>Almost done downloading last episode of Spartacus
>Mom says she doesn't want me watching that show
>Says it's not accurate
>Says Rome was good, and the slaves were violent animals
>I tell her that words fall from mouth like shit from ass
>I set upon her with a gladius I made from toilet paper rolls and dragon dildos
>Dad runs upstairs to see what the fuss is about
>Tell him his prostitute wife stands fricking Roman
>He stands Roman as well
>My two cats (named Ashur and Andy after the honored dead) set upon him like drunks to wine
>We fight them off and hold the top of the stairs
I have barricaded the upper floor, and liberated the neighbors wireless after they cut my connection but we run low on boxed wine and hot pockets. I stand with choice, go out the window and set upon the Roman shits who loiter in house like fleas on dog, or lead my cats in bold attempt to raid the neighbors fridge (and frick their daughters with my raging wiener). Tell me brothers,
what is the best course of action that leads to swift death Roman scum, and quick return to watch episode 10 of based Spartacus?
T-Ted?
Very good pasta.
Isn't his character dead?
That guy is like Sean Bean; cursed to die in every project he's in. He went out like a boss in The Expanse, though.
No ones ever really gone
Head graphically hacked off by the brown chick iirc.
According to the article this is an alternate history where he didn’t die and was also a really good gladiator
>and was also a really good gladiator
Why even change that? Why change anything? Literally, the only change they would have to make is Ashur peacing out before going up the mountain.
This. Absolute minimum effect on anything, He doesnt kill anyone while up there, just annoys them and gets killed. It wont change what happens to the rebels in any way if he never arrives.
I can't remember Gods of the Arena but was it ever explicitly said he was bad? I was under the impression he got screwed by Crixus
It's never stated he was bad but not exceptional either, he was clearly good enough to beatdown random bandits and redshirts.
My point was more the way it's written they literally only have to change him not going to the mountain after Glabber tells him too and it would change nothing.
Glabber, Lucretia and Xena die almost immediately after this and the slaves frick off forever, it would have absolutely no impact on the existing story that way.
Ashur was already a good gladiator in the original show. He wasn't as good as Crixus or the other top tier gladiators but he proved he was pretty when he soloed Glabers men.
That's the impression I got from rewatching season 1.
No arguments I just couldn't remember GotA and thought maybe Ashur overstated what happened with Crixus. I can't even remember if they cover that part in it. What you are saying seems to make sense.
S1 he hints his leg injury is due to Circus. He certainly does shady shit in Gods, he set up his Syrian friend to get assfricked.
>he set up his Syrian friend to get assfricked.
He was a dick and was talking shit. Ashur merely replied in kind.
Well if it is changed so thatt he retires and purchases/wins his freedom, it would make a bit more sense with him then actually opening his own ludus. If he just bailed that would be kind of difficult
>Literally, the only change they would have to make is Ashur peacing out before going up the mountain
But that wouldn't make sense of how he gets possession of the ludus. He can't just stroll in and become the new Dominus, Glaber has to give it to him and Glaber said he would only give it to him if he went up the mountain
>Ashur retrieves Glabber's seal off his body post glabbering and forges the document
>Glabber signs the documents to wave them in front of his nose before forcing him up and he retrieves them later
>He lies and no one is left alive to countermand him
None of these are difficult to pull off or even that uncommon in ancient rome irl.
The ending of Spartacus was originally going to be a joke and aliens were going to show up on the battlefield, abduct Spartacus, and the show was going to become a space based sci-fi series similar to the Spartacus series. I'm not joking in the slightest about this. In other words, the creators of this show know how to have fun with their ideas and you could easily have some mystical tongue in cheek shit cause Ashur's head to be re-attached or if they don't want to do that, just have him walking up the mountain and he has an epiphany and decides against it and we end up in an alternate timeline since Ashur dying there really has no major significance to the plot.
I stopped watching after they changed actors for Spartacus. Didn't quite feel as fun.
Hopefully they will bring back chad solonius as well
Will be gay and woke, zero hype.
did you not watch the show?
It was always gay
I don’t mean homosexual gay, I mean please-don’t-offend-my-liberal-indoctrinated-sensitivities gay
>It was always gay
Manly gay is different than modern gay. Why you homosexuals gaslight.
Asher? once again the gods caress my cheek only to finger my ass
Anyone else feel they were overly mean to Ashur and treated him worse than he deserved?
Yeah but I think that was intentional. He was kinda of a dick in God's of the Arena but he seemed to be genuinely trying to befriend the other gladiators and then shat on him.
They did this to everyone though. They only cared if you could fight. Remember they all laughed at the fat shit who got killed by accident in training.
personally i blame crixus the "undefeated" gaul for the bullying
He could fight though, and he did earn his place. Then when he does everything Batiatus asks of him, and is rewarded with the mark, they shit on him even harder because he didn't go through the test, which wasn't his fault. They deserved Ashur's vengeance.
Yes. He was based and always trying to be helpful/useful. He never wronged anyone who didn't wrong him first. And it was like no matter how much good he did, the others would still hate him, and especially hate him when Batiatus rewarded him
Fricking Ashur
BUT IS SOLONIUS CONFIRMED!?
AND WHAT OF GOOD SOLONIOUS???
based. spartacus went to shit fast when ashur got offed
He lasted a lot longer than I expected tbh. 3 seasons of being the most hatewatched character is no small feat.
>show is about Ashur after spartacus died
>no conceivable way to fit bringing Batiatus and Lucretia back into the alt timeline but they are fan favorites
>DeKnight decides to bring them back as Ashur's schizo delusions
>every episode as Batiatus and Lucretia as ghosts talking shit to Ashur, bantering, and just fricking each other (and ghost slaves) in the background
>Ashur is trying to have an important meeting with potential investors.
>Ghost Lucrecia pops up and starts waving her breasts at him.
how terrible ha ha
Ilithyia is somehow hotter clothes than naked. Either state is amazing tho
uhm wasnt he slain by a strong black female gladiator?
And what of Good Solonius?
Forever kneeling in the shit of his betters.
i will get this haircut someday
You shall be but poor imitation.
ive been solonius maxxing the past few months, soon i will find eternal happiness
It was interesting how they went from bros to mortal enemies. Pretty sad.
Frick Ashur series, give me Solonius
Ok, how would it work?
alternate timeline where solonius defeated spartacus and became champion of capua
"The gods play us all for fools, but, what if one day they felt like playing the fool themselves, what if, a slight twist of fate, changed things entirely?"
WHAT ACTRESSES DO YOU MOST WANT TO SEE CAST & GET NAKED???

> Gina Carano

> Alice Eve
> Betty Gilpin
BLOOD RAINS DOWN FROM AN ANGRY SKY

MY wiener RAGES ON
>The mighty Caesar taken like a woman!
Seriously WTF Was His Problem?
Inferior son, man and soldier.
Cesar was everything he wasn't and it drove him insane.
But why did he rape his teacher? On a related note the casting director for Spartacus was amazing. Almost every female in the show was gorgeous (except nu-Naevia)
He wanted to get back at his dad for making him kill his bf.
>except nu-Naevia
Why the hell did they recast Naevia again? The original actress was much better
When Andy died the delay in filming caused her to have to back out I guess.
Maybe she didn't want to be typecast as a rape slave in big tiddy, oiled-up violence mummy porn show?
Ironically it seemed that og Naevia was kind of a c**t and nu-Naevia was more liked by thr cast.
the original naevia was batshit crazy and everyone hated her
Yeah this
Apparently og naevia was an entitled b***h to everyone on set.
Crassus and his family were morons IRL and his moron frick up lit the match on the whole powder keg.
>Ah, Good Cossutius! There you are!
It feels like the good times are coming back almost. Almost.
The Liam Mcintyre seasons were OK, but half the point of the show was the scheming and backstabbing stuff, rather than just fighting.
Ok, but they're trying to tell a story, and it eventually has to move on. Can't stay in the Ludus season after season and pretend nothing has consequences or you'll end up like Walking Dead or something. And besides, the later seasons did have scheming but more from the Romans.
thats just an odd choice for a story. literally "it was all a dream" tier. im sure itll be nice to see all the characters again but that story just seems weird
It's also a fairly easy "What if?" route to take.
Halfway to reaching the rebels to deliver the message, Ashur decides to frick off instead. All that it changes is Ashur isn't dead. He hides out for a while and reappears after the end of the original show.
This is a monkey's paw isn't it. On one hand Ashur was based and the actor playing him. On the other hand they will fill it with annoying boss b***h characters like the later seasons.
Honestly, this is the best thing that has happened to me in a while.
I hope to the gods they keep the tone from the first couple of series.
>bring a ~~*Syrian*~~ in the house
>everything goes to shit
Just a coincidence
>be bros with a guy who doesnt speak.
>fall out over time.
>get him bummed as a joke.
What are people dreams for this?
Like, the absolute top tier version they could make?
No clue, but it'd be neat to see him be successful with a thriving ludus. Hopefully a cool new doctore. I'd expect he starts scheming against the others just like Batiatus did and eventually dies.
Not a fan of the premise, but Ashur doing Batiatus tier degenerate antics with his usual schemes and really lean into the Gladiator pulp again could be fun I guess. It's gonna need a strong supporting cast since everyone in the original series would be dead. I'm just worried it's gonna be a weird retread of the first seasons where he's going to deal with Spartacus 2.0.
Atmosphere similar to Blood & Sand + Gods of the Arena. Only minimal returning cast, but Batiatus and Lucretia are a must, even for a brief cameo as ghosts or somesuch.
Ludus actually runs successfully, somebody tries to frick him over but Ashur is playing 8D chess.
Lots of breasts and wiener.
>Ludus actually runs successfully, somebody tries to frick him over but Ashur is playing 8D chess.
batiatus never turned on him, right? ashur could make it his mission to restore the house of his former master that was loyal to him after glabber fricked him over
> “The series poses the question: what if Ashur hadn’t died on Mount Vesuvius at the end of ‘Spartacus: Vengeance?’ And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and putting an end to the slave rebellion?”
Eh, this sounds like a pretty fricking strange setup. Not too stoked for this, bros, but let's see I guess.
And what of Bad Solonius?
I never realized just how much I missed these threads until the news about this new series broke and people started making them again. Supremely comfy. Feels like I'm back in better, saner, times.
Reminder that Ashur did nothing wrong.
This
Crixus did him dirty and he had every right to be mad afterwards
Unironically he didn't. God's of the Arena showed he only turned against the rest of the gladiators after getting completely fricked over by Crixus
He didn't even turn against all of them only the one who fricked with him like Barca and Crixus.
you could argue that he gave up dagan to get buck broken but even that was after constantly being told dagan is better and the only reason we keep you around
Nah he was a sly coward before that, sold his friend out when he fought he was going to get fricked in the ass
His 'friend' was turning on him so he could ingratiate himself with the brotherhood. Ashur saw this which is why he let him get buckbroken
Apologies, i didnt remember that
Apologies freely given and freely accepted brother
Gratitude, brother
Wasn't it more Dagan was starting to learn Latin and didn't need Ashur to translate anymore? I'll have to watch again to see the sequence of events.
Oh yeah you're right. Ashur was his translator since he didnt speak latin. He said something like:
>I'm learning the language. Soon I won't need you anymore
But the point still stands because it shows they weren't actually friends
ashur was always reminded that dagan was better than him
stands to reason he has better bussy also and ashur's recommendation to the roman gay just reflected that
It was fricking stupid they just made him a rapist to show he was a villain.
Before that he was just there to show a even a slave could get ahead if they were quick witted.
How am I learning of this from a thread on Cinemaphile?
My wiener rages on.
I'm just leaving this here, don't click on it.
i bet that kid came in the bath instantly
pusy
Dare we dream that the new show will have moments like this?
They'll cast a fat troony and spin it as a empowerment.
Steven Deknight is in charge so I doubt it
Bro I'm just excited we're getting more Roman stuff from a director who already has a track record of producing Roman kino. I'm happy. Plus we get more comfy ludus episodes
There already was a troony in the orgy scene in season 1
It's starz. highly likely
my KWEEEEEN
Ashur was /ourguy/ and that slave c**t naveah killed him
I just want to hear this dude say "Domina..." one more time
it would be nice to see lucy lawless again but i doubt its going to happen, shes like grandma tier now sadly
>shes like grandma tier now sadly
She has a new show now some murder mystery thing and she unironically still looks great. Wouldn't mind her seeing her naked one more time
she was looking pretty old in ash vs evil dead and that was 5+ years ago
I don't know what to tell you. The new show is called My life is Murder literally filmed last year and I still find her sexy in it
Would Vengenace and War of the Damned have been the same if Andy was still Spartacus?
It felt like the Liam version was a different character.
I think Liam was miscast. He wasn't the right age, size or look for Spartacus after Andy. I wish they had found someone else. Nothing against the actor just not a good casting decision IMO.
liam was great, frick you you roman c**t
>liam was great
ah yes, Good Cossutius
Dude has the best rape face I've ever seen
kEK Is this the origin for that Australian wojak?
>Australian wojak
I can kinda see it
I think the overall story would have been the same but maybe Andy would have gotten more screentime and than the other gladiators. Gannicus probably wouldn't have been part of the show either as God's of the Arena was only made because of Andy's death and needing to recast him.
Gannicus was always going to be in subequent seasons, and he is a semi-historical character.
>Gannicus
MY wiener RAGES ON MY wiener RAGES ON
Gods of the Arena, despite being a spin off, is arguably the best series of the show.
It's probably the best prequels I can think of. Usually they're shit and hard to believe but I liked most of it
spartacus was fricking kino and im not gonna pretend otherwise
Ashur getting his own series pleases me. Gods finally take wiener out of ass
This, even though it's easy to dismiss it as breasts and blood, it's a genuinely good show. It has drama, cliffhangers, shocks, you actually LIKE the characters.
If you ever introduce anyone to it, tell them to watch more than the first episode which feels oddly like "We want the 300 Audience."
One thing I'm worried about is this show not having the kino slo-mo action shots. They were part of the charm of the show but seems like the 300 style cinematography has gone out style.
If there isn't a slow motion scene of severed limbs flying end-over-end I am fricking out.
its not about going out of style, the ridiculous slow mo is one of the defining parts of spartacus and if its not in this new series they fricked up bad. it would be like reviving the x files and not having the same intro song
4K Reissue of the original seasons please.
Ashur was only playing with the cards he was dealt.
Do you hate Crixus for having great physique?
DO you hate Doctore for having a wealth of expirience?
Do you hate Giannacus for gee TWO swords??
I also like how they touch a little bit on the different gladiator types in Gods of the Arena.
>Net was canonically op
>Never patched
shit game.
Retiarius being OP is a common misconception. FIghting experts generally agree that it would have been an extremely demanding fighting style with a massive skill ceiling. Theres a reason why sword and shield was so prevalent in military fighting at the time AND the retiarius was most commonly pitted against an opponent that had a sword, a shield, a big strong helmet and an entire side of his body decently armored. Literally something like 80% of retiarius fights would probably be this pairing. On top of that the retiarius was considered a homosexual, it was a somewhat womanly role for whatever reason and it wasn't exactly glorious to be made one. But undeniably the romans also spammed the image of the retiarius everywhere and some high profile gladiators were obviously retiarii.
Most think that this contradiction is explained by the fact that romans also really loved their underdog. Its like playing some modern online PvP game, taking the worst class long forgotten by devs and proceeding to wreck everybodys shit with it. The equivalent of this in the arena was a rando nobody showing up and with odds heavily against him literally murdering his opponents contrary to everyones expectations. This was probably very rare in the games but the romans absolutely fricking loved this shit when it did happen.
Don't see what advantage Scissor has over other classes. Also, wtf is the difference between Murmillo and Secutor?
Soft counter dor the Retiarius.
Check out Batiatus sandels when you anons rewatch.
really hope its good but I dont really trust any modern shows anymore
JUPITER'S wiener. THIS NEWS BRINGS MUCH JOY. NOW I SHALL PLACE HAND UPON MY wiener AND STROKE SWIFTLY

My wiener rages on! My wiener rages on!

My wiener rages on! My wiener rages on!
whata bro
why?
spartacus was already high on woke during it's last season, making him job to a empowered black woman
now it's gonna get worse, specially because it's fan fiction and the writers will have to rely on their own creativity
also, what about good Solonius???
>spartacus was already high on woke during it's last season, making him job to a empowered black woman
Not really.She was humiliating killed
>high on woke during it's last season
You have brain worms.
HE WAS A CONSUL OF ROME!
I've missed Spartacusposting Cinemaphile.
It feels like a time machine being here.
Same. I remember watching the last season as it aired and talking about the episode the next day with my other friends who watched Spartacus. Plus posting about it online. Good times
spartacus generals were the last good generals on Cinemaphile
Nah /got/ was the last. And I mean the original /got/ not house of the dragon shit
the got general was only good up until s5 and then it became a moronic spam fest where barely anything could be discussed because of all the pure garbage spam. hotd was just as bad when the show was airing
The Terror and Chernobyl had some pretty great threads.
They should bring Batiatus back instead
Nah unfortunately hes probably the one character you cant bring back since the only way the premise of this show works is that Batiatus is dead for Ashur to become new Dominus
I will be amazed if they don't have hom appear at least once as a ghost or dream.
"Ashur, you tapeworm addled c**t! This was my Ludus, and you stain it with your piss!"
there needs to be a whole genre of exaggerated (inb4 its not exaggerated) ancient rome shows or flicks like this
I was hoping they were going to make a Caesar spinoff back in the day but it never happened. Hopefully this show is a success so they do more ancient Rome or Greece stuff
iirc they were going to continue the 'spartacus universe' with a show about caesar/pompey/crassus but it never happened. im not sure the whole style of the show would fit those stories though, most of that is political stuff. a show about caesar in gaul in the style of spartacus might be pure kino though, they could use the gauls and vercingetorix in a similar way as spartacus and his army. id fricking love that. and it all culminates in the battle if alesia which would be pure kino in the style of a spartacus battle
>a show about caesar in gaul in the style of spartacus might be pure kino though, they could use the gauls and vercingetorix in a similar way as spartacus and his army. id fricking love that
It all hinges on whether this show does well or not
i doubt caesar in gaul would ever be made into a show or movie unfortunately
I hope this show deals with the fallout of Spartacus' slave rebellion. How it shows how differently the ludus' operate now compared to before. Tighter control of the fighters, less privileges given, more fear of the gladiators etc.
>Tighter control of the fighters, less privileges given, more fear of the gladiators etc.
But the third servile war lead to the opposite of that.
The number of slaves was reduced over time and they were given less harsh treatment and more legal protections
Oh I didn't know that. I would have thought it'd be the opposite
I'm hoping it works as a sequel to the main series, the only change is Ashur deciding to not walk to his death. Everyone else who died is still dead etc, no sudden reappearances.
Ashur redemption arc would be kino. Repeating Batiatus arc would be antikino.
I have a gut feeling this is actually going to be good.
Mid show
>what-if alternate universe
This is lame as frick and I'm a huge fan of the original.
I can't wait for more shitty meme dialogs and blacks in my 300 version of Ancient Rome.
Why won't ROME get a spiritual sequel set in the Crisis of the 3rd century or something?
I know I'm the minority but I liked Spartacus alot more than Rome. Literally every episode of Spartacus made me want to go knock out Mike Tyson afterwards
Ashur somehow funds the rebuilding of Capua Arena.
hopefully the sequel is less... lets say problematic?? than the original
its 2023.
I'm rewatching the Expanse and only now realized that's the same guy, nice
>only now realized
you stupid c**t. when it was airing everyone was calling him ashur in the expanse generals lol
>extremely violent show set in Ancient Rome
>clearly marketed toward young men
>has a gay couple and several gay kissing/sex scenes
>morons here lap it up
jews really have our number
words fall from ESL mouth like shit from ass
literal homosexual says what?
say that again but this time without the esl accent
You
still hearing that broken engrish accent
yes he does
Gay sex in Rome?!!!? Inconceivable!
Yes, actually. Greeks and Romans didn't accept homosexuality, contrary to what israeli media and academia tells you. https://youtu.be/7QVh3kj7CjA?si=CY3nK1NyexsHV4BI
That guy debunked smart israelites too. Pretty good channel.
greeks and romans had a completely different and alien view of sexuality compared to ours. Being a top was socially acceptable but being a bottom was punishable by death
Nope. This is wrong.
It's true
No it isn't. They didn't accept homosexuality in any form. No society did until modernity. Only mass media could indoctrinate a people to the point of repressing an innate disgust response.
They viewed bottom as worse than top
They didn't reject homosexuality until Christ told them it was a sin
This is correct
This is more correct
Watch the video that anon posted. You'll learn something.
But what of good Solonius?
We gotta meme the shit out of this show. Spread it on all the garbage meme sharing sites. Make sure everyone watches it. Make it big.
Then they'll make more Roman content and we all win.
It's going to be revisionist roman content. Basically all the stuff we liked about the original show but without anything offensive to woman or gays. Gonna add a lot more black people too.
>its real
HOLY SHIT KINO INCOMING
For me, it's Ilithia breasts and pusy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
They look so good stuffed in her dresses.
Is the actress for Ilithia still attritive? They can retcon her back into the show too.
They could bring back a lot of people just recast them into new roles. They used to do that shit a lot.
i'd love that
it'll also trigger some of the autists
Cinemaphile here, is sparticus worth watching or will it trigger my inaccurate history autism?
Does Romans wearing lorica segmenta before Caesar conquered Gaul bother you?
i guess i'll give it a miss then
Your loss, idiot.
No it's not
The thing in the pits
Probably
Is 1080p the highest quality for the old show?
Good Solonius?!! I-Is that you?
As long as Ashur is just being Ashur, that’s good enough for me.
Just don’t turn him into a honorable hero or something like what happened to Loki
Girlpower kino is back on the menu sisters!
>Girlpower
Ashur not dying retroactively removes her big moment in the series.
I had a dream once where my 8/10 White wife was suddenly an ugly goblino. Unfortunately for Crixus it wasn't just a dream.
REMINDER
Spartacus actor Andy Whitfield died of AIDS. They say it was cancer, but it was a AIDS related cancer.
You're thinking of your future self
I don't want a sequel. I feel it would be impossible to create something that matches the quality of the original and replicates what made it great.
Maybe I am just a downer because of all the shit remakes, reboots, and sequels we have gotten from other works.
I'd rather the show die great then to go on and be tarnished.
No one said you had to watch it. And the original series will still be there as it always was.
If the only returning character is Ashur, I don't really see how it would affect the original series. It might not be very good. Probably won't be very good. It's probably going to be bad. It's going to suck.
>This is madness!
>This is SPARTACUS!
>fricking Roman manlovers
>Persians were black Africans
iast
>desecrating sacred ground
>sequels
>remakes
>rehashs
>prequels
>alternate universes
>alternate timelines

LOAD OF SHITE
Go watch your all original Marvel Disney movies and frick off then
>original Marvel Disney movies
Like what? Iron Man 3? Captain Marvel 2? Avengers 4?
This show was violent but it was soooooo gay, I mean look at all these buff men
Joy spurts like cum from dick.
