East Asia and by a lot too, misery makes KINO I guess.
School kids literally get killed, raped or suicide in America but you never about them cry about it in their tv shows
Instead you see them shoot up the school
Asians kill themselves like crazy over school. Kids everywhere get raped, that's not an American only thing.
>“Dare to Love Me” is a romantic comedy about the love story between Shin Yoon Bok, a 21st-century scholar from Seongsan village who believes deeply in Confucian values, and his art teacher Kim Hong Do, who has a reckless and straightforward personality.
Shin Yoon Bok (Kim Myung Soo) is a successor of his family who lives in Seongsan Village. The village maintains the appearance from the Joseon period. He takes the appearance of a Confucian scholar and follows what the elders in his family says, but he is also a young man who is full of adventure and a rebellious spirit. He has a dream of becoming of a webcomic writer. To attain his dream, he runs away to Seoul. There, Shin Yoon Bok meets Kim Hong Do.
Kim Hong Do (Lee Yoo Young) is single and works as a contract worker for the design team of a mid-sized apparel company. She does pretty much everything there, including running errands, and her colleagues on the design team look down on her, but she maintains a positive attitude and doesn't give up on attaining what she wants. Her dream is to work as a designer for a global luxury fashion brand. She keeps moving forward for her dream.

All from a time where plastic surgery sure was used but in a more controlled manner. restrain in all things, girls. All the new girls are just bogged monster like the Moving / Death Game / Alchemy of Souls S2 girl or the My demon girl.
Sometimes I think I'm the only male in this thread
I don't mind the occasional romcom when it's well done (e.g. Doona) and restricted in terms of runtime and numbers of episode to avoid the 66% filler curse but I prefer their thrillers, fantasy or horror shows
power ranking
>3. IU
Problem?
why my pp hard?
You make a couple of excellent points.
Literally me.
It was a pretty obvious way to end the show and pretty much the Korean "It's a Wonderful Life: the television show"
where do suzy rank at
Suzy ranks below a common prostitute.
good ol reliable bae schizo
jun jihyun needs to make a romcom again

What is pepe doing undr the street
me getting ready to watch my soaps (kdramas)
That's about to be me starting ep2 of Goblin, I forgot how frickin hard the first ep went.
Gotta keep the belly covered for max warmth and comfort.
me shitposting in the soap opera thread
this is a high school student according to koreans
what's the problem?
do you say shibal and aigoo irl?
i say ajumma as i cum to my dirty manhwas
why do people hate IU and Bae Suzy so much
it's just one schizo that shows up to hate on bae suzy and some russian girl. the IU stuff is just memes.
love this noona
I liked her in Hometown Cha cha cha
Tfw no miss dentist dimple gf though
This actress is cursed to play the ugly best friend of the female lead in every kdrama. She did the same thing in My Man Is Cupid and Hometown Cha Cha Cha but she plays the role well.
>PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME STEADY WORK, PLEASE NOOOOO DON'T GIVE ME WORK
most kdramas and kmovies are cringe af and pushing some kind of narrative the only raw kmovies are king of the pigs and breathless (2008) made the by the same guy coincidentally and some movies made by kim ki duk god bless his soul and your welcome both movies the theme about the cycle of violence and hate it never ends
Breathless is kino but there's plenty of other films like Thirst, I Saw the Devil, Oldboy, Burning, The Wailing etc.
what about save the green planet?
it's comfy and silly, not what i would call kino or mandatory korean film viewing
Who the frick watch these romcoms or soap opera seriously?
me
Me too but I'm on hiatus until the summer fall
Only every sister in this thread, cheers for bumping.
i think zoomers hate seeing sex or romance in shows
are you one of them?
will women like me if I say I watch kdramas?
you'll have something to talk about. you still gotta not be a cringe/creepy weirdo to get them to like you though.
as long as you aren't a freak about it
dubs and it's always good to have something common to talk about initially
yah i talked about kdramas briefly with my friend's crush about it on our way home from a club. she is a big weeb and koreaboo apparently.
did u ntr your friend
what's that?
no i respect the bro code so i didnt even look at her that way. we mostly talked about buddhism cuz she is a legit buddhist (not the new-age type) and i am an /x/tard.
Only of you let them introduce you to a Kdrama first.
Bump for more enemies-to-lovers kino.
>enemies-to-lovers
the smile has left your eyes
Secret Love
Arale got a live action?
Love to Hate You is overall mid (and Kim Ok-bin is unrecognizable in this poster). But episodes 2-8.5 (10 total eps) really nail enemies-to-lovers and role-reversal. Might be worth a look if you are starved
i love her to death since Thirst and actually watched that whole show just for her, and guess what it was actually okay
Love alarm
10/10
is this where the femanons hang out?
we're all sisters here

Do you have any of:
Bad Guys s2
Death's Game
Black
?
Just watched "Duty After School" after seeing someone mentioning in these threads.
I got bored after 2 episodes and watched the rest at 600x speed
shit should have been 3 episodes max
I want a cute Korean girlfriend SO FRICKING BAD bros
Korean slop
I need the non-k drama fanboy opinion. Are there any subjectively good k series to watch?
What are the k series to watch for non k fans?
depends entirely on what genre you like
Are there any thriller kind, like Mr Robot? Or Hannibal.
I'll recommend Stranger aka Forest of Secrets then, it's a murder mystery, crime thriller and a political thriller
Try Mouse
Those are kind of rare, but objectively:
My Mister (unexplainable lightning in a bottle)
Mother (from someone who wrote literally 50% of all the korean movies that are well known and liked in the west, let's just say she has her own style of story telling)
and maybe try one among this list of netflix shows: The Glory, Squid Game, Death's Game, Doona... those are fast paced fun and entertaining shows more targeted toward an international audience than usual.
The vote
A shop for killers
Sweet home
Hell bound
All of us are dead
>The vote
this show doesn't exist btw
*the killing vote, sorry
Squid game and Killer Paradox are pretty non-k for you
ok
Kingdom, a zombie show set in the 17th century.
Finished Cinderella and the Four Knights and it brought back good memories. We need more comfy shows that don't take themselves too seriously
>Cinderella and the Four Knights
park so dam cute in that.
so damn cute indeed
true beauty
>Cinderella and the Four Knights
it's about a love pentagon right?
goes back in time undoing the demise of the bbeg and leaving you without any tool to beat him
Death's Game ending was stupid
**if he doesn't kill himself, he also doesn't end up later jumping in front of his car and giving him a taste of blood and the feeling of being god**
That already happened, that didn't get undone. Remember what death said, the deaths of those people were already predetermined
The Handmaiden beats all of these women shows
>rug status: munched

BULGASAL on israeliteflix but extremely kino
I didn't like that show at all, dropped it like 3 episodes in
The sisters are so damn hot. Too bad they're always wearing shabby formless clothing.
The Escape of the Seven: War for Survival
with the intro please and Mouse.
I'll work on these for next thread keep an eye out.
Escape of the Seven is from this year you should be able to find a public tracker torrent for it yourself.
Working on Mouse now.
There are several factors, but 2 are crucial:
-Koreans mostly stick to defined gender roles (men who like women and vice-versa) and solid, timeless tropes
-Koreans MAKE AN EFFORT. They're repulsed by sloppiness and both competitiveness and national character/regional traits (most Asians are like this) make them strive to do their best regardless of what they do.
Just finished this and it's certified kino. I'm a sucker for two broken people fixing each other though
>I'm a sucker for two broken people fixing each other though
Come and Hug Me is good at this too
Seems promising but isn't there a serial killer running around? I like my healing and thriller parts separate
The serial killer is the plot but the male and female lead connection just grows stronger, their situation is super fricked though
I really hate romcoms where a serial killer going after the main characters for whatever reason. Shows like that can never keep a consistent atmosphere or tone and seem to flipflop from super serious thriller to melodramatic romance
Come and Hug Me is NOT a romcom
I really hate romance dramas where a serial killer is going after the main characters for whatever reason. Shows like that can never keep a consistent atmosphere or tone and seem to flipflop from super serious thriller to melodramatic romance
It'd be fine if the random murder subplot was properly integrated but it almost always seems lazily tacked on. I like to blame Let's Eat for this shit, but I wonder what really popularized this "trend"
gonna start watching ep 13 of QoT now
>1500 minutes of slop
i admire the dedication of QoT watchers
>He doesn't skip half the scenes
What are you even doing? They forgot to edit the episodes, so you have to do it yourself, it's not that hard.
that does not sound accurate.
Ok I just finished watching ep 13. Is the writer not scared of getting death threats from the ending she's trying to build here? I still expect a twist though
Seems like a way to make the love triangle story actually mean something. Clearly they will be vying for her affection once she forgets everything.
anything kino like the handmaiden where i see two girls(asian) going at it?
Kind of. They are actually better than japan when it comes to live action shows but i´d still take anime over K-dramas.
That said, and while i´d agree 75% of current media production is shit Americans and Europeans still do some pretty good shit every now and then.
yep, it's kino time
You're just watching it for mommy.
Not true! I've dropped some mommy shows before (Mine, Agency, I hear your voice)
>dropping top mommygf kino
his face is so gross
But IU loves his face.

i made you a new mommy webm
Thanks mommybro
mommybros should help each other
She's literally me
>starts caring for someone for the first time
>life instantly turns to shit
important life lesson right there in this here kdrama
absolute unit episode, i friggin love this show bros
Am I understanding this right? Queen of Tears now has a love triangle? Dropped from my watch list if so.
>Queen of Tears now has a love triangle? Dropped from my watch list if so.
No. The FL and ML only have eyes for each other, but they have a very rocky relationship which the SML - who has loved the FL for a long time - takes as license to try and steal her away. The FL always rebukes his attempts whenever he makes his intentions known, however.
Thank you for clearing that up.
>we need an actor for a guest role of an attorney
>say no more, he's on my speed dial
https://mydramalist.com/people/21513-jeong-myung-jun
Well at least he's getting roles
I wish the guy from my mister would still get roles
supporting actors are one of the little pleasures of kdramas. It's fun to see them play to type, it's fun to see them play against it. It's like seeing an old friend show up.
this homie makes anything he's in 100% more fun including
Sometimes I get more excited seeing the supporting cast than the leads
Hong Manager! my favorite. First saw him in Coffee Prince and then I would just be happy anytime he showed up. Found out he used to be a rock star, done duets with a ton of people, including IU. He was on the Reply 1988 soundtrack too, guy is everywhere
I always like it when this guy shows up, and he shows up a lot. He was in 7 shows in 2023
loved him in Devil Judge
this guy is great too, does the sniveling corrupt toady perfectly.
I like to think that they base their shitty characters on people that have pissed them off in real life, it's perfect revenge
i like that guy too! he was in diary of a prosecutor playing against type, he was actually just a chill branch chief in that one. i first saw him in my mister
Best kdad around.
For me? its probably Lee Kyoung-young
Crazy that he still gets work after raping a minor. Meanwhile others get permanently cancelled for using weed
bro what? is that true? i just liked how he plays bad guys...
>In 2002, Lee was blacklisted by MBC since he was arrested in 2001 for the statutory rape of a minor. He was charged with prostitution of a minor with the promise of starring the girl in a movie. Lee was found guilty and sentenced with 160 hours of social service and ten months in prison with two years of probation. MBC lifted the ban in 2021, casting him in a prominent support role in The Veil.
well that's what the MDL says. It happened over 20 years ago though, that shit wouldn't fly today
>we need an actor for-
>he's already here sir
Best role of his?
For me it's the monk that keeps warning Taecyeon not to frick the underage schoolgirl ghost in Bring It On Ghost.
I liked him in Shades of the heart
I really liked the guy playing the nice senior attorney in Woo.
Isn't that Kang Ki Yu
yes it is (I'm pretty sure)
in honor of 04/20
im at the last episode!
patiently waiting for her next writing role
she made some kino with my mister and my liberation notes
Strumpet.
my shits all fricked up, started on flower of evil then decided on a whim to start queen of tears, I usually wait until all eps are out for a show, and now while waiting for new eps im really wanting to check out blood free, which also only has a few eps out - im settling into several kinos at once creating a really fragmented feeling
please pray for me
The woman that plays the hacker lady from Healer and the mom from Death's Game is always great. She must be a great mom in real life too, she plays mom's so well
I love her too. Her and Kim Hae-sook
I can't stand this b***h, every time I see her face I want to skip the scene
Felt this way
about her in Hotel King.
Is QOT still good? I heard it jumped the shark.
This episode was pretty boring honestly. But it's not bad.
it never was
Has /kdg/ ever hosted cytube watchalongs of dramas? Seems like a very obvious thing to do.
Sixteen 1hr+ episodes as a live watch-along, little less obvious than you might think.
Subtitles aren't great for streams. Have to be reading the chat and the show at the same time
How many hours of dramas do you have and why don't you know Korean?
>what happened
They started dramatically bleaching their faces few years back. Now, people come to kdrama for their share of attractive white face.
I hate love triangles. Please stop making kdramas about them.
what about love rectangles?
We need more love squares.
The lack of shows getting a dub is sad.
I don't mind reading subs that much but I like to watch TV with others and they usually hate having to read subs, so I can't watch korean shows/movies with them.
>dub
just learn korean
Should I watch Lawless Lawyer?
It's fun, and Seo Ye Ji and the ML are based. The male villain is also one of the coolest in all kdrama, and the music is great.
Watch it if you enjoy fun.
Short hair Yeji is cute
Bloodhounds is perhaps the gayest shit I have ever seen, but I enjoy anything with a decent fight scene and the boxing focused-choreo was pretty good
I think that the show ended up being butchered because the FL caught a DUI charge and they cut a bunch of her scenes and they replaced her character.
The fight scenes were exceptional for a Kdrama.
>writes your kino
How can one woman be so based?
tell me they don't look the same
lol, they do in these pics. Not the same clan either, hmmm
I'm watching Revenant this week.
Good show, lots of spoopy bits and investigating the mystery of what's happening, no romance but the FL lead is attractive.
>the FL lead is attractive
she's great in mr sunshine, twenty five twenty one, and rug munching in the handmaiden.
Was she the maid in The Handmaiden? I fricking loved that movie but it's a while since I watched it.
yes
the cover for the show looks too spooky for me. might watch it after my liberation notes
I liked it. Seconding the spooky though
nice legs
didn't enjoy that one, but i'm not big on ghost stories
This just fell flat for me. It can't decide if it wants to be a drama or a spooky show like lots of K-horror shit.
I don't mind them mixing genre
The strong point of the show was possessed Kim Tae Ri fricking shit up and murdering people, and there way was too little of that. in place we got tons of screen time about boring korean folkore...
The guy that played the autistic brother in It's Okay To Not Be Okay was good though
yes he was, the relationship / friendship between him and FL could have been more developed, instead they went for the stock "autisto" personality for his character so they didn't have to bother... the show has a lot of wasted potential
She was fine but I didn't care for the professor and the character drama. Would be nice actually if they delved into the folklore a bit more. It also would have been fine if she and the prof's grandma were just screaming like raving lunatics every episode.
The middle one was based on a web comic not original writing and ending sucked
>good morning sunshine!
>not taking my meds today, frick this
>strangle a random kitten passing by
>go over my plans to shoot some public space
>check /kdg/, post about how Suzy is a prostitute
>today's a good day

As a matter of fact I have two adopted cats.
And I guess I'm ready to move on with that prostitute.
You guys were right, the russian girl sent her boyfriend to tell me that she has a man and to leave her alone, I don't know since when since she said she didn't have one a month ago.
But I'm ready to accept that all the nice things in my life are pure and unadulterated bullshit.
I don't have family, friends, I'm apparently the lowest caste in my country since my life has been shit in here, I can't feel god, I can't relate to people and all the good things I could have or be mean dick to everyone.
No one is ever going to love me and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
Done, I'm not doing it again, so stop calling me a schizo.
>As a matter of fact I have two adopted cats.

It's okay suzybro. We're all gonna make it.
Thanks
>shows clear signs of schizophrenia
>stop calling me a schizo

that fight was over rated. Last 10 seconds were great, but it was fairly one sided.
Jiri vs Rakic was sloppy but it was a lot more entertaining.
ngl i havent watched Vincenzo cause it looks too corny even for a k-show
It starts off well, but by the last third it goes off the rails in a really bad way lol. Don't even start if, not even worth it one bit, your deductions are right
i figure. gonna start trusting my instincts more, i've started a few shows i didnt end up liking lately (taxi driver, signal)
it is unacceptable to watch a live action dub

You can always make a new one mommybro.
A fricking subway ad in Lawless Lawyer. Are you fricking kidding me
It was made between 2015-2020, of course there's subway product placement.
we all have to make a living.
It's either Baskin Robbins or Subway, pick your poison
I recently watched a cdrama with Pizza Hut PPL
For me its olivia chicken and lynx clothing.
New episode was weaker than the previous one. The plot didn't move that much.
goodbye anons
have a good weekend
you as well
