what's sad is that Hailey's has the potential to be the "next owl house" but instead wastes its main plot with the most underwhelming execution possible. Hailey should be fighting killer robots from the future while checking off another mundane task from her list.

Well, after watching this video and reading the comments, it seems that a lot of hate was already levied on HOI preemptively because Owlgays thought their show was cancelled for this, which I'm not sure is true. The video here also seems to build up that HOI would be a lore heavy show, but it's really just been an episodic show with "minor continuity and lore".
This show had kind of a rocky start too. They introduce the Chaos Bots in the pilot, but then they don't come back for around five or six episodes. A lot of stuff was aired out of order. A few times when it seems like they are going to start up and interesting side story arc, it immediately gets resolved. So it feels like a show that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. It has some killer songs, I'll give it that.
The user who made this video never really followed up on it. Maybe they ended up not liking the show, but as a content creator myself I know if I ever post something that gets 100000 times my usual engagement I'm gonna ride that sucker into the dirt.

You don't always need deep lore to have a fun and enjoyable show. The premise and characters work fine as intended.
Combination of trying to chase the high of childhood YA novels, coping about the maturity level of animation and generally having something to content farm.
