I actually watched this a few weeks ago and really liked it.
I kind of expected everyone to be an butthole to him but his community were very supportive because he clearly needed it and he becomes a better man by the end of the movie.
It was made right before the current era where everyone would have been an butthole to him because his town was flooded with migrant invaders.
