The group in charge who push these ideas (largely israelites) need the american military. But it seems that american military power is not even close to being what it was. I heard that even their arms manufacturing is in the toilet because nobody even knows how to build certain types of things, so they had to recall retired 80year olds.
And manufacturing as a whole is outsourced to other countries.

Americans like to shitpost but they are essentially living on fumes of their past glory. It's not the 50s anymore.

the ideal/hope behind corporatism is to remove all dependency upon unique skills/understanding, that anything one person can do can be taught to another person (and they'll work cheaper) and be able to replace them if they become too expensive.

so if you aren't well on your way to being self-sufficient you're about to get fricked hard.

Yes it matters, you dork. That means there's far more scenes where the damn thing goes down and back up just fine. And he gets to laugh in the doubters faces over and over. this is actually what killed them lmao, the carbon fiber middle section was basically single-use and wouldn't be able to withstand repeated loadings like a metal vessel would.
of the various experts and existing submersible manufacturers he consulted, several told him this and explained why carbon fiber isn't used in the industry, but he decided to go ahead and make it out of the wrong material anyways just to be le subversive and "break the mold" or some stupid shit. and he got a bunch of people killed for it.

nope. It would be 1h minimum of boring set up, a bunch of shit setting up the company, the CEO, each of the passangers, the journalist, etc. Then we would get 20 min of them getting ready, going down, a whole tense scene of tiny things appearing to be wrong, then they imploding, and another 30 min or so of aftermath. It will be the worst disaster movie to date.

This is such a moronic idea for a movie. Do these people even know what actually happened?

The control module stopped responding or a propulsion system failed and they lost power. That sounds bad, but here's the horrifying part: the rich morons all scrambled to the FRONT of the sub in a blind panic, causing the nose to tilt completely downwards. The sub then spent some time dropping lower and lower into the depths. Slow by human standards of frame of reference, but it was rocketing down at an absolutely hypersonic speed for the type of sub they were in.

So, they spent a few minutes screaming and shitting themselves while the CEO, who knows better than anyone that they're all about to die with about a 0.00001% chance of rescue, is probably cursing them all and banshee wailing as as the shit and piss smell clogs the senses ... and then ... quicker than the human brain can actually register a change in its sensory systems, we're talking faster than the amount of time it takes a humming bird to flap its wing 1/16th the length of its arc, the sub just fricking disappears from this material plane in an implosion so ferocious that it would have produced a fricking lightning strike tier flash.

Just completely atomized every cell in their fricking bodies.

It would work best as a dark satire/comedy with absurdist proportions. Something like Death of Stalin or one of Ruben Östlund's films. >This was a terrible, terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to their families. We can at least take solace in the fact that they were warned before the implosion occurred that the hull was about to experience catastrophic failure and they were thus fully aware of their imminent and instantaneous deaths, and were actively trying to escape this horrific fate because we know they dropped their ballasts in a futile attempt to frantically ascend to the surface. Pure, visceral fear and helplessness was surely felt by all. In fact, they undoubtedly could acoustically hear the hull delaminating in real time, regardless of the warning system. I can picture it in my brain. Imagine the camera panning up to the 19 year old's face as he looks to his father in their final moments of absolute existential dread. Cut to dolly track close up of Stockton Rush initiating the ballast release function, possibly screaming, we'll have to brainstorm that shot. Cut to outside the vessel with a full view of the implosion, minimal to no music or score playing for full effect. Anyways terrible tragedy heart goes out to families

It ends just like the final episode of The Sopranos.
Mid conversation they hear a crack, everyone quiets down, Stockton Rush's face gets a close up, his head tilts up and the screen hits black.

    The End!

    >"Oh my god how could this happen?"
I'll never fricking understand these people. What do you mean how could this happen? Implosion is the expected outcome. The question is how can you get a capsule to those depths and have implosion not happen.

I would watch it only if it rewrites the story so they sink to the bottom and have a battle royale so the survivors have more oxygen to wait out the rescue. Dont care if the surface scenes constantly hate on whitey as long as I get scenes of people conspiring and having small skirmishes with frequent truces after each murder.

how big do you think the sub is? it's not a fricking colosseum

        Anonymous

As smalls a broom closet. Despite that, they go from sitting, to arguing to getting into a small murderous battle (sometimes multiple passengers work together to strangle a dude), And then they lie to each other and say "now that X is gone we should have enough air", we should totally go to sleep to make the rest of the air last longer haha. And someone gets strangled again. Ideally, the fights should be brutal, but everyone fights in a way that avoids damaging the sub until the finale where they intentionally or accidentally cause it to implode.

    >Send it down, filled with 5 human carcasses. Set up a slow motion camera inside the cabin encased in black box material, able to withstand heat and pressure, constantly streaming footage.
    >Also send a second proper sub, to record the implosion from the outside of the Titan.

    >Titanic II: The Curse Lives On
    >Plot: the iceberg that sank the Titanic melted down and became sea water, but its evil soul is still alive, waiting 12000 feet below the surface for someone to disturb it. Meanwhile, some guys (main hero Stockton Rush played by Joshua Jackson, his friend Guillermo Söhnlein played by Michael Peña) build a submarine made out of duct tape and cheap plastic sheets in their garage. Some drama ensues as Guillermo realises that the sub could be dangerous to travel in. We see him shouting at Stockton "It could sink!", and Stockton replying "That's the idea!", and so on. Eventually Guillermo leaves the garage, forcing Stockton to invite some local businessmen (Timothy Chalamet, Simu Liu, Zendaya) as passengers lest he would have no money to finish the project. They sail out to sea, reach the spot and dive. This takes about 35 minutes and is filled with meaningful conversations about life and the nature of risk taking. Slowly Stockton realizes that his friend may have been right all along, but then changes his mind as they reach their objective. They dive and reach the Titanic, then the obligatory pressure scene as in all submarine movies, we expect the sub to be crushed but it is not!! Stockton and passengers marvel at the ship, and are ambushed by the evil iceberg spirit. Then a fight scene and done. They go home. As they approach the port, it is revealed that Guillermo contacted the iceberg spirit. In a last ditch attempt to be right about the insecure sub, Guillermo transforms into a massive robot and fires a barrage of missiles at Stockton. He dies but his passengers fight on and eventually defeats Guillermo. End credits
