I made this thread last night after watching the movie, inquiring about this picture of this map, but it mostly trailed off into talking about numerology and secret hidden numbers inside media and film. The map itself seems pretty tame and maybe not so probable imo, the QR code is what really captured my curiousity. While that all was interesting it did not really answer the question I had. What the hell is this QR code? where does it lead? why did the creators of this movie decide to hide it in this quick scene hardly noticable? Also i would like to have a discussion about whether we can expect atleast some of the events in this movie coming true within the next year and how we might be able to prevent it. I also found this reddit link where they seem to be talking about the same thing and followed the link to a website, but they still don't know why and what for.

What a steaming pile. Just an awful movie. Cool ideas and scenes, the oil tanker, the planes, the drones dropping flyers. But the drama between the families was dumb race stereotypes that didn't lead to any meaningful conflict. The family was unlikable. It really broke down quickly and ended up nowhere. The ending with the medical emergency at the end was so weak. Bad job Email.

the movie was interesting/cool enough for me to overlook that. and that is saying a lot. i turned off the batman as soon as the sheboon cat said "the priveleged white men" or whatever. i can't tolerate an ounce of that shit anymore. Don't know the exact context of the map, but it doesn't seem to make sense itself. How would CNN have accurate reporting by county of disruption cause by a cyber attack that just occurred? How would they even be measuring disruption? If it was by power outages, the disruptions would follow the US energy grid and not sporadic levels all over the place.
Much better question is why they chose to add this nonsense map in the first place.

It's crazy how that little, straight-to-streaming, low budget production makes so much more organic impact on Cinemaphile than whatever Disney slop was released this fall.

I think these two guys sort of have the best two theories. Also i apologize about the photo quality, i don't have the 4k netflix and i just took a screenshot of the movie frame. I made sure to leave the timestamp if you want to see for yourself. Ultimately I think the map is sort of silly and doesn't really show much, i just found the QR code pretty curious and thought it was well hidden (intentionally?) in a very quick frame, something that wouldn't have been noticed very easily. I was just wondering about some theories and conjecture as to what its purpose is. Seems an awfully strange place to put a QR code.

Level of disruption lmao, id imagine if something like this were to happen they'd go after big servers and the things that make other things work. Idk shit about networking right but I know when Amazon's AWS is having issues my company halts and that's probably the same with a large number of big businesses. Or Salesforce for example. So those things would impact everywhere quite equally id imagine, with my limited knowledge on networking.
