It became my nightly routine in 2002/2003 to watch this show when I ate dinner after work, but I think it was the last season, because they were on Earth, and I just kind of pieced the backstory together through dialogue.

it's very weird show but cool
It felt extremely European to me. I think I probably watched all of it and that's the strongest impression I have. The quirkiness hovers between amusing and annoying, the characters do eventually become more likeable. The show kinda runs out of things to do and gets bogged toward the end.
this is why I am asking for another show to watch.

Wow. I see that you mean, it's a really narrow genre. Sexy+campy high concept sci-fi with limited budget. With budget, you get something like "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets", which wasn't good but was interesting. I remember thinking that "Tripping the Rift" was a slightly inferior substitute to Lexx, but only because the were somehow both running at the same time. They are otherwise nothing alike. I was a degenerate coomer. Still, but yes.
