Live Action Tangled

>With the huge successes of live action remakes of classic Disney animated movies such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella and The Jungle Book, Disney looks to be once again reaching into its back catalog for another new version of a classic tale, with a new version of Rapunzel aka Tangled.

>According to the DisInsider, Disney has hired Ashleigh Powell, who previously worked on Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, to write the script. And the film is going to be produced by Michael De Luca (who previously worked on Captain Phillips) and Kristin Burr (who has worked on Christopher Robin and Cruella).

>Other executive producers involved in the film include Zoe Kent who is working on the upcoming live-action Lilo and Stitch for Disney+ and Jessica Virtue, who is just finishing up work on the new live action version of Mulan.

>No director is yet attached to the project but Disney is currently looking for one.

I think it's a wonderful idea for Disney to keep doing live action remakes with each one they increase the audience burnout. Not to mention it keeps Disney busy and unable to try new BAD ideas. Could you imagine say Disney adapting a new European Fairy Tale and doing it all WRONG? Like sprinkling Leftist agenda shit like Feminism? Because that's what you would get. I sooner prefer refried leftovers like the incoming race swapped feminism Snow White because it will never erase the original over a new idea done terribly.

That's not how it works dude. Companies announce multiple movies and work on them at the same time so by the time some of the movies fail the others are well into production so it's a matter of completing production so the money isn't wasted.

And most of these Disney live action trash sadly are successful. Most of them earn a profit.

That hasn't been the case since the Lion King remake, they've been seeing diminishing returns since. There's a reason even this article is only noting the early successes Disney had, because these LA films are only barely scraping by now.

Nick got his movie stolen from him. Nick was supposed to be the protagonist but Disney is a Girl Company so they forced Judy to be the protagonist and she is a shitty character. Only idiots think Judy is a good character.

He was alawys fricked you shit heads. He's a good for nothing idiot emasculated loser butt monkey laughingstock who every single bad thing happens him and inexplicably he wins the heart of the hottest woman in the story. Come on. Eugene is so shit he makes Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon seem badass. Every single thing Eugene does in Tangled blows up in his face, he thought he could betray the Stabbington brothers and was surprised they wanted revenge on him, he thought he could go into a bar of criminals and those criminals would serve his purpose it was Rapunzel who saved him there, Eugene repeatedly got his ass beaten by Rapunzel, the chameleon, the horse, and he's such a loser a frail old woman with wrinkles killed him off. No no no....

Eugene is everything WRONG about how male characters are written in the west. Compare Eugene with Disney's Aladdin. Eugene and Aladdin are both thieves, but Aladdin is actually GOOD at being a thief and he is streets smart and is allowed to be more capable because the writers from the 90s did not have an anti male agenda. That's what sabotaged Eugene and always rendered him as shit. So you are dead wrong when you say he was the last good Disney male because I assure you no boy ever looked up to a failure like Eugene.

I like how they didn't have the king be wearing his crown in the last scene. It's a good detail. Not like in Shrek 2, where that king wears his crown for the whole film even if it's midnight.

Why did he wear the crown at such an hour? At least take it off before going to have a talk with your insecure son-in-law.

More souless live action remakes? embracing AI to make souless shit? (not anti-ai but it's clear Disney's going to use it to make cheap shit)

actually now that I typed that out, did people have these similar feelings during the Direct to DVD era? I was too young to really think about it (Return to Neverland was fun tho)

The Direct to DVD era at least had SOME originality and SOME good ideas. The third Cinderella movie was a gem, for example.

I suppose yeah. I just remember during the turn of the 2010s people were giving them flak.

It's the weirdest thing. Pretty sure the movie's available on streaming for 'free' too (not like amazon where you have to pay for the streaming service and then pay for the movies on it)

I don't want Tangled I want live action Frozen with a black lesbian Elsa just to really hurt the more younger generation of shitty young women right now. That's the big one. I want a race swapped Elsa who is the calling of a generation and bonus if she's a lesbian just to hurt women. Come on Disney you can do it. You can do BAD ideas.

Also anyone else hoping Moana, Hercules, Bambi, and Lilo and Stitch fail? I know Snow White is an automatic failure but these others are the incoming live action films. And I also want Elio, Wish, Inside Out 2, Zootopia 2, Toy Story 5, and Frozen 3 to fail.
