If you don't like it, feel free to hide it and go back to the dozens of shit threads I'm sure you love. I will continue posting it every time I see one of those shit threads and there is nothing you can do to stop me.
Probably like 15 years ago. I caught on pretty quick that you watch good stuff alone and slop when you're with people. I had like one friend I could watch arthouse movies with but he moved away.
You're not deep and your taste in film isn't ascended and if it was you wouldn't need validation from others. Your projective expectations of other's reactions is also noticeable and detracts from other's viewing.
I showed my zoomer friends the Matrix because they said they wanted to see where the red pill reference came from. They talked through the whole red pill scene and one of them left during the metal detector shoot out.
I showed it to my mother and she seemed to find the dialogue very hard to follow but she still enjoyed it overall. Boomers appreciate the Matrix.
My Dad's favorite movie is The Matrix. He's 68 and plays/mods Skyrim and Fallout 4, inserting big titty NOCs for his combat harem. He's also a dipshit anti-vaxx anti-abortion anti-masturbation Trumper who absolutely jerks it to his prostitute horde. I'm not sure whether to think he's based, a hypocrite, or both.
Well by posting it here I'm sure you will get a ton of morons calling him based, but I'm not one of them. In my opinion, liking The Matrix, Skyrim, Fallout, and breasts is based. The other shit, not so much.
I tried showing a girl Akira like 4 years ago. She did an art degree so I thought she'd like it. She fell asleep like 30 minutes in and woke up and said "you're still watching this?"
>If you made anyone watch anime you deserve whatever you got.
Harakiri is a samurai movie from 1962 dumb dumb. I thought she’d like it because she is a fan of kill bill, and creators of kill bill straight up stole a ton of shots from it.
I don't think Tarantino steals so much as homages, he's pretty open about telling people what his inspirations are. Like for example the opening scene from Jackie Brown is a remake of the opening scene from The Graduate. And the soundtrack of Inglourious Basterds (itself named after an Italian World War 2 movie) is entirely composed of songs originally from other movies, mainly spaghetti westerns but also cat People for some reason. But yeah, it does seem like a lot of fans of his movies seem to have only watched his movies and don't have the appreciation for old films that he does.
I am usually very careful about cultivating my recommendations according to the tastes of whomever I'm with, and pretty much always hit the mark. The one exception is my old man, but that's specifically because in his case he consciously hates everything he watches that's recommended to him, and on the flipside will become the fiercest, staunchest, suckup loyalist to anything he finds by himself because he's in love with the idea that he's secretly smarter than everyone else in his life.
I used to get mad at him for it as a kid, but I've long accepted it as an adult. Now he just gives me a cheeky grin when I catch him doing it and call him on his bullshit. At this point it's like a dumb game we play.
Well, I said it in a parallel thread here >195839442 but honestly, Titanic lore has some of the most badass humans in history. Ignore the movie if you want, but do yourself a favor and read about these Chads:
Joughin
Lightoller (Dunkirk is loosely based on him)
& Ida Strauss
Guggenheim >>the Titanic's 1st class band >...and others. Pure kino.
I also had a Dark City failure, they downloaded the wrong version
I never realised how shit the regular cut is, fricking horrible, while the directors cut is fantastic
Same thing happened to a lot of good movies. Leon, Heaven's Gate, Blade Runner, Once Upon a Time in America. Another thing these movies have in common except for Leon is that the cut version was a huge bomb that ruined the reputations of the films for years, while people who have seen the director's cut count them among the greatest movies of all time. It's fricked up how a movie can be ruined like that through no fault of the director.
Never because Im not a loser who needs other people to validate my preferences.
Just say you have no friends nor anybody interested in you to show them something you love or that helps show your point of view.
You post this thread every single day, you don't have any fricking friends, loser. Stop forcing your mother to watch your shitty ass movies with you.

I tried to show my girlfriend Harakiri but she fell asleep half way through
Did you rape her?
No, rape is a disgusting thing to do. I am very anti-rape.
this guy rapes
wink wink
shouldve raped her awake
Again, hard no on raping.
Women and drones don't watch movies, they play with their phones.

Millennial culture really is dead jesus
I'm concerned about why someone presumably in his 30s would have friends in their 20s.
>zoomer friends
Why would you actively spend time with people 10 years+ younger than you? That's creepy, anon. Stick to your own age bracket, weirdo.
My best friend is 10 years older than me and I couldn’t give any less of a shit.
How did you meet him?
Job

Ah ok, sorry, sounds pretty cool.

I have a list:
> Master and Commander
> Spy Game
> Titanic
> Dark City
> John Q
> High and Low
People with the attention spans of gerbils shouldn't be allowed to partake in kinography.
Why Titanic? That's pretty mainstream compared to the other stuff.

...and really, it's just a fantasic movie.

This homosexual reposts this fricking thread on a regular basis and you newbies respond in earnest
GTFO with this shit
If you recommend a book to your frens, it will be worse. Longer form, more complicated narratives than video games will run into these situations.
Video games can be pretty long too. Movies are probably the shortest thing you can recommend and still expect someone to watch it.
No, I exclusively show kino to someone I am dating. So that's never happened to me.
Kino example: Paths of Glory
my sister and her bf.
i showed them no country for old men, they called it "stupid trash", im still seething to this day.
It was hot shots: part deux
I LOVED YOU IN WALL STREET!
Yeah
