Writers and Actors strike aside, let me tell you some things I learned from the inside
>Execs are genuinely freaking the frick out because of flop after flop throughout this
>There's talks of either putting multiple franchises in hibernation or outright just ending them entirely
>Remember Sheridan saying HBO wouldn't make Yellowstone because it wasn't urban? Yeah, we're looking at another rural purge as execs seem to think it would entice the 'wrong' kind of moviegoers, they are still of the belief the 'urban' crowd will be there for them, which is why they keep trying to appeal to them and what they think are their interests
>The rural purge for those not in the know was a removal of TV shows set in non-city environments, the most basic and simple version but I have a word limit
>The backlash against Sound of Freedom is much more extreme, coordinated, and frothing at the mouth than you already see, a lot of suits were pissed when it came out and gained such a following because it's not from any of them, and they believe their franchise pictures should have gained that traction.
>Expect a crusade against the Horror genre in the near future, it will be entirely engineered and it's Because Hollywood through a political perspective in "the best interest" to put the genre to rest, not out of creativity or anything but because it's seen as something the demographic they are pursuing would rage against them for
>Bob Iger is so legitimately out of touch he believes Indy flopped because of a smear campaign from the Republican voterbase
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
>Games are being seen as the replacement of superheroes, Disney in particular has been trying to get the rights to Street Fighter but Capcom wouldn't budge in the slightest, which made the Disney execs very pissed off
I got more too
I believe this
Why?
An anon would never lie.
Based believer.
Fake & gay source seeker.
>I got more too
Go on…
I apologize for inconsistency with posting bud, I also have some stuff around the house to attend to
Just trust me bro
>Cocaine Bear, that meme flick? It was made with the intention to flop but when it performed decently? They were upset and pretended to be for it and it's success
>Netflix right now is hemorrhaging money, if their live action One Piece flops? The existence of Netflix as a whole will be in doubt and they may have to sell
>There's been an expression of doubt towards the continued pursuit of the Chinese market due to political unease between the US and China
>The suits behind major studios are looking to replace China as their major foreign market with India or South Korea
>made with the intention to flop
Why? Why on Earth would you fund a movie WANTING it to eat shit?
Tax write-off purposes mostly
kek, are you 12 years old?
>India
Now You See Me Cinematic Universe incoming.
>The suits behind major studios are looking to replace China as their major foreign market with India
The trouble with that is that China was a recovering Stalinist economy where just going to the cinema was a novel experience until recently, they can't just replicate that with India.
India already has it's own thriving movie industry that has spent decades learning exactly what Indians like to see in movies and producing it.
There is a 0% chance that Hollywood can compete with Bollywood on its home ground because that would require them to not spend 90% of the movie preaching about American liberal politics that no pajeet gives one single street shit about.
>India makes moronic, but entertaining movies about insanely over the top masculine heroes juggling flaming chainsaws while fighting on motorcycles in between romantic singing and dancing
>Modern Hollywood somehow thinks they can compete with this
its over
honestly, I’m at the point where pajeetcore movies sound more fun than anything the west is churning out, and browsing Cinemaphile has left me with a hatred for that entire region which can only be cleansed with atomic fire so that’s saying something
They are fun on their own, although I always feel weird watching them because all my interactions with pajeets have taught me that they seriously think of themselves like the complete badasses portrayed in their movies and not a nation of poo eating morons.
They make the same fricking film over and over again 300 times a year and they're as camp as frick and really only for women and homosexuals.
The only problem is that Indian audiences only really like local content. Hollywood doesnt do that well out there and the receipts are shit because no one will pay too much for cinema tickets. South Korea is a content factory on an audience market, its only got a population of 60 million.
Hollywood's current ESG gay/troony agenda doesn't fly anywhere in the world. The execs are dumbfounded and humbled by the fact that their assumption of cultural colonialism was massively delusional and overblown-- in fact, it had the opposite effect, as woke types are now a clear fringe that's disliked/despised/distrusted worldwide
I think they may have to bite the pillow and start making comedic caricatures of their ESG darlings, if only to regain a smidgen of global appeal
>The suits behind major studios are looking to replace China as their major foreign market with India or South Korea
I think it's more likely that the secondary market behind India will be either Indonesia or The Philippines
Flips speak English.
Also Indonesia is descending slowly down the Sharia Rabbit Hole
interesting read
they dont, its not even close like spanish and portuguese all seamonkeys are poor af why in hell would hollywood be interested in them idk
Surprised that Hollywood hasn't gone all in for Southeast Asia
>two countries who speak English as their first/second language
>all countries are friendly to America and the West
>does not come with China baggage since they're isolationist states with no aspirations of being a regional player
>still about a billion people combined
>Philippine and Vietnamese diaspora are way too common in America and Commiefornia, easy to find shoe-ins
>the most popular Asian actress in Hollywood is Malaysian
>they're not dirtpoor Africans who can't afford to go into the movies, at least half the ASEAN states are upper middle income turd world shitholes on par with like Mexico and LatAm
I think they'll start more if China gets more hostile with Taiwan. A lot of the more prudent and anti-cap beliefs can then be written off too, written off as "Anti-Cambodian" because investors and media would be encouraged to bring up the historic denial of the Cambodian Genocide in American education
Vietnam doesn't get butthurt over the scores of It Ain't Me flicks
There are three Muslim countries so not too much globohomo, I mean Hollywood already accommodates Gulf Arabs
The only thing ASEAN TV/film regulators hate is China's 9-dash line being included and other pro-Beijing wanking that can be edited out
The global movie markets are all mapped out and occupied by now. Any change in attendance is AWAY from Hollywood movies and towards movies with more authenticity even at their most commercial.
>The global movie markets are all mapped out
Only for major markets.
The smaller ones are too in their own way-- and they wouldn't be enough to reverse Hollywood's shrinking/freefalling anyway because they too reflect the Zeitgeist, in which Hollywood movies are increasingly seen as boring and predictable.
They're actually looking seriously at Mexico and South America more broadly - Hollywood movies are actually doing BETTER there than they used to... The only place where that's happening.
Hence all the "Latino" stuff lately
In the US film market you need high Latino audience numbers for it to be a hit. They're the market that makes or breaks a film. The White demographic is also vital of course, but the black and asian dont really make much difference.
Why not just go with Japan?
Does Hollywood just really have a raging hate for Japan or the Japanese people or something?
Literally they've turned away Japanese actors and actresses because China said so.
That and yes, they do. They've always had this weird anti-Japan hatred going, the popularity of Manga and Anime probably has not helped
I wonder if Toho starting their own Godzilla movie again is partially due to them losing faith in Legendary to adapt their monsters for American audiences.
The contrary, Japan is only making Godzilla again because the monsterverse proved people want more Godzilla and we have been getting more japanese Godzilla ever since the 2014 movie. The netflix trilogy, Shin Godzilla, Singular Point
Shin was in plans way before 2014 was a thing.
Minus One does not sound like it was being planned for as long as Shin. It's such a new take that it seems like a cultural response to America's depiction of the Big G, with a direct connection to Hiroshima and rumors of Godzilla himself being an Onryo/Demon instead of a natural organic creature
>rumors of Godzilla himself being an Onryo/Demon instead of a natural organic creature
Wait what?
Yeah, Godzilla Minus One takes place in 1946, the rumors for his new origins are that he's a type of demon created from the vengeful souls of those who died in Hiroshima
That sounds like the plot of a fan script I wrote ages ago called Hell Godzilla.
Except in my moronic fan script it was all the tragedies of the 20th century that empowered and awoke Godzilla and I never sent that shit to Toho
I don't mean awakened, I mean he's formed from the souls fusing together into one being
False
Japan already consumes as much Hollywood as it's ever likely to.
not really no just look at their numbers. you'd think something like pr would be a smash hit bc they like kaijus
Blind with envy
avatar 2 flopped in Japan because of a sequel to a basketball movie
they just have different tastes than the rest of humanity
>Cocaine Bear, that meme flick? It was made with the intention to flop but when it performed decently? They were upset and pretended to be for it and it's success
lmao The Producers tier, hope ends with same results with sues and jailtime for not paying
>Cocaine Bear was made to flop
Mmm-Hmmm - EVERYONE loves losing money for no reason
>It performed decently
Production Budget: $35 Million
Marketing Budget: $110 Million
WW Gross: $85 Million
Meme elsewhere, faker moron
The last set of financials from Netflix showed cashflow of $2billion, they're about the only media company showing real resiliance and financial strength.
So what happens when they pursue the South Korean audience?
>Made with the intention to flop, but they got mad when it didn't
What is this baseless schizo babble, why don't you people ever want to talk about a movie
is Apple gonna buy Disney?
If the stock price drops below $80 then bids for it will be launched.
If Apple buys Disney, then Google will buy Netflix
>dislike manga anime
>want to get gamers
>with liberal politics
Frick, are movie executives this stupid? If they want gamers, they will have to abandon leftism and bring back blonde women with large breasts.
How are they even hired nowadays? Nepotism and affirmative action?
>How are they even hired nowadays? Nepotism and affirmative action?
Sort of, they do have subtle vetting procedures to see if you'll play ball with them
They don't want gamers you moron, they want "nerds" who post how "nerdy" they are on Instagram because these comedy up pedos think that's who'll eat that shit up.
>are movie executives this stupid
In a word? Yes.
>Frick, are movie executives this stupid?
Money people don't care and don't know. They don't engage in popular culture as a hobby or recreational activity.
They hire market specialist for 7 figures to tell them what market wants and they hire dozens of them, but if all of them tell the CEO that 'Frick Whitey' is what people want, CEO has no way to dispute that.
He can literally only react after the profits are in, but the commies can still blame it on muh disinfo campaigns, or their favorite one - product didn't fail due to leftism, product failed due to insufficient leftism.
Their boards are full of D&I appointments so the only thing they think is going wrong is that they;re not putting enough diversity and inclusion in their films.
Horror fans are easily the most loyal fans of any movie genre. They’re always buying up the same movies over and over. Why would Hollywood try and make few horror films?
The genre itself is cheap to make but there's executives and suits who think of its reputation as an unironic "problematic" genre that could get them some serious flak, it's why you've seen a lot of the A24 flicks try to be 'sophisticated' but the experiment to sophisticate the genre has been seen as a failure
The whole "elevated horror" became a thing, because people were tired of cgi-ridden shit horror, torture porn and endless lame horror franchises at 00s. Most A24 horror movies have all white cast, no politics, no dumbed down plot for zoomers, and are not part of any franchises. You would have to be moronic to think it's some plot to destroy horror. It's complete anti-Hollywood. Horror would be dead genre without the rise of "elevated horror". Hate it or not, this has influenced many indie horror film makers, and it's the reason why we even old school like indie horror like Void and Terrifier.
It's the same logic they employ for turning away the core fan bases of established franchises.
How’s about your dad, how is he doing at Nintendo, OP?
You’re making this up
>and me? My name is Michael Paramount
Sure thing, buddy.
>horror is the only cash cow for studios right now
>let's kill it
That is not unreasonable, at the absolute height of MCU Ironman, Thor and Captain America's popularity, you wouldn't find their comic books in the comic stores.
What you would find instead are the replacement floppers that are currently dragging entire MCU down.
That's a lie.
You can cope all you want, Captain Marvel, Miss Marvel, Female Thor, America Chavez, Riri Williams, female Panther, female Hawkeye, Miles Morales were all massively pushed for over legacy characters at the top of MCU popularity, no matter how many times they were cancelled, and when they were, they dragged the corpses of legacy ones to staple the failures to them, every single time.
It isn't though. They built characters and then tried to transfer the fame and love people had foe those characters to diversity replacements. They universally flopped. The only thing that's kept Marvel from going breasts up was the MCU. Their comics have been dried shit for 15 years.
I liked Immortal Hulk and Hox/Pox.
That's because they take the existing idea and corrupt it, they add flaws for the sake of complexity that they believed were originally missing
An Immortal Hulk film would likely homage Split and Glass, Devil Hulk/The-One-Below-All would be "the beast" of the story
No that was called marvel now and frick you homosexual
US comics are dead, everyone reads Manga, something like My Hero Academia outsells anything DC or Marvel several times over.
>everyone reads Manga, something like My Hero Academia outsells anything DC or Marvel several times over.
nobody in America reads manga outside of pre-teens and trannies
still MHA and other some manga shits gets at the top 5 of the books sellings every week at the newspapers lists, you moron
And nobody reads comics period.
>And nobody reads comics period.
because nobody in America reads books period
Still massively outsells DC and Marvel.
even as a big comics reader who hasn't touched manga with a ten-foot pole, manga is 100% winning that race. even the books that have reliably sold well (i'd bet money that Amazing Spider-Man has been a top-seller for decades) are flushing themselves down the toilet with terrible arcs.
>You'd be right to guess this, but studios legitimately hire people to browse social media, they make money browsing posts and bring the results back to them, from there they put it in notes to send to writers and directors
>Disney, Warner, and Sony are the most usual offenders of doing this, Netflix as well.
>Hulu is seen as a minor priority, as it's not a huge moneymaker but hasn't garnered the controversy it's competition in Netflix has so it's viewed as not a total loss
>WBD is claimed to have very little problem with James Gunn's DC films but that's total bullshit, Warner and Gunn have had many disagreements over the entire slate, especially with both Superman and Batman, who are seen as high priority characters for this whole thing
>Bob Iger hasn't talked fully rebooting Marvel yet, but there's a fear he might if he wants to.
>fully rebooting Marvel
Is that even an option at this point?
How do you even go about that without backlash
they'll just do another multiverse thing
Wasn’t the rumor that Michael Multiverse from the comics was going to be introduced in the next Loki season?
>the next Loki season?
Is there a next season?
Yeah, release date has been confirmed
Okay that name sounds like a blatant ripoff of "Steven Universe"
Yes, because Hemsworth is gone
They can end the Kang movies with that kind of ending where you can have Iron Man, Cap, and others back but now with the X-Men and Fantastic Four
Are you serious? Most modern capeshit fans would slurp it up because they'd get to sperg out over new storylines, casting rumors, etc
Make the latest phase the "epilogue", have Bri Larson sacrifice Captain Marvel in a bold last stand so Doctor Strange and Black Panther can save the Marvel multiverse, the MCU universe is saved, but essentially "refreshed", so they can keep what they want while rebooting some Characters and introducing others.
>backlash
Is this a joke? To the best of my knowledge they've been rebooting superheroes again and again for at least 20 years, Batman and Superman even longer than that, and comic books have done it for like 100 years. Anyone into that shit has no problem with it.
Every time they reboot a comic book or a whole comicbook universe, there IS major backlash. Sales pick up again briefly then go back to or lower than what they were before.
The western comic industry's obsession with connected superhero universes is what's killing it.
This isn't inaccurate, the social media engagement is currency to them.
The 'There is no negative advertisement' mantra is STILL the golden standard, even though Budlight's dozen of billions hiccup put a dent into it.
.
>but studios legitimately hire people to browse social media, they make money browsing posts and bring the results back to them, from there they put it in notes to send to writers and directors
They should just browse /tv and everything would be fine.
Are our pitches and ideas ever proven to be incorporated into or influenced their works?
Obviously not.
The most Cinemaphile did was get a porno made
>You'd be right to guess this, but studios legitimately hire people to browse social media
They should pay them to tongue my ass, i still wont see their movies though
>Hulu is seen as a minor priority
Disney will have to pay $20billion come October to buy the remainder out. Hardly what i call a "minor priority"
nah, a lot of this is they have no clue how to maintain cultural relevance and try out the wrong things, not expecting that to bite them in the ass down the road.
just like bud light didn't get screwed from the troony can directly. it was them shotgunning gay shit for years without worry so that such a terrible campaign seemed normal and harmless.
>>The backlash against Sound of Freedom
Had me until here. Good try though, Mr. Spammer.
>WB especially tried to keep tabs on “alt” websites like Cinemaphile
>various studios have considered the possibility of casting trannies with huge wieners to star in a future crop of big budget movies. the goal is to make everyone want to have a troony wife and them imported in from Brazil
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future
If they actually watched anime they'd know this won't work
Also
>Hate anime
>Try to buy the rights to street fighter
lol
Nobody ever said these pedophile drug addicts were smart
Brazil and not Thailand? Who's running this shit?
Disney is the same company that preaches LGBTBBQ shit but also bends the knee to China and the Middle East
This
Disney's idea of supporting the gays is a brief girl-girl kiss that can be cut out for chink and towelhead censors
Because those countries dont accept that shit. Over here though everyone bend over and takes it up the ass.
So what exactly has been the timeline of these failures?
>movies flop
>execs freak out, some get fired
>share holders push for expensive focus groups and algorithms to make sure they tick all the boxes
>soulless trash misses trends and appeals to no one
>they freak out
>repeat ad nauseum
Is this about accurate? With some Blackrock money to shill things thrown in of course.
Basically, some don't get outright fired but their pay gets cut, or demoted in some form
Kinda, but the problem also lies with ZIRP and Quantitative Easing. Both Wall Street and Hollywood have gotten so used to cheap money that they've forgotten how to make a profit with a reasonable cost of capital.
There might actually be some real damage coming. They picked the worst time to be releasing bombs right when there's a double strike and consumers are getting pinched by inflation.
Yeah this is a bigger issue than most people think.
>rural purge
This is credible to me based on what friends out in California who are in the industry have said offhand. They mentioned 'industry guys don't want flyover films like Twister and Walking Tall anymore'.
Suburban people love those movies.
people loved the shows that were purged the first time and they were purged anyway. People wondering why are forgetting that media is meant for propaganda, not profit.
Why?
No clue. I'm not in the industry (carpenter), I just have buddies in California.
My best guess? They associate the "flyover" regions as Trump country, and that man mindbroke them. Not as bad as Reagan or Bush mind you
Bullshit he didn't
I vaguely remember lots of Bush jokes but nowhere near the vitriol they give Trump for simply existing
What are you talking about, Trump was worse to them than Bush and Reagan squared!
because I made it up
Here you go. The 'It's not about the profit' is not a meme and never was.
>posts a picture of Jed Clampett like it means anything to anyone where
>zoomer cannot imagine or relate to things outside of his 2010s bubble
Black person generation.
you’re old. get over it
And you're an inept, inattentive nobody. What your point?
I will be tiktok famous for a longer amount of time than you are complaining about the Beverly Hillbillies
The algorithm will never pick up your vids because you're an ugly mutt with cringe takes.
>Unironically using Chinese spyware
What's your post supposed to mean?
My dad grew up in the North of England in the 60s and still goes on and on about The Beverly Hillbillies. A couple of weeks ago he was ranting about it being the best show that ever aired on tv. I dont understand the hold that show had on people but I know it had a hold on its audience.
>Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
>huh, a picture with a bunch of scribbles around it? what's this supposed to mean?
Holy shit, zoomers really are illiterate.
Society is broken when one segment of society hates another segment they exist to serve.
Ruralites are just now starting to catch up to urban elites in how much they hate them. Urban elites have hated them far more for far longer.
Was Dukes of Hazzard the show that ended this anti-rural era?
jews
Rural films arent really global. Urban films have appeal globally.
I dated a girl who grew up in a big city briefly and she said something to me that was interesting. Basically she was watching a show set in some small town in rural America and she was disturbed by how non diverse it was.
And I basically had to tell her that is how small towns usually are. It's something so far outside their experience they unironically can't understand it, and so they're bigoted/biased against it in a similar manner to how country rednecks hate city people. It's just ignorance and lack of actual diverse experiences outside their normal frame of reference.
>They mentioned 'industry guys don't want flyover films like Twister and Walking Tall anymore'.
I 100% believe this. The level of pure hatred these people show for their audience every time you let them talk is astonishing. It must be 100x worse in private.
they are pure fricking evil and for being members of the communist plot to enslave mankind they deserve to be hunted down and slaughtered in their homes
>walking tall
Speaking of which, is it Mandela effect or did they rename the Dwayne Johnson remake to “the rundown” or something to avoid copyright or keep people from looking into the original (which is almost a documentary it’s so accurate)?
isn't Yellowstone a huge hit? I saw Yellowstone Monopoly at the store the other day.
wait, seriously? because I saw Yellowstone keep punk and thought I was going crazy
As an educated guess, movie execs having a meltdown bc of Sound of Freedom and horror movies (M3gan and now Insidious 5) makes sense because:
-these were inexpensive movies, and it seems clear that these bloated blockbuster budgets seem shady and could be hiding other accounting shenanigans
-these 3 movies connected immediately with their audiences, thereby showing movie execs (most of them in their late 50s-60 yos) as out of touch-- an embarrassment for them considering shareholders's reactions to their incompetence
-these movies go against ESG "guidelines" nonsense,
Essentially, these big studio execs find themselves losing cred and losing terrain and this year of brutal flops and several underperformances signals a changing of the guard as well. There'll be a new generation of more pragmatic, less biased producers. Jason Blum is a good example of a matter of factly, financially lean approach to making movies
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
so that's where the "tranime" spouting morons came from
Anime barely has any impact at the US box office....However...There's clearly a cultural shift for young men away from Hollywood to Japanese Anime because its made to appeal directly to them. Its surprising how well known something like Attack on Titan or One Piece is, and the recent success of Mario shows the power of Japanese youth culture. Going forward Hollywood has lost the most profitable demographic, teenage boys to Japan.
whats funny is that disney bought star wars and marvel to reach the teen boy market, but then of course they fricked it all up by casting le strong women and filling it with feminist crap
as always they have no one to blame but themselves
Amusingly enough, something like Sleeping Beauty is more appealing to the average boy than any modern Disney schlock.
At least the girls are pretty, and when the boys show up they slay dragons.
Disney is a girl company, anything they get they feel compelled to convert to the Girl market.
>However...There's clearly a cultural shift for young men away from Hollywood to Japanese Anime because its made to appeal directly to them. Its surprising how well known something like Attack on Titan or One Piece is, and the recent success of Mario shows the power of Japanese youth culture
Mario is not seen as Japanese to most normies
and most jock chad normies don't like anime
Disagree. I have no idea why gymbros love anime, but they do.
Blacks love DBZ
Everyone loves anime, because it what we grew up on.
Exactly.
These execs wonder why people today like anime, but that's because most of them grew up watching anime.
Dragon Ball aired in the 90s, 30+ of today grew up watching that. The execs might find it hard to believe, but anime isn't kryptonite to most adults today because most of them watched it in one form or another at some point in their childhood.
That and, if the older generation grew up with DBZ and Hokuto no Ken, the next one is growing up with fricking MHA. Anime isn't a nerdy thing at all for zoomzooms.
And the international audience like LatAm for example that fricking love properties like Dragon Ball. Making films based on anime should be a no-brainer. But it should be done appropriately. Something like One Piece should’ve been an animated film series, not a live action tv series. Cowboy Bepop also could’ve a live action film with an original story but with the spirit of the original series.
So do white people and mexicans. Dragon Ball transcends race and Cinemaphile hates that.
hard disagree, if this was the 2000s jocks wouldnt like anime, but anime and manga have been normified, lots of jocks and weight lifter types like the go getter attitude of shonen anime.
There are also sports anime themselves, japan thinks of everything bra
>but anime and manga have been normified, lots of jocks and weight lifter types like the go getter attitude of shonen anime.
no, they really don't outside of Hispanic DBZ fans
I'm like, "Hollywood imploding? Don't care", you know
>The rural purge for those not in the know was a removal of TV shows set in non-city environments
I'll just add that the Rural purge happened when the rural themed programs were MASSIVELY popular, it wasn't in any way dying or stagnating market.
It's also not some meme myth, it was officially called that, it has entire large segment on wikipedia.
But why start another one?
Are execs literally deluded into thinking something is worthwhile chasing the urban hipsters?
They probably equate a higher population with more potential sales. Plus, rural people still go to see movies set in the city. Meanwhile, city dwellers tend to look down on most anything associated with the country.
>city dwellers tend to look down on most anything associated with the country.
This is true, they associate anything outside their cities as being an enemy to everything they hold dear
It does not help pop culture enforced this idea
They're backwards and poor and contribute a very small percentage of the economy. They have an outsized level of influenece relative to their size. Thats where all the anti science shit is at its strongest, where the televangelists and inbreeding is at its strongest. They're fricking worthless. Like a fricking albatross around the neck of the country. They only thing they're good for is stopping gays and trannies.
it's ideological, not business driven
has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood,
beyond delusional
the post was an okay larp until this point thoughever
Yes, because Hollyweird and English translators have shown nothing but love and respect for anime in recent years.
TOTAL
HOLLYWOOD
DEATH
Bro give me some inside info on Stranger Things 5, what do you have
Not OP
But there are rumors the Duffers and Netflix are really not on good terms because Netflix set a budget for them, they keep going overbudget for music, effects, and everything
>they keep going overbudget for music, effects, and everything
But they haven't even started filming, you mean the last season? It was a massive hit and the only thing keeping Netflix afloat
Didn't Joss Whedon do the same thing with Buffy back in the day?
People itt are forgetting Avatar 2. Jim Cameron buck broke the ever loving shit out of the rest of the business.
Cameron and Cruise teamed up with Miyamoto and proved nearly every assumption of why movies lately are flopping wrong. You get asses in seats by showing something they want to watch. Nothing more to it
Probably a larp but I believe it.
I see so many flops now would Hollywood be making a profit by canceling everything? Actors and writers clearly don’t know how to make money.
Mr. Vin the Diesel how is your feud going with Mr. Rock the Johnson?
Is fast and furious safe?
Last one underperformed.
>underperformed
>fast cars b***hes with big asses
>dieselkino
wrong show your breasts or gtfo, only a female would complain about a fast and furious
Anon, the reason the new ones don't do as well is because the car lineup is always "MUH MOPARS"
It didnt break even, it may have lost money. The budget was too big.
I don't know if any of this is true but isn't it kind of wild how the music industry seems very fricked up and now Hollywood? I think this has some kind of grave consequences for what we have left of a society. There is little to no common culture any more, which does not bode well for a supposed republic which is supposed to rely on common civic feeling. LOL at everything.
We haven't really had any common culture for several decades now, people are largely isolationist unless they subscribe to popular culture and treat it as a way of life.
No, just not a israelite so I'm not familiar with the idea of making something that has no value.
>making something that has no value
wait until he learns about the federal reserve
kek
>I don't know if any of this is true but isn't it kind of wild how the music industry seems very fricked up and now Hollywoo
It's going to change, current paradigm isn't functioning but people still want art. Dam will burst
Content-wise, will the successes of Sound Of Freedom and Elemental have lasting influences on the stories that executives want writers to make in the future?
Will future film shoots be more deregulated and guerilla-style?
Elemental was a flop anon???!!
Insider here, Hollywood is aiming for the zoomer and boomer audience and done with millennials, since they've concluded "they don't have any money or future". Expect more "member this?" movies for boomers and "meme" movies for zoomers. Heard talks of making a Mr. Beast movie for kids, re-making Jaws/Titanic/The Godfather for boomers, "comedy" movie about "white losers forced to pay their student loans" (I guess to make fun of millennials and appeal to zoomers?), and so much more awful ideas. This industry is fricking dead bros.
When can we expect the anti-work comedies for Zoomer appeal?
Inorganic rehashes don't connect to any generation at all. Neither do "let's see what the kids are watching on youtube" cringe attempts such as the Emoji Movie
Marketers and other bullshitters should be left aside and studios have to focus on 1)genre (horror, thriller, action, non PG-13 stuff) and 2)individual CREATORS rather than lowest common denominators "writers' rooms"
Thing is studios think marketers = money and prioritize them. Studio I assist is focusing all their budget into marketing and sales, and leaving editors and creators to work off scraps while having to meet impossible deadlines. And they wonder why the works are constantly being shit on and not profiting as the morons in sales forecast.
This entire industry needs to be destroyed and rebuilt.
>Thing is studios think marketers = money and prioritize them.
True until reality has abundantly and conclusively proven otherwise this year. ALL the recent attempts to "eventize" big franchises were underwhelming or outright flops.
The change in working methods will involve getting rid of snake oil sellers and types who think of movies in algorithmic terms.
>The rural purge for those not in the know was a removal of TV shows set in non-city environments,
Pour one out for "Farming For Love"
Schizoposting aside, they really just need to make cheaper movies and not bet on the worldwide audience to make it a success when there's so many factors at play that decided what movie will do well or even be released in certain places. Ameerican movies need to be made for Americans first and if people in other countries like them then that's great, but if something pisses them off, who cares? It was made with a modest budget and the domestic audience will take care of it.
Insider here. Mel Gibson keeps giving other actors AIDS and nobody can stop him. Tom Cruise was his latest victim.
Based. Every last Hollywood demon needs to be pozzed and fricking die.
>Games are being seen as the replacement of superheroes, Disney in particular has been trying to get the rights to Street Fighter but Capcom wouldn't budge in the slightest, which made the Disney execs very pissed off
They should have proposed "Marvel Vs Capcom" as the movie to introduce them
Disney would NEVER allow a character like Morrigan in their movies
Plus, no actress in Hollywood exists who could play her
Anon, do you know what Carol Danvers looked like before Hollywood got hold of her?
Also Filipinos are not prudes like China and Pakistan were. We may see a return to more revealing designs as a way of trying to attract Flip viewers
Hollywood in general today wouldn't without feminist/social justice groups having a tantrum, same goes for other visual waifus like Tifa, Miranda Lawson, and especially Pic Related
Anon you really think feminists will still be viewed this warmly when they're the reason for the SAG strike?
Are they?
The leader of SAG is Fran Drescher, who identifies herself as an anti-capitalist feminist
With a 25 million dollar net worth.
Hollywood wanted to go the streaming route and then when pandemic was over expected people to just be back and in movie theater.Streaming competition is at all time high and movie quality is at all time low,why waste 20 dollor for a movie when you get amazo prime for like 10 and get 100 of movie an tv-show.
Many types of films will never be made for the cinema again. Why waste $15 dollars on watching a romcom, or something like Manchester by the Sea in a cinema when you'll get the same if not better experience at home. The number of cinemas in the US will have to be cut for that part of the industry to survive in the future.
Why isn't there an Anti-Hollywood located in somewhere like New York where they don't frick kids and produce kinos
Maybe Suffragette sensibilities are bad for movies. None of them ever predicted the stances their movement would take today, or the effects it would actually have long-term
I hear there's something like that in Georgia, dunno about the non-pedo part though
That's what The Daily Wire is trying to make. Of course, Cinemaphile is too cool to ever support it, even though it's exactly what they want and are asking for.
How can I, as a poor male from chicago that has an autistic interest in movies and film, support this new hollywood? i genuinely would like to know
>That's what The Daily Wire is trying to make. Of course, Cinemaphile is too cool to ever support it, even though it's exactly what they want and are asking for.
to be fair, no Republican has ever made a good piece of kino outside of Clint Eastwood
Depends on your definition of republican. Almost all the truly great filmmakers were non-leftists.
But can you call them pure right-wingers?
They wouldn't buy into the idea that a man in a dress becomes a woman, reparations, toxic masculinity or any othet libshit nonsense. So yes, they would be considered right wingers today
The only real competitor to Hollywood are the streamers on Youtube or Twitch or Tiktok. How many zoomers do you see only watching that shit these days? they dont even watch tv anymore.
>The backlash against Sound of Freedom is much more extreme, coordinated, and frothing at the mouth than you already see, a lot of suits were pissed when it came out and gained such a following because it's not from any of them, and they believe their franchise pictures should have gained that traction.
Yeah, this whole post is bullshit. Sound of Freedom may have had a better box office than Ultra flops but it still didn't make much money overall.
>It still didn't make much money
>nearly a 10x roi
whatever helps you sleep at nught m8
>it still didn't make much money overall.
For a cheesy Christian to make almost 90 million at a 14.5 million budget? Yeah, that's insane.
Thats more profit than Dial of Destiny, The Little Mermaid and Elemental, which had combined budgets of $1billion.
>every point aligns with manchild chud fantasist cope
anime is massively shilled and popular. your little troony cartoons aren’t niche or counter culture
Is that you doomwiener?
>Expect a crusade against the Horror genre in the near future, it will be entirely engineered and it's Because Hollywood through a political perspective in "the best interest" to put the genre to rest, not out of creativity or anything but because it's seen as something the demographic they are pursuing would rage against them for
>it's seen as something the demographic they are pursuing would rage against them for
They want to enrage the demographic they’re trying to attract?
You have to remember they see you as sheep, it’s their duty to guide you as well as sell to you.
You dont ask a sheep which brand of sheep fed it wants.
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
this is 100% true. there's gonna be a massive astroturf campaign soon to make the connection between anime/e-girlcon to child sex abuse part of the public discourse. Then shortly after a large doxing campaign to identify and shame a few bigger celebrities/young politicians over their anime proclivities. Things like Sound of Freedom are being allowed to exist because it's bringing pedo child abuse to the forefront of the public conversation, but they want the Republicans to get riled up first, the Dems will get their own Sound of Freedom soon enough, after that it's on to shoving anime out of the western market. For the health of companies like disney/marvel and WB/DC, any drawn material from japan is going to be heavily restricted or outright banned.
Anon as much as you want a Cuba-style Trade Embargo with Japan, China's getting too Russia-like to do continued business with
I'm starting to think OP is attempting to spin all of this from a puritan right perspective, the kind Marky Mark would take
I don't want the embargo. But it's been in the books for a while. The big movie companies who own the comic franchises see anime as a threat to their film generator farms that used to be comic companies. It's gonna be really easy to get public opinion to turn against anime when 10-20 outlets talk about the literal hundreds of thousands of pornographic material involving children characters from popular anime i.p.'s. Pokemon could vanish overnight as a viable ip if someone on CNN or Fox news did a quick browse through any rule34 archive
>Wait Wait I don't want the US to be isolationist, m-my kid watches anime but this is for our country's own good I swear
That'll be the spin for the moral panic. But there'll be an angle for pro-american productions too. Anime is killing legacy american "industry". Just like how people tried to kill japanese car brands back in the 60s and 70s.
And then the late 70s through to early 90s had people buying Japanese cars out the ass because America's government at the time LEGITIMATELY BELIEVED the Yugo and Lada were the ideal motor vehicles and all American cars should be modeled after them
>Disney in particular has been trying to get the rights to Street Fighter but Capcom wouldn't budge
With all the nogs in the latest one I'm surprised it wasn't a Disney product.
>>The backlash against Sound of Freedom is much more extreme, coordinated, and frothing at the mouth than you already see, a lot of suits were pissed when it came out and gained such a following because it's not from any of them, and they believe their franchise pictures should have gained that traction.
>~~*hollywood*~~ cant even learn from it and just copy it like they do everything else and make a shitty boiring indie movie about social issues
Only possible if the studios never make a deal, because then they'd be able to find new blood willing to tackle roles and issues that the WGA and SAG refuse to do
that shitty movie was practically made 20 years ago, just less creepy and in africa
and there was Lord of War, about the international arms market and its predominance in relation to the ~~*US*~~ sphere of influence
I am starting to think these movie fellas don't like us average folks
Why do they hate us so much?
a crusade against the Horror genre in the near future, it will be entirely engineered and it's Because Hollywood through a political perspective in "the best interest" to put the genre to rest, not out of creativity or anything but because it's seen as something the demographic they are pursuing would rage against them for
So pretty much the usual for the horror genre?
I always tried to imagine a situation like in the Bible, where some goat shepard was given a glimpse into an apocalyptic future and he tried his best to explain it using whatever understanding was available to him
And here I am now, thinking how I could explain to my grandparents that to fight the israeli media menace I have to watch anime
Man, it's some fricked up times we live in, that's for sure
>Entertainment industry is from top to bottom being buttholes to their audience and publicly and openly despising them
>Their own useful idiots revolt against the upper echelons of the industry
>For whatever reason, this will result in a harder retaliation against the audience
>"You did this"
>anime, horror, and ruarl out
when israelitellywood fails at making boring libtard garbage i wonder who they will blame
If we go by the simplest answer, they will blame "republican smear campaigns" and possibly claim that their Arts and Entertainment industries suffer from "right-wing infiltration"
Those same groups
Rural purge is idealistic and not market. The middle american MAGA people made Sound of Freedom a giant hit for a reason and you can easily appeal to that audience without diving into the politics thing if its too much for the liberal hollywood israelites to praise white christian people.
It is
They outright don't want middle America or its residents. And they outright treat Christianity with disdain and go out of their way to make any character who is an evil psycho, even Rainn Wilson noted this
>And they outright treat Christianity with disdain and go out of their way to make any character who is an evil psycho
Yet, they've still chosen to borrow and protect certain social values and hierarchies that Christianity helped to create and reinforce. I have to wonder if they will stop supporting these hierarchies and values because of SoF
Going off of the Sound of Freedom thing, I watched the Terminal List recently after hearing mixed reviews and its one of the best action thrillers Ive seen in a long time. Its not outwardly political at all, but you can just tell its meant to appeal to the middle americans and its obvious why it got shit from critics when it first came out.
These studios are not run by automotons motivated by pure profit, but by very rich idealistic people who have this mindset that with their power comes a responsibility, and that means using what they think is a bottomless war chest to churn out left leaning propaganda in every movie in order to jam it down peoples throats.
Even Yellowwood is left leaning to a certain degree. I really do think if the conservative movie makers play things right they can carve out their own thing to rival hollywood. Normies in general dont give a shit about ID politics either way as long as the movie is somewhat entertaining.
This must be fixed, and there are two possible ways of fixing it that I can see:
1. Reconcile. Make it the new corporate meme that middle Americans are being underserved by the market and need "positive representation". Negative portrayals of Christians and small towns are collectively shamed.
2. Replace. Use a combination of undercover white hat infiltration of Hollywood leadership positions and shareholder pressure to throw out the old guard and enforce a new vision
That simply means future movies and shows will shed light on the social issues that region tries sweeping under the rug with "family values"
You know how before SoF came out, all the "woke" films and TV programs still used a traditional "nuclear" structure to the families they showed on screen? Well say goodbye to the preservation of Traditional Structures
Good. It's time the local stage made a push. DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME
Youll take my anime from my cold dead hands hollywood
's talks of either putting multiple franchises in hibernation or outright just ending them entirely
YES PLEASE I'LL HAVE WHAT HE IS HAVING
>Disney in particular has been trying to get the rights to Street Fighter but Capcom wouldn't budge in the slightest
Nog Fighter is already ruined, censored and full of diversity characters, so not much lost on that front even if they did get it. Get back to me when Disney tries to get the rights to The King of Fighters
They'll likely never be allowed Mai because she originated from an entirely different series. Even then she's far too sexual for Disney
See, as gay as her being banned from Smash was, I got it
But what was their excuse for not getting Tifa when they brought in Cloud and Sepiroth?
Have you seen how she's dressed?
Reminder that the little mermaid still didnt make its budget back. How much longer is hollywood going to let the 2020 saint floyd riots rot their brains? I get the feeling that all of these frick ups are being done by women in these studios and the men around them feel too uncomfortable to push back against their moronic ideas
they hate anime because its popular and because its not filled with left wing politics, its not propaganda like american comics, and it lets people be entertained without being brainwashed
anime is full on antifa pedophile troony bait. The reason hollywood is so hesitant to touch it is because its usually weird garbage thats super niche and in that audience is mostly poor morons without a lot of spending money.
Its too much of a risk. The entire US anime sphere is populated by le heckin chungus redditor dorks who are all about black trans lives.
Say sunk cost without saying sunk cost
You’re overthinking it. They only hate it because they’re not making money from it.
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
lmao
>push to stay away from green grass and freedom, and pack us into this effete city life and worship materialism
and people will say there is no conspiracy. literally everything in this whole goddamn world, human, plants and animals included, is a communist plot to achieve the fricking protocols and the WEF vision for their bleak and ugly future. homogenized slave cattle barely operating at 1% of their potential, meanwhile they elite are allowed to drive fast cars, frick fine women and eat the flesh of raw ayran babies
i hate this fricking simulation so goddamn much. i want a nuke to drop on my fricking head so fricking bad
i wish youd have a nice day too
frick you homosexual. you are israeli fed israelite b***h and your master is ancient homosexual demon
Why on your head when 99% of the problem would be solved with regular old fashioned nuclear war?pms2d
i actually got a warm feeling looking at this, no pun intended
so basically Wisconsin and Maine are the only places you're not fricked in this scenario
Ma bro.. sound or freedom did well because it costs nothing to make. Pretty sure more people went to see indy5 or whatever capeshit is showing atm. But these moronic studios think they can pump 200/300mil movies and everyone just keeps showing up regardless of quality. That has proven not to be the case at all. Wouldn't be surprised if all they learn from this is lowering film budgets substantially.
If Games replace capeshit, will we get solo flicks for vidya villains that turn them into "Sad and Broken" types, like Maleficent or Joker?
I choose to believe this because it conforms to what I want to be true
OP here, I forgot to mention I'm trains if that matters btw
Oh mah gawd your a train?
Maglev or Locomotive?
SquadW
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
>Anime has become Enemy No. 1 in Hollywood, Manga as well so expect an even harder campaign against the two mediums in the near future, from the usual suspects of The New York Times, Kotaku, The Guardian, ect.
The comicbook industry is getting assravaged by the morons running AND mangachads. I couldn't be any happier.
>no mention of KDramas
k-sisters... we just keep winning
All Netflix k-dramas have some gay angle to them. I have a feeling k-pop and k-dramas are being astroturfed for some reason.
Oh look another doomcuck thread where he desperately tries to larp and SUCCEEDS
FRICKING have a nice day, Cinemaphile
I can tell it's a larper by some of their answers revealing their own personal leanings, but I choose to entertain them
If it was Doomwiener there'd be mention of how KK has been fired from Star Wars forever for real this time.
Most of his points are sound (some seem a bit farfetched as producers/execs have limited reaction options other than to adapt) and the discussion in the thread is interesting anyway
>Oh look another doomcuck thread where he desperately tries to larp
No shit it's a larp but all larps have an element of truth in them.
hollywood does have a massive hatred of conservatives and rural life, this is not a secret.
I'd imagine they would hate sound of freedom cuz it's outside studio system and "conservative" themes.
I don't think they give a shit about anime.
They know their is $ in games and have for years, no secret there.
There IS a lot of panic on box office and high profile flops. Remember there is a years long pipeline for movies, they don't want to have more losses.
>Anime has become enemy No. 1
this is great news unironically
>I learned from the inside
Thing is...nobody gives a shit what they think. They either make choices that appeal to most amount of people or they will get fired / out of business.
Nobody is immune from this, they are 100% dependent on viewers for content, every time.
WeebCHADs rise up.
What’s the verdict on twitter takes for top executives right now; Are they still API that shit site for script dialogue like idiots
Obviously they mine social media for quips and zingers, why do you think reddit loves marvel so much? They basically use an AI to generate comedy based on whatever gets fhe most upvotes on r/funny
Same for pre-Musk Twitter + liberal propaganda flicks filled with le epic ratioing one-liner hot takes
Found the problem for Hollywood executives. Too much of a high asking price from broke homies because they can stich two scenes together with photoshop layers. Teach this in schools, make it Mcdonalds tier, hire me as a director for a top franchise, and I’ll be the next Nolan.
Why not make smaller budget movies with specific markets in mind?
Make 10 movies each with $10-20m, divided from a total of $200m. Each movie represents a different region (or ethnicity). Package all 10 movies streaming/distribution rights to recoup the budgets. Advertise specifically to the markets of the target audiences in order to recoup the advertising budgets from box office. Hope out of the 10 movies a couple of them catch on to a larger audience to make profits. Then recycle the formula just making new original content.
But what if I hate the white people and want them to die and suffer but still see my movies where I openly tell them I hate them? And if I do that how can I hide the real profits we make and avoid paying anyone but my friends and family?
>religious movies
holy snore
I didnt say religious. I said regional.
Ideas from the top of my head:
>A movie to appeal to New England states. 15 million people. $10m for a rom-com about white people in Vermont. Potential wider appeal with women.
>Mid Atlantic has 60m people. A $15m crime flick. Italians, Irish, and israelites. Potential wider appeal with gangster movie fans.
>Great lakes / Rust Belt states. 40-50 million people. $15m budget. A period drama disaster movie about the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. Wider appeal with boomers and autists who like boats.
>Midwest Prairie states. 20 million people. $10 million budget. City people get lost in the outdoors. Horror or whatever. Wider appeal with horror movie fans and Koreans.
>Mexicans. 40 million population in the US. Budget $10million. Some movie about how Mexicans have big catholic families work in kitchens. Potential wider appeal with audiences in Mexico and other Latin-Americans.
Those audience sizes and low budgets would make it easy to get a return on the investment.
Frick that. Movies don't need 100 million.
Small character driven films. Shot on location in states/cities that give tax breaks. Hire young directors straight from film school or tv directors who cant get a look in in Hollywood. Use mostly unknown actors, maybe one star per movie and sell it to them as art house. Cut all special effects. Don't bother with animation, leave that to pixar.
Easy return on investment.
>$10m for a rom-com about white people in Vermont
Hallmark films you mean...??
I guess so I mean they make a lot of films there must be an audience for it.
10-20 mil is much too little to deliver something of quality. 100 mil should be the end cap for both live action and animation.
>against anime but not videogames
schizo
if true it's good that Capcom said no to frickin' Disney and sold the rights of Street Fighter to Legendary instead. The game is about strong hot men and women, blood and shit, not some putting together a team cringe fest
Can I get a QRD on why the strike? Is it because writers and actors are afraid of being replaced by AI?
They're just being greedy and they want more money. They're using AI as a casss belli
>Modern writers, especially TV writers, are fricking terrible at their jobs and have no leverage for negotiation
>Studios use streaming services as their dumping ground for old shows and low quality slop, mostly TV series that no one watches
>The terrible writers don't deserve their positions but have inflated egos, and want to be paid like prestigious TV writer rooms in the past
>The studios largely aren't making profits on streaming and so they use their leverage over the shitty writers to not share viewership data or pay out residuals.
>The WGA sperged out, called a strike and made a host of other ridiculous demands, including 12 writer minimums on 12 ep shows.
>The studios are now content to wait them out until they go broke and buckle (they will
>but Capcom wouldn't budge
My fricking knees
Disney Street Fighter would be
>Black Ryu
>Cammy covered up and only shares a name
>Chun Li as a snarky girl boss
>Ken is the white boy jobber who exists to be lectured to
>Guile is super frickin' emasculated, probably loses his flag tattoo too
>M Bison is a stand in for Trump
The perfect Street Fighter film already exists, true kino will never be topped
>M Bison is a stand in for Trump
That man has not been President since 2021, are they really that obsessed with him?
Its all they think about anon. They're seething extra hard right now that they're realizing no one cares about their gay little Twitter Red Guard larpers anymore and are speaking up about their shit.
>Games are being seen as the replacement of superheroes, Disney in particular has been trying to get the rights to Street Fighter but Capcom wouldn't budge in the slightest, which made the Disney execs very pissed off
They already have kino material with their Lucasarts IPs anyway.
Great thread, it's a shame it's about to end. Can you do a continuation of this topic?
>pic
Is this going to make Riddick 4 take even longer to come out? It's already been 10 years bros
Bump for op please talk about more
OP is dead. The J--ish mafia got him.
not my problem
i havent paid for entertainment in 20 years(besides for internet of course)
i dont consume any media post 2000.
the entire industry can evaporate forever and it wont change my life at all.
