A momentary pause was all she needed to tell her tale, now. "you didn't say anything," she says, juxtaposing the sheer absurdity of the statement with the harsh realities of pre-MeToo Hollywood. "You just took it."

She could have made it on talent though. Interview with the vampire proved she could, in fact, act. Melancholia, Jumanji and even bring it on showed she still had range. Spiderman did very little for her. She was already on the map.

Many actresses, specially those that start young, fail to find their niche and while blaming Hollywood is fair (as many are destroyed beyond repaid by those degenerates) i would say lots of actors just lack good business sense and branding mentality.

Instead of complaining about not being requested she should think about what kind of parts are her strong suit, what kind of projects she wants to star in and just produce something herself. For example Saoirse Ronan often star on independent mid budget films and she has a steady career. Not the most glamorous or popular one but certainly those kind of movies give her enough creative freedom to keep the ball rolling.

Or Millie Bobby Brown, not a great actress honestly, not the prettiest either and she looks quite older than she actually is. She´s basically known for Stranger things and that´s about it BUT she has some decent business sense. She produced these Enola Holmes movies to capitalize on her incipient fame and stay relevant. It won´t necessarily work but it was a decent launching idea commercially speaking. For a person that young shows a lot of initiative. She is actively working on making her career herself instead of trusting Hollywood not to frick her over. That´s worthy of respect regardless of the results.
