Like anon said, people love to hate on this movie, but Blair Witch is one of only two movies that's actually literally frightened me. The other one was Antichrist.
its very dated, but as the progenitor(?, was it the first idk) of found footage movies it was definitely great during its time.
the concept has been done way better since then, multiple times.
>the concept has been done way better since then, multiple times.
there's not one single other found footage film that even attempts to be as authentic as BWP is. foh
It was the first of it's kind, in addition to people not being able to debunk it cause we had no internet. I remember i couldn't sleep the night after watching it, i was so terrified. Think i was 12 or 13.
>scary
Unless you've already been to Burkittsville before and know it's the dullest little town in Maryland without any eldritch terrors or forests you could actually get lost in
They used to have a cool clothing factory there at the time
But yeah it's a fauxnd-footage flick about morons without antihistamines
People hate on it but it's legitimately my favorite scary movie.
Hereditary was better
that's a family drama
HAIL PAMON
idiot

I liked both installments and I am not afraid to say it. I didn't really care for the new reboot.
it wasn't scary
that's why they like it i guess
You forgot REC 1&2
2 is garbage and totally unnecessary
(zombie movie)
(scary)
is he standing in a corner holy frick im going insane
Earlier in the movie they establish that Parr made one kid stand in the corner while he killed (raped and killed? i forget) the other one first.
>nature is the scariest shit woods and caves sheeeit frfr id cry bruh
Are you a zoomer by chance

These people can't stand their own thoughts, that's why they need to live in highly populated areas with no silence around.

How is it dated?
Maybe anon means the fact that a lot of the movie was shot on DV.
It's basically just a worse phone, it still works
The Exorcist is scarier
>who are you quoting?
Signs was pretty scary
The Descent sucked. It had potential but went to shit after they revealed the monsters.
This. Monster movies are scary if you’re from the silent gen or 3 years old roooofl
As Above So Below is way better.
I think it's a better concept, but Blair Witch is better executed imo
Loved this one, reminded me of the NES wizards and warriors games.
Mothman Prophecies as well
yeah this didn't hold up well and should be left in the closet with your Manson and Korn CDs where it belongs
jacobs ladder scared the shit out of me the first time i saw it
Why was this movie such a cultural phenomenon when it released? So many things referenced and parodied it
Other than The Last Broadcast, it was one of the first found footage horrors.
Cannibal Holocaust had a bit of that I think. The film makers had to prove they didn't kill the actors in court.
It was the first of it's kind, in addition to people not being able to debunk it cause we had no internet. I remember i couldn't sleep the night after watching it, i was so terrified. Think i was 12 or 13.
It'd one of the most real life looking like they just shot some video and not turn it into a movie
