One day I will explain to my 4 year old where she got her name from, and I will probably put either this song on or You Don’t Give Up by Blake Babies. Music was a bridge over the abyss of teenage angst, loneliness and disillusionment and Juliana Hatfield in particular was a regular in my headphones. Every now and again I swing back around to her catalog and admire how instantly accessible her songs are, but the intricacies that lie under the surface with continued listening. I’m not sure I ever read a write-up praising Juliana’s compositional and arrangement choices, but she deserves that credit. Anyway, I hope that in the bear future, once traveling and concerts become worry-free that my daughter and I can catch her at a show and I can introduce them to each other, that would be just very incredible. Especially as a father who wants to teach his daughter about the power she has, I’d like her to meet another smart, talented and successful woman so she knows that anything and everything is possible.
The 90s were the best time to be a kid in the history of all of humanity. Can't imagine how shitty it must've been to be a jaded elitist loser adult back then who missed out on everything lol
idk why you frickheads are nostalgic for this they literally played it the other day at costco. in fact almost every shop and restaurant in the US still routinely plays 90s shit, over the last two months i've heard... >this song >one week >3am >if you wanna be my lover >losing my religion >man on the moon >more money more problems >i'll be missing you >don't go chasing waterfalls >fantasy >if i ever lose my faith in you >all star >walking on the sun >wonderwall >sally can wait >torn >there she goes >kiss me >teenage spirit
there's more but i'm too lazy to write them all, you get my point.
I like how they play Staind in grocery stores these days
I wish they would goof up just once and hit those 80 year old grannies standing in line at the deli with the MUDSHOVEL! MUDSHOVEL! MUDSHOVEL!
my store plays the michael jackson song where he says israelite and no one's noticed yet
i love controling the music, the zoomy cashiers keep asking for rapshit or whatever modern music is and I keep adding older and older stuff. If they push me any more I'm gonna start playing the showtunes channel out of spite
>The group used a $100,000 budget to make the video. They flew to Daytona Beach, Florida with two dozen friends while the area was crowded with people on their spring vacations. They spent much of the budget on alcohol, buying so much that they broke their hotel's elevator trying to lift it. They shot the video in the afternoon so that they could recover from hangovers in the morning and drink in the evening. The scenes were shot without a script or storyboard. In the video, Len and friends are shown relaxing together and riding on scooters, go-karts, and jet skis.
kino
I was listening to the radio station here (JACK FM) that my dad used to listen to growing up, and now instead of having a "Nonstop 80s" hour, they have a "Nonstop 90s" hour. Frick we are getting old, bros.
kinda bullshit imo. classic rewind on sxm started doing this recently, playing soundgarden and stone temple pilots. they were testing the waters a few years ago playing early 90s gnr and rem as well as clapton unplugged. i guess not enough people complained (or noticed). the 90s sound doesn't really fit in with classic rock, just like most of the 60s hippie rock doesn't fit with it (which they have a separate channel for btw).
>I know I'm not the one you thought you knew back in HIGH school! >Never going, never showing up when we had to! >Attention that we crave! >Don't tell us to behave! >I'm sick of always hearing "act your age"!
i want to go back bros

IF YOU STEAL MY SUNSHINE

I think the two siblings in the band are italian.

>We all missed out on bob cut 90s girls with landing strip pubes
What’s even the point?
Not all of us

This song and video make me sad. It's a time capsule to how carefree and optimistic the world used to be.
