>Ultimate Goblin's fricking with him nowadays but he's way less of a threat compared to what he was when he was fighting Peter and he's just hired muscle for Ultimatum

>He has a girlfriend that also isn't cucking him with PAUL (BOYFRIEND)

Should he go through hardships like Peter? I see him pretending he's the Fresh Prince when in reality he's Carlton Banks and that pisses me off.

They won’t. Because the current young generation is being used for movies and tv shows and other IP branding.

The thing is, Miles worked in the frickery that was Ultimate Marvel after Pete got killed. He was a kid learning the ropes of becoming Spider-Man and having to fill those shoes. He has no redeeming features in 616, and having him be a teen that suddenly is part of the Avengers and is super beloved feels like skipping the whole learning curve in favor of making him popular.
And Bendis writing him always gave me these weird overprotective vibes. Like he simply couldn't allow anything serious or nasty happening to Miles.

Anywho, Miles' hate is well deserved. The writers have been doing a very poor job with him because they just want to write 'has Pete's stuff buy is a black person'
There's ways to do an origin that isn't a complete ripoff. To do alternate fighting styles. To change up the formula, but Miles was designed as lazily as possible.
Miles' biggest anchor is that he was 'created' by Bendis instead of someone who cared.

Why do that when Peter has been telling his own stories young and old for 60 years now without issues. I can't remember if it's from an actual comic or just something I read in a fanfic somewhere, but I remember Peter saying that he chose the red and blue scheme to make himself appear less intimidating. If you were a small child trapped in a burning building or a woman about to get raped, you might not be inclined to follow a guy dressed all in black like a burglar or something, as opposed to someone wearing a Captain America-style bright colorful superhero™ outfit. It's part of cultivating the "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" image, to help offset most peoples' "Eww, gross" reaction towards spiders.

That's not really in character for him, also Otto literally stole his body, ruined his relationships, and had a horrible evil past. He actively engaged and help him more than Miles. I can't comprehend how anybody think that Peter should hate Miles when he don't even hate his clone Ben.
Miles is just a alternate universe refugee, that he only work with during multiverse crossovers. No 616 comic writers attempted to build a relationship with Peter and Miles that is not work related.

Ignoring that he did hate Ben at first and they grew close throughout the clone saga, Beyond literally starts with Peter being pissy that Ben wants to be Spider-Man again.
And Ben has a much stronger claim to call himself Spider-Man than Miles does which is why Peter concedes and gives Ben his blessing

          >That's not really in character for him
So you're saying that Pete is totally cool with random people taking on his identity to fight his foes and wouldn't feel any sense of responsibility or guilt about it?
          >Otto literally stole his body, ruined his relationships, and had a horrible evil past. He actively engaged and help him more than Miles.
          Slott wrote shit, yes.
          >I can't comprehend how anybody think that Peter should hate Miles when he don't even hate his clone Ben.
Ben's shit too, but at least Ben went 'Scarlet Spider'.
If I remember right he was Scaret Spider first, then went Spider-man when Pete stopped for a while.

But those are all pretty minor issues when Miles' comics' problem is that the writing is lazy and he's not relatable.

I read Miles's comics when he was still relatively recent. Even as a kid I never understood his appeal. Bendis never made the character standout in anyway. If the only reason he's popular is because of ethnicity, then that's pathetic. Static is a genuinely good teen hero who actually faces hardship. He isn't liked simply because he's black, but because he's a good character.

It's the classic "buh why doesn't bruce wayne give away all his money to stop crime" type take. The kind of bias that could very easily be disproven but being repeated so long means it's basically mainstream now.

                Anonymous

He is literally called the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in most media he gets adapted in. The MCU calls him that way all the times, so normalgays should know. The only ones who don't know are Miles' writers and his fanboy trannies who have never read a single book about Spider-Man. Miles literally never helps the neighborhood in his own films. Just goes on villain hunts that are in his immediate proximity and stops multiverse explosions

                Anonymous

Like I said, it's a bias and they don't really care for the material. They reason they shit on Batman with those takes despite much evidence to the contrary is because he's rich white billionaire and that archetype being portrayed as a heroic individual makes them seethe. Hence why we now get stuff like "Thomas and Martha Wayne were actually super corrupt/indifferent and this vaguely justifies them getting shot lel eat the rich". They can't quite drag Peter down the same way because he's still mostly portrayed as being poor as shit most of the time, but that won't stop them from trying to have Miles one-up him in the whole "friendly neighbourhood" aspect. Expect that kind of take to eventually catch on in canon at some point.

The shit that bothers me with this is how the Maguire and Garfield movies have the city celebrate Spider-Man in the same way Metropolis celebrates Superman. To them, he’s the #1 hero. The comics just shit on him and act like he doesn’t matter when he’s the one who would go out of his way to help out the little guy. Also doesn’t help that Spider-Man started at the same time as the F4 and X-Men while also pre-dating the Avengers.

              >trans gwen not real
              >keeps interracial meme alive, twittershits lose their fricking minds over being "baited"
alternatively they could just dodge the whole thing by making a seperate trans spider character but that "wouldn't be enough" by modern standards and also the bait to be spiteful and do gwen just because people don't like it is clearly there

There's a second layer to this that's quieter but also funny. Trans characters are usually portrayed as either realistically (ugly) or attractive but androgynous. I can't think of a single example of a pretty blonde white girl ending up as trans and a lot of pretty blonde white girls like Gwen. I'm interested in seeing the reaction there if the trans stuff ends up being canon to spiderverse ie the only Miles/Gwen stuff that really matters.

The responses to being called are for this moronation are better.
            >To all the people saying that this also fits Peter. It did. But since 2011, Marvel has been moving Peter away from the friendly neighbourhood hero role and has been shifting into a spot that’s best described as the middle ground between Daredevil and the Fantastic Four to the point that he is just no longer a street level character. Even the book called “Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man” had its opening arc revolve around Peter discovering an underground copy of New York that almost went to war with the surface world. That isn’t street level.
            >I’ve been reading comics including Spider-Man ones for 12 years and I never said anything that contradicts Peter originating this trope but anyone who has been keeping up with Spider-Man comics would know that Peter has slowly drifted away from being a street level character over the past decade with the role he used to represent being taken over by Miles. Similar patterns have occurred with many well known comic characters. And referring to 616 Peter as a street level hero in the current status quo is like still referring to him as a teen hero.

      >new dynamic where old supervillains consider him a traitor and he has to earn the public's approval because he's literally starting from square one
"HURR MAKE THE BLACK ONE A CRIMINAL" more interesting that making him a rehash and you can actually use that to say something about inner city kids being forced into lifestyles they rarely get to escape from while being considered Uncle Toms if they do instead of a milquetoast all-encompassing "black" version of a character.

put the idea that he's an anomaly in everything, make him the de facto multiverse guy so peter can go back to normal stories. make him his own name and costume.
the idea of a hero who's wholly unique across the entire multiverse is pretty interesting, maybe destroy his original universe too so he's just a drifter

Simple. Let him be bitten by the Spider but he follows his uncle's footsteps becoming the Spider-Prowler.
      >B-But anyone can wear the mask
Yeah also anyone can wear the Prowler mask and that would fit his character way more. He could redeem a symbol that was villainous at the start.

The approach of letting him be teenage Spider-man so Pete can age up doesn't work for me. If we've already told enough of those stories for Peter, then why redo them with Miles? I would get him far away from Peter and Pete's legacy. Set him up in another city. I would make him a mercenary type who sells his superheroing to the biggest bidder around. To him, he's making sure he's getting paid so he can take care of his family and his friends. He just wants things better for his family. But it usually ends badly. He steals shit for a gang and then the rival gang hates him. He fricks up a job for a corporation and they send people to kill him. He'd be a bright kid, trying to get out of a cycle of poverty. You know how NFL players get all that money and blow it because they're surrounded by people who want the money for themselves? They give money to family members who just blow it. I would have Miles getting his powers be the equivalent of becoming professional athlete, I would use Miles to showcase how not surrounding yourself with decent people can frick you over. I'd want to drive home the lesson that you have to let go of the toxic people in your past to move forward, even if you love them.

    >WHY CANT PETER AND MJ BE MARRIED?!

Dumb take, Spidey being "defined by suffering" is a smoothbrain idea pushed hard by Marvel editorial because they literally don't want to move the character forward yet at the same time that doesn't have to mean everything is easy for him, the difference is Miles literally gets shit handed to him by virtue of existing
