The man actually gets to act instead of being a cartoon. The piercing gaze, the subtle facial ticks, his body language. He actually feels very intimidating. In the cartoon, all of that was so exaggerated so he just felt like a cartoon villain.

was he fat in the cartoon as well?
>skinny 6’4” dude
>fat
Forced meme
Well his gut looked enourmous on the show i don't know what to tell you
The uniform cut is terrible.
This Thrawn guy is going to be done away with so quickly.
Thrawn was only good in the books
Yeah, only the 90's ones.
nah the new ones are some of the actual good ones to come out of all the Disney shit, Zahn still knows how to write. You want bad ones go look at the Jedi Survivor tie in novel
>Zahn still knows how to write.
Zahn never knew how to write, his stuff is on the same level as furry fanfiction. Even looking outside of his star wars fiction his work is like GI Joe tier for tweens.
This is like if Disney started hiring R.L. Stine to flesh out Star Wars characters because people read Goosebumps books when they were kids.
Shut the frick up
Not him, but here's proof. This is Outbound Flight; take a shot every time '[character] said' and a period is used instead of a comma or a high-fin
Editor should've caught it
The editor's job is to fix grammar mistakes, not alter the tone of sentences or add depth; that's entirely on the writer and his ability to convey a gripping environment with strong dialog. I've seen and written better fan stories.
The is not an error. A comma would be used if the sentence was split in two.
I'm not talking about errors on this page solely; I simply opened a random page and took a photo, but even so the character interaction is horribly shallow. No facial expressions, no description about how characters feel about scenarios. Again, very shallow and surface level. One could, for example, cancel out 'said' with various other expressions such as 'muttered, whispered, stated, spoke, added, etc.' It occasionally happens in his books but these are few and far between.
There’s nothing wrong about having a utilitarian style.
Of course there's nothing wrong about it - I merely stated that's scenes read very flat and boring due to lack of detail and character description. I prefer to read stories that use more than two words instead of 'said' within ten paragraphs, but you do you.
That's correct syntax. The real offense is his use of naked saidisms to break up dialogue, and two in immediate succession at that.
>two
ENTER
That is, indeed, unfortunate.
>hit a nerve with the smurf simps
Its okay to like whatever, but I don't think the Ascendency is even in disney star wars is it? I've barely been following their new garbage.
In your defense, the EU stuff, even when it was horribly written, is still a lot better than Disney's stuff.
>You want bad ones go look at the Jedi Survivor tie in novel
not even Jedi Survivor seems to respect that novel kek
Why do they keep giving Sam Maggs work?
i want his/her/their grubby gay hands in every orifices of my body
You can tell by looking at this chick she ain't even a dyke, she gets wiener on the reg and is publicly a lesbian for cool kid points.
>his body language
>Please, Grand Admiral. I insist.
>we have recovered the stolen bread, Admiral Smurf.
Why the frick did they give him a fat costume? Like what's the point?
To accentuate the intellectual part?
Canonically he cares just as much about his physical fitness as he does honing his mind
Yeah, he’s also 70 and the Chiss live up to 80.
I think that image is edited.
Without the edit he is still way too fat
its supposed to be trump from that manipulated photo on angled hill with helicopter in background.
it's supposed to be Goering from that manipulated photo on angled hill with panzer in background.
>Luftwaffles
Elon Musk??
blue elon musk how original
Him looking like Elon is the real upside here. It's okay if they villainize us (white men), all that matters is that we look cool.
you're so fricking moronic
whitebros are on a massive win so far
thrawn is based
sith are based and cute
ashoka and the asian is hated
the green white chick is cringe, but we get a lot of ass shots
ezra (pajeet) is turning evil as well
I told you guys this show was going to redeeeem star wars and it will, boba was just the beginning
>whitebros are on a massive win so far
That's literally what I'm saying though. So what's your problem, bud?
we're not being villainized, we're being worshipped
The show frames us as villains, or at least villain-ish, which is perfectly fine. Spencer was right that in a sense it's who we are.
Thrawn is not a villain, neither are the "siths"
Why are all of his storm troopers beat up? Can't they afford some decent logistical equipment? Does he just never return to port for resupply and maintenance?
Because it's cool. Because they are battle hardened. Because they are ready to get their hands dirty.
I watched this episode out of curiosity, he was genuinely great and a different take on the storm troopers which I liked but unfortunately ruined by some annoying woman sabine who cant act for shit who kills a bunch of bandits with a lightsaber without breaking a sweat and meets some mini ninja turtles and a pajeet. This series should have been about thrawn only, shame wasted potential.
what is thrawns motivation, plan and basic character traits. and not what was told by some autist based on books or comics or whatever that arent part of this show. what you are shown - what did it tell you about this thrawn guy? your first impression is he has an army of zombie mishmashed stormtroopers and beat up junk ship. his first dialog is subservient to the witch women - just asks them for all the info and what is going on. he doesnt know anything. the main bad and big hyped threat is incompetent and serves under the women who know everything and are smarter and better than him. thats what you are immediately shown.
from there, he is then whedon speaked to by the dumb asian jedi who treats his entire prescence as a joke. she is never reprimanded at any point. thrawn is treated like a joke and accepts it from the main character's own mouth (no, ahsoka is not the main character, sabine is. she has all the development, screen time, most lines and ahsoka literally shows up at start of this episode and is asked if she wants a story told and she says no before never seen again - thats how impactful she is; sabine is the main character).
not only is he treated like shit and insulted nonstop by sabine, but he even capitulates and gives her what she wants - all her weapons, even lightsaber, and supplies and transportation to find her friend. and for what? to find ezra, who we know nothing about and have never seen or heard about before. so not only is he just getting walked over by sabine, hes been stranded here for years and cant find one guy living in the wild on his own despite planet sensors and tech. but sabine can find him in 5 minutes. bravo thrawn. you fricking suck so much a girl that has never been on this planet before sent out with no info found the guy you wanted before you could in years.
his big plan is send others to kill them after she finds ezra, who he couldnt find. not rebuild empire. not get home. what a joke.
>Voiced him in the cartoon
Why didn't Ashley reprise her role then?
Fat.
Nope.
is this one shopped too? his belt is clearly jutting out a couple inches in front of his torso
Not shopped. It's his posture.
Ray and Lars are huge guys. The women are women. You guys have no sense for physicality.
the stormtroopers in background are 3 tiles away and similarly shrunk too much.
You're just looking for something to cry about, not even in a genuinely autistic sense, just in a b***hy one.
volume screen is cancer. and are the women in middle midgets/hobbits? why the frick are they so small? literally one floor tile away.
He's too fat to be Thrawn. You can't take him seriously as a disciplined military officer a cut above the rest.
He's not, he's just tall and old.
Not that I'm intimately familiar with all these minor characters from star wars merchandise but I thought his thing was supposed to be that he was a brilliant strategist. Not necessarily someone who's physically intimidating. And higher ranked military officers letting themselves go isn't unheard of.
His "brilliant strategy" was looking at art and then Sherlock Holmsing that his enemies would be unable to move vertically or some other tenuously connected "deduction". Zahn basically just tried to write him as so genius no one could comprehend the connections he was making.
Thrawn canonically cares as much for his physique as he does for his mind. He's a warrior, after.
After what?
Why would Thrawn even care about the fricking Empire at this point? Wouldn't his first instincts be to go see what the frick happened with the Chiss Ascendency? I'm holding out hope that there's a twist like that coming that after all the hype the remnants had for him he's like J/K I'm going home but I just can't give Disney any faith for doing anything but the most boring fricking option possible
>Why would Thrawn even care about the fricking Empire at this point?
Read the books. He joined the Enpire in the first place to have a somewhat competent alliance against whatever it is he sees lurking in the Unknown Regions and he rather ally with them than the Republic because the Chiss view them as incompetent. Books have been very open about the fact he'd sabotage the Death Star since it could be a threat to his people and Palpetine calls him out on it.
Also, he's in contact with at least Ar'alani since she knew Vanto would be joining them.
Think is: Zahn doesn't know how to write.
>Thrawn said
>Anakin said
>Thrawn said
>Anakin said
Every scene that's not a battle is piss poor and surface-level.
The Empire was actually more incompetent since it lost. He chose poorly.
Everything is incompetent in the movies. Especially in the movies. Regardless, he joined when it was still at the height of its power, it has the military and mentality of order and subordination that the Chiss favor; it's all that was needed for Thrawn in Heir to the Empire to almost gain complete and ultimate control over the galaxy. If it weren't for a needed, unforeseen assassination so Luke, Leia and the expendables didn't die.
Thrawn ate all the crab people
I kinda dig seeing him age.
>they didn't even include the face bulges
not even worth torrenting.
