That actually sounds really interesting if it's like that one episode about whether or not Data has legal autonomy. It probably won't but it could be cool
Good example, that episode was garbage compared to the rest of TNG. An entire show about it would be unwatchable.
Every trek season needs at least one courtroom 'sode. Preferably more.
The Ready Room could be replaced with a courtroom drama about betrayed fans and their class action lawsuit about their childhoods being raped, in the spirit of The People vs George Lucas.
I bring call my first witness, Ms. Wil Wheaton.
Not liking that episode?
Your taste is garbage
>filtered by MOAM
he's struggling.
>measure of a man

have a nice day.
It's a shit episode. How does he make it to Lt. Commander without his sentience already firmly declared?
problem is 1 of 25 vs 1 of 10. trek is built for lazy writing but you need to make up for it with volume
Trek does a lot of legal drama, 2bh.
It's called strange new worlds not trek legal.
wait, is this J.J. Abram? is JJ posting right now? Frick you J.J. Abrams, dumb mother fricker. You ruin everything you touch. Frick your mystery box horse shit. Thanks for turning Star Trek into star wars for fricking 15 frickin years, you hack.
Yeah imagine turning your sci fi show into a legal battle.
Measure Mind
measure of a man, dood
sounds cool
tell me you've never watched star trek without telling me you've never watched star trek
>You didn't watch thousands of episodes before watching a new show so your opinion is invalid
the franchise has been around for almost 60 years
Correct pls report to the holodeck for ersatz extermination by Mongolian horde some ensign’ll scoop you up with the poop and jizz.
I'm new to trek but I saw a legal DS9 EP where Worf was on trial for blowing up a ship that came out of cloak.
Great episode
You dont need to watch every episode but being completely ignorant about a common episode type that is found in every single series of the show ever produced(including classic epsiodes every fan likes)should out you as a poser. Get gatekept.
Season 1 was kino
Season 2 is pozzed
Simple as.
If they don't go to a strange new world next episode it's unironically over
Is there a blocking function on Cinemaphile by any chance?
ctrl+F4
Lmao you incel chuds will always be like this, sorry but we've taken over your franchises and improved on them.
Were evolving these shows and bringing them into the 21st century, seethe.
This is bait, but Paramount is literally on the verge of collapse and looking for a buyer. Look how all that “improving” worked out of them lol…
https://trekmovie.com/2022/08/10/strange-new-worlds-is-most-watched-paramount-star-trek-original-ceo-says-franchise-just-getting-started/
And it still wasn’t enough to save them.
>What we were doing worked really well
>Better change it up next season
Fricking idiots
Even if we assume that SNW is the most popular show on, the issue is that Paramount is way bigger than just one star trek show. They're losing money every day on their streaming service with no end in sight. Its a genuinely dire situation for the company.
>guy whose company is failing says everything's great
Sad. Many such cases.
PR spin.
SNW is unwatched and strictly for pirating.
I watch it only because I vigorously hate myself.
You're out of your mind zoomie.
I'm gen x, moron.
>SNW is kino
oh so you're not a kid you're just a fricking tasteless pleb, righto
Paramount the company has issues, but Paramount + and the shows on it are doing really well. This is literally why Netflix is looking at them so hard.
If the shows were doing good, the company wouldn’t be in trouble. And they’re not doing good by any metric. Picard S3 was the only NuTrek season to even scratch the Nielsen Top 10 list.
Rest assured, Netflix WILL reboot the franchise again. Maybe with Matalas at the helm.
But Kurtzman’s reign of terror is coming to an end at last.
Paramount is not just a streaming company, you absolute loony toon. They're one of the old Big 5 Studios and they are into everything. This is not about your incel Star Trek drama.
Where are you getting your news? Doomwiener?
>Where are you getting your news? Doomwiener?
The oracle Omaha, Mr. Warren Buffett himself. https://www.benzinga.com/amp/content/31814943
Feel free to keep inhaling copium but Paramount WILL be sold before the end of the year. And if it won’t be sold, it’ll be forced to withdraw from the streaming market because they’re losing record amounts of money.
I know they will be sold, they've been restructuring their company for that for years, but that's not because of the performance of Paramount +. Save the bullshit for your superchats.
>not because of the performance of Paramount+
They’ve spent ungodly amounts of money on it and it’s yet to turn a profit. Majority of the users don’t even pay for it either because of T-Mobile bundles or bugged neverending trial accounts. Their revenue actually started to decline last quarter which led to the stock price dropping like 50% because the numbers are just that fricking grim.
The colossal failure of Paramount+ will go down in textbooks as one of the greatest examples of delusion in an oversaturated market.
Source: Trust me bro.
>Source: Trust me br-ACK
Do you still not understand that Paramount the company and Paramount + are not the same thing yet? Why is this so hard for you to understand? Are you like twelve?
Why do so called leftists simp for giant corporations?
Why are you literally moronic? You have an entire board for this. Shut up you idiot
They literally publish their revenue and profit figures in quarterly report. You know you can just go on their websites and download those in full and just see that they're mlosing money on streaming? They've laid on huge amounts of people in the last year as well.
>talk to people in real life and you'll quickly find almost everyone is subscribed to Paramount+ and Disney+.
Which is worrying since despite that fact they're losing money. That's the issue.
>Paramount Global revenue for the twelve months ending March 31, 2023 was $30.091B, a 5.58% increase year-over-year. Paramount Global annual revenue for 2022 was $30.154B, a 5.49% increase from 2021. Paramount Global annual revenue for 2021 was $28.586B, a 13.06% increase from 2020.

https://ir.paramount.com/static-files/73058afe-92c5-4456-a600-4a79d83cb168
This is saying it's grown lol.
it says they lost over 500 million dollars on streaming last year anon. In a single quarter.
>last year
>not new
>a company with billions of dollars loses a few
The cope lol.
Q1 2023 has an increase of 12% in their reported losses. That means they're losing money at a faster rate as their revenue increases. Share price tanked by 30% in a single day on that announcement and they announced 25% layoffs for the entire company later that week.
Wrong board, schizo. Whats crazy is you couldve started a /trek/ general in Cinemaphile and helped us push for a board but youd rather scream at people on the same team about how were enemies because
>le israelite
Shill anon BTFO
Paramount+ is not doing well at all. Yeah its growing but its not turning a profit and its not even close to doing so. Same with Disney+ yeah they've got a bazillion subscribers they're also losing billions of dollars every year on it. Doesn't matter if Mandalorian is the most streamed show on every platform. Doesn't matter how well Elemental does in the box office or streaming afterwards. They're still spending more money than they're getting in.
Its all public information you can read for youself in their investor reports.
What kind of cope do you /misc/tards have to form in your head to believe this? Go touch grass, talk to people in real life and you'll quickly find almost everyone is subscribed to Paramount+ and Disney+.
I don't know anyone IRL that watches nu-trek.
I don't know anyone IRL who watches Star Trek at all, what's your point?
they're worthless except for the library
rip that apart piece by piece and the studio is valued at maybe $100 million
also these non-sequitur threads are ads designed to create "brand impressions" which paramount then claims are expressions of genuine demand for their products when courting advertisers
>rip that apart piece by piece and the studio is valued at maybe $100 million
You do mean thousand right?
they still own quite a few tv channels and legacy real estate
it's interesting seeing each company use a different strategy in these studio wars:
>disney - pure attrition, hope the other companies burn out first and buy them one by one
>universal - franchise deals with the regular tentpole that can be tied into their parks
>sony - don't even play the game, just produce content and license to other networks
>wb - new projects based on their huge back catalog (this is what paramount claims to want to be)
>paramount - attempt to manipulate the market with a huge number of free trials and spam threads to falsify demand for their brands
>we
lmao they're not paying you; you're doing it for free.
You are right but holy frick imagine being a gatekeeping homosexual for nutrek. You should both have a nice day.
>I don’t watch Trek
>my opinion is valid
kys OP
>You didn't watch thousands of episodes before watching a new show so your opinion is invalid
this but unironically, dumbass. now report to the nearest transporter room for execution and replacement with an exact duplicate.
This is why gatekeeping should still be a thing. To keep gays like you out.
You genuinely have a mental illness and need help.
wasnt that the fricking Menagerie? from TOS?
S1 was okay barring the demonic troony episode. I noped out of S2 after all the clit-splaining the bridge bawds did to the techs and the replacement of the best character in the show with some geriatric hag.
That's what Star Trek is.
Anyone else annoyed with how they've handled Gorn?
Very. I wish it was just a completely new show with all new characters and stuff. Every time they bring up something from past trek it’s always terrible and handled poorly.
what'd they do?
They made them into some xenomorph horror boogy man instead of just another aggressive sentient species. Think reavers in the Firefly universe.
:/
Turned them into the Xenomorphs from the Aliens series. Also gave them thermal vision like the Predator.
Eh, not really. It was a laughable rubber suit race in TOS. What important lore are they violating honestly?
If you wanna moan about the new hip crew and Spock being a different character then fair enough.
well its like if the xenos in alien were also building interstellar spacecraft in between rampaging around and killing everything that moves
I dont get the issue. We never saw how Gorn reproduced in TOS and any revelations on the subject in games or books arent canon. I dont think were meant to believe thats what adult gorn piloting a ship look like ots just one of potentially many ways a geneticlly modified living weapon figured out to reproduce and kill prey at the same time
the entire thing with SNWs handling of the Gorn is open ended so that they don't commit to anything specific going forward.
For example when the Enterprise engages a Gorn vessel, we don't actually know why the Gorn are doing what they're doing. People on the Enterprise just assume that its some predator thing and sees every thing the Gorn does in the most negative light possible and its almost entirely driven by one traumatized crewmate
When they encounter baby Gorn all we really see a baby gorn which is simply not some feeble little infant that has to be cared for by its mother, trying to survive. If SNW actually is smart about what they do going forward they'll paint the gorn in a more sympathetic light where the federation simply learns from its flawed assumptions and negative experience to co-exist with this race.
We didn't need to see the Gorn at all, and the Gorn being generic Alien ripoffs doesn't do the show any favors.
could be like the Xindi, where there's different kinds of Gorn, but instead of "reptile" "bird" "ape" etc. it's different kinds of lizard people, some of whom were dipped in the black goo from Prometheus.
also Kirk said "I face the creature the Metrons called a Gorn", not "oh yeah that's a Gorn alright"
The obvious implication was that they'd never encountered the Gorn at all.
I thought Strange New Worlds was supposed to be the good Nu Trek
does this mean they all suck
>does this mean they all suck
Yes. There was a glimmer of hope after S1 of SNW and S3 of Picard that some adults might be working to run it like an actual business but one episode of S2 SNW and it's pretty clear the kids are still throwing a tantrum.
>run it like an actual business
why are you still not getting that the entertainment "business" is dead?
No the business is alive and well it has just shifted from selling a product that consumers want to buy to selling a product that will get them a high enough ESG score to get loans from globohomo.
>its still alive its just completely different
... they latched onto the ESG teat because they can't draw a large audience in the current climate. its also seeming like they never could, and the industry only ever existed because of a large captive audience.
I'm pretty sure every Trek series has at least one legal drama episode. TOS had three: the one where Scotty was accused of murder, the one where Kirk was tried over breaking out Pike, and the one where Kirk was tried over the red alert call where the guy faked his death
If you ever wondered what an unfun episode of Ally McBeal would look like, Strange New Worlds got you covered!
>White female needs help with immigration
>white male ally hires strong black female defense attorny
>Almost blows it
>White Male vulcan charges her with violating code 614-617 and almost destroys her
>strong black female lawyer activates her trap card Starfleet Code 8514
>Strong black female wins
>everyone is happy, no one flies the ship
Now do something useful with the 50 minutes I saved you
This, you forgot the part where "DID YOU KNOW THERE WAS A CAPTAIN OF THE ENTERPRISE BEFORE PIKE? NO NOT ARCHER, HE"S BLAAAAAAC.."
Measure of a man is a million times better as far at Trek's space court episodes go. Frick even that dumb DS9 one where the Klingons try to extradite Worf is a million times better.
Star Trek strange new worlds appear to be the new Star Trek discovery
Gay couple in episode 1
New binary officer in episode 1
The famous skirt does not exist in this Nu Star Trek, female officers need to dress like men
Lesbian officers on the bridge
Transgender actress to play a villain in the first season
They really can't help themselves can they? At this point someone should just come along and make a trek clone without all the whole shit. You can't tell me they wouldn't make money hand over fist if they did that
Have you watched "The Orville"?
I can and will tell you they wouldn't make money hand over fist. Because they can't. They even tried with the orville and it was almost immediately strangled by current year politics, because the writers literally can't help themselves.
>Gay couple in episode 1
>New binary officer in episode 1

>Transgender actress to play a villain in the first season
Oh I had forgotten about the Space pirate captain Feminine Penis
Treasure is not even his favorite sort of booty...
All of that is fine in the Lefty utopia of Star Trek. It's very gene roddenberry...well except for the lack of skirts.
Netflix is buying Paramount soon anyway so none of this Kurtzman shit matters anymore.
I'd be hilarious if they done something even worse but most likely they'll just do something stupid like order a remaster of the first season of DS9 and then wonder why it failed and then never do more.
buying a Hollywood studio is suicide right now. they're leveraged to frick and back and their valuation is completely artificial.
Netflix owing all the IP Paramout has is a legit threat to the big studios. Now Netflix doing the live action Avatar show makes a bit more sense. If its a big hit expect talks to actually start and for it to happen because Paramount wants to sell.
>show called strange new worlds
>they do not visit ONE strange new world
>let's take a show about outter space and aliens and shit and turn it into a legal drama
Wake me up for the crossover with Lower Decks.
Literally one of the best episodes of TNG is legal drama you moron. Same for Voyager. Another dumb c**t who doesn't really watch the show, but is angry at them trying to do something new.
>paramount shill makes a moronic replybait thread because otherwise no one will talk about the recent NuTrek product
>the conversation is just anons discussing Parry+’ abysmal financial situation so he starts whiteknighting for the company
I hope you realize you won’t get to keep your job after the Netflix takeover. I’d start looking.
Take your meds, schizo.
I don't give a shit about NuTrek the fricking MMO game feels more Trek than all these shitty series.
Post hot alien waifus or let's discuss actual Trek
Wrong board, schizo. This thread is for canon television and film and holonovels there in
>the fricking MMO game feels more Trek than all these shitty series.
Shame it's a FOMO hamster wheel whale fesitval at endgame. Play through the story modes once and then quit.
Play through the story thrice*
The missions have enough choices to justify playing with different roles and factions.
Starfleet Engineer, Romulan Scientist, Klingon Tactical Officer are different enough.
But yes, stay the frick away from endgame content
You mean like how they did that in TNG?
Dude, the unaired TOS pilot got hacked up into a two part legal drama in the very first season of TOS.
They did it in DS9 as well. Voyager has a trial episode though I suppose that's more of a Rashomon effect episode.
Don't forget to watch Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+.
Season 2 Episode 2: "Ad Astra Per Aspera" will be airing shortly.
You are just jealous that your tv lawyer career isn't going as well as sassy spezz lawyer, She-Hulk.
This scene has Robert April ignore Pike's offer of a drink, and how Pike dealt with that.
>take show about space and aliens and shit and turn it into a show about the age of sail and gay holodeck adventures
all according to keikaku
Am I insane or does this look JUST like a porn parody? The ugly actors, the weird haircuts, the halloween store suits, the overexposed lightning. It looks so low budget and shitty.
Is SNW a porn parody and you are just not telling me?
Thoughts on the Lower Decks trial episode?
It was moderately amusing.
>Thoughts on the Lower Decks trial episode?
The only thoughts I have on this show is that I can’t wait for this cartoon charlatan to go back to the tollbooth once the Netflix deal finalizes.
Netflix loves stuff like Lower Decks. They would probably give him more seasons.
>Netflix loves stuff like Lower Decks. They would probably give him more seasons.
Nah. They cancelled its wildly more popular sister show, Inside Job, after just one season.
They make new ones every month, it feels like. With it already being established they'd ride it hard.
It has way too many woman and not enough men on the ship
>SNW
>strange new women
You are literally a closeted homosexual
Ship main pilot, security officer and #1 are all woman. If you can't see the Yidsney Force is female bullshit feminist propaganda here you are moronic
Its not propoganda. Women are graduating with better marks and higher numbers in scientific fields. Denial of this statistical fact is literal schizophrenia. You are a simpleton self loathing gay man taking your love for men out on women as hate
>Women are graduating with better marks and higher numbers in scientific fields.
With reduced standards and preferential treatment.
You arent even smart enough to see how pitiful you are. Through the entire history of the human race women have been sex slaves and now theyre free and your incel ass just cannot cope lmfao kys
The mask slips once again, I see.
You arent saying anything. You literally have schizophrenia
>entire history of the human race women have been sex slaves
And somehow a race of slaves was actually superior all along. Sounds like YA bullshit.
This dude is complaining about the tomboy pilot, femdom security girl and fricking Mystique. They literally put a b***h on the bridge to cover every desire including that old gem jungle fever yet still you complain like only the mightiest of homosexuals would.
What indeed.
Remind me, how much of a season took that episode?
>how much of a season took that episode?
Oh great , the ESL is back.
Watch this
impressive
Protip: Whenever someone asks you what "good" means, just accept that they haven't even thought about this themselves and found anything resembling a personal truth they can live with. Instead just accept that you're dealing with a person who has no integrety or moral code at all and wouldn't hesitate to eat your flesh.
if you actually watch star slop and didn't run for the hills from it years ago, the problem is you for being a brain damaged moron frick.
there's hasn't been a trek show after enterprise I don't know what fan show this is
You are literally a moron with a tick
I don't know what your post means but you should probably take your meds
That poster says the se thing over and over for years on end. This is spam. He is literally moronic. Lurk more
There are some dedicated anons in this community.
>Trek ended long enough ago to buy a gun and shoot those that blaspheme against Trek canon, my right wing blog has clearly stated this FACT 1,488 times... (shakes walker)
Star Trek should be for everyone!
Indeed it should,fren.
>schizo delusions
Real Trekkies get more great New Trek. So, we are the winners.
Ain't that the truth
Why are Freemasons so desperate for me to think about outer space all the time? Bluebeam?
Yes. Hate the Xenos.
Shouldn't this be posted about in the general?
This is the general
It's not formatted.
It never bothers you when its an old trek organic becoming new. Gatekeep my butthole with your mouth Seth
You don't know the first thing about my stance on thread torch-passing.
What are your thoughts on todays 270 push?
I never advocate for new before the 290 mark and never rec it before we're @ 310. I like to give OP 20 posts to work with.
I like linking earlier because it seems to keep the old thread alive longer resulting in a greater number of total posts. If you link at 290 its usually dead before 310. 270 yeilded 320 with four active organics
Captain Angel more like Captain ACKgel.
remember lads. this show has a very progressive messsage.
IF YOU LIVE IN THE FIFTIES!

RACISM IS VERY VERY BAD

Also not new. Shes one of Pikes girlfiends and shes at his house when he gets recalled in the first ep
>just chopping vegetables and washing the dirty dishes in my quarters on a star trek starship
*sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif*
mmmm
jamba
LAYA
Mike Fricklasa is wrong about 99% of everything But his analysis of Star trek is spot-on. Strange new worlds is gay as shit because all crew members lack basic decorum. It is essentially doesn't take its own premise seriously. When you're encountering hostile aliens every week, even a minuscule amount of hostility in your crew can be fatal.
>his analysis of Star trek is spot-on
because Mike is autistic for star trek
I swear half the people talking about SNW have never seen TOS or they'd know how stupid this shit looks. I mean just the other day I saw Scotty bum rush a Greek GOD on an away mission which led to an ensign getting raped in an open field but NOOOooooo Ortegas asked Pike to clarify a dangerous order, this b***h is a loose canon and has no place on the crew.
>Netflix is probably going to buy Paramount soon
So this is the last season of NuTrek under current management, right? Is the nightmare finally ending?
>Is the nightmare finally ending?
Yeah i mean Netflix has such a great track record and everything what could possibly go wrong?
What's next after shit alley?
How Grilka Got Her Groove Back
If it hadn't been current year or the prospective buyer be Netflix, I might've had some hope. However I think its at least possible that Netflix might entertain the notion of a full HD remaster of Deep Space Nine and Voyager simply because Netflix has an absolute shitload of money.
I know Jessie looks young, but she is legal and that's obviously Blackagar Boltagon.
Do you think Jessie is being dogpiled right now?
Do you think the dogs are out right now?
True Trek will never return unless they start building comfy sets again. That old Seinfeld joke was right, it’s the ultimate male fantasy to be hurled through space in your comfy living room chair. I watch nutrek and it’s like I’m getting chemotherapy.
Pike has pretty fricking comfy quarters if you ask me.
>cluttered
>wall beams to stumble into
>comfy
it's no.
Why are his quarters the same size as Ten Forward?
Those are not his quarters. Its an officers lounge of comparable size to that found on TOS. You are a disingenuous wiener sucker
The captain typically has a little extra room, Pike clearly pressure Star Fleet for slightly larger quarters where he even removed some of the panels from the walls to create a larger space, as well as join adjecent quarters to fit in a kitchen so he could turn the main room into a dining hall. The result is an open air floor solution that does however mean there's structural beams sticking out here and there.
Also he opted for the 42:9 bridge view screen, because he's primarily interested in FOV rather than resolution or frame rate like Kirk and Picard are
>Doctor Ostekpi to radiology, calling Doctor Ostekpi to radiology.
Walls and floors should not have glossy monochromatic surfaces. Same problem with the bridge of this show. Glossy surfaces even hampered TNG. I'll never go back to not seeing black papers stuck on the bridge panels.
Jfc that’s such a safety hazard. TNG’s bridge didn’t have sharp corners to trip impale the crew every time they’re fired upon. If someone got killed by the randomly exploding consoles you could conceivably reach their station in the dark without fear of death.
Submarines and boats are dark inside so of the artificial lights do go out you dont go nightblind. Shut up already you are a shut in with no life experience and zero wisdom or knowledge to pass on. Stop opening your mouth its a useless practice
No submarine would be designed with mirror finish floor and walls because its just stupid.
No. It’s also a spaceship. There is no night.
Nightblindness simply refers to changes in light level rendering you blind. Theres no sublight in a submarine either chungus
Yeah
Sorry
No sunlight* in a submarine
This photo wasn't taken during an operation. Once subs submerge and they start conserving power they switch to red light.
Subs aren't spaceships.
They have most of the same problems as a sub, if not more.
Expand.
Trying to maintain an air bubbles integrity in the vacuum of space and under the immense pressures of the deep ocean are two sides of the same coin
Submarines and space ships in general have an issue if containing a small hospitable space in an otherwise inhospitable one. There is no exterior light source so you have to design the vessel itself to conserve power by default. Even if you're on a nucler submarine with hundreds of gigawatts of extra power, you don't want that power to be wasted on heat loss in copper wires going from the reaction to the transformer to the bridge or the numerous quarters dispersed throughout the ship.
yeah but star treks ships and world are modeled after them.
That's over the line, anon. I think you too realize that.
Until they have seatbelts everything is stupid.
>I'll never go back to not seeing black papers stuck on the bridge panels.
What is the meaning of this post?
TNG they had issues with the lights reflecting off the black display panels so if you pay attention you can see where they taped black paper in some shots to block the light from reflecting.
You are evil. Rivaling Alex Kurtzman himself. I am going to do amphetamines and vodka to erase this memory now.
/trek/ has some bad apples and you've just encountered one.
I wish I too could go back to a time before I learned this truth. But here we are, in knowledge. The only path forward now is the search for wisdom.
Andrew Tate hands, sign me up, that’s a based captain
dunno, i haven't watched nutrek dogshit in a long time and probably never will
thank kurtzman, you freed me of my love for star trek
SNW is alright
So is Prodigy
I'm not watching it no matter how much you piss.
Speaking of New Trek, a sneak peek at next week's all new episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds:
>Please watch our content! PLEASE!
Nah I'm good
You deserve to suffer
Why would you come to a SNW thread just to start a fight?
You're the one who's upset. Not my problem
>tfw good trek thread
>tfw bad actors and shills
No wonder your general died, there's either legit Paramount shills or ShareBlue Democrat morons who believe their own propaganda.
>they're not losing money!
>SNW isn't woke!
>women are better at everything and they're graduating and getter better jobs than others... No, there's no reason why, it's totally not the DEI/diversity push and all the disclaimers at the bottom of Job Postings on LinkedIn or Indeed about "go ahead and apply if you're a women or a 'marginalized group' bc we'll get better ESG ratings on paper"
fricking delusional
Stop feeding goyslop to that cat homosexual.
Star trek was always “woke” grognard
Theme
>Star trek was always “woke” grognard
And yet somehow it used to have a huge fanbase of diverse people from all walks of life and now it's just got troons and danger-haired fembots following it....interdasting...

DUBSMINION
Come a time....
Someday,
Someday,
Someday,
DUBSMINION!
Some say prayers...
I say mine
Anon, you disgust me.
>Star trek was always “woke” grognard
>the moral of today's episode was literally "suck the gock, bigot"
in b4 "rent free", it was as obvious what they were really talking about as when TOS did the black and white cookie people
>Star trek was always “woke”
No it wasn't you moron. It explored progressive ideas with an open mind and often offered alternative viewpoints for the viewer to ponder on. The preachy episodes were considered shit even back when it aired and they made an entire episode about Sisko being autistic over "muh racism" of the 50s and got btfod by his own crew. Moreover, writers at least tried to use scifi to talk about those themes, they wouldn't literally put fricking January 6 footage in the series
> It's different when MY show does it!
One of the weirdest DS9 episode is the one with the Vulcan supremacist calling Sisko a violent, unintelligent ape. And he’s presented ultimately correct but nobody cares because everyone just wants to plays a fun game with their friends. If it was made today he would’ve been eaten by a space balrog before the end of the episode
>One of the weirdest DS9 episode is the one with the Vulcan supremacist calling Sisko a violent, unintelligent ape. And he’s presented ultimately correct but nobody cares because everyone just wants to plays a fun game with their friends
This is the best metaphor for Nutrek haters one could have. Nutrek fans don't give a shit about your carefully crafted 255 point manifesto about how old trek is superior, they just want to watch some entertaining tv and go on with their day.
>NuTrek fans don't need consistency, only their weekly allowance of slop
You're their target audience, sadly there just aren't enough morons to keep the company afloat
It wasn’t woke it just addressed issues. Woke beats you over the head with the “correct” point of view to the effect that half the time it contradicts itself as it horseshoes to revenge porn. Even TNG’s trans episode ended with the alien’s government giving them therapy and Riker being wrong (possibly?).
Btw that episode is funny when you realize they face no repercussions for randomly beaming down to a sovereign planet and beating up therapists at a mental health facility.
Sounds like The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas episode Strange New Worlds did last season.
You aren't amused by their desperate pleading? It gets funnier with each devastating financial headline
It was a decent episode. Not as good as "Measure of a Man" but still solid. Much better than the disaster last week.
I always imagined Data's emotion chip to be similar to having BPD, an overwhelming surge of emotions you have no control over, one moment you feel miserable then suddenly you feel like you're on top of the world
It fricking sucks
>having an incurable personality disorder
Just reroll your character at that point.

>"I don't actually watch or care about Star Trek but I'm going to be mad about it because 'new thing bad'"
There's plenty to criticize about Nu Trek, but courtroom episodes are a series staple, and always have been.
In other words, have a nice day.
Anyone feel like the last season was much better than this shitshow?
When chuds liked it they became obligated to destroy it. Same is happening to Joker.
Ds9 was a political drama wasn't it, and jag was about naval court when it could've been about cool stuff
A foreign idea to Star Trek
The Strange New Worlds season 2 premiere is on YouTube.
Someone give me a shot of testosterone and a flashlight please.
i really dont get strange new worlds at all
like who is this show for?
I like it (black female shrug emoji)
what do you like about it? if this reply isnt a joke
NTA but when I watch it I get dopamine
except today's episode annoyed the shit out of me because I am a transphobic bigot or whatever.
Its more trek than dsn ever was. Idk what youbwant me to say. Its obviously good trek i dont have a delusionsl narrative on deck because indont need one
delusional narrative?
what do you mean?
transwomen.
Bankers.
Slop-addicted consooomers
It's just a standard Star Trek show that tries to keep things accessible for a new audience. That's it. It's also a TOS prequel for memberberry flavoring. At times it's a pretty good show, but it can be very annoying.
>standard Star Trek show
its not standard in a berman or roddenberry sense at all, even on a enterprise level, youd have to explain what you mean
this comment however makes sense and its something i suspected, that its just a binging show for fun like most streaming content, but outside that context it has no life
>even on a enterprise level
i should clarify, i mean enterprise the show
>its not standard in a berman or roddenberry sense at all
It's episodic sci-fi stories surrounding a diverse crew on a starship flying around space.
>binging show
But it's episodic and released weekly.
Picard is much worse about it, but SNW is still too indulgent for my tastes. Why the frick does Laan need to be a descendent of Khan? It was so long ago that she's barely even related to him (if at all, really) but the most recent episode in particular emphasizes it as if it matters. The most she has from him is a name, which sucks in the same way being Jennifer Hitler would suck, but in that case why not just drop the name? It's just there for a reference and it's dumb. Why is Kirk coming back again this season? Why the Gorn? It's annoying.
>It's episodic sci-fi stories surrounding a diverse crew on a starship flying around space.
thats not enough to make something star trek, you need to have a competent crew whose actions have consistency and believably make sense
thinking on it, i also want to add adherence to moral relativism
>you need to have a competent crew whose actions have consistency and believably make sense
It does. The dialogue is just annoying.
can you give an example, because so far i have yet to see one
>MEMBER KHAN?
>MEMBER GORNS?
>MEMBER KIRK?
>MEMBER STAR TREK?
>Why the frick does Laan need to be a descendent of Khan?
>the most recent episode in particular emphasizes it as if it matters.
that was another thing I didn't like about this episode, because they didn't actually have it matter beyond "oh I can relate to anti-augment prejudice".
like how exactly is she related to Khan, why did she keep the name, etc.? this would have been a good episode to explain some of that, but we don't know anything about her we didn't know last week.
Holy shit, I just realized I actually really might not like almost any of the movies, along with SNW of course for separate reasons
Wrath of Kahn sucked as bad as "Best of Both Worlds" on TNG for me. I'm not fond of generic war plots that are basically about nothing. The Dominion War in DS9 is the only exception to this because it was earned
>The Dominion War in DS9 is the only exception to this because it was earned
Until it became extremely moronic, unfortunately.
She's presumably a direct descendant, but after so many generations that wouldn't really be reflected beyond the name, so the genetic engineering angle in particular is hardly cogent.
Yeah, she said she was a direct descendant in this episode.
But how does that even happen? Right after the Eugenics Wars, you'd think any relatives of Khan who didn't frick off into space would've been hunted down or hid their identity so well La'an wouldn't know about it until a plot twist at some point in SNW would reveal it. Like if she'd been on trial in this episode instead of Number One.
>memberberry flavoring
it still has f members than PICARD season 3
>What if got rid of the gays and hired hot actresses, instead of Tilly-likes
What were they thinking?
That's hot to you? She looks like an ancient Chinese eunuch
That's certified hot, have you been diagnosed with homosexuality?
No, that must be why she isn't hot to me. Good luck with your sexual confusion

Aus Der Reihe: Derrick was also a similar form of this. Its basically propaganda for ideologys of ptb
You chuds spend a lot of time complaining about a show that you've never even watched. Some of the best episodes of Trek have taken place in a courtroom of some sort.
