I'm reading Legion through the years now. Reached Emerald Eyes. I really like it. The main cast is consistently great. My favourite (and funniest) moment so far when Timber Wolf and Light Lass were having a moment, talking how they can die and GigaStacy Imra basically said "git gud and don't die."
Also, a surprisingly complex and extensive Rogues Gallery. Fatal Five are favourite villains so far.
Pretty amazing in certain runs, currently they're awful tho. Like GL but worse DC can't seem to figure out what it wants it's cosmic settings to be and LoSH is a cosmic setting set in the future, basically a whole new world with its own lore and own characters with zero relationships to Batma- I mean the DC present. It has writers still batting to have a go at it tho so we'll see in maybe 2 years or so.
A while ago I asked if someone compiled references for the Legion members, and turns out someone did! Here's the blog if you're interested in seeing the various costumes worn by the Legionnaires.

As somewhat of a comics casual, the Legion does intrigue me, I find the idea of a young Superboy going to the future to having adventures with a bunch of teen heroes very fun.
DC rebooting them like 3 or 4 times makes it all a bit confusing tho, I wouldn't mind some type of "World's Finest: LoSH" similar to the Batman/Superman and TT books by Waid as a way to reintroduce the classic Legion.
But he's not actually writing them right? He's heading off the work on his indie book for image. Sure he's bringing retroboot back to canon but it quality depends on who writing for it.
So Clark was a member of retroboot/Johns Legion (which is kinda like pre-Crisis Legion but not quite the same).
Conner was a member of Zero Hour reboot Legion.
Kara was a member of threeboot Legion.
Jon was a member of Bendis Legion.
And this is ALL currently canon at the same time?
I think current Kara might've been part of the Retroboot Legion since she's back to being part of Dick's generation, but we'll have to wait until someone acknowledges that. >And this is ALL currently canon at the same time?
Kinda sorta, after Bendis fricked Superman, no one has tried to unfrick it, so the Bendisboot was the only canon for a while, but recently Johns brought back his version of the Legion of Substitute Heroes
At least he brought back the subs.
and obviously has some plans for the Legion, so we'll just have to wait and see.
>since she's back to being part of Dick's generation
Whuh? There's no way that can work though. She has to come some time after Matrix and the presence of Matrix in Reign of the Supermen was recently acknowledged in the 30th anniversary special.
By the way if Matrix is canon then the pocket universe she came from is canon, which means the Superboy from that universe is canon and therefore HIS Legion is canon, and that can't be the same as any of the other Legions.
>There's no way that can work though.
Nuh uh, the universe has been rebooted like 3 times so she's back to being Dick's contemporary at least since Waid's World's Finest, where have you been? >She has to come some time after Matrix and the presence of Matrix in Reign of the Supermen was recently acknowledged in the 30th anniversary special.
It all happened, just don't think too hard about the time-frames dude, this is comic books after all.
>supergirl shows up and is around same age as dick Grayson >she dies during crisis >matrix supergirl shows up and then retires from superheroing >original supergirl comes back from the dead
They’d just have to explain how she came back from the dead. Since it’s comics it’s not too hard.
As far as “pocket universe” goes…it was just time trapper doing some nonsense on the Legion
I find it funny the DC Wiki has an article literally called "Legion of Super-Heroes is confusing".

Like one guy is obsessed with her. The rest are anons taking advantage to talk about losh.
It's important to understand the context of the time, Cinemaphile was going through an epidemic of "topic weekday" threads at the time, and there had already been multiple lengthy discussion threads about the legion, Wazzo Wednesday just started as a way to blend in to the current trend but it was always a thread for the legion in general as much as it was for circlejerking over tinya

The few comics I've read I've found incredibly uninteresting. Just dull. I really hate it when they make space adventures dull.

Uninteresting and lame, and ruin a key aspect of Superman's character by their association.
Totally cool and fun addition to Superman mythos and they work well on their own too.

lmao
I know people like to meme about this one, but it's so lazy that Grell just took the colour out of his normal costume and called it a day.
This would look good on a girl.
His girlfriend did have a similar get up
Holy soul.
They should bring this costume back just so people cant complain about good superheroine outfits
Literally add bunny ears and it's complete
They just don't make costumes like these anymore.
Wow, the future is sexy
It just updated.
Thanks

Still waiting for Johns to bring them back.
At least he brought back the subs.
>his last DC story for the foreseeable future uses the Subs
No matter how much he lets me down, I'll always have a soft spot for Johns.
Where there's a Legion of Subs, there's a Legion of Supes.
But he's not actually writing them right? He's heading off the work on his indie book for image. Sure he's bringing retroboot back to canon but it quality depends on who writing for it.
Imra's a b***h.
Get off Cinemaphile Querl
I miss them.
They should be more involved with Superman I think.
I think the Legion was good until it wasn't. And at a point around before the first Crisis editorial simply stop to care about them.
They’re my favorite wish we could get new stories or at least reprints. Levitz volume 3 is still mostly out of print
Maybe the most retconned high-profile team out there.
liked the cartoon. havent read too many legion comics though

It's funny cause it's true.
They're confusing.
All good teams are.
I don't understand Wazzo Wednesday. I don't understand why it exists. Why are so many people obsessed with Phantom Girl?
