I wish he banned himself.
not ike pearlmutter?
Ike isn't a creative.
he still worked on them
The article is specifically about actors and writers/directors, not producers.
oh
Good. Whedon fricking ruined blockbusters.
>Whedon fricking ruined blockbusters.
Take your meds. Seriously.
Hate repeating myself but since there are always morons like you: without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
>Maybe it's for the bet-
Stfu seriously just shut the frick up. As much as I enjoy shitting on MCU it's still has some good movies. Iron Man 1 and 2 isn't enough. And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
That doesn't mean he's a bottomless wellspring of good movies. In fact, by my calculations, we have emptied the wellspring to the bottom and we don't need to keep going back.
He's great at writing funny dialogue and character interactions, but not telling larger stories. He should run a coffee shop AU.
>without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
>without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
Fricking good. Capeshit is a cancerous tumor that choked out the rest of the film industry with its samey overbloated overbudgeted over-CGI'd shit.
>masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
They still don't, the MCU did literally nothing to help comic sales. If we're being honest it probably did more harm than good in that space too, because it let executives and creators get lazy by just pointing to the movies and saying "look how popular these characters are!", becoming comfortable putting out dogshit so long as it had the right brand name attached to it.
>Hate repeating myself but since there are always morons like you: without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
Right because they totally spent three movies setting this shit up to NOT follow through based on whether or not the Buffy guy signed on.
>without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
You're only making anon's point for him. Whedon ruined blockbusters
It would be for the best
>without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
And that'd be a good thing.
>And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
What the hell are you talking about? The MCU never brought droves of the comics.
It did how tragically ruin comics in an attempt too.
>And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
The masses have not, and will not ever give one single frick about comic books.
>And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
The masses still don't give a frick about comic books, virtually none of the MCU's success transferred over to the funnybooks.
Worth it to never hear about Wakanda.
>And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books if Whedon's movie wasn't such a success.
MCU fans never cared about comics.
>without Joss there would be NO MCU and NO Avengers
Good. MCU sucks. Avengers is a shit movie.
>And masses wouldn't give A FRICK about comic books
They don't. At best they would sneer at comic books and how MCU "elevated the childish source material to actual grown up entertainment".
So they blacklisted Whedon but continue to use his approach to dialogue. How frustrating.
The same approach they were already using in the Iron Man movies before Whedon even joined the MCU?
The Iron Man movie was mostly all adlibbed and made up on set Anon, thats why it worked. Because the actors were allowed to actually act instead of read imitations of what they might say lol
>The same approach they were already using in the Iron Man movies before Whedon even joined the MCU?
there's far more sincerity and balance in Iron Man 1 compared to later MCU.
and if everyone is Spiderman or Iron Man, then everything becomes monotonous and shit.
Marvel Comics classic had all types of different personalities and tones
It's just the James Gunn approach to dialog now.
But I liked Serenity
Broken clocks and all that.
He was doing okay with Avengers 1 but then the third wave feminists corrupted his tiny dick and he got too caught up with trying to appeal to them.
frick
no
>Not bendis and slott.
Is this just the fallout from Whedon getting MeTooed making him radioactive or did something happen between him and Feige or Disney?
Knowing Whedon's track record with pretty much every company he's ever worked with? Could go either way.
I'd wager that Whedon had enough clout to push back a bit and complain about Feige, the whole affair thing and AoU's lesser box office and reception is just a convenient excuse to make look like it's not an ego thing.
After the success of The Avengers, Whedon got named creative director of Phase 2, giving notes on all MCU projects, and already rubbed some people off the wrong way with his abrasive attitude.
Avengers: Age of Ultron also turned out to be a very troubled production, with Whedon clashing with producers frequently. And when the movie underperformed both critically and commercially, he was quick to blame Marvel for its shortcomings, which is Feige's number 1 no-no and the reason even Victoria Alonso got the boot despite being number 3 in the entire Marvel hierarchy.
What did Alonso do that got her shitcanned? Wasn't she in charge of the CG farms?
She was on thin ice with the higher-ups because she, alongside Latondra Newton who was also canned shortly after, dragged Disney into that Florida thing, but what broke the camel's back was that she was moonlighting as a producer for Amazon.
Understandable.
What'd Whedon do that pissed him off so much?
Joss Whedon got canceled by feminists a while ago, probably that. Got bit by the hand he fed
He's known for being an abrasive butthole to his writers and producers, something that came up after WB ran a smear op after Justice League bombed.
What about Terrence Howard?
Next time, baby.
Joss Whedon literally ruined Hollywood writing forever with his quip formula. Frick him but the damage is already done so it doesn't make a difference.
Ah, its so nice to finally see the world turn on that overrated hack Whedon...
Ah, it would be so nice to never see a tripgay named "Boco" ever again...
I miss Eric Bana
>Edward Norton
This is solely Feige being a little b***h
So, what did Norton do?
One of the Hulk movies?
No, I mean, why did they ban him at the same level than Whedon?
was constantly in conflict with marvel over the direction of the movie
It's funny because seeing the direction the Hulk took in the MCU without him I have few options but to believe he was right.
maybe but i meant that norton wanted the movie to be more of a character study whereas marvel wanted more action
He really wanted to do the Ang Lee movie again?
Seriously I'd have objections too. If he was against Professor Hulk I am 100 percent on his side.
The Hulk should be a character study to at least a not insignificant extent.
Time has really warmed my opinion on that movie. The comic transitions where still weird.
Norton wanted a contemplative Hulk movie and was meddling with the script/directing to move it that direction.
This deleted scene is an example of what he made:
Basically, he wanted to do kino instead of..... whatever the frick modern MCU Hulk is.
We could had got this since he knew how to act due to American Story and Fight Club
but nope
these three b***hes already did more damage than Whedon ever did
Bad move.
Now you can't blame Whedon anymore when your movie is garbage.
kek as if the crazy 0-math homie isn't blacklisted as well. and I haven't even watched past the second Avengers, there's probably like half a dozen at this point
Not Cinemaphile
