I don't really care. But it does show that straight men are still the biggest consumer base since you cant really have gays on screen still.

Cinemaphile is just contrarian. If they aren't lesbian they're seething, if they are lesbian they're seething, if they are gay they're seething, etc. etc.

Lesbians don't exist if you want your show to air, you can have them date girls later but they have to show for at least the first season that they guys.

        straight in season 1
        bi beyond that

those are the rules all of these shows have run by.

Harley Quinn has a long history of loving the Joker, canonically the Dee Dees are grandkids of her and Dick Grayson. shes been attracted to Batman off and on for decades.

Korra started out straight but the show was a failef mess of writing so they made her bi at the end to try and shield themselves from criticism

Didnt watch Fowl House, just know its a dumpster fire

Just finished Owl House today. The show itself is fine, even good. But the level of homosexualry is off the charts. Two thirds of the cast is gay or non binary.

That doesn’t disprove anon’s point of the site being contrarian af. People who don’t agree don’t bother posting in threads, so the site collectively becomes contrarian by nature.

Most of the time being contrarian is good. Anytime something is popular with normies it is either shit or overrated.

Gay men having gay sex on screen. Which would be based. Way too based, even Cinemaphile couldn't handle that anymore. These fricking leftists will never have the real courage to show some classic right-wing assfricking.

Gay men unironically get sidelined in favor of lesbians constantly.

Probably because straight viewers are less grossed out by the idea of anime girls scissoring then they are two sweaty men pounding ass.

Also there are far more lesbian writers than there are gay male writers tbh

Korrasami was rushed and came out of nowhere. Korra is a psychopath and Asami is bland as toast. Idrc but that entire series was a trash fire so yk

Catra x Adora is cringe. Catra is cute, Adora is boring. Catra is also a giant nuisance so idrc.

Harley x Ivy is gay as frick and I wish they'd stop pushing it. How does Harley get away with romancing a bioterrorist given she's already on thin ice for being accessory to mass murder herself?

Amity x Luz is toxic and bad for both. Primarily Amity. She goes from a strong and determined witch to a blushing uwu servant. Her brain turns to mush and she loses all character. Everything she does or thinks is about Luz.

Saying a person stops being bisexual based on who they're dating at that very moment is like saying a person is asexual if they're not dating at all in that given moment.

Their final partners might be women, but we know one of them had an arc with a man and two of them are attracted to dudes.

          Anonymous

That’s not what I’m talking about. The characters themselves are bi, but woman on woman relationships are referred to as “lesbian” as a shorthand. Just like bi people who are in “straight” relationships are still bi. “Lesbian” refers to the relationship, not to the orientation of the individuals involved. Saying “woman on woman” is a mouthful and saying “bi relationship” is too vague

Gay men are weird and scary. All of their portrayals are “the dads” of a side character (She-Ra, Owl House, Loud House), inhuman (Helluva Boss, Ghost and Molly McGee), all about sex (Hazbin and Helluva), boring and neutered (most portrayals), or practically non-existent (Shiro)

So, fanfiction writing is the main problem? Straight relationships usually feel more arbitrary and convoluted

        Anonymous

You're right that straight relationships are often shoved in arbitrarily, just because there's a male and female character so writers assume they have to frick. Ironically it's kind of gotten the same way with lesbian relationships where if you see two female friends you can safely bet that they're gonna frick sooner than later. I say it feels like a fanfic because fanfics usually twist a character and turn them into someone else for the sake of having an epic gay relationship and turn that into the focal point of the story.

There’s still more nuance in gay relationships because they need to justify them existing. At the very least, they have a dynamic and build-up

It's always the lesbos that get the rep, so it's been there done that. Male gay reps are either background characters, fathers of main characters, or are a main character but don't have a love interest.
