It's just that Savino had no real power at Nick, at least the kind of power these girls were expecting (as in, "Oh, I frick him and he'll give my pitch to a bunch of execs or push through a promotion for me!") and iirc that's what prompted the investigation. Newer female employee tried to suck up to him and started flirting back and forth, asked for a different position and he said he would see what he could do, couldn't actually do anything, and so she got pissed and tried to spin it as a sexual harassment case. They investigated, found nothing wrong and that the interactions were consensual and he was not using his position of power to exploit women, and so she got pissed off and leaked the story to cartoonbrew. Shit, the investigation & his paid leave were an entire month before the harvey shit broke. The timing was just really shit. Had none of that happened, none of this would have even gone anywhere. So Iron Man and other properties Marvel couldn't sell off could be bigger movie hits than the ones they did sell to the movie studios. There's no reason to think MCU X-Men and Fantastic Four are automatically going to do better than a Guardians of the Galaxy movie or some other C-list franchise.
Because there are a vocal set of fans out there that are salty that X-Men movies, or X-Men-related movies that weren't Deadpool, weren't making Spider-Man or Avengers-tier money. or left as much of a mark it did on the movie industry that their movies didn't, and the MCU is simply seen as a vehicle to bring them back into relevance and popularity to correct that perceived mistake.

The problem is now that the MCU and superhero movies in general are in decline, the failures of earlier movies killing the genre will be used as an excuse for why MCU FF and X-Men perform like Fox FF and X-Men, these people will cling forever to their conviction that they could have made billions and carried the MCU through the 2020s if they'd opened Phase 4 with them.
