LAW & ORDER: SVU

>Girl accuses two classmates of raping her.
>Turns out she had consentual sex with them to lose her virginity to chad would frick her.
>But she only did it because she is bipolar and went off her meds.
>She did it because her favorite rock star played by Darryl from The Walking Dead said mental health medication is evil and told his fans not to take it.
>Girl steals a car and runs over multiple people during a maniac episode.
>They take Darryl to trial for manslaughter over this.
>He reveals he is anti-meds because his parents institutionalized him for attempting suicide and he had to go through electroshock therapy that damaged his memories.
>The SVU squad somehow wins when the prosecutor points out he didn't attempt suicide again so the electroshock worked.
>Darryl and the bipolar girl go to prison.
>THE END.

That was a fricking wild ride.

    >Get to the end of the episode, the perp is about to get away with le surprise sex due to lack of evidence
    >Writers are running out of time to wrap up the episode
    >Benson calls the perp a moronic homosexual
    >"WTF I AM NOT A moron I GOT AWAY WITH RAPE THAT'S RIGHT I DID IT UHOH OOPS I ACCIDENTALLY CONFESSED LOL."

There are like fifty episodes where they do this.

Happens in real life. Most people who commit crimes are not particularly smart.

      Episode is a wild ride!

Happens in real life. Most people who commit crimes are not particularly smart.

True, but most of the time the perp fricks up before they ever get to trial. They bury themselves and take a plea. IF they structure the episode well, there can be a realistic "smoking gun" that comes out
      Good example of trope
      >girl (black) found attacked and raped in park
      >Lives with older brother, who pimps her out for drug money and they have no parents
      >They get mom on witness stand to try to implicate her son as the pimp
      >They bring in a man she knifed to get her to crack and admit to her son pimping her out
      Bad example of trope
      >Carisi's niece is raped episode, In Loco Parentis
      >She had regrettable sex, guy gets suspended
      >Niece invites guy to her dorm to apologize and gets actually raped
      >Carisi forced to reveal she lied about the first rape, ensuring the guy goes free
      >Stone baits the guy to go on a "This damn #metoo stuff ruined my life" rant and admit he raped her

        >"You gotta make this right"
        >"By telling the police that I lied?"
        >"N-no, just tell the dude in private that your sorry, but still hope the situation will magically go away"

        Great detectiving there, uncle shitwriter

Its probably Carisi's worst moment in the series. It makes sense he wants to protect his niece but as a detective and someone trying to be an ADA it makes no sense for his character to do that

I haven't seen Law and Order but I remember an episode of The Practice where some israelite murders the guy who killed his daughter and in the trial his lawyer argues it's morally okay for israelites to kill in revenge according to israeli religion. And the fricking jury acquits him.

    I was in fricking disbelief

There is a real case where a israelite was acquitted because he claimed it was his religious duty as a father to find a wife and husband for his son and daughter so a prison sentence would really just be punishing them.

I had to drop Boston Legal because I kept getting annoyed by how terrible the lawyers all were. They all broke the rules every other episode.

Also the nerdy one who had all the supermodel women throwing themselves at him, always the cleverest guy in the room and somehow winning impossible cases with theatrical gimmicks. Must be a self-insert.

        That's a classic israeli self-insert.

I'm surprised the Norman Reedus aesthetic never got popular.

Good Wife is legit the best courtroom show, good blend of humour and interesting cases of the week (showrunners used real cases in the news etc.) and season-long storylines running through. Somewhat overlooked as it seemed to many like a women's show.
Boston Legal was too cutesy and trying too hard, plus the cases were usually boring.

It's underrated for sure. The title was a poor choice, people didn't even react to your post because they can't picture it as anything other than housewife drama bait.

The good wife is one of the most watched and adapted tv series from the last decade, moronic homosexual. And yeah, I think it's a terrible show. Oh poor woman whose husband betrays her, but she's so masculine and strong! she'll turn it over! frick off.

Might check it out. I'm waiting for the release of The Good Lawyer, spinoff show from The Good Doctor. The autist in that is cute.

Writing for SVU sounds like a really fun time. Has there been a rape by people dressed up as aliens episode yet or do we have to wait next season for that?

For me it's the guy who raped Jennifer Love Hewitt once a year, every year, for fifteen years in a row

The Batman of rape. The rape cruise missile.

How many times has Benson almost been raped now? Is that like the series finale, when someone finally rapes her after so many attempts?

I thought she did get raped at some point? Pretty tactless writing considering she's supposed to be a rape baby.

A season ended like 8 years ago with a rape cliffhanger but she made it out. I don't think she's been raped yet, just a few fake outs.
