they're both garbage
arguably the best disney ST ever produced
That's not saying much
doesn't change the OP
you have to be brain damaged to like kenobi and hate rogue one
True but the statement:
>you have to be brain damaged to hate kenobi and like rogue one
is also true
Nope. Unironically Solo was the best movie.
braindead contrarian
Rogue One sucks. It looks pretty but all the characters are boring, the plot is redundant.
Mandalorian season 1.
Rouge One is a 6/10, which is the best Disnee trash nuwars has produced... by far
Rogue One is pure garbage. Solo is the closest to being decent.
finally, someone with a fricking brain on Cinemaphile
if you're implying that rogue one is good you're also brain damaged
They praised Solo. They are contrarian Trekkies posing as OT fanboys.
They're not even real Trekkies. They're members of the Carpet Cult that is TNG.
True
>They are contrarian Trekkies
They're not tho. They only like TNG and DS9 stuff.
tng and ds9 often go hand in hand since they are ultimately similar in presentation. the "more mature" themes of ds9 was pretty mild honestly.
>release Solo, which borrows little Star Wars imagery besides the MF
>bombs
>release Rogue One, filled with all kinds of classic Star Wars vehicles, weapons and characters
>people call it fanfiction
If I was a Disney executive I'd kill myself. These people want nothing.
>release Solo
Oh right I completely forgot that exists.
man
solo really sucked lol
>filled with all kinds of classic Star Wars vehicles, weapons and characters
Shoving things people recognize on screen doesn't mean it's good.
Everything made by Disney is rehashed shit, but prequel haters have no right to complain since Disney is giving them exactly what they wanted.
mike said that watching rogue one in the theater with star wars fans was like watching porn with a bunch of perverts and i agree
Is this real. Can't bother to watch. I thought they shitting on nuStarWars since prequels.
They got what they wanted 🙂
...but JJ didn't direct the prequels?
that episode where they said they were not responsible when they 100% are
Disney listen to the moronic prequel haters and did exactly what they wanted
> episode 4 directed by JJ
Sequels were objectively better directed than the Prequels
you're objectively moronic
This is why nobody takes you prequel zoomies seriously
How come the prequels are memorable and actually sold toys while years old Guardians of the Galaxy Lego sets outsold all of star Wars merchandise for TFA?
Turns out movies made for manchildren don't appeal to children. Kids don't give a shit about OT nostalgia/purism.
>the prequels are memorable
They're not. Without the RLM reviews and the constant memes no one would remember a single thing.
lol Darth Maul has been rivalling Vader as most iconic Star Wars villain since day one, but sure it's just memes and shit bro
WHY IT'S NOT GREVIOUS?
What the frick does that have to do with directing? The prequels were terribly directed films
the sad thing is that prequels had a decent plot but was told so horribly. I dont think sequels even get to have that excuse.
>The prequels were terribly directed films
Why? Because the man on youtube said so?
Prequels were designed solely for the merchandise. They had lots of jedis with different colored lightsabers, cool looking clone troopers and military vehicles, and bug action scenes involving thousands of CG mooks going at it. The movies were ass but the prequels were the golden age of SW videogames, and there has been practically nothing from the sequels besides Fallen Order and Squadrons.
That's cynical. It just lent itself well into toys, toys were in mind but didn't come first. Awesome designs of everything, it's wild how cool some of that shit was.
Then the sequels made nothing new. They made an x-wing put split the engine. They did nothing. Not good toys, might as well buy OT toys.
The Vintage Collection toyline, the 3'75 figures, has not made a sequel trilogy figure in about seventy released figures. I'm sure the Black Series has similar numbers relative to that line but I don't collect those.
He never once said JJ should write the scripts though which is where the sequels failed.
Black person they talk all the time about how they like the writer/director to be the same person. But this one time they were actually saying the opposite?
No they can tell the difference. Like when they were talking about the Dr. Strange movie, they never once said anything about Rami being to blame for bad writing since he had nothing to do with it. He was brought in to direct the movie. They didn't need JJ to write the Star Wars movies, just direct them because he has a good visual eye even though he has his obsession with lens flares.
Lucas is arguably the best visual director alive today, anyone claiming he should be replaced to improve the visuals is genuinely braindead
>Lucas is arguably the best visual director alive today
Even if you like the prequels, this is an insanely stupid thing to say
>shot/reverse shot for most dialogue scenes
Sure thing
>quoting Plinkett without a hint of irony
Where's the irony? It's primarily what he did for episode 2 and 3 which is boring as frick.
they made up their fake bro nerd bazinga personality by prequel bashing. they can't admit they were wrong now without looking stupid so they cope by praising disney corp products
Every time they have to reiterate that "the prequels are still bad, guys", it feels a bit sadder. Mike hasn't apologised for giving a pretty much glowing review to TFA yet either. As much as Rogue One isn't great, it's better than that piece of shit.
i watched their kenobi review and i have never seen anything from these people besides this video and they just sound like they are pretending to like film/tv and just reading from a script of the most controversial and contrarian things they could think of.
Sounds like Cinemaphile
>rich screeching about how he hates over the top fights interrupting everyone about how he prefers the cheapness
why is he always the worst
Jay still hates it. Mike and Rich are getting old and more able to consume shit.
the funniest part of this was watching Jay try and subtly say how he really felt about the show without triggering the other two.
Rogue One is the best thing Disney has done so far. Kenobi is decent and improving. Solo was ok but nothing more. Mando was promising but the wheels have fallen off. Book of Boba Fett had a strong first episode but sucked thereafter. And the sequel trilogy was an abomination, that damn near killed the entire franchise at worst, and ruined its magic at best.
And yet everything they do is still leagues better than the prequels no matter how hard they fail and how dogshit their shows and movies seem to be
How much are they paying you?
Not enough
>Rogue One is the best thing Disney has done so far.
Disney has made some watchable movies. Rogue One isn't one of them
Rogue One got chopped up too hard by all the Mouse-mandated reshoots. It might've been more interesting if they kept the original gritty vision and ditched the creepy CG zombie actors.
They are correct and not easily impressed like you homosexuals
All Star Wars fans are brain damaged.
They're both irredeemable trash
PTSD Kenobi is okay and it looks like a cheap tv show. Everything is correct about that.
>"I'm okay with it"
Can someone please explain to Rich that this is a completely worthless contribution? He interrupted Jay several times with this garbage.
Rich makes no bones about the fact that he stopped investing in Star Wars long, long ago. He still says there's only a handful of stories you can tell in SW's entire galaxies' worth of setting.
I expected nothing less from that left mouthbreathing moron, but surprised that Mike seems to have given up completely or maybe he has gone senile dunno.
I can't remember a single character from Rouge one
British lady
Big Robot
Asian guys
Russian guy
Forest Whitaker
Mads Mikkelsen
Haven't watched it since release. Stop smoking so much weed.
oh yeah, I remember the big robot.
Both Mike and Rich said they're only liking it because Picard was so bad the bar was set low enough for anything to be passable in their eyes. They also just say it's "super okay" meaning it's a little above average for them. I'm with Jay where it looks bad overall.
its not little above average. super ok meant it was high budget average, as it they spent a ton of money for the sole purpose of it being just ok with no intention of it being better than ok.
Rich lost weight but his head remained the same size.
both are garbage. and yes.
>another RLM thread
How have you homosexuals not gotten bored of saying the same shit over and over every day about RLM for literally a decade now?
Rogue One was terrible BUT it did have an amazing piece of sci fi space battling and some decent shots
they should have really made the story much more straight forward the twists didn't do it any favors and there were too many characters to the point I didn't really care about any of them
also casting the lead as an unlikeable b***h is beyond stupid
do people actually care about characters?
for me star wars has always been about the setting and basically everything besides the characters.
if you stop caring about characters and just focus on everything else modern movies are a lot more interesting.
Wait, you're serious?
>Luke
>Han
>Leia
>Vader
>Obi
>Chewie
>R2 and 3PO
You just now realizing that people enjoy star wars for the characters? Are you just a brainlet that likes watching things go BOOM?
>Luke
Even Lucasfilms don't care about him.
Yeah, and they wrote such brilliant characters as British Girl and Blind Guy in RO.
so why do they keep circling around OT timeframe? its so fricking packed with revisions and stapled-on canon. you just released a sequel trilogy with a brand new fresh timeframe to work with. why the frick arent disney using it? wasnt that the entire point, to have a brand new crop field of canon to create and milk for extended canon merch?
Internally, the sequel trilogy was a massive failure and all projects around that time period in Star Wars was cancelled. That's why they are just going to keep going back in time to OT, Prequel, and Old Republic era stuff.
I guess that cancelling them in response makes sense if you think about board room decisions, but not cancelling them would have been the better option since extended canon was what saved prequels imo.
Consider that Disney Plus-es target audience is 10 year olds who watch Cinderella and Aladdin. By that metric, Kenobi is better.
“The team threw a Hail Mary to George, saying the game would have more credibility if the apprentice had a ‘Darth’ title,” a Force Unleashed team member says. Lucas agreed that this situation made sense for Sith royalty, and offered up two Darth titles for the team to choose from. “He threw out ‘Darth Icky’ and ‘Darth Insanius.’ There was a pregnant pause in the room after that. People waiting for George to say ‘just kidding,’ but it never comes, and he just moved on to another point.”
George blew them the frick out and they were too stupid to understand it.
He was just pretending to be moronic. For 10 years.
*post-ROTJ, really
their views on disney wars are pretty much always shit, that's why im glad picard ruined star trek for them
I truly feel sorry for Jay. He is constantly bullied by these other two autists and just stays quiet for the money. I wish he would do his own podcast.
>its good since its bad
What the frick were they on about.
Are they going senile? No joke i had no idea how any "argument" they made was in favor of the show.
What I'll never get is why they used Rogue One for that horrible "AT-AT, X-Wings!" bit. Rogue One added a few different vehicles and trooper variants and I mean it's ends at the start of ANH.
Meanwhile, TFA is like twenty years after Jedi and there's X-Wing, TIEs, etc. Most memberberries I've seen in a movie but THAT didn't get a bit mocking it.
