One of the things that irked me the most was how they completely cut out Sam setting up the rice challenge. Instead of showing Sam pour the bags of rice into places, especially the last one where he just tossed it onto the door, it just cuts into contestants already counting. Why did they decide to cap the edits at 30 minutes? They could easily bump them to an hour and not sacrifice as much context. The 30 minute cuts pacing is kinda shit. The caminos drop shipping bit jammed in toward the end was a weird choice. If the cut were an hour moments like that could have more room to breathe within the narrative they’re trying to convey.

I’ve been an mde fan since the early days and I’ve definitely noticed a divide among old heads and newer mde viewers over fishtank. A couple of my friends hate fishtank with a passion, so much so that they’re now vying for world peace 2 to fail. I thought fishtank was cool for what it is. The live/interactive elements were interesting to say the least and the cast created a handful of genuinely compelling moments while it was all going down. I don’t know why it’s such a divisive topic for people. One of the things that irked me the most was how they completely cut out Sam setting up the rice challenge. Instead of showing Sam pour the bags of rice into places, especially the last one where he just tossed it onto the door, it just cuts into contestants already counting. The caminos drop shipping bit jammed in toward the end was a weird choice. If the cut were an hour moments like that could have more room to breathe within the narrative they’re trying to convey.

I’ve been an mde fan since the early days and I’ve definitely noticed a divide among old heads and newer mde viewers over fishtank. A couple of my friends hate fishtank with a passion, so much so that they’re now vying for world peace 2 to fail. I thought fishtank was cool for what it is. The live/interactive elements were interesting to say the least and the cast created a handful of genuinely compelling moments while it was all going down. I don’t know why it’s such a divisive topic for people. It may appeal more to zoomie sensibility, but that’s a good thing because at the end of the day it’s probably better they engage with fishtank than whatever other kind of garbage is available for them online.
