I still don't know why people use letterboxd. I thought it had an algorithm that would recommend you movies based on your ratings, but it's just social media.
I use it simply to remember what films I watched and how good they were so there's have a list to consult when I want to rewatch good films with people who haven't seen them yet. I wouldn't trust any algorithm that tried to recommend films, just watching films from directors you like is more reliable.
Are you brain damaged? I never said I forget that I watched something. But when you're a fan of film you watch a lot of them in a year. Can you off the top of your head list all the films you watched in 2018? You can only do this if you're a pleb who watches 5-10 films in a year.
If someone asks me for recommendations for Japanese films or European films from 1940-1980 it's useful to have a list of what I've seen. I can only remember the best and most memorable ones instantly. At some point there's too many good ones to have in permanent memory.

letterboxd back in 2014-2015 used to mainly be filled with anons from Cinemaphile. somewhere along the line tumblr and eventually film twitter caught wind of the site and it's been downhill ever since. it doesn't help that the mods seem to be on the freak's side, which was apparent when they added pronouns to the site, but it's gotten to the point where you can get banned for saying anything even slightly controversial in their eyes. hence why all reviews on What is a Woman? are STILL FRICKING BANNED over a year later. you used to be able to get gems like this in the reviews section, but these have all been nuked. at the very least, I have seen a small community of Christian film reviewers growing on the site. one of their lists talking about all the films they will never see (mainly gay/commie propaganda) was even in the popular lists section a couple weeks ago. it really sucks that letterboxd still has the best UI for a film logging site, because the community is absolute cancer

I even made a comment on one of these reviews, calling out a reviewer for being soooo original for bringing gayness into the movie where there is none, and 5 minutes later when I opened the app again I was logged out because I had already been banned by the mods, kek.

letterboxd back in 2014-2015 used to mainly be filled with anons from Cinemaphile. somewhere along the line tumblr and eventually film twitter caught wind of the site and it's been downhill ever since. it doesn't help that the mods seem to be on the freak's side, which was apparent when they added pronouns to the site, but it's gotten to the point where you can get banned for saying anything even slightly controversial in their eyes. hence why all reviews on What is a Woman? are STILL FRICKING BANNED over a year later. you used to be able to get gems like this in the reviews section, but these have all been nuked. at the very least, I have seen a small community of Christian film reviewers growing on the site. one of their lists talking about all the films they will never see (mainly gay/commie propaganda) was even in the popular lists section a couple weeks ago. it really sucks that letterboxd still has the best UI for a film logging site, because the community is absolute cancer

Disingenuous post. We wouldn't care if gays and trannies used it. Most people don't give a frick about gays and trannies. The problem is gays and trannies are so mentally ill they cannot help but force upon us the fact that they're gays and trannies. It is the gays and trannies that enter a group and talk about how that group is so bad because they don't censor themselves just so the mentally ill gays and trannies aren't offended because an 80s movie character pointed and laughed at a fat b***h or some shit. If they kept discussion geared towards, you know, the actual content of the movie, and stopped talking about their gay shit or how this or that is offensive, most people wouldn't give a frick.
