Seems to be doing fine. I was skeptical but the whole plan of putting out this PG-13 version, waiting a year, and dropping an NC-17ish one is pretty smart. He actually came up with a pretty brilliant way to milk the "snyder cut" thing.
I'm not the guy you called a tasteless Black person though, I'm this guy

>it's a long movie based on what I would have made for Disney as Star Wars >also it's two parts >oh and in a few months I'll release a director's cut >all part of a what is dreamed to be a NETFLIX franchise
no thank you
>be suit >think you can do better >butcher movie >movie flops >blame director
After all that suit is from a family who butchered movies for near a century. Of course he knows better and any failure is in the director for not providing enough good bits and pieces that can be haphazardly stitched together. If he didn't know better, his family wouldn't be in the business for so long and own that much money. Makes sense, yes?
It really bothered me that Snyder focuses on the bad guy having his teeth broken out of his mouth during the last fight but then he has all of them intact in the last scene. It's that kind of laziness that makes modern filmmaking so shit.
I liked it a lot, but the pacing falls apart after the first act and only really gets better towards the ending. Trying to fit this into two hours was stupid and not releasing the longer cut simultaneously is pure greed.
Who the frick cares how long a movie is? If you don't have time to watch a long movie as a whole, just pause it, it's a streaming exclusive, for gods sake.
>these are the imperial troops from planet Imperius, the seat of the imperial empire >they are all dressed in imperial clothes and also have roman names
>these are a rebel faction called the rebels, they come from a planet rebelia, that is currently rebelling against the empire
>these are farmers from the farmlands of Farmia, they all look like farmers and they farm grain
>this is a robot made for warfare, he is a roboticus mechanicus from the factories of factoria mechanica robotica, he is made for war but he doesn't want to fight, he also fights amazingly well and kills people in a cool way
>this is a shirtless tarzano from the planet tarzania, he has long hair and is good with animals, here he tames a gryphon also from the planet tarzania which is also known in the old tongue as gryphonia, because it has gryphons, he's good at taming them
pretty much 90% true, Zack's "world building" is on the level of a 8 year old kid playing with action figures. If you can even call it world building, someone said it was "world borrowing" because everything is just taken from something else and just changed very, very slightly.
>comically evil galaxy-spanning empire chances upon a tiny village that has like 15 people and three houses >they bully the locals a bit because the imperials are cartoonishly evil >the farmers then, instead of simply ... moving somewhere out of the way or hiding or evacuating or whatever decide to make a stand >make a stand.... against the ship that can annihilate them through orbital bombardment >to that end they send out two people to "assemble a team" >the team consists of multiple dodgy characters, none of which can do frick all against orbital bombardment
Oh yeah, the imperials needed that village because, get this ... they needed grain.
Even though the imperials obviously can zip around many start systems and stock up anywhere, even though they likely wouldn't even go on a mission without stocking up at their home base ... nope, they needed to stock up in grain on the go in whatever tiny village they can find.
I think the grain is the dumbest plot point. If theyve got ships flying around, they have indoor crops that can be perfectly regulated. Could have been anything else. Idk what this hardon for harassing farmers is.
It's actually really good.
No its not you tasteless Black person. Its a piece of hot garbage
It's good, its thrilling and awesome.
Hey, Zack!
It's not even close to good.

The character introductions of the 7 samurai were shit. Other than that, pretty comfy tropey space adventure.
>20 yo CGI
> comfy tropey space adventure
He's right, it is. It's perfectly safe and by the numbers franchise building product, as this version. Does all the things it's supposed to do.
>no one liked it and no one cares
>franchise building product,
i turned it off after 5 minutes
How many shill threads about this have been made in the last few days? 100? 1000?
Welcome to Cinemaphile newfren, this happens for literally every release.
>no one liked it and no one cares
It was fine to me. You might just be bubbled off and restricted to internet opinion.
>It was fine to me.
Yeah, we already established you are a tasteless Black person
I'm not the guy you called a tasteless Black person though, I'm this guy
>people talk about a movie
>must be shills
That just means it's popular
>it's a long movie based on what I would have made for Disney as Star Wars

You mean when he was in a VR simulation
No, when he's in the tank outside of the simulation. There are several shots of his full denture.
yeah its no clone either
also, he can somehow lift himself up with two broken arms
I liked it a lot, but the pacing falls apart after the first act and only really gets better towards the ending. Trying to fit this into two hours was stupid and not releasing the longer cut simultaneously is pure greed.

Who keeps giving him money to make movies ffs
If it wasn't for his exec wife and the streaming era's ridiculous business model he'd be an unemployed hentai cartoonist at best
Can you imagine Zack Snyder doing a low budget drama
>these are the imperial troops from planet Imperius, the seat of the imperial empire

How true is this?
pretty much 90% true, Zack's "world building" is on the level of a 8 year old kid playing with action figures. If you can even call it world building, someone said it was "world borrowing" because everything is just taken from something else and just changed very, very slightly.
There was actually no bust whatsoever, Butterra is flat as frick.
The entire movie is grotesquely stupid.

For anyone reading this who is still human and not one of those... Things (indian shillbot).... this movie is fricking crap
Snyder should unironically move to Bollywood. He'd be right at home.
Honestly it’s so fricking bad
the znyder cut will fix it
i israelited it. 7/10
