>Many generations after the passing of Caesar, ape societies thrive among the remnants of what was once human civilization. The only humans left are nothing more than rudimentary pests, feral and rarely seen. Meanwhile, apes are entering their Bronze Age, and different ape cultures are beginning to emerge. While some ape societies have never even heard of Caesar, others have completely perverted his teachings for their own gain.
>PROXIMUS CAESAR, a powerful Ape leader, is at the verge of a breakthrough for his blossoming kingdom – he has discovered the last vestiges of human technology sealed away beneath the earth and requires many apes to excavate its treasures. Proximus sends a team of marauders on a mission to bring him the ape-power needed to make his ambitions a reality. NOA (Owen Teague), a young ape from the idyllic and peaceful Eagle Clan, watches as his village is destroyed and his people taken by these marauders.
>Noa then embarks on a perilous journey to liberate his people, and along the way teams up with wise orangutan RAKA (Peter Macon) and mysterious human MAE (Freya Allen), who may not be who she seems. While Noa will expand his worldview and embark on self-discovery of his own, he could never predict what Mae is capable of: She has a goal of her own stop Proximus at all costs and do whatever it takes to keep the human species going and perhaps plant the seeds for the return of human dominance.

"we're giggling we're going to see planet of the apes, WE WALK IN TO PLANET OF THE APES, we're in africa dude" - joe rogan on seeing the movie in a black neighborhood
So how will they make this about trannies and WHITE MAN BAD?
It clearly has WHITE WOMEN SLAY with the character of Mae.
>mysterious human MAE (Freya Allen), who may not be who she seems.
Is she going to be the adult version of the little girl from War?
What part of many generations later did you not get
So she is the child version of the adult?
Chimps have a shorter lifespan. And "many" could be 2 or more
>And "many" could be 2
>tfw the little girl grows up to be a breeding slave to Taylor
Great scott
no, I think it means the character is going to come out as trans/non-binary. Fortunately, ape society is actually super trans-positive.
>PROXIMUS CAESAR
That name is kino.
How did the apes learn latin?
SHEEEIIIIIIIITTTTT DATS WILD homie
Who will play Taylor when they inevitably remake the original film?
Joe Rogan
Black.
Idris Elba
>Who will play Taylor when they inevitably remake the original film?
The reboot trilogy and this new set of films take place in the original timeline that eventually lead to the first film with Charlton Heston. You have to understand that Planet of the Apes is also about time travel. If it were remade then the following actors would be appropriate.
>Christian Bale
>Chris Hemsworth
>Jensen Ackles
>Alan Ritchson
>Joel Kinnaman
Ackles would be pretty good.
>Ackles would be pretty good.
Exactly. I put Ackles in the list because he reminds me of Ben Browder on Farscape. A show that had shades of Apes.
Just because you're a fricking gay
No way it takes place in the same timeline. The new movies conflict with pre-established lore (Escape/Conquest depict the uplifting and uprising of the intelligent apes quite differently to these new films.)
>The new movies conflict with pre-established lore (Escape/Conquest depict the uplifting and uprising of the intelligent apes quite differently to these new films.)
No. Escape/Conquest/Battle is the altered timeline. The reboot films show how the world originally developed to the state it's in when Taylor appears.
But didn't Taylor come from the 1960s? in the reboot the astronauts left earth whenever the first one takes place, around 2010ish.
im pretty sure the astronauts in the original werent from the 60s
Doesn’t the first movie reference Taylor’s spaceship being “lost in space?”
Deep fake Charlton Heston, anything else would be homosexualry
lizzo
Wait so they're FINALLY making a real Planet of the Apes remake? Took them long enough.
I skipped most of the nu-apes but I'll tune in for this.
not really. the point of the first movie was a different planet that turned out to be Earth. This is a different premise but then I guess you cant play that shock value anyway since its widely known
apes together strong

Now that humanity has fallen and is no longer around as a mirror to the apes I kind of feel like this series' premise is exhausted. Now it's just monkey adventure movies, which is fine I guess, but at this point they've fully replaced humans and the central conflict of the franchise has been resolved. Having a single semi-sentient human around doesn't really fill that void. Might as well make the exact same film except with an all-human cast and it'd be just like any other post-apoc movie.
>Might as well make the exact same film except with an all-human cast and it'd be just like any other post-apoc movie.
But this one has monkeys.
When you're right you're right.
I only like the first one with Franco. The rest were shit.
2's the best one. Big power gap between the first two movies and 3.
3 was mismarketed. I get that they wanted an epic sounding word like "war" in the title for their final movie, but realistically it should've been called "prison of the planet of the apes" or something, and they never should've had those posters that made it seem like there was going to be a huge war. Overall the 3rd one was kinda boring. They really peaked with Koba as the villain
these movies are so predictable and painfully slow
How did humans become feral?
In the third film, some kind of virus spreads and gives them brain damage
>NOA (Owen Teague), a young ape from the idyllic and peaceful Eagle Clan, watches as his village is destroyed and his people taken by these marauders.
Apocalypto if they monke
I loved the og planet of the apes and have not watched any of the new ones am I missing out?.
They are far better than they have any right to be. I didn't watch them for years because, how could they possibly not be soulless cash-grab reboot trash? Somehow, the first two are legitimately good movies. The third, as has been mentioned, is not quite on the same level. The movies are carried by Andy Serkis who absolutely crushes the role of Caesar (not the same one as the original film, of course). They exist somewhere between popcorn action/adventure and thoughtful sci-fi.
I just assumed they were trash I will give them a go.
Not one of the other two anons but they are pretty good movies. They were actually above the slop that was being dished into around the same time.
Give them a watch. I was pleasantly surprised by them.
I only watched the first one but it was really good. Caesar was a cool lead and I liked how he was with Will and his family. It was very wholesome.
Yes, they try hard to be real cinema. Whether they hit that mark is up to the viewer, but it's nice to see at least a few movies that still put in an effort.
OH FRICK YEAH APE KINO IS BACK ON THE MENU
YES
t. Read the book, own the original box set, read the comics, appreciated the Burton, and Loved the newest trilogy
I only watched the first 2. I thought 2 was surprisingly good. The central monke Ceasar unironically has one of the best on screen character developments in recent memory. The villan Koba was kino
They really are good, and it has some of the best cgi use ive seen to this day
if they don't make grounds to show that there's some sort of physical changes happening (as in the process of them turning into the man-monkeys like in the originals) and most of them are still just hooting, sign language using chimps then i'll probably skip this one
It's many generations later so they'll definitely progress it some. The last trilogy took place within a relatively short timespan.
I'm actually really looking forward to this one
>mysterious human MAE (Freya Allen), who may not be who she seems
She will be able to speak and is part of the emerging underground faction of humans.
i would love to see a remake of beneath the planet of the apes.
They already made one of those.
let me guess, last shot is a space shuttle crashing into the ocean and everyone claps because i remember the thing
they already did that in the first movie
Last thing I remember from the first movie is the pilot guy infecting everyone. What did I miss?
there's a brief report on the television about the successful launch of Project Icarus
Must've missed that, ty anon
I kind of liked how they left it alone for a while as a standalone prequel trilogy but I guess the movies were decent enough to say frick it and warrant going all the way
>ripping off Ladyhawke imagery but with le epig video game cg tier background art
Is the viewer supposed to side with the apes ?
>kingdom of the planet of the
Just call it Kingdom of the Apes ffs.
KINGDOM OF THE RISE OF THE WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
>Part III: The Apening
Ohmagod its really APENING
>there's a man at the statue on the beach in the kingdom of the planet of the apes
There's a chimp on the man at the statue on the beach
Can't be worse than War at least.
These are absolute low iq movies
Dawn was absolute kino. Will approach the new film with cautious optimism.
>Bronze Age
So the Apes will have sufficiently advanced trade networks that allow for this right? Because you don't have Bronze tech without very very effective trading networks because of the duel material requirments.
Iron's real revolution was allowing for isolationism.
What is Proximo Caesar's tax policy?
>Iron's real revolution was allowing for isolationism.
Until the israelites came
>Meanwhile, apes are entering their Bronze Age, and different ape cultures are beginning to emerge.
Reminder that apes recently reached the Stone Age
When we take to the stars it shall not be alone. Our orangutan frens will be beside us.
And together, we will fricking confuse the hell out of the ayys by calling each other brother and get a good laugh out of it.
dude, you don't even know. Its aliens who could be confusing us. What if they have like sentient bacteria living in their stomach and they talk to it? You can expect extreme cases of weird from aliens, we can't even compare.
So we'd be confused as frick together. You think sentient bacteria is gonna know what the frick a chimp is?
It'll be a good bonding experience for first contact.
or they start infecting our bodies with it and they find that our brains is the perfect place to replicate, causing extreme pain and death to a human, and allowing them to use humans as the breeding ground
or they look like demons and our religious groups start saying that aliens are creation of Lucifer. Or we look like demons from their religion. Or our mouths look like their asses and they constantly mock us, because we look like talking buttholes to aliens and they invite humans only like circus animals to show their own kind what a bunch of weirdos populate the galaxy. or aliens start exterminating our culture, thinking their culture is superior and connect us to their intergalactic internet that has like 1 GAZILION PETABITES OF DATA, and compared to that the ammount of all data in Earth Internet is like 0.00000000000000000000000001% of that. Meaning Earth culture feels and becomes so insignifican and dilluted, we basically start just consuming alien culture all day long, using their scientific achievments, until everyone forgets about human language and what made humans unique.
Damn dude. Way to be a pessimist.
This is the future SETI freaks want, they want to become the weakest subject in relations between 2 civilisations. We won't be the strong side, we will be the weak side and that means that aliens will establish the rules of communication, conditions and penalties, and humans will be at their mercy, this won't be a communication of equals.
It's already happening, they were here before us.
The US establishment sold us all out to them.
NATO kindly cleans up any evidence of crimes committed by non-humans too.
Humans are little more than cattle to these beings.
Nah, NATO and US are fricking monkeys, i don't believe they can hide something like that. i know a little more about how they manage their security and recruitng process. its a mess with many holes, never seen any aliens in there and shit like aliens is impossible to contain
Is this series going to culminate in another remake of the original Planet of the Apes?
No, it just leads up to Burton's film.
Would trees really grow in buildings like that? There's no soul.
Soil
This is the most creative thing Hollywood can come up with. Another monkey fighting poeple movie
Monkebros we're eating well
APE NOT KILL APE
I liked the first two movies but the third one sucked
are these flicks gonna tie into the original one with the space crew landing and the 'you maniacs'' scene
Mae and I have the same goal
IF WE ONLY GOT THIS TIME
wtf is that real
Girl is temporary
Monke is forever
>directed by Wes Ball, the director behind the Maze Runner trilogy
it's going to suck ass. why couldn't they get Matt Reeves to come back?
he's the Batman guy now right?
yes, but he directed Dawn and War. you'd think they'd be able to get him back, but I guess not. we'll see if this Maze Runner hack can actually pull this off, but I'm not optimistic
>ape kino with my waifu on the menu
The hype train have left the station.
DOCTOR ZAIUS DOCTOR ZAIUS
I CAN SIIIIIIIIIING
This franchise makes no sense. How do human job to fricking apes/monkeys?
do you honestly think you stand a chance against a hand to hand fight with a chimp?
Besides that there was a virus that wiped out most of humanity while the super intelligent apes made use of weapons and disabled security. No one was going to be able to keep the electricity going
