When Baker Guy hits first job at Marvel, where he was maybe the third black guy hired in the previous 20 years, DC had one black artist named Trevor Von Eeden who was driven away by editors being openly racist to him. DC had a rather infamous history with racial caricature. There's a Michael Fleisher Jonah Hex issue with a series of characters acting out minstrel style stereotypes published at a time when Von Eeden already worked there. Blacks being racist against innocent whites was a stock DC story that they used a few times but most famously in Legion of Superheroes. DC's first black superhero Male Duncan had the power to be the Teen Titans' black friend and he only ever factored into a story if the Titans needed to communicate with people in the ghetto. Even a later character like a Cyborg plays into a recurring genre fiction stereotype of black eunuchs because the character's injuries explicitly end the possibility of him having a sex life. I'm sorry it hurt your feelings that the Justice League were involved in this joke.
