after Endgame, Marvel lost all appeal and became some stupid soulless wankery like Star Trek. They're just crapping out 100 new shows that nobody fricking cares about

Not really. It started off as Easter Eggs but they organically created an overlapping story about the stones and built up to the final confrontation with Thanos. The problem was they completely abandoned that model in favour of throwing shit at a wall to see what would stick.

for most people marvel peaked and stop being interesting with the infinity war shit. after everyone faded away and we got some four hour slog of a conclusion, everyone has moved on. lol at marvel thinking we needed a hawkeye follow up, complete with a women replacement nobody cares about. we got so many shows that werent hits that the brand is no longer even relevant. replacement cap, replacement widow, replacement hawkeye, replacement captain marvels even though she only has one movie, replacement hulk with she-hulk, replacement daredevil with echo... its tiring. none of those shows were asked for and marvel were so high on their own farts that they oversaturated their own genre. should have kept it more special and not given us straight out duds like chinaman and the autistic gay gods' movies.

I'll back you on everything you wrote. But Hawkeye was the most inoffensive least woke legacy project that they did. I'd even label it as a Christmas Special. It was comfy, had action, and Hailee.

no, it was fine. but really should have been a movie at about 120 mins long. dragging it out, having yet ANOTHER girl replacement of a male character, and the shit about echo made it suffer a lot. it made us suffer too

Compared to even Moon Knight, a character I like, Hawkeye was heads and shoulders above all the other shows only by simply being average and non offensive.

You know what's funny about these new characters and arguably B+ List actors? You won't see female Hawkeye and Moon Knight until Avengers and Secret Wars is going to reboot the universe.

Embracing who you truly are! We’ve all got a little monster inside all of us, telling us who to be, we just gotta unlock it and set it free! The teacher, Miss Perryweather, asks our hero to stay after class when everyone else has left.

After discussing his failing grades and wondering if everything’s alright, he/she senses something amiss. So, he/she does what any good teacher would do! She shows off their “little monster” after class, ripping our hero’s “worldview” wide open, and begins Cory (or should I say Cora!) on a magical journey of self discovery, exploring each others bodies and challenging standard conventions about gender and identity!

They're rebooting for X-Men, which they're waiting for Fox era contracts to lapse on. Secret Wars is going to be the catalyst for the reboot. Fantastic Four is planned to survive the reboot event, and they're keeping the door open for anything else they feel still has money in its banana stand, but largely the entire point is to do the MCU as they always wanted to make which means bringing back Iron Man, Cap, etc. It's also going to permit them to go back to casting unknowns for roles to save money.
X-Men and FF + return of MCU legacy characters + world and story reboot + much cheaper cast contracts is actually a winning formula.

will now have proper showrunners that write pilots & show bibles
      >Please spoon-feed me on what this means.
Instead of just hiring some dumb c**ts who outright make a show, they're going to get writers to put forth a first script so they can judge what the project is going to be before they have more aimless She-Hulk series on their hands.
They're also going to require the writers to adhere to hard and firm world rules and maintain a consistency with themselves and the larger world they occupy, which is done by keeping a "bible" or a compendium of the canon which can be easily referenced.

        Anonymous

Has Marvel had an issue with canon, before? I think the mentioning of a show bible is all fluff. You're making 6 episodes of She-Hulk, not fricking Season 5 of Sopranos.

Having watched Loki s2e1, I honestly think referencing old shit/canon is one of Marvel's problems. They spent half the episode just talking about the events of Season 1. And I still don't know or care who Miss Minutes is. Point is, if your shit is moronic, why write even write it down in a book.

NO fricking hell this isn't what people want from super hero shows. This thinking is how Indiana Jones 5 was made

A movie set in the "Old Man" universe with Jackman, Renner and Cox would be kino.

in order to do that they would need to go back to hiring on merit instead of identity and removing the weird leftist morality rules for scripts, which bob has made it clear he will not do.

What's funny is, the biggest problem the MCU has is that it's woke. If they refuse to fix that, their movies will still suck no matter how they're made.

Do Americans really have bibles set up at every show? What moronic shit is this? Do they read the bible during filming?

Not even trying to inflammatory here, anon, but outside of the one ep I saw Robby Reyes GR it was pretty rough. I know only giving a show 5 eps is considered not enough nowadays, but I was bored to tears.

I hope that Peltz boots Iger in the most humiliating fashion possible and then Iger's replacement fires the entirety of Marvel and Lucasfilm. They can use that to reset the cultures of those studios, which would be difficult with the old guard around.

Outside of a handful of carefully vetted people, everyone should have to wait five years before they're considered for rehire. That's enough time for a new culture to take hold. Maybe Ike can come back to help, given that it sounds like he was the main reason that the MCU resisted wokeshit for as long as it did.

There's a 80% chance that Iger gets told to leave. Even people who used to idolize him are mocking him now.

It's just a question of whether he successfully appoints one of his sycophants and "voluntarily" leaves "with his integrity intact" or whether he's removed by Peltz. Keep in mind that he felt threatened enough by Peltz last time to give him a bunch of concessions, and that was back when the media was still sucking Iger's dick.

Hot take- Iron Man should have been serialized like James Bond with new actors taking the mantle.

That’s exactly what used to happen with superhero movies.
They were made until they got ran into the dirt, then rebooted and the cycle began anew. The cinematic universe model has utterly killed this being a possibility, since now they can’t reboot one hero in a vacuum

Is the success of Avengers 2012 the pinpoint of when cinema died? I attributed it to the demise of DCEU rushing their version. But it seems to have ruined Disney too. And no other studios are doing shit that isnt paramount and Tom cruise

        >Sure, here you go.
Why did American comics die?! It must be because all stories that could be told had been told. And superhero fatigue. And culture overload. And the price of paper. And the move to online shopping. And a dying interest in the comic book format.
        >Manga and superhero movies were doing amazingly well while American comics were dy-

I agree here, I wouldve simply ended the timeline of RDJ bc having mutants in it retroactively has it make no sense. Theyre rebooting anyway eventually so clearly this was the better play. Should have retold Thanos with everyone if they wanted to play it safe

Recently, before I got a new external hard drive, I was running out of space. So I started watching shit that had been collecting dust for ages so if I didn't like it I could just delete it. One of those was the Hawkeye series. I couldn't believe how laughably DISABLED it was.

    >some awful PoC wxmyn villain who cannot act but was deaf and one legged
    >Hawkeye is going deaf in it and requires a hearing aid
    >even the stray dog they take in is missing a fricking eye

JFC how many CEI points did they get for this unwatchable nonsense...

I stop caring about superheros the second they start fighting aliens and shit. I loved Iron Man 1 because he was just fighting the Taliban, I love Batman because he just fights bad people and the occasional monster freak like Poison Ivy or Man Bat. But when you get Avengers movies where the bad guy is a giant purple alien with alien minions I don't care anymore.

Wasn't one of the main selling points of the MCU that they had everything all planned out? How did this happen?

The original arc leading to Endgame was planned as a framework, but not the individual movies within it. There were a lot of missteps, the shenanigans with Edgar Wright, movies that did not impress, the original arc didn't go all that smoothly.

This newest arc seems to know where it wants to end, but not how to get there in a way that's engaging. It is really missing RDjr and Evans, the soul and heart of the original MCU. Then Boseman croaks and their best substitute is gone on them abruptly.
