There's your answer. If he made a movie like his old classics it wouldn't even get greenlit. So now he's stuck directing the same tripe as everyone else. And there aren't any other options because hollywood doesn't care about what audiences think anymore.

>"Not even Scorsese makes Scorsese movies anymore." >There's your answer. If he made a movie like his old classics it wouldn't even get greenlit.
Scorsese is rich, as are several of his A-list actor friends. They don't need Hollywood, unless they want to spend $200 million on some Netflix slop.
>So now he's stuck directing the same tripe as everyone else.
You act as if he was resigned to this, when it’s clear from the fact that a clip of him thanking the audience played before the movie began, and that he personally delivers the epilogue at end; that this was his passion project.

It's not even a tragedy. It's all obvious, 1-dimensional shite with wooden actors. I didn't even feel the pain of the Indian women, as she just held the same look and said the same shite in every scene.
She’s horrible. I remember her saying that Top Gun Maverick wouldn’t do well because the audience was too white. What an idiot.
Is she israeli or just a brainwashed goy?
>Killers of the Flower Moon is a 2023 American epic revisionist Western[5] crime drama film[6] directed and produced by Martin Scorsese, who co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth, based onthe 2017 book of the same name by David Grann. >crime drama >book >american
frick me that sounds dull. when i watch a movie, i want it to be bright, adventurous, funny, i want to feel like i'm on a theme park ride!
It looks boring as frick. I hate capeshit, but senile Scorsese and his gang of boomers doing the same old shit are almost as unappealing. And that runtime…
>De Niro is also a has been.
Funny how since his “Frick Trump!” at the Oscars he’s gotten divorce raped, lost a bunch on money on investments and can’t make a decent movie to save his life.
I find it funny that my cookie cutter liberal friend went to go see this shit by himself because "muh demon whyte man", was probably the only nig in the entire showing.
No one cares about fricking Indians, they were wiped out in the days of our great x5 grandparents and what's left are greedy, incestuous, parasites. To sell their plight now is like trying to make the rest of the world give a frick about israelites dying in Israel
This, "vilification" of the chosen people must end. They are persecuted people wrongly accused of crimes out of spite of their superior success in business and in all fields of academia.
Anon, it's a 3.5 hour long slow drama.
The highest grossing Martin Scorsese movie is Wolf of Wall Street at $390M. Marty is not a blockbuster director.
honestly this, girls don't want to watch 3.5 hours of brooding '20s crime drama, but they will drag their bfs to 3 hours of Taylor swift and the bfs much prefer it to spending $1000 on Taylor swift concert tickets
This. My theater's showing of flower moon was disturbed by CONSTANT base drumming from the fricking Taylor Swift movie playing next door. the theater was packed too
Saw it yesterday and hated it, I had to fight the urge to walk out. They tell you the plot about half an hour in and the following 3 hours you watch it slowly unfold.
make cheaper budget movies, lmao.
what are these studios too good to make "B-Movies" now, huh, oh no our $200 million film couldn't make back the money, it was so great and important, boo-hoo
The discourse is from chuds who think if the cast of a movie isn't 100% white it's white genocide, and also Marvel fans who hate Scorsese for trashing the MCU
The discourse is from chuds who think if the cast of a movie isn't 100% white it's white genocide, and also Marvel fans who hate Scorsese for trashing the MCU
This. Anyone who uses words like “discourse” is a feminine low IQ gay 100% of the time
at that point they might as well just burn the money at least it'd make a nice bonfire, Oppenheimer will make a $billion dollars selling merchendise and rights AFTER the almost $billion at the boxoffice.
if all decently budgeted films go directly to streaming purgatory there is literally no money earned, zero, Hollywood is going to commit seppuku
>White people bad! >White people greedy! >White people kill minorities! >Watch movie and feel guilty or you're racist!
No thanks. Normies are finally waking up to this shit too.
>What went wrong?
People want to spend their time doing something fun. Do you honestly believe people are going to subject themselves to a movie going yet another historical tragedy? As if we don't have enough problems already, we need to be reminded of fricked up shit that happened in the past. Nah man, most people go to the movies for entertainment.
There's also another detail that I feel people gloss over, and that is that, whether consciously or subconsciously, not a lot of people find native americans all that interesting. When you mention westerns (I know this movie isn't a western but it's the genre in which they're referenced the most), people usually think about cowboys and outlaws, not indians even though they hystorically were a huge part of it, and that's because, I imagine, being reminded of them leaves most americans with a sense of discomfort so they would rather erase them from memory instead. It's either that, or, again, simply the fact that most people don't find natives all that cool that they'd wanna hear about them for 3 hours straight
>most people don't find natives all that cool
And yet back when people were "racist" they couldn't get enough Indians, they named their football teams and helicopters and children after them and watched them at the movies every week
Natives ruined all that by b***hing about every single thing they were in. They wanted all the teams to remove them as mascots. They got mad at every film that had them. They hated every book about them. So now people are just fed up with them.
Like if you are a white guilt liberal, why would you go see this movie knowing that Chief Whisky River and Chief Meth Moon are probably just going to condemn the film as racist anyway.
90% of the time it was white people who were like 1/16th Cherokee that b***hed about it. Indians never really cared. Same thing that happened with Mexicans and Speedy Gonzalez. Mexicans fricking loved that little dude and white people ruined it for them.
Elvis Presleys "Flaming Star" where he played a half-breed. according to wikipedia >Budget$ 1.7 million >Box office $2 million
a better success than Killers of a flower moon, also Chuck Norris kick-ass direct to video "Forest Warrior (1996)" which he wrote and directed
and Steven Seagals "On Deadly Ground" where he plays a native american. single handely destroying a greedy oil company >Budget $50 million >Box office $78.1 million
Scorcese with his $200 million movie got owned by both Elvis Presely, Steven Segal and Chuck Norris
Americans, especially after the Wild West era, loved Indians because they were thought to embody a certain American spirit. It's also around that time National Parks became a thing, conservationists, too, the Teddy Roosevelt era, a reaction to mass industrialization. >naming their children
Now that's not true, I hardly remember anyone with Indian names
>not a lot of people find native americans all that interesting
that's just cause they haven't really tried to integrate into society. They just live on their reservations and do casinos.
Who's a famous Native American that isn't some Hollywood actor?
The thing with Scorsese is that he gets capeshit budgets to make actual artistic movies that the average normie manchild is not going to enjoy.
Case in point:
>simply the fact that most people don't find natives all that cool that they'd wanna hear about them for 3 hours straight
I'm just tired of anything that sells the innocence of a group for the entire run time, I get it. Native genocide blah blah, but this isn't so far gone in our history that a tale needs to be weaved about them, so you either look like a moron or a suck up if you make a 3hr movie on how slavery was bad or how natives were slaughtered. This is something we learned since fricking 4th grade, I dont need this shit in my free adult time.
Well of course, why the frick would schools ever paint injuns, nigs, spics, and asiatics in a negative light? For the longest time I felt bad for the Japanese because of Hiroshima, then you find out what these bug men really got up to and suddenly you don't feel an ounce of remorse.
>discomfort
they actually just all look like homosexuals in their outfits so i never cared for them much. i thought of them as gay in the same way that i find the rebellion in star wars fricking gay and always rooted for empire
>Prefers watching Di Caprio act like a moron with marbles in his mouth for 3 hours
Would rather see the world from the locals' view. It's a very interesting time period.
>Bring the theatre shit to the front >Have a detective get off the train in a misty noir-ish way >Experience the wild parties of the Osage, and see the debauchery and alcoholism in play >Build a whodunnit mystery which saps the fun out of the town and gives it a bitter edge >Turns out everybody is the killer >Have some mystical elements with Osage beliefs fighting secret societies in the background
Nolan would've smashed it.
>Getting this defensive over muh scorsezzy
You barely got to see any of the natives, learn about the oil trade, see the wealth, etc. It's fricking gash. Yet another film of a washed old directed fawning over de niro, who's fricking shit. Some di caprioa and di nero scenes were embarrassingly bad.
Also, it's impossible to know how much time passes in the movie, kek.
>Getting this defensive over muh scorsezzy
I don't give a frick about that wop boomer im just telling you that you're gay and your taste is shit >You barely got to see any of the natives
every second character is a fricking native >learn about the oil trade
not relevant >see the wealth
literally showed all the women with fancy clothes and all the young natives at all white private schools with fancy cars and servants >Also, it's impossible to know how much time passes in the movie, kek.
Maybe if you have brain damage
Scorsese movies aren't good anymore because you used to be able to self-insert and have a good time. Casino. Wolf of Wall Street. Taxi Driver. The Departed. Goodfellas. You wanted to have their life, to be that guy, to have their woman. Now it's just old depressing boomers. No one wants to be that.
I think Silence and KotFM both suffer from the narrative feeling like its on rails with barely any suprises. Silence has that one Japanese fisher betray them I think five times? Both build towards an epic finale and never really deliver.
>You wanted to have their life
Bad choice of words, but I get what you mean: their stories were exciting in a way or the other despite many of them being miserable, they weren't all dramatic frowns and sad old fricks, there was cool shit happening in them. Like the Scorsese cameo
>do you know who lives there? >the flower moon lives there >and i'm gonna kill it
bravo scorcese
, that character goes insane and goes through some shit that'd make any guy mad, but it's so entertaining to watch, even though you know what he's enduring is horrible. It isn't so much self inserting as it is empathisying with these troubled individuals' worries, basically imagining if your life was as shit as theirs. It really makes you appreciate your own life more to see it's not that bad, or if it IS as bad as theirs THEN you can truly self insert. Either way I think I get you anon
Leo is an outdated asset, he doesnt hold the value he once did
Trailer looks downright shit
The indian girl is ugly, purpsefully so? feels like pandering
Not a story anyone below 30 would be interested in
Could be any of those, I'll ultimately watch it at some point, but the trailer really did not sell me even a slight bit on this movie.
I didn't hate it but 3.5 hours is too fricking long for a movie to watch in a theater. I wish I had just streamed it or pirated it so I could take an intermission around the time the FBI shows up
i watched the film Australia (2008) in theaters that movie was 2 hr 45 mins AND had a movie theater intermission where everyone went about did their business and came back.
Scorcese has no class not having an intermission for his film. even certain theatre showings of LotR have theatre intermissions
If you're gonna make a 3 hour movie about white man bad then you at least gotta make the actors and actresses attractive. I have sat through many longer movies. Gone With the Wind, The Beautiful Troublemaker, Cleopatra, Dances with Wolves, Giant, Spartacus, Titanic, Celine and Julie Go Boating, etc etc. The difference is the movies do not involve watching decrepit old people hobble around for 3 hours trying to make you feel bad.
And for any Hollywood ghouls that might be reading this, no, this does not mean cast twinks like Timothee Chalamet in everything. And no, Zendaya does not count as attractive.
1. US theatre going is dead
2. only americans give a shit about scorsese
3. its a fricking 3 hour moronic forensic files dramatizaion that portrays the victims in a shittier light than some learniing disablity who was murdered for insurance >4. an even more shitty white guilt after school special tier non-ending after this homosexual had 3 and a half hour to tell the story
Leo spends all his free time on a yacht fricking 20 years old models. I just can't take him seriously in anything. I know he's probably getting his dick sucked between takes.
You can't be a real actor unless you experience suffering and hardship first hand.
yeah the lack of any fatherly presence by him towards his kids was stunning, leo is a mental manchild in an aging body. He's going to hit the wall fast unless he pumps out a kid in a loving marriage
probably everyone asked for up-front fees instead of a % of box office or participation in streaming sales (because they knew there wouldn't be any lol)
>What went wrong? This movie has an all star cast
That doesn't do much these days, movie stars are a thing of the past. And a 200mil historical/western epic that's over 3 hours long is obviously a guaranteed flop in the current cinematic climate. Nolan pulled it off because he's practically a household name by this point and his film was also a part of the one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever.
Release Oppie at the same time as Barbie turned out to be the most brilliant viral marketing campaign ever.
It will never be topped for sheer audacity.
Dwells on some characters for huge amounts of screen time while using other characters as disposable props for just a few minutes to set up their murder. That Osage who had "melancholy" would have been a far more interesting character to watch than Ernest, but he's just there as a victim to show more cruelty of the white man.
Only one character got a life sentence, the ringleader who orchestrated over 30 murdeds of Osage people. He was let out early. He was told not to go back to the state where the murders happened but he did anyways and was not punished for it. He died peacefully in a retirement home.
If you're gonna make lazy bait at least try to act like you even bothered to read a wikipedia summary (I don't expect a moron like you to go see the film, don't worry).

besides Will Hale was a lackey himself
the big winners were the oil barons, they only appeared in one short scene in the movie, as if to symbolize how they're always behind the scenes
>Hale mentions how the murders will be forgotten and swept under the rug because people would rather not think about them >exactly that happens
Are you dense?
If the OP did it out of ambiguity, then the true is that its either 6 or 9, depending on your POV. And therefore both opionions on the both are true at the same time.
>Some ugly Bangttingh'oh (the Native word for the sound an empty beer can makes when it hits a Native woman that ends up murdered by her fellow natives but whitey will still be blamed) and her partner blame whitey for being bad, getting oil, developing land, or some other shit literally who gives a frick this movie look like white guilt trash why the hell would anyone want to see it
I'm sick of woke nonsense, oscar bait, capeshit and overblown modern Hollywood dramas that have no reason to be as long as they are.
This film was just almost 4 hours of Leo mumbling incoherently with a couple of undercooked murder setpieces, drawn out scenes of nothing happening and when information does get dumped on the audience, the story doesn't even have enough to it.
In the end I just didn't care.
There's no soul to this film. I basically stopped following what was even happening eventually.
People keep posting: Hurr durr it's a woke movie, but i saw it and here are some facts: >there is complete honesty about race mixing >what i mean about this: the women are admonished and the reality of the race disappearing is said in the movie >no other movie has ever been this honest about race mixing >the evil white protagonist are israeli freemasons
Ít's pretty redpilled tbh, sure it's from the perspective of indians but that doesn't mean that redpills are being dropped. Plus it looks gorgeous and it was really comfy in the sense that they had the atmosphere of the 1900's right. All in all, the movie is simply too goddamn long, shave off an hour, and you got a really nice movie.
Lol Don't lie to people, there aren't redpills dropping in this movie. The evil protagonists are billed as white and the film is marketed as the ruin of Indigenous People's homelands by whitey. It's not even a blackpill about racemixing, just that "white" (men) are bad.
If Cinemaphile's first glance is that it is yet another 2023 goyslop movie, and all the promotional interviews are catering to those themes, they should trust their instincts that this film is exactly as billed.

Based anon BTFOing the usual shill homosexuals.
This movie is just the latest example of the you-know-whos blaming white people for the evil shit ((they)) did.
Any time a movie title is a sentence long and could be the words of someone having a stroke, you can tell it's going to be pretentious Oscar bait trash with zero staying power. >Killers of the flower moon >Extremely loud and incredibly close >Licorice Pizza >The murder of the hero Jesse James by the coward whoever the frick
Watched this film recently. Good set design but the plot was weak. Deus ex machine when the feebs turn up and just figure everything out based on witneses never previously mentioned The woman knows she's being poisoned presumably from the hospital but despite the 3hr run time they couldn't show this They can't figure out how to finish the film so switch to narration
>Deus ex machine when the feebs turn up and just figure everything out based on witneses never previously mentioned

irrelevant
No. They reveal what's happening in the first 10 minutes.
Also when Dicaprio plays his character as basically moronic why is that girl supposed to fall for him? No reason other than the writer says so.
>No. They reveal what's happening in the first 10 minutes.
and? what are you trying to say? >Also when Dicaprio plays his character as basically moronic why is that girl supposed to fall for him? No reason other than the writer says so.
Because it's a retelling of something that actually happened. Maybe she saw he had a really huge dick through his trousers? Maybe she liked his laugh? How the frick should anybody know why?

That's the film. No interesting plot

He's DiCaprio, that's why.

that's the frickin point homie thats why the plot works homie
Holy frick you’re moronic, that’s the entire point of the film. Leo b***hed and got it changed which is why you have the boring slop you have now
>that’s the entire point of the film
well clearly it isn't kek >Leo b***hed and got it changed which is why you have the boring slop you have now
cool, go shift into a universe where that's the movie that was made and go talk about it there
Leo ruined the film, I’m not kidding. I say this as a big fan of his acting, he and DeNiro were the worst parts of this movie.
He fricked with the script and made it about him, we got boring predictable slop because of him
>He fricked with the script and made it about him, we got boring predictable slop because of him
Leo was supposed to play the lead in the original script, too.
It was Scorsese who fricked with it. The old wop got white-guilted by his new idol, ~~*Ari Aster*~~. >"After a certain point, I realized I was making a movie about all the white guys," Scorsese said in a new Time cover story. "Meaning I was taking the approach from the outside in, which concerned me."
Scorsese decided that instead of making a movie where the white lead is a good guy (FBI Agent mystery), he had to make a movie where the "white" (according to all the marketing) lead is evil. Positive portrayals of white people, even historically-accurate portrayals, are no longer acceptable to wokeoids.
>The Wolf of Wallstreet
One of the worst thing I've ever watched. It's clear Scorsese just let Di Caprio and Jonah Hill just frick around with his movie.
White people no longer want to pay for antiwhite propaganda, black people don’t have the stamina for a movie that long that doesn’t have explosions and The Rock in it and all other Indian tribes hate the Osage, Mexicans are too busy working for $5/hr, Chinese don’t care, israelites are too small,of a group to impact the box office and pajeets are busy doordadhing and ubering.
The movie literally doesn’t have an audience.
Why the frick should I care about what actors are in a movie? They're all doing what the director tells them to do
Mainstream audiences want escapism.
No one cares bro. YT has a ton of movies for free, currently watching Survivor with Pierce Brosnan and that without counting all channels with free movies + Tubi

My bad
people only want capeslop
Not true at all, audiences are growing weary of capeslop. Spider-Man and Batman will always make money but no one gives a frick about hero-of-the-week Marvel slop anymore. literal infantile dogshit

nice bait
oppenheimer made almost a billion dollars
People love thier nolanslop, basically glorified capeslop.
>people only want capeslop
The Martian, Life of Pi, and other big movies made financial success in recent years
maybe no one like Snoreshitty movies
>people only want capeslop
This has a $200MILLION(!) budget.
That's ridiculous and will be guaranteed to lose $.

Wasn't The Irishman just like his old stuff?
There are exceptions to every rule, as they say. I'm sure you get their point.
The received wisdom among Hollywood is probably itself moronic, since they can't even figure out how to sell movies to plebs
He got outside funding. Passion project
Someone said only tarantino and nolan can do what they want.
>Someone said only tarantino and nolan can do what they want.
They make money, simple as. Tarantino's only major misstep was Death Proof.

Student film tier.
Killers of the Flower moon is exactly like his old movies. It's pretty much reskinned Goodfellas until the FBI shows up.
He could've easily made a genre detective film (which was the original plan) that would've been a Scorsese film. Instead he made a tragedy and morons call him a sellout.
he could've kept the mystery element by not showing us Leo poisoning Mollie, or signing his rights to King, and keeping it as a final reveal.
It's not even a tragedy. It's all obvious, 1-dimensional shite with wooden actors. I didn't even feel the pain of the Indian women, as she just held the same look and said the same shite in every scene.
Which new movies are comparable to The Irishman or The Flowers of Killer Moon? What makes those "same tripe"?

It's not hypocrisy - for any problem leftism creates the answer is always more leftism.
she wants Marvel movie audience demographics for each movie released even from Wes Anderson stuff.
She’s horrible. I remember her saying that Top Gun Maverick wouldn’t do well because the audience was too white. What an idiot.

it's completely coherent. She hates whites

I'm going to watch it tonight so it'll be 44.000.014,50 instead
go woke go broke
No Hunter Schafer or Hari Nef, no watch :3
that's one of the best box-office for a Scorsese movie, only behind Wolf of Wall Street
Better question, who is the target audience for this movie?
White Americans with White Guilt
The same people who went to dances with wolves.
I find it funny that my cookie cutter liberal friend went to go see this shit by himself because "muh demon whyte man", was probably the only nig in the entire showing.
The type of people who take Redlettermedia's opinions seriously

Mexicans don't care about Indians

Indians don't care about other types of Indians
No one cares about fricking Indians, they were wiped out in the days of our great x5 grandparents and what's left are greedy, incestuous, parasites. To sell their plight now is like trying to make the rest of the world give a frick about israelites dying in Israel
lmao @ /misc/tards sucking the wiener of big oil
The movie isn't about big oil, lorelet.
>Film about oil
>Oil not even mentioned after the first scene
Garbage.
The scene with Brendan Fraser intimidating Leo in the village meet specifically has the oil lobby come there to have him not betray the white cause.
The moment Brendan Fraser appeared the movie turned into a comedy
the whole kinoplex laughed everytime he appeared
Why would this garbage cost 200 mil? They’re just shooting in old shithole towns, you best be joking homie
Probably because it has two big name actors and the mob uses it for money laundering
Leo's fee was 30 mil of that
Best movie of the year
>da big oil is the reason why I'm unemployed NEET who's late on rent
My homosexual friend actually believes this sadly enough. L
Antiwhite shit
the bad guy is israeli actually
This, "vilification" of the chosen people must end. They are persecuted people wrongly accused of crimes out of spite of their superior success in business and in all fields of academia.
>2023
>white man bad
Marty can't read the room.
What’s there to say? Between the length and the uncomfortable subject matter, the thing was never going to be a crowd pleaser.
Anon, it's a 3.5 hour long slow drama.
The highest grossing Martin Scorsese movie is Wolf of Wall Street at $390M. Marty is not a blockbuster director.
Adjusted for inflation, Cape Fear is his highest-grossing movie.
Adjusted for what inflation? Inflation is calculated different every year and really not an accurate measure of anything at all
>Inflation doesn't make a difference! Bidenomics is working! Eat the bugs and own nothing, goy!
You are a fricking imbecile.
money is literally imaginary you dumb baboon
nothing matters
>fricking moron can't grasp the most basic concepts of monetary theory
>"It'S mAdE uP"
>source: My c**t
words are a combination of meaningless sounds
, prove me wrong
All the Disney live action films flopped. Don't know why live action Pocahontas starring fat geriatrics would do any better.
Cinderella with all white people made half a billion.
I hate injuns with a passion. I lost all respect for Scorsese for working with those filthy, stinking, no-good, mouthwash-drinking injuns.
Never underestimate Taylor Swift
who is seeing Barbie or Oppenheimer now? either you were interested and saw it immediately, or you don’t care and are never going to watch it
I mean 700 dollars per screen is like 50 tickets per theater.
honestly this, girls don't want to watch 3.5 hours of brooding '20s crime drama, but they will drag their bfs to 3 hours of Taylor swift and the bfs much prefer it to spending $1000 on Taylor swift concert tickets
I kneel….
This. My theater's showing of flower moon was disturbed by CONSTANT base drumming from the fricking Taylor Swift movie playing next door. the theater was packed too
Saw it yesterday and hated it, I had to fight the urge to walk out. They tell you the plot about half an hour in and the following 3 hours you watch it slowly unfold.
>do you know who lives there?
>the flower moon lives there
>and i'm gonna kill it
bravo scorcese
Cinema is dead is what happened. The only thing that makes money these days is literal baby shit.
make cheaper budget movies, lmao.
what are these studios too good to make "B-Movies" now, huh, oh no our $200 million film couldn't make back the money, it was so great and important, boo-hoo
KOTFM was financed by Apple and originally was meant to only get a limited theater run. They never made this with profit in mind.
then all this b***hing about the profits of the film isn't important so why is everyone and their mum talking about it
The discourse is from chuds who think if the cast of a movie isn't 100% white it's white genocide, and also Marvel fans who hate Scorsese for trashing the MCU
that's not the discourse, this is the discourse
this film is a film about american injuns for american injuns but they didn't show up and watch said film only hipsters did
>Injuns didn't show up to watch the film
I doubt every Indian in America going to watch it would be $20m.
itd be 40-60m assuming $20 tickets
Why are you throwing an incel tantrum?
>"discourse"
shut the frick up homosexual
This. Anyone who uses words like “discourse” is a feminine low IQ gay 100% of the time
The studios have to keep up with disney mate. Smaller budget films will just go to streaming
at that point they might as well just burn the money at least it'd make a nice bonfire, Oppenheimer will make a $billion dollars selling merchendise and rights AFTER the almost $billion at the boxoffice.
if all decently budgeted films go directly to streaming purgatory there is literally no money earned, zero, Hollywood is going to commit seppuku
Why is the Super Mario movie dead?
I wonder if Avatar 2 would have been that high if it wasn't for the IMAX 3D immersive experience at 35$ a ticket
>3.5 hours
Should have been straight to Netflix like Irishman.
They want to be eligible for awards, thats it. Netflix did it with marriage story
but marriage story was actually good and i would watch that again
> marriage story was actually good
This is quite possibly the most boring movie of all time.
I cannot remember watching another movie that was THIS boring.
Scorsese made tons of commercial flops in his career. He's never been Spielberg.
Who the frick is Armie Hammer? And I saw this movie in the theater.
>Armie Hammer
is he the guy that said he wanted to rape and eat someone?
dances with wolves was a big hit though
>most people don't find natives all that cool
And yet back when people were "racist" they couldn't get enough Indians, they named their football teams and helicopters and children after them and watched them at the movies every week
yup, Turok sold like hotcakes
Natives ruined all that by b***hing about every single thing they were in. They wanted all the teams to remove them as mascots. They got mad at every film that had them. They hated every book about them. So now people are just fed up with them.
Like if you are a white guilt liberal, why would you go see this movie knowing that Chief Whisky River and Chief Meth Moon are probably just going to condemn the film as racist anyway.
>Chief Whisky River and Chief Meth Moon
lol good shit
90% of the time it was white people who were like 1/16th Cherokee that b***hed about it. Indians never really cared. Same thing that happened with Mexicans and Speedy Gonzalez. Mexicans fricking loved that little dude and white people ruined it for them.
real natives on rez shitholes in Montana and the Dakotas got bigger things to worry about
Yeah like the rampant incest.
Elvis Presleys "Flaming Star" where he played a half-breed. according to wikipedia
>Budget$ 1.7 million
>Box office $2 million
a better success than Killers of a flower moon, also Chuck Norris kick-ass direct to video "Forest Warrior (1996)" which he wrote and directed
and Steven Seagals "On Deadly Ground" where he plays a native american. single handely destroying a greedy oil company
>Budget $50 million
>Box office $78.1 million
Case in point:
>make actual artistic movies
>simply the fact that most people don't find natives all that cool that they'd wanna hear about them for 3 hours straight
This is something we learned since fricking 4th grade, I dont need this shit in my free adult time.
what they don't teach you is that the most violent tribes were famous for murder-rapes
And cannibalism
lol, northern plains tribes did cannibalism
apaches and commanche were narco cartel members with arrows
Well of course, why the frick would schools ever paint injuns, nigs, spics, and asiatics in a negative light? For the longest time I felt bad for the Japanese because of Hiroshima, then you find out what these bug men really got up to and suddenly you don't feel an ounce of remorse.
>discomfort
they actually just all look like homosexuals in their outfits so i never cared for them much. i thought of them as gay in the same way that i find the rebellion in star wars fricking gay and always rooted for empire
GO WOKE GO BROKE
This movie is Woke and Anti-White.
you can be anti-white and not suck
you can be full-blown commie and not suck.
this movie is just, dull, and preachy i can forgive a lot of things but never a boring film
Hugely disappointing. The trailer made it look like a 20s gangster flick kino.
I was very interested in learning about the Osage and their world. Why the frick did they focus on Di Caprio for 3 hours?!
Also, seeing the '''mystery''' unfold through the eyes of the FBI is obviously the way to approach this.
Nolan should've taken this. Scorsesse is washed. There's not 1 memorable scene here.
>Also, seeing the '''mystery''' unfold through the eyes of the FBI is obviously the way to approach this.
boring toddler taste
>Prefers watching Di Caprio act like a moron with marbles in his mouth for 3 hours
Would rather see the world from the locals' view. It's a very interesting time period.
>Bring the theatre shit to the front
>Have a detective get off the train in a misty noir-ish way
>Experience the wild parties of the Osage, and see the debauchery and alcoholism in play
>Build a whodunnit mystery which saps the fun out of the town and gives it a bitter edge
>Turns out everybody is the killer
>Have some mystical elements with Osage beliefs fighting secret societies in the background
Nolan would've smashed it.
again, boring fricking toddler taste. how many movies are exactly the same as that? 50? 100? get real.
I don't give a frick about that wop boomer im just telling you that you're gay and your taste is shit
>You barely got to see any of the natives
every second character is a fricking native
>learn about the oil trade
not relevant
>see the wealth
literally showed all the women with fancy clothes and all the young natives at all white private schools with fancy cars and servants
>Also, it's impossible to know how much time passes in the movie, kek.
Maybe if you have brain damage
Holy frick you’re moronic, that’s the entire point of the film. Leo b***hed and got it changed which is why you have the boring slop you have now
Scorsese movies aren't good anymore because you used to be able to self-insert and have a good time. Casino. Wolf of Wall Street. Taxi Driver. The Departed. Goodfellas. You wanted to have their life, to be that guy, to have their woman. Now it's just old depressing boomers. No one wants to be that.
What a dogshit take
Cope and seethe boys
>Taxi Driver
>You wanted to have their life, to be that guy, to have their woman
Movies you haven't seen for 500, Alex
Silence (2016) isn't something i would wish upon even my worst enemy yet it's an amazing, yet depressing film, but not boring
I think Silence and KotFM both suffer from the narrative feeling like its on rails with barely any suprises. Silence has that one Japanese fisher betray them I think five times? Both build towards an epic finale and never really deliver.
After Hours and Raging Bull are his best films and no one wants to be those guys.
>self-insert
>casino
for a cuck like you maybe
>You wanted to have their life
Bad choice of words, but I get what you mean: their stories were exciting in a way or the other despite many of them being miserable, they weren't all dramatic frowns and sad old fricks, there was cool shit happening in them. Like the Scorsese cameo
, that character goes insane and goes through some shit that'd make any guy mad, but it's so entertaining to watch, even though you know what he's enduring is horrible. It isn't so much self inserting as it is empathisying with these troubled individuals' worries, basically imagining if your life was as shit as theirs. It really makes you appreciate your own life more to see it's not that bad, or if it IS as bad as theirs THEN you can truly self insert. Either way I think I get you anon
>zoomer tries to be deep
>leftoid false flagging
>This movie has an all star cast
no it doesn't. it has 2 stars in it. 'all star' means every one of the cast is a star.
smash mouth disagrees
>What went wrong? This movie has an all star cast
it's a white guilt movie
Spartacus and casino are pretty much the only movies past 2 hours worth watching
people kept walking in and out to go piss
are people's bladders really this weak?
no they just knew they wouldnt miss anything important
>you have to watch this giant face for 3 hours
Lol no. At least cast a cute like prey babe
1. US theatre going is dead
2. only americans give a shit about scorsese
3. its a fricking 3 hour moronic forensic files dramatizaion that portrays the victims in a shittier light than some learniing disablity who was murdered for insurance
>4. an even more shitty white guilt after school special tier non-ending after this homosexual had 3 and a half hour to tell the story
I felt a twinge of antisemitism coming from this movie. They made it look like there was an agenda to take wealth from the natives.
this is a picture of William hale
I'll let you form your own opinion
They mentioned the villaim being israeli several times quite boldly. For that bravery alone, I'd say it's 4/5 stars
Gives women the ick
Men don't care about women problems
di caprio is such a shit actor i cant believe it and deniro basically became harrison ford
>He's going to hit the wall fast
He hit that wall and then some about a decade ago now.
What about this movie could have cost $200 million to make?
probably everyone asked for up-front fees instead of a % of box office or participation in streaming sales (because they knew there wouldn't be any lol)
Nolan wasn't too happy about it and WB probably picked the date as classic counter-programming and a little bit to spite Nolan.
In the end it worked out for him, I mean Oppenheimer was never going to flop, obviously, but the whole Barbenheimer was a blessing in disguise
plus he took IMAX screenings away from Mission Impossible
"white people bad cause they did what everyone else was also doing" nr 30245
lol even lmao frick this trash
>everyone was murdering people for inheritance in 1920
are you really pretending this is a uniquely white thing, are you insane?
1. no
2. it was a israelite orchestrating it
>Film wants me dead
>It dies instead
nmfp
>Hale mentions how the murders will be forgotten and swept under the rug because people would rather not think about them
>exactly that happens
Are you dense?
Are people supposed to dwell on some small town shit 100 years latter gay? What point are you trying to make?
Do you have the memory of a goldfish? Point was that the meme which was posted didn't even make sense.
That all star cast is currently not allowed to promote the movie,
What happened to 90 min movie? Why the frick is a drama 3 hours long, these things used to be 100min the most. Citizen Kane was under 2 hours.
It's a serious male interest movie. So, DOA.
Why does this board only care about box office performance as a marker of a film's quality?
Movie came out 3 days ago.
Right image is assuming the person that wrote it had a clear definition for it. They could’ve done it precisely out of ambiguity.
If the OP did it out of ambiguity, then the true is that its either 6 or 9, depending on your POV. And therefore both opionions on the both are true at the same time.
The person who drew that intended for it to be ambiguous.
It's a streaming movie, they are releasing in theaters because of the awards.
Name 3 (THREE) of his movies that are good and not about
>the mob
>italians
>new york
pro tip: you can’t
Silence, The Last Temptation of Christ and Kundun
How does Kundun stack up to the other two? Loved Last Temptation but thought Silence was just OK.
the last temptation of christ
kundun
silence
silence sucks ass and so does the irishman
Maybe people don't want to see a movie about an incident that makes mainstream America seem evil?
>Some ugly Bangttingh'oh (the Native word for the sound an empty beer can makes when it hits a Native woman that ends up murdered by her fellow natives but whitey will still be blamed) and her partner blame whitey for being bad, getting oil, developing land, or some other shit literally who gives a frick this movie look like white guilt trash why the hell would anyone want to see it
I do not give a frick about indians. I do not give a frick period movies. I would not watch this if it won 10 oscars
/thread
movie stars don't matter anymore, Leo better find a super hero to play.
It looks like shit?
Fricking lowbudget ass filters tells me it's a scam no way it costed 200 million.
really nobody cares about indians. if he wanted to make a frick white ppl movie he should have made one about nigs
A better question is why a movie like this has a budget that high. It's a niche concept that no one should've expected to recoup that amount of money.
Killers of the Flower Moon did not have a billion dollar marketing gimmick like barbenheimer
Oppenheimer rode Barbie's coattails
Irrelevant
It still made 900 million dollars
more than anything scorsese has made.
Other than the Prestige, people won't remember Nolan
Scorsissy meanwhile will rest with the greats like Kubrick and Hitchwiener
>Other than the Prestige, people won't remember Nolan
the cope is real innit
obvious bait
>rotten tomatoes
I dont watch 3 hours movies in movie theaters.
Unless i know it will be an amazing movie
i just wear adult diapers when i have to watch some longkino
The real reason is no one has a GF anymore
Men aren’t going to the movies alone
>no one has a GF anymore
I do
GTFO normalgay scum.
I forced my gf to go watch it with me even though she really wanted to see Saw, and she enjoyed it more than I did
People keep posting: Hurr durr it's a woke movie, but i saw it and here are some facts:
>there is complete honesty about race mixing
>what i mean about this: the women are admonished and the reality of the race disappearing is said in the movie
>no other movie has ever been this honest about race mixing
>the evil white protagonist are israeli freemasons
>Killers of the flower moon
>Extremely loud and incredibly close
>Licorice Pizza
>The murder of the hero Jesse James by the coward whoever the frick
>What went wrong?
Not enough sex with indian maidens
Way too long
Way too predictable in terms of the narrative
This looks like a 3.5hr documentary, who would pay to see this?
Automatic bomb
Just watched
It's a good movie in all sense
As usual Cinemaphile is wrong
I saw the movie on a streaming site, look at the synopsis, lol, close the tab.
Watched this film recently. Good set design but the plot was weak.
Deus ex machine when the feebs turn up and just figure everything out based on witneses never previously mentioned
The woman knows she's being poisoned presumably from the hospital but despite the 3hr run time they couldn't show this
They can't figure out how to finish the film so switch to narration
>Deus ex machine when the feebs turn up and just figure everything out based on witneses never previously mentioned
The woman knows she's being poisoned presumably from the hospital but despite the 3hr run time they couldn't show this
They can't figure out how to finish the film so switch to narration
irrelevant
It's all relevant martin. The plot was weak. No twists or character development.
>No twists or character development.
are you fricking kidding me?
How the frick should anybody know why?
>and? what are you trying to say?
That's the film. No interesting plot
They could write them having some kind of chemistry. Some kind of reason to get together. Instead DiCap is literally moronic.
?si=fgnasa1YgLN8Ybpm
?si=3Vh6XhqIMzyIuFFr
>Instead DiCap is literally moronic.
that's the frickin point homie thats why the plot works homie
>that’s the entire point of the film
well clearly it isn't kek
>Leo b***hed and got it changed which is why you have the boring slop you have now
cool, go shift into a universe where that's the movie that was made and go talk about it there
>why is that girl supposed to fall for him
He's DiCaprio, that's why.
>Good set design
I'm obsessed with the time period so it was three and a half hours well spent.
Leo ruined the film, I’m not kidding. I say this as a big fan of his acting, he and DeNiro were the worst parts of this movie.
He fricked with the script and made it about him, we got boring predictable slop because of him
I thought De niro was pretty good
How can a historical film not be predictable?
By sticking to the book it’s based on, the original script
Scorsissy made it about Leo
>You like women? yes?
>Are you the marriage type of guy?
he was throwing shade at him and calling him a homo
The author of the book the film is based on is also ~~*one of them*~~, and a journalist to boot.
>white people are le bad cruel and mean for no reason
>Natives are le blameless perfect victims
Woke is woke
I think most people literally don't care about native Americans. It's so fricking funny how low they are on the social justice totem pole (haha)
They're not big enough to be a voter block worth pandering too.
*pandering to
Does he really use Gimme Shelter again?
Most of the Indians being >50% white with zero accents ruined it for me
they look 90% injun with the exception of the lead actress
>Cinemaphile is upset that the anti-white blood libel movie is a bomb
pooskin board
That sounds really solid for an R rated movie of that length but $200m is a lot for a western.
>The Wolf of Wall Street
>Silence
>The Irishman
Scorsese doesn't know how to make movies anymore.
the irishman was bad tho
Al Pacino's character should had been the true protagonist
>the irishman was bad tho
That's the implication
i thought you were being sarcastic
Silence perhaps but Wolf of Wallstreet was amazing
the midget scene alone
