The original killer was this black guy who killed the three girls because they bullied his girlfriend, Fat-Trish, and got her drunk one night at a party and then let her drive home and she died.
The second killer(who killed her mum) was a podcaster who made a career out of the case but was losing listeners because with only three kills almost forty years ago interest wasn't that high so he killed again in the same style hoping for a resurgence in his dwindling numbers. And he killed her mum because she was the last member of the friend group who killed Fat-Trish but wasn't killed in 1987 because she and the other three were having a fight at the time and she wasn't there when they got Fat-Trish drunk and sent her home.
