Setting, ancient Egypt except with Asians and Latinxs in addition to black people (it IS in Africa, after all) but no whites because that would be triggering. The villain is, of course, a Trump stand-in. A the princess is trans.

I am open to a cute femboy princess but I'm saving that for the sequel

Okay then she must be a lesbian. We need this movie set in ancient Egypt to reflect modern American sensibilities in order to maximize audience appeal.
It should be about climate change. After all, nobody knows what happened to the Egyptians so maybe it was climate that wiped them out.

But if it's ancient, what is their vaxx status? This could be problematic

Ooh. I like this. Wasn’t there something in that silly fantasy book that Christians read about plagues in Egypt? What if they’ve created a vaccine against it, but a subset of ignorant, selfish, racist bigots refuses to take it and the Drumpf (lol) stand-in is their leader? OH! Let’s blow people’s minds and make the “princess” the actual queen (well female King) who is co-ruler with her wife!

I'd rather have a Sisunday thread

I remember literally nothing about Raya, like fricking *nothing* so that's not possible

Who's Raya? I only love Sisu.

It was shockingly bad. From the off putting self aware intro narration (I know what you’re thinking “another girl in the post apocalypse”) to the girl bosses letting the audience know they’re basically the same, shit character (we both like to learn sword fighting, not girly things). If the only people who care about it are fluffy dragon coomers, that’s better than it deserves but hey, to each their own.

Well i did have an idea for a fairy tale about a princess and her giant.
Also, how did the Cinemaphile thread go?

Then why not make it yourself?

I really liked the hip hop idea of a classic greentext .
Princess who can't sing. But turns out she can rap.

A campy and bouncy 60s space musical adventure inspired by retro futurism

I'm somewhat on board with that. Here's my idea so far:
MC is an early 20s girl, with short hair, generally kind of wienery but also lovably incompetent. Her dad was the CEO of an extremely successful intergalatic mining company but died mysteriously years earlier. In his will, he wanted his daughter to run the company once she was 20 and planned on her being the heir anyway. She's a human with a human brain, but also a tricked out cyborg, like 90% robot (like most high ranking officials in this world). She didn't choose any of this but she reluctantly has been studying and training to take this position. Book smart, street stupid. Playful and funny, but a bit careless.

Anyway there's a bad guy out there who's just a bad guy with no moralistic BS, suave guy with a frank sinatra voice and jazzy musical numbers, he's the guy who killed her father, she has to go out on a mission for some reason with a totally stoic 100% human working class guy who's her love interest.

The first song is going to be like when will my life begin, but instead of her being sad about being trapped, she's expressing concern for whether she's even fit to lead anything and whether she cares about her dad's empire, who she has mixed feelings about.

Story ends with the stoic dude finally making a move on her, she falls in love, they kill the bad guy, she learns to love her family and home even with their flaws, and it doesn't have an extremely jaded message. And the music has a lot of synths.

Working on the first song now.

Let's have a film based on The Marsh King's Daughter. We'll get our Egyptian elements as well as a Egyptian princess, but the big draw is our first "villainous" type of princess who redeems herself at the end
