You forgot about the advertising budget - which is a hundred million+/-. Plus, at the global box office, the studio does not receive 50% of the fees.

I had no excitement for the first one and hated pretty much everything I'd heard and seen of it, but I watched it because I like Dune and thought it was overall fine as long as I didn't think about it at all.
