Can't say yet. All three listed episodes are not being directed by the man. But you can sense his aura in the whole thing, which is really good. The shift from digital video to 35mm film is amazing and makes it feel very genuine

For a show centered around blacks, it brings up racial politics rarely. The only glaring wokeness is with Jennie Buss when in reality she's fricking incompetent and only won a chip more out of dumb luck, Kobe dying, and Lebron building a super team
The racial tension is all stuffed into McKay's episode. After that, it's pretty much just basketball and business

They even got Norman Nixon's son to play him. It's a very well casted show. They don't focus a lot on the Bird/Magic rivalry (it gets some focus, but it's at best a c plot since Bird doesn't show up much.) But Magic is pretty much the co-protagonist with Jerry Buss.
Bird has to player a bigger part eventually since Magic and Bird became very close friends in 1985

I like how they use Bird so far. Shows up, says "frick you", and then leaves. They'll need to do more with him, obviously, but it works for now. Keeps him in the back of people's minds before the rivalry really heats up.
